My friend was on a jobsite 30 years ago that had a fatal chlorine spill (gas). I was evacuated from school 4 miles away! I am now a friend to one of the victims on that jobsite. He has been dealing with pain in upper stomach for 30 years. Nerves activate it . Very painful in fetal position for 24 hours now ? What can I start to do to alleve the pain? Worried, Kelly

Hi Robert Henry,
It is so good to hear from you.... Glad you are doing well. I always enjoy your posts. Now I want some apple sauce.... Darn it! ;-) I will have to look into what a rife machine is. I know I read about it a while back, but forget now what exactly one is / does. Happy Fall to you and yours!

Hi Henry,
how long have you been using the rife machine? I have c.diff and SIBO- small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. Do you think this would help? I have food allergies, colitis, and skin sissies from the all. I'm not sure if the investment is worth it? Is this machine expensive? Thank you in advance!
Detoxing From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Posted by Linda (New Haven, Ct, United States) on 02/26/2013
Hi. Our family suffered a near tragedy seven weeks ago when my husband nearly died in a car from carbon monoxide poisoning. Since that time we have noticed increased memory problems (he's always had some memory issues but they are worse now), fatigue, and even a loss of his normal voice. He used to have a lovely singing voice but can't hit many of the notes any longer.
He is 59 years old, overweight, high blood pressure and borderline diabetic. He suffers from depression (since he was a child) and has recently been diagnosed as bipolar. I've been reading online about carbon monoxide poisoning and realize that is what's causing his symptoms. The doctors will only say that we should give it 6-12 months and the effects may reverse.
Is there something he can do now?

In reply to Linda: Try researching melatonin and its protective effects on the brain after damage from different insults. Carbon monoxide poisoning will probably have some similarities with stroke damage as both involve lack of oxygen to the brain for a period of time resulting in increased oxidation and free radical production which will damage the cells. Melatonin has been shown to be safe in humans at pharmacological dosing and is a potent antioxidant that can readilly cross the blood/brain barrier to get to the damaged areas. Melatonin has shown some benefit in diabetes also, but you need to consult with your doctor and get his/her approval before using melatonin for any medical purpose as the suggested dose is likely to be 20mg to 70mg per night, not the usual 3 to 5 mg dose used as a sleep aid. I can tell you from my own experience at 60 mg per night, my main side effect was morning drowsiness, which slowly declined over three weeks of use, but I had this same effect at 20mg per night and it too dissipated over a couple of weeks.
More specific to CO poisoning, Russian scientists have been testing a combination supplement called "Cytoflavin", as an injection/infusion.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22997755
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22665729
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22238986
Cytoflavin appears to be composed of the following: Succinic acid, Inosine, Nicotinamide and Riboflavin Sodium Phosphate. Here is a link to the only website I found that has information on it: http://www.polysan-ru.com/products/cytoflavin/injections/
It looks like your doctor would have to contact them about local availability.
Lastly curcumin has shown some benefit, but curcumin requires high dosing and I'm not sure that curcumin can traverse the blood/brain barrier very easilly. As a potential alternative, Meriva, a liposomal form of curcumin that is available in capsules from most major online vitamin suppliers may be more useful as it is promoted as being able to enter body tissues readilly and have longer staying capabilities than regular curcumin while requiring a significantly lower dose than standard curcumin. Again, you would need to get your doctors approval before using meriva or melatonin or cytoflavin, assuming cytoflavin is even available here.
Good luck with your research!

If I might add, I get best results by taking NAC and Selenium in combination with Melatonin, as used together, significantly boost the body's master antioxidant Glutathione.

Linda: Follow the recommended dosage on the product labels. The NAC probably 1 or 2 500mg on empty stomach once day. Selenium 200 mcgs once day. Melatonon at least 3 or up to 9 or more mg once daily before retiring. These recommendations are safe for long-term defense.
As for your report of husband's chronic conditions, the above will help, but I would also recommend a very good health food store brand mens mult. W/ every meal. Extra antioxidant supplements you might consider is vit-a, vit-e, zinc, vit-c. The mineral Chromium (as Picolinate) in combination w/ Cinnamon will help prevent diabetes. ACV will help the hypertension.
Also, to boost the body's natural defense and restore cellular vitality, try Wheat Sprouts. The Wheat Sprout Enzymes will breath new life to the sick cells.
In addition, I would very much recommend hot baths w/ 1/4 cup Epsom Salt and 1/4 cup Baking Soda, as these salts will help neutralize toxins as well as eliminate them through sweating. One main bad side effect of chemical exposures is acidosis. Acidosis prevents the production and utility of enzymes and coenzymes. The salts reverse the acidosis and greatly improve oxygenation (which is the goal of all the antioxidant supplements). 2 or 3 baths per wk. untill substantial recovery.
My apologies on the lengthy recommendations, but events (chemical exposures) like these plus the aging factor, plus the preconditions you detailed, could spell a rapid or irreversible decline. Hopefully the protocols will restore your husband's health.
Please update us any progress or changes.

Hi Linda, I read your post last night and I am sorry to hear about your husband. It reminded me of a situation that happened to me and my family about 40 years ago, I was about ten and I remember it pretty clearly. It was winter and the house was kept closed up pretty tight, we had a problem with our heater. The entire family (5) of us were very ill. We thought we had the flu and my mom and I went to the Dr. Of course we were "fine" in his opinion. My brother and father felt better when they were outside, but me, mom and my sister in law were really hit hard, kept passing out, stumbling around, headache... Just sick. Finally my mom told my brother to call an ambulance.... An hour later we were in the emergency room, x rays and oxygen... Come to find out we were a few hours away from death. Long story short, we all recovered so I'm hoping your husband recovers as well.... just want to give you some hope.

In reply to Linda: I'm sorry to hear about this new complication for your husband.
Since you have the weekend to "research", I am attaching links to studies about melatonin that you may find helpful. I wanted to attach a chart that shows how melatonin declines as we age, but I don't know how to take it from "my documents" and place it into this message. Basically it shows a steady rise from the age of 3 months until the age of 6 years followed by a relatively flat period from 6 to 12 years of age followed by a fairly steep decline from the age of approximately 12 to 14 years when it peaks around 125 pg/ml to the age of about 57 where it starts to flatline around 5 pg/ml on into the 70's and 80's....... basically a negligible amount.
The following link discusses melatonin and how it is much more than just another potent antioxidant:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2582546/
This next link discusses at length the anti-inflammatory effects of melatonin as well as interactions and protective effects to the brain and central nervous system:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3001216/
The following link is to a human study that used 10mg of melatonin per day combined with Omeperazole to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers and h. pylori intestinal infection:
http://www.jpp.krakow.pl/journal/archive/10_11/pdf/521_10_11_article.pdf
This next link is to an abstract of another human study that shows that the increased antioxidant potential caused by melatonin supplementation continues for more than a week after discontinuation of supplementation:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20577026
This next link is to an abstract of a double blind placebo controlled study of COPD in humans where melatonin was shown to have some benefit, however the dose was quite low at only 3mg/day. Further studies at higher doses for COPD seem warranted:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22507631
A quick word about melatonin as a radioprotectant:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22185900
The next two abstracts are from a two stage study of melatonin in the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy using 70 mg of melatonin per day for at least 9 months with significant results:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20210854
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21515247
There is quite a bit of research regarding melatonin and its beneficial effects in cancer as well as its synergism with multiple chemo agents. Melatonin also has the ability to help protect the human body against some of the negative effects of chemo and radiation therapy. One scientist (Lissoni P. ) that I have read some of the studies has been researching melatonin since the mid 1980's and has done the majority of these studies in the relationship of melatonin and cancer. The last study I could find was dated, in 2012, so almost 30 years of studying that cancer/melatonin relationship. I think it says a lot that a scientist has basically devoted their career to mainly researching one substance, melatonin!
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22933147
So that should give you some good study material to research and help you understand the true value of melatonin in many health conditions. These links that I have posted here are just the tip of the iceberg as far as the total potential of melatonin. The more you research it, the more you will realize just how much potential melatonin has. I hope melatonin will be helpful and your husband will make a full recovery!
Good reading to you.

I've been on FML (Family Medical Leave) in order to help my husband since his release from the hospital but I must return to work. I won't have access to the internet at work so I will read what I can once home in the evenings.
I can't thank you enough for all the links you have sent. The medical doctors he has seen are all taking a "wait and see" attitude. My feeling is that his brain and other affected organs need help and support now, not a year from now!
I'll pass on the results from his lab work as soon as we hear - that should be tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday.
Thank you again and God Bless, Linda

I just started oil pulling on September 18, 2012. I started because my Chiropractor had told me to start due to a bacterial throat/ear/sinus infection with very bad sinus pressure and the back of my neck felt inflamed like I had the flu, and I didn't want to go the antibiotic route. I use EVCO and at first I swished 1 teaspoon for 20 minutes... I immediately started having inner tremors, crying and panic attacks for apparently no reason, so I called the Chiro and he told me I was detoxing way too fast, so now on his recommendation I swish for 5-6 minutes once daily in the morning, followed by sea salt water rinse and brushing. I was wondering, can I be having heavy detox symptoms just 4 days into all this? My throat has stopped hurting and my teeth/gums look great now, and the panic attacks have pretty much subsided, although I still wimp out and cry over all this every once in awhile! But I still have the heavy sinus/ear/back of neck pressure, and it makes it hard to get a full, good night's sleep. Also there's nothing coming out my nose, clear, green, or otherwise, it just feels dry as the Sahara inside my head, and as I said earlier, so much pressure! Here in the Midwest USA many people are dealing with Is this just detoxing or should I be worried? Thanks!

I am doing much better now. I hope you are too. I have noticed clearer skin, better tooth and gum health and smaller pores in just a short time. I've been pulling for 20min using sesame oil every morning. I like it and look forward to seeing more results soon:)

Robert Henry, I got Ed's book also and share your sympathy w/ his plight from the establishment. Ozone is definitely the answer for a polluted planet or organism. How to administer Ozone is the problem.
I bought a Hong Kong special off Ebay couple yrs back w/ the combined technologies of UV Ozone, Pos/Neg Ion Generator, and Corona Discharge. I used the Ion Generator and UV 24/7, for constant air purification and sometimes the Corona for a surge. The first two tech's were not quite enough and adding the Corona was tooo much, so as for any unit the important thing is maintaining the correct level. The Corona can produce Nitrogen Dioxide in the air but is more powerful compared to the cleaner UV. I have since bought a "New Living" brand that is not near as powerful as the HK model (of which the UV bulb is burned up and cannot find a replacement).
To get the best bang-for-the-buck I like the Negative Ion Generators as a primary purifier and then crank up the Ozone to the level that you can barely smell it.

I wish I knew more about your exact issue. Are you saying that you know for sure your issues are an overload of toxicity? If so I strongly urge you to research the Gerson Therapy.
I'm pretty sure along the way of researching, you have come across studies, research and personal accounts of how ones outlook effected their health. I will reiterate those ideas.
You physical body responds to negativity and stress but also thoughts of suicide. I know when there seems to be no end in sight to the suffering one endures, such thoughts occur. It would be silly of me to say try to focus on something positive or try to shake it off because I know what its like to have something causing pain that directly generates such negative thoughts.
My advise is to try to become more aware of your emotions that lead you to such thoughts. I realized I tended to have more negative thoughts when my physical body felt very tired from not sleeping well or when I was ill. I was then able to expect such thoughts when ill or sleep deprived and knew they where initiated by these physical states of being.
I take St. Johns wart just before bed to help me sleep deeper. When I am rested the following day I am a bit more optimistic. Just like when we are grouchy when we are hungry, getting rest when we have health challenges or life challenges reduces the tendency of negative thoughts.
Another way to promoting better emotions is through a diet of raw veggies and freshly juiced fruits and veggies, no or very little carbs and meat. After the 4tyh or 5th day your body feels better. Your mind then follows.
Also another thing I'll do is treat myself one a week to something really nice. It could be a really big expensive meal, or buying a ton of junk at ikea. It makes that moment about me and gives me something positive to do physically.
Rest not only helps heal the body but it sooths and rests the mind and emotions.

Roec, all that you say makes perfect sense. But theres no weekly, monthly, yearly treat. I dont hear from anyone Xmas or birthdays. Its all because of the chemical & all sensitivities. I can NEVER eat anything different or do anything different as it might involve going near a person or a car might come past. And absolutely forget shopping. Cant sit in a park because the council sprays it, thats apart from someone might come near me. Cant read a book, have a hobby, using a computer for these few minutes usually involves hours of further pain. No holidays, weekends off, just sitting in the car waiting for apple cider vinegar to work. Or all the other supplements. Or the antibiotics. Cant get anyone to respond to me re: stem cell therapy. So you see, very difficult to do something different and thoughts will follow.

Hi Robyn, Roec mentioned that drinking high silica water may make a difference. If you are considering going down that route, I would strongly suggest that buying a bunch of crazy-expensive water is, well, crazy. Especially when diatomaceous earth is 90% silica and food grade stuff is quite cheap online.
If you wanted to supplement your water intake with silica, put a spoonful into a litre bottle of water and allow it to settle (this might take a few days). Drink the water, but be careful not to stir up the water. You can refill the bottle over and over for years this way.
I just thought I'd give you that bit of info to help you save a bunch of money.

Hi there Robyn, Hope you are doing better. In your last post, you were outlining all that was wrong in life. Bringing all of those emotions together into focus is very heavy and emotionally draining even though what you mentioned is part of your day to day life. I have been taught to do just the opposite and outline all that is good in life when everything feels so wrong. Take a moment to make a list of all the things in life you are grateful for. This exercise occupies your mind and emotions to focus on positive thinking and emoting. This exercise calls for finding other similar ways to occupy your emotions with positive vibrations. And no one ever "masters" these exercises but over time you do improve.
I have also learned that you have to "make" good times in life. When life is shitty or has stopped moving and feels stagnate, make something good. Something good can be a moment to help someone else, taking a trip somewhere awesome, creating something new like painting drawing or composition, paint the house or a room, build something, create something. I'll go hunting around town for black walnuts, Eucalyptus and olive leaves to make a healing FREE tea blend. It costs nothing, very healing and rewarding way to occupy my time and creating something from nothing.
Most of all REST!!! Rest makes a difference on your whole outlook on everything. A tired body makes a tired mind.
And to Rex: I felt it was necessary to state exactly what worked for me after experiencing 3 years of dull liver pain. I did try the diatomatious earth as you recommended but it was very dehydrating and too unpleasant to keep up on a daily basis. Also there are a variety of Diatomatios earth out there. You have to do a bit of research beforehand and make sure what you are getting is not the toxic pool grade DE. Also there is a difference between fresh water and salt water DE. I felt more assured buying DE from the source rather than re-sellers out there that then jack the price up while lowering the quality of the product. If going this route, be sure you drink enough water and be willing to endure the gritty chalky texture daily. I tried to put in my coffee thinking I would notice it less. It was just gross. I still have a tin container here at my desk full of DE from 2010 when I 1st tried it here at work as here I drink the most coffee.
The [mineral] water was easy as I could take the bottled water with me anywhere. I really could not believe this actually worked after spending nearly thousands on a variety of supplements over that 3 year period! It might be more expensive but it was better for me in the long run. I drank every drop of that water, brought bottles to work with me, made gallons of iced tea with it, and kept some in the car. I then gave the empty plastic bottles to the homeless dude who always dumpster dives on Saturday afternoons behind my building.

As I had previously mentioned, this totally worked for me. I thought the liver pain was as a result of other issues I was having with my liver at the time. I researched allot of herbs to reverse the condition. The test results after taking the herbs healed my liver but not the dull pain. After watching a youtube video about silica and aluminum, I thought I'd try it.
Bingo! Pain is gone.

Bibi, I posted this article a few weeks ago here on E. C. As I had been experiencing many of the symptoms listed. One important point, the Aldehydes are a natural byproduct of fungal metabolism NOT the result of die-off, according to this article. I require at least 250mcg MolyB daily but 250mcg 2x daily is best; and 25mg NAD daily is definitely needed to keep me clear. At least 50mg Zinc daily also helps a bunch. The die-off itself is harmful as you seem to have experienced, and especially bad for the liver, so some Milk Thistle Seed would help along w/ the other nutrients.

Do some research on her, also. Fascinating reading..... she was way above her time.

aluminum present in the body and eliminates it, allowing for healthy nerve cell growth and detoxification.
Malic acid is also known to cross the blood-brain barrier and bind to aluminum, helping to draw the aluminum away from a particular enzyme so magnesium can plug into the receptor sites instead. The aluminum can now be flushed out of the brain and the body.
This is one of the only ways to get rid of aluminum from the brain other than the complicated method of chelation.
Malic acid is also available to some smaller degree in the skin of some products like organic apples.

Hi Rees, Most likely you are having a reaction to detoxing from the diatomaceous earth. I wouldn't stop since it is doing its work. DE is a powerful detoxer in many ways. You can slow it down though if you need to by either using less or perhaps skipping a day. I only take a small amount and only every few days. On the other hand, I believe detoxing on a regular basis is very important since our world is so toxic at this point. I do so many things on a regular basis that I never really have a reaction any more. Hope this helps you, Lisa
Detoxing From Barium Poisoning
Posted by Davye (San Diego, Ca) on 06/28/2012
I had a barium swallow with follow through. I was hesitant because barium is radioactive element. Later that night the lower part of my face was swollen with some hives. I took bendryl with aspirin as instructed by my Dr.the next day I felt shaky, my heart was pounding, my blood pressure shot up I had breathing difficulties, and I was sweating. We went to the ER by the time I saw the dr my symptoms began to subside. The dr did not think this was from barium! According to research my symptoms are directly related to barium many people have suffered from the same exact experience that I have it is clearly due to barium overdose. On the way home I had similar symptoms, I was so scared. How does one remove baruim out of the system quickly and safely?

Muslim from Oslo, which type/brand of epsom salt powder do you take orally? I haven't found any around here. Same thing with a test with Barium. It is so high, I feel electricity all time in the body. So, but my test say I have high magnesium and high potasium in the system.
Chlorine, Fluoride

Hello TED. Im 40 and I'm no different than the rest. I'm going to start using borax myself. But my bigger concern is my 4 yrs old son. I cannot afford filter for fluoride removal from water. So I figured I can give him borax to detox fluoride. but he is so young. Is it going to be ok same amount I consume? And the magnesium supplement for him? Plus he likes taking baths. But I smell the chlorine in the water besides he has mild eczema. How do I make the bath water safer for him besides using filter (like I said he likes to fill up the tub, cannot afford replacement filters.) I came cross seaweed is detox almost most chemicals and heavy metals from water. Do you have any info on this? Or baking soda or something what do you think? Thank you soo much in advance.

Hi Tula from Tampa,
We don't have the funds now to purchase a whole-house water filtration system, and for our son's baths I used Epsom salt, fresh lemon slices/juice and Borax or Baking Soda to counter the chlorine/chloramine and flouride. There were no ill effects from using 1-2 cups of E salt (1 cup if I wanted our son to stay awake the rest of the day, or 2 cups for relaxation), juice from 1/2 a small lemon and a slice or two floating in the water, and one tablespoon of Borax or Soda. I made sure the Borax or Soda was completely dissolved before he climbed in. He didn't have a bath every day--every other day or two suited him, and me. If you do the same, make sure you're son understands not to swallow the bath water--E. salt encourages bowel movements.
Our son doesn't take many baths now since I purchased a filtering showerhead, but when he does, I do fill the tub through the showerhead. Unfortunately the filter doesn't filter fluoride. A chemist friend told me that the fluoride particulate isn't small enough to penetrate and be absorbed by the skin. I don't know if I believe this completely though. He did continue to say that it is the steam that should be a concern. Use cold or lukewarm water and use the bathroom fan.
I have my son drink water w/lemon before and after bathing these days, to help flush his system.
HTH,
Sheila

Regarding chlorine / chloramine removal. I use a shower filter with vitamin c in it to dechlorinate the water. They also sell vitamin c dechlorinating tablets for bath water - I've found 100 for under $19 and you only need to use a 1/2 tablet per bath. There are also dechlorinating bath balls on the market which last a yr before replacement crystals req'd. I've seen 2 kinds - one attaches onto your faucet (looks like a small round bucket) & water passes thru, but I hear water pressure makes it come off/water flows over filter and is not treated. The other is like a caged ball you swish thru bath water. Note -any bath products should be added after water has been treated-not during or before. I hope this helps.

Sodium Thiosulfate detoxes and neutralizes chlorine and I believe flouride. I take the chrystals on the 'off borax' days; and when my water gets bleached (not by me! ) I through the STh into the bath water. hope this helps.
Detoxing From Arsenic

I saw the Dr. Oz episode about arsenic in apple juice too. It was apples from China and South America. I started buying my child Indian Summer brand apple juice. It is made only from U.S. apples.

To Tiffany see the newest consumer report article in current issue 11/2012. Rice is the biggest concern and especially the one grown in the USA. You may want to check other sources because with pesticides heavily used in the US the inorganic arsenic is now found in high levels in ALL rice (and fruit juice etc). The one with lowest level came from India but that was just one brand. So your apples juice made in US wouldn't make any different and apperentaly even organic unfortunatley doens't make a difference. It's sad how this has been so undedected for years and government is only starting to look into it.

I would like to share my experiences with the Master Cleanse. I am 20 years old, female, in good health, and average weight.
The longest I've done the Master Cleanse is 5 days. I ended up breaking the fast because my friend tempted me with an organic green smoothie. Haha. I lost 7 pounds, but gained it all back pretty quickly.
I do the Master Cleanse in the spring time to help reduce allergy symptoms. I also use a nasal rinse bottle, and that helps a LOT. The lemonade has helped me expel a lot of mucous (mucous = toxins! ) but I am still having an issue with post nasal drip.
I have also tried the salt water flush numerous times, prepared many different ways, but it's never worked for me. I suppose it's my iron-strong stomach.

I was exposed to exhaust fumes inside my car and was sick off and on for 3 weeks. I have stopped driving the car (last Wed was last time) but still feel ill off and on. I've been doing hydrogen peroxide footbaths and inhaling, coconut oil and ACV daily. Do I need to go get oxygen therapy at a doctor's or will these symptoms go away now that I'm not driving it?

I have just begun taking this in the mornings. According to information I have researched, it's good for just about everything and filled with all the minerals the body needs. Wondering if anyone else has used it and what results you have had.

Hello. I use a tablespoon of DE in simple water, not juice... Just pure liquid to get it down. The next day I felt only mildly different, not negatively. But looking in the mirror I said ok, no makeup today. My eyes were stunningly 'nice', I usually put a touch of liner, and usually darken my brows. Small touches. So I left it at just using moisturizer, and went out. A woman and I were chatting and eventually she said "you're so beautiful'. I tell you this because I had not heard this in decades, and it was day 1, following use of DE. The down side for me is that on the 2nd, 3rd day I am a bit constipated....

I do 20 minutes oil pulling with organic virgin coconut oil first thing in the morning. I brush my teeth, dissolve 1 TB baking soda in 2 TB ACV, add 8 oz. Purified water and drink. From 30 to 60 minutes thereafter I purge anywhere from 1 to 3 lbs of foul water from my bowels. I feel like crap (sorry) during this time, but then I feel really good, and this doesn't happen again all day. My routine is just as I described; I'm not eating anything to provoke this reaction. It feels like detox and smells like detox (sorry! ) sometimes skunky / sulphery odor. I figure it's better out than in :P Any feedback or similar experience?

★★★☆☆BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
Well, i did everything as directed. although i did not eat properly leading up to the day of the detox, i had not planned to do it. i had already done the enema, so i just decided to do it. i never had any bowel movement at all until the next morning when i threw up the epsom salt and water. maybe an hour later i had a bowel movement, not diarrhea, i did not take the last epsom salt drink though, i just couldn't do it. i did not have another bowel movement until the next day, just regular. i will never do that again. but i would like to try another easier liver detox. any suggestions... i do think i have extra long colon. my turn around time has alway been about 48 hrs. thank for any suggestions
