Cayenne pepper cured my sore throat! I have been sick for three weeks now. It start as something viral and led into a sinus infection. Just when I thought the worst was over I woke up with a sore throat that felt like razor blades when I spoke or swallowed. I also had sores which is why I was little scared. I didn't have cayenne but had a mexican bottled hot sauce. Its made from chile arbol. I put a couple drops (1 tsp) in a cup of warm water and gargled six times. just tried it 30 min ago and its working well. The sore that felt like a ball already seems smaller. Go for it and adjust the heat to what you can stand.

I used the Cheyenne Pepper for a SEVERE sore throat that kept me up all night long until 3:50AM! I took amoxicillin that I had in my medicine cabinet, halls drops, warm soup, NOTHING HELPED. I even resorted to eating a chain of ice pops just to get some relieve, but it was a no go. I then decided to rush to the emergency room as soon I saw the sun, but then I googled "Sore Throat Cures" and came to this site. I browsed through the testimonials, skeptically, all the while rubbing my ENFLAMED throat...Finally, in desperation, I thought: "Let me try it! I have nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain.

So I took a half a glass of the hottest water I could stand, emptied a little more than half a capsule of Cheyenne into it, added honey, about 2 teaspoons of lemon juice (These were all grocery bought items I had lying around...)and gargled with it and I repeated the gargling 4 more times throughout the night. (even though the first shot was enough to be satisfied, I wanted to make sure it would STAY gone!) It was AMAZING! I instantly took away my sore throat, and now I can even swallow without feeling like sandpaper is going down with my saliva! Anyone who's the least bit skeptical, don't hesitate PLEASE! It REALLY works!

Well, I have been a sports player for quite a while, so pain is kinda nutural for me. (As they say no pain, no gain.) Well the one pain I can't stand is a sore throat! (Sad I know.) So as I was Google searching sore throat remedy's, I came across this site. I saw a lot of people say "cayenne and water", so I decided to try it. What I did was take a little under 1/8 of a TEASPOON of cayenne pepper and 1/2 a cip of warm water. Just mix that together and gargul. I thought to myself "This is going to burn like CRAZY!!" But amazingly enough it helped more than it burned!!! The only thing is your tounge feels a litle funky after you do it. Other than that, I would just like to say thank you to the people who posted it on this website!!

What an amazing cure. Last night, i was ready to cut out my throat. It felt like i was swallowing razor blades. I came upon your site, and upped the cayenne quite a bit (i can handle the heat) with lots of honey, lemon juice, and hot water. It tasted horrible, (not enough honey i suspect) but right away my throat felt better.

OH MY GOODNESS. This remedy is CRAZY! it really does work! I looked up sore throat cures on google, and it took me here. I was very skeptic, and trust me, the Cayenne powder looks gross in water, but I made myself do it because my throat felt so awful. I started about 35 minutes ago, and it already feels better. Yes, it does sting - I put on lip balm before doing it, and it helped. But really, it even relieved my cough some!! seriously, just try it. what can you lose?

Not a stranger to things spicy, I diluted 1/8 teaspoon in cambells tomato soup. and had a small bowl... my throat feels better, and it is a wonderful taste!! try this if you cant manage to kill your tea with it... cause I like my tea sweet. my soup, spicy!!

cayenne powder. This was the most incredible cure for sore throat I was amazed. I just wanted to say thanks and just to let you know I made a 20sec video about it and posted it on the internet spreading the news. I got my best results at 1/4 tsp but I mention in the video to start at 1/8 tsp. This is the link below: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1015957/sore_throat_cure/ Thanks again! Robert

I am NOT a lover of "spicy" anything. I was scared to try the cayenne cure. I had a sore throat and was on day 4 when I decided to do a search online. Thank God for this website. With encouragement from my husband (who loves spicy foods) I decided to try it. I made the tea and only used half the amount called for of the cayenne. IT WORKED! But not right away...it took gargling with the same amount in warm water for a few hours to help the soreness go away. Here I am just the next morning and feeling worlds better. My sore throat is basically gone! This is one wonderful cure. Give it a try. Well worth it.

I have felt like garbage for several days, with sore throat, swollen tonsils, and general aches and pains. Yesterday I couldn't take it anymore and decided to fight this thing. I have used jalapenos in the past, so I opened a fresh jar, dumped some in my blender, and after processing, just warmed some tortilla chips in the oven and started dipping. That gave me some more energy, where I was able to move around and didn't want to sleep all of the time, but it didn't help the sore throat.

This morning while I had more energy, I could barely swallow, my tonsils were so swollen! Looking inside my mouth I could see sores on the back of my throat. It's New Year's, so everything but emergency rooms are closed, so I hopped on the Web and found this site, and tried the cayenne gargle.

I heated the water to boiling in my kettle, mixed in the pepper powder, and let it cool to temperature, hoping it would help to extract the properties better. Then I gargled. It was rather warm in my mouth, and I could really tell when it hit one of the sores, but I didn't rinse my mouth afterward, instead taking a drink of tea with a drop of tabasco sauce in it, hoping to get some of the benefits further down my throat. After piddling around my house for a few minutes, I stopped in shock: my tonsil swelling had diminished! I am not kidding! It doesn't hurt to swallow as bad, and the tonsils are no longer swelled to the point where it is obvious on my neck! It is still early in the treatment, and of course the sores are still in my throat, and my tonsils still have a bit of swelling, but I am amazed at the sudden initial drop! I am going to continue to use this gargle a couple of times an hour for a couple days, but at least now I feel better to where I can run to the store and grab some more chips and jalapenos. Perhaps between the two I'll knock this thing without paying a stupid quack...

After suffering for almost 8 days and not eating for three 'cos of badly hurting sore throat I came across this sit, saw this remedy. I was not ready to believe it, how something like hot chilly powder can cure a throat. I was apprehensive but desperate and I decided to give it a try knowing it will worsen my condition, not telling anyone for the fear of people calling me an idiot. First time reaction 'am I really feeling a bit different. Still I kept at it for a few more times ( I am bit on the adventures side, like experimenting with myself and off-course desperate in need of relief ).Next morning I was positive I was feeling a bit better. It didn't go away took almost three days to finally cure me. It worked, why, how I still don't know a coincidence may be but how it can be that it gradually worked after every treatment. It is still very hard to believe but thank god I tried it and IT WORKED.

After 2 weeks of the worse sore throat I made a Dr appointment but could not get in till the next afternoon. So in desperation I searched the net and found this site. Off to the shop and brought the cayenne pepper and mixed 1/2 tsp in a glass of water and within 20 minutes I had some relief. I did this a few time till I was able to go to sleep. I started to gargle with 1/8 tsp the next day every 30 minutes. By the time I arrived at the doctors it was so much better I told her I did not need the medication. Thank you Delia in Australia

I'm finally on my way to some much needed sleep after 4 days but first I had to say THANK YOU! A little background: I've been sick for 5 days with a horrible sore throat, chills, fever, body aches etc. Doctor said it's sinus infection turned bacterial and gave me antibiotics. After 36 hours on the meds and no relief, the sore throat was only getting worse. Hot honey tea wasn't even helping me. I haven't eaten in 5 days - not ANYTHING. Just fluids because of my sore throat and even swallowing tea or water was starting to kill me. I've never tried a 'natural remedy' before in my life having grown up in a medical family where antibiotics were always the cure. Even though I do well with spicy food, I decided to try the honey/lemon/cayenne trick. It didn't taste bad at all. I probably even used less than 1/8 tsp because I'm scared. The first time didn't offer me too much relief. I tried it a few hours later and right after, I was bummed because again no relief. After 15 minutes of looking at your site to see what I've done wrong, I realize that my throat can swallow again!!! This is fantastic. I'm going to continue this for a few days and tell everyone I know about earthclinic.com (Including my doctor who is actually very much a lover of home remedies) Thank you so much to all the people who gave detailed information. I will continue the antibiotics to hopefully rid the fever and infection but this is a huge step for me! I can't wait to sleep and eat tomorrow!

Wow I seriously think that there is no one on earth ever that has ever had a sore throat as bad as mine... It hurts so bad I can't even explain the pain... Where and what type... It is more than a sting or burn... I am border line in tears (self pity tears) all day. My mouth will not even allow my throat to swallow, no ibu, tylenol or asprin have even gave me a bit of relief... I know a lil dramatic but I am so angry from this pain. Sunday morning I took 3 ibus and it was almost gone by that night it really didn't help and now it has got worse every day... I am in the midst of trying the cayenne, honey, lemon trick so far nothing. In between gargling I am drinking chicken broth laced with tons of cayenne.... my thing about gargling is I don't feel like I am getting it back far enough down my throat to help???? Any tips? I really feel like this is the worst pain I have ever had.

Laci, Zinc Lozenges are good for sore throat.

Dear Laci from Lewiston Ohio, I have no way of knowing what the cause is of this sore throat condition is with any certainty. BUT, I suffered with sore throats throughout my childhood and adolescence.

The cause of my sore throats was always called swollen glands by the doctors who looked at me during that time. They were WRONG.

My sore throats were the result of chronically infected tonsils and adenoids. I saw an elderly country doctor who immediately knew what was wrong with me. This doctor sat me down in a dentist type of chair he had in his office and then and there removed my tonsils and adenoids, on my first visit to him. Now he used some novacaine and this did not hurt all that much.

Anyway, he said my tonsils were the worst he had ever seen. And once these tonsils and adenoids were surgically removed I NEVER have had sore throats again.

Well that surely did work for me and I never had any such problems again....Oscar

I did read that someone sprayed iodine down their throat after looking in the mirror and they could see the bacteria on the tonsils and throat area. The iodine killed the pathogens on the tonsils and stopped the pain.

Coconut oil, and ACV or even honey or vitamin c (anything anti bacterial I would think would kill the pathogens.)

Hi Laci, Hope your on the improve now and it would be interesting to know if the zinc lozenger helped or if the other things you were doing did. Cod liver oil and vit c will help build your resistance to these for the future not that it helps with your immediate pain.

Oscar, I had mine out also as a child and went on to suffer bad sore throats regularly. I also caught scarlet fever. I left home and was taught that the tonsils are one of our defence mechanisms to infections. I then learnt through a friend that taking cod liver oil builds you up - guess what no more sore throats so no more unnecessary prescriptions. I am curious after having yours removed did you change anything else like diet, supplements or even location? Your elderly country doctor must have been good one to be able to do the op in the chair. Those days are gone with Drs having so many authorities looking over their shoulders.

My favorite throat remedy is Propolis. I like the high percentage tincture. It is like tar and will stick to your throat. Also your teeth so be careful to place the dropper to the back of the throat. For a sore throat that bad be sure to have a dr check it out.

Dear Maria from Gippsland Australia, I never took any supplements back then [ 1967 ]. And yes he was a remarkable doctor. I had suffered with these sore throats and what the doctors in Minneapolis Minnesota where calling " swollen glands ", low grade fevers and such throughout my childhood and adolescence.

I moved out on my own and moved to Wyoming and worked in the oil fields there as a well service person. I did NOT think of it as unusual that this doctor did what he did back then. I had just turned 18 years old and did not realize what an unusual doctor he was.

It was just like I said: He took a look in my throat and told me I had bad case of tonsilitis. He told me to sit in this chair he had and to keep my mouth as wide open as I could. Then he gave me some shots of novacaine and went to work. He had those tonsils and adenoids removed and the cuts stitched up in about one hour or less. He did tell me these were the worst tonsils he had ever seen. And that was that. Now my throat was sore from the surgery for about two weeks, but I never had sore throats or swollen glands again once my throat healed. Now I never suffered any ill effects from this surgery. I felt very much better and was never plagued with these infections again....Oscar

I woke up this morning with an unbearable sore throat. I have tried evrything under the sun including salt water, but nothing has lessened the pain. I went out and picked up some cayenne pepper. I've been gargling every 15 min with 1/2 tsp in a 1/2 cup warm water. This has definitely made it easier to swallow and it's only been 45 min! I'm also not a fan of spicy foods, but after gargling, I recommend rinsing your mouth with cold water. This will take away the burning sensation quickly.

It's 3am here, and I was seriously thinking about going to the ER to see if they could help me with the pain of my sore throat.. (This is the worst sore throat I've ever had) Then I did a search on google and found this. Lucky for me, I had the Cayenne pepper in my spices. I used it once so far, and I already feel less pain. I'm going to use it every 30 mins til I can fall asleep. Thank you so much! I had never heard of this before, and the salt water wasn't helping one bit.

Add me to the list of believers. I woke up last night with a horrendous sore throat. Googled for remedies, got to your site. Couldn't find cayenne pepper but did find a bottle of Tabasco sauce. Poured a few drops into a glass of warm water, gargled, and felt instantly better. Repeated the process 30 minutes later and sore throat vanished completely.
