Vitamin C

I think the best way to cure a cold or the flu is plenty of bed rest and loads of fluids (Preferably no water otherwise you will be up and down to the toilet all the time and you won't get that all important bed rest!) Loads of Vitamin C (Pure Orange juice) is the best way to cure it!

At the first sign of a cold, take 1000 mg of vitamin c every 2-3 hrs for as long as you feel symptoms. This has kept the cold from getting bad and ended sooner.

This one has been good for me when I have had a bad cold. Take 1 cup of cranberry juice and add in 2-1000 mg dissolvable tablets of vitamin C and heat in microwave until very hot. I have found this to really help when I have been sick. Repeat the next day.

Cold Showers

I decided to finish every normal 'hot shower' with a blast of totally cold water, after reading a book by an old healer by the name of Jethro Kloss. Anyway, I am a bad asthmatic, and used to get sick around 6 times per year. When I got sick it really affected my chest, with huge amounts of mucous, and real bad asthma.

Now I rarely get sick (it boosts the immune system as well as circulation), and if I do it's usually just a mildly sore throat. I wish I could better explain the massive difference this has made. Even if you feel sickness coming on, a cold shower will often stop it in its tracks.

Wake Up the Dead Juice

Wake up the dead juice: When I was younger I used to get a lot of fatigue, loss of appetite, and body aches as a result from a cold. It would be those types of colds that just basically gave you those symptoms. It would have none or very little fever, coughs, stuffiness and sneezing. So I used to say to myself i would go to school if I had the energy. That's when I started drinking "Wake Up the Dead" juice.

There are a few ways to make this. You can either boil some water and add sliced onions to it. Or boil water and add chopped garlic to it. I usually mix both onion and garlic to the hot water. I leave the chunks inside. You can remove them if you wish. Drink that water as hot as you can take it. Another way people do it is by mixing about 2 cups of cold water and 1 chopped onion and/or some garlic chunks all in a blender. They can either drink it hot or cold. But drinking it hot is better. It is extremely important that you drink this as soon as you get up on an empty stomach. One cup is fine and 2 is better. The more onions and garlic you put in it the better it is. It tastes very disgusting but it will give you one hell of a boost. It will last anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. Then you have to drink it again. You should only drink it twice a day.

Oregano Oil, Echinacea, Golden Seal

I recently got a natural cure for the cold and or flu. Our amazing chiropractor let us in on this secret. When you fist start to feel sick, ie: sore throat, runny nose, etc., take this remedy morning and night after you eat. Get empty gel capsules, the small size. You will also need the liquid form, with droppers, of OIL OF OREGANO and ECHANACHA with GOLDEN SEAL. Put 8 drops of each liquid in capsule and take with a full glass of water. NOTE - you may burp this up a little when you first start, but it just tastes like you ate pizza. Also DO NOT take if you are vomiting! Good Luck. This will make you fell better!

I would like to enlighten you with one of my ancient arabic cures for the common cold and a congestion in the chest in nasals. Oregano is the cure. You take water and boil it then you add some organic oregano to the boiling water and inhale the steam for as long as it stings and then you drink the water with honey. I give it my double money back guarantee (as long as the oregano is a natural strong scented one and not commercially produced).

Lugol's Iodine

I am exposed to a lot of viruses (around a lot of children). Twice this year I have clobbered the flu before it started by putting one drop of Lugol's iodine into a glass of water the second I start to feel weird. I have read that it is supposed to be 3 drops, but 1 seems to do the trick for me. I feel better almost instantly.

I use Lugol's iodine anytime I am getting a cold. I was a chronic user of antibiotics because of asthma. I have not had a bout with bronchitis because anytime i am getting a cold or virus I put 6 drops of Lugol's in water 3 times over a 24 hour period and the infection is gone. I actually have one day colds now. I follow up with acidophilus for my stomach and milk thistle for my liver. This really works and probably will work for Bird flu if you keep a supply in your cupboard.

I gargled with a capful of hydrogen peroxide mixed into 1/4 cup of water and also swished it around my mouth and the next morning my cold was gone.

I have found that peroxide in the ear can stop a cold even after it starts. I lucked up when doing this method, I didn't know about these home remedies then, I was just off from work because I was sick and decided to clean out my ears because I had extra time. Gargling might help to break up irritation and mucus in the throat. I say this because my ears nose and mouth don't seem to be as closed off from on another as the average person. After adding peroxide in my ears, I immediately tasted it in my mouth (really in the back of my throat). It felt like I needed to belch, and when I did, all the stuff in my throat came up. It was weird for me but it does seem to break up and stop symptoms of colds.

I would like to give my natural remedy for : allergy suffers, colds and sinus problems. At the onset of any of the above, put two drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide in one ear and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Tilt head and drain on clean tissue. Repeat in other ear. I do this for two days and all troubles are gone. This is also good if you have itchy ears. This is safe and proven to be effective. You may hear a bubbling sound in your ear but don't be afraid. It feels so good when you drain it out of your ear. Once you get past the fear you will wonder how you ever managed without it. Hydrogen peroxide is cheap and available at any drugstore. Just make sure to purchase the 3% type.

At the first sign of a cold (scratchy throat) I use H2 3% by gargling. I use it straight from the bottle. I've never had the flu. (I'm 56) (I don't take flu shots.) If I do get a cold, (I haven't had one in 3 or 4 years), if I gargle with H202, the cold only last about 2-3 days. If it comes at all! I believe in it healing powers and told my sister to try it on her foot where she has a horn. Her Dr. doesn't know she using it, but is totally surprise that the horn is not growing like it should! She can now walk on that foot with out pain! The Dr still wants to do surgery on her foot, but I asked her to hold off for a while to see what will happen with her using the H2. It has cured colds, cleans the wax out of my ears. I tell my grandsons to use it for their pimples. I use it on the fungus on my toe nails. I didn't know about using it for plants. I will try that next! I love the stuff.

Hydrogen Peroxide Sniffing Method!
Posted by Grant (Lafayette, Colorado) on 04/21/2007

I have been using the following method to treat all colds for the past 15 years, and since first trying it, use nothing else to treat colds. I use the cap from the peroxide bottle and put 1/4 cap of peroxide the rest of the cap is filled with water dripped from the faucet. I put a finger over one nostril and sniff the mixture up the other nostril. I repeat this with the other nostril. One cap full (1/4 peroxide 3/4 water) usually will treat both nostrils. When the solution drain down the nostril passage to the throat I spit it out and blow my nose. Guess what? Instant relief then and there not ten minutes later but then and there. When you blow your nose you will be amazed at what come out. This is especially great for head colds, but also sore throat and stops coughing colds as well. I usually only have to do this twice at about 8 hour intervals. After that or by the next morning were talking, what cold? I have not tried using the inhaling through the mouth method since I have discovered that the cold always appears to be in the nostril passage. Even the sore throat symptom is in the nasal passage between the nose and throat and you will feel where it is when the mixture drains down the nostril passage. If you find that a 1/4 peroxide to 3/4 water too strong, i.e., stings too much, use slightly less peroxide and more water. I sniff rather than spray the mixture as I found that spraying does not atomize and coat the entire nostril passage as well as when the mixture is sniffed. Try it and you will also be amazed.

Hydrogen Peroxide in the Ears

I found that the peroxide in the ears is one of the best home remedies there is. A few drops of slightly diluted hydrogen peroxide can cure almost any type of common cold or flu. Thanks for the advice everyone!
