Lugo'ls Iodine is absolutely the BEST thing ever for diarrhea. Seriously, I've suffered off and on all my life with diarrhea episodes and have recently discovered that if I take 3 to 6 drops of Lugols in water my diarrhea will stop almost immediately! Works for food poisoning too! You must order on-line tho cause you can't buy that kind of iodine at drug stores any more thanks to FDA!

Well, I've just had an MRI scan and I had to take some stuff that would show up during the scan. The side effects are yes, you've guessed it, diarrhea! Perhaps I've got a particularly sensitive gut but I didn't find the turmeric worked for me, nor the cider vinegar nor the cinnamon and apple cider vinegar. I'll try the stewed cooking apple and cinnamon and see how that goes. It's got to get better as I've got to do a hydrogen breath test when the 'd' finishes?.Wish me luck and more.

Dear Chris, as a parasitologist, I think you got Entamoeba. Histolytica or E. Coli. Entamoeba. Histolytica is a very dangerous nasty protozoa. It destroys the tissues that is why it is called Histolytica. The best treatment is 2 grams of tinidazol for 4 days followed by an amoebicidal agents like paromomycine or diloxanide for 10 days to kill the cysts. Reinfection may occure and you have to take extra steps in washing your hands and cleaning your toilets.
S.boulardii might help.
In case of E. coli which is a bacteria known as the traveler bacteria, the approach is different.

The list of symptoms you describe suggest a bad parasite infestation. Try taking a parasite cleanse tincture that contains Wormwood, Cloves and green Black Walnut hulls. Worked very well for me. Check the dosage on the internet as you need to start slowly with 3 drops a day and work up slowly.

Post-Diarrhea Diet

Hi Alex from New Mexico: forgive me if this post duplicates but I'm having some computer problems. Here goes. Don't fear diarrhea just go to your local health food store and get activated charcoal (AC). It works much better than otc remedies. Take only one at a time as it is a very powerful remedy. God created our bodies to subsist on veggies and fruit, so enjoy those. Even if there is a recurrence, the AC will stop it in its tracks. Actually, the AC can be a little constipating so you will need the fruits and veggie to balance out your system. Don't panic if your stool is black as that is just the AC. God Bless!

Hi, you will need to bath in mineral salts like Epsom salts or Himalayan salt- or use footbaths ( or feet in washing up bowl). I would recommend a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses which contains vital minerals. Did you find out why you had diarrhea? This needs checking if you've not done so. Eat bland foods which are easily digestible like rice/ potatoes, maybe eggs.

Alex, you might start with white rice, banana and/or grated apple (let it turn brown). These are some of the staples for firming up things. Remember to chew well.

Now that I have a bout with diarrhea sort of under control, what do I eat? When and how much etc, I am starved but concerned of a relapse. I am trying to understand gut flora, and such. I am 78 and this is the first encounter with diarrhea that has lasted now more than a month. All my life I've claimed a 'cast iron stomach' and could eat and drink any thing, no problem. Thanks Alex
Granulated Soy Lecithin

I had chronic diarrhea and loose stools. Tried fiber, digestive enzynmes, apple cider vinegar, probiotics, nothing. Reading Ted's post on granulated soy lecithin I tried it, but I didn't try it as a remedy for diarrhea. I started taking one tablespoon in the morning and evening before meals and it did wonders. The second day of this regimen I had 5 solid bowel movements. After that my bowels, which I couldn't trust, are now normal.
Also, consider taking granulated soy lecithin first if coconut oil gives you bowel issues and you want to experiment with coconut oil.
Thank you EarthClinic, I sent Ted a donation in thanks for his effort and sharing of wisdom.

Absolute YEA.
I was taking the dreaded antibiotic, Clindamycin, which is legendary in it's reputation for not only horrible diarrhea, but also C. Diff as well. Anyway, I was starving becuase I basically crapped everything out all night. And, I decided to instead add 2 tablespoons of turmeric to my meal. Meal being: fried fish, collard greens, and mac and cheese... yup soul food..lol.
Ok, so I eat my meal with the turmeric added and voila! Like magic no diarrhea. And, most of all, the food tasted even better with it!
Also, for people who are having trouble drinking water with turmeric due to taste, you can also try making a wonderfully smooth and tasty turmeric drink using Almond Milk. Warm up your almond mik a little bit in the microwave first, then add 1 tablespoon of turmeric after you warmed the milk and umm hmm good! Tasty and no more diarrhea!
God Bless Earth Clinic!

Several people in my family got a stomach flu with diarrhea. I didn't get the stomach flu but got a bad case of diarrhea. After 2 days of this I started bleeding a lot of bright red blood when having a bowel movement. I searched the web for possibilities then came to earth clinic and found cures for all the likely possibilities it could be. I found a few post that described similar symptoms. I combined these to come up with a cure that worked for me.
Every morning I would make a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, after eating the oatmeal I would drink a glass of water that had 1/3 cup of aloe vera juice added. As I drank this I would take 2000 mg of garlic capsules, 2000 mg vitamin c, 1500 mg tumeric capsules, and I would chew two papaya enzyme tablets. After this I would drink a glass of water that had 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar added. For lunch and dinner I would drink the water with aloe vera and take the garlic, tumeric, vitamin c and papaya enzyme but not the apple cider vinegar. At meals and snacks I ate high fiber foods mostly. I did this for 10 days. In less than 24 hours I felt much better. After 48 hours I had no bleeding and my appetite returned. After 6 days I felt back to normal but continued the treatment for the full 10 days. It has now been over a week since I stopped this treatment and still feel good. I am a 51 year old male and I have been taking 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water for over a year every morning and I take 1000 mg vitamin c at each meal. For my allergies I use a netti pot with 2 cups of water and a teaspoon of sea salt.

I was having severe diarrhea for 2 days, getting dehydrated... On the morning of day 3 I tried 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and the diarrhea immediately became less intense. Used ACV 2 times more that day and the diarrhea was almost done. Not a quick fix but I think definitely helped.

How often did you take the pickle juice & for how long? Hourly for 7 days? Once a day? 3x a week? I have the same symptoms as the lady in Montana & am dying-feel like I can hardly do anything ( especially in the am)... Anyway I love pickles so this will be easy! Please help me with dosage?

I have a horrible intolerance for gluten. I had some homemade bread that was supposed to be gluten free, but there was some cross-contamination because right after I ate it I got really sick. I read about the ACV here on earth clinic and can't belive the difference it made for me. It really helped me feel so much better and soothed my stomach and nausia. I will keep a small flask of this stuff in my purse at all times from now on in case I ever get glutened again! A miracle!

I was having persistant diarrhea for a week and researched that in developed countries, they would give zinc to children so that they don't die from the diarrhea.
I tried zinc gluconate 50mg and it stopped my diarrhea. Apparently zinc deficiencies make diarrhea worse.

This totally didn't work for me :( I've had diarrhea for five days and this is the only remedy I can try until I get paid tomorrow, the apple has made the nausea worse, and my stomach feels like its burning. Glad it works for some, but will be steering clear from now on I think.

This was my second bout of a viral enteritis this year! After 1 day of 101.7 fever, diarrhea set in... Every 20 to 30 min for 36 hrs, knew I could not handle another several days like this, so kept looking online and found Earth Clinic (now bookmarked). Tried ACV with plan for activated charcoal if it did not work. Had not eaten much, only a little oatmeal and veggie broth, so took 3tbsp in 6oz water for 1st dose at 3:00pm. Waited. Could hear the ACV gurgle thru my system. Still had to go about 20 min later, then again 1 hr later, but was less spastic. 3.5 hrs after first dose ate a banana and took 2 direct tbsps by mouth. Harsh, but less volume to choke down. By now reduced visits to every 2 hrs. Kept taking 2 tbsp every 4 hrs right up to bed. Next day only went 3-4 times. Felt good to venture out of house. Following day near normal frequency and confident to leave house for multiple errands. Wish I knew about this the 1st time round. Thanks you to all for posting!

Curing diarrhea is NOT so simple. Bloody diarrhea is life threatening. Bloody diarrhea must be treated with cinnamon, and/or other antifungals, such as garlic cloves, tea tree oil, and coconut oil. Also problems may exist in the persons ketheric template and chakras from past life, (or current one).
Hydrochloric Acid

I had chronic diarrhea for 15 years without knowing the cause. I was depleted of minerals to the point of losing hair/eyelashes, muscle and joint pain and lack of energy to the point I was bedridden for quite awhile. After hearing some information on HCl with Pepsin, I decided to give it a try according to the protocol of 1 at each meal of cooked food and increasing by 1 capsule at each consecutive meal until stomach burn is detected and then backing off by 1 capsule. Within 24 hours, my chronic fatigue was gone and within 30 days, my aches and pain were also gone. I have wondered if anyone else has given Hydrochloric Acid supplements (capsules only with Pepsin) a try? It worked for me since my digestive system was not able to break down minerals necessary for bioavailability. I have since given up all grains (wheat, rye, barley and oats) and have eliminated my chronic diarrhea of 15.

Same problem as everyone else. I took 4 ACV tablets and the problem disappered in 4 hours. I realize the tablets probably won't give all of the benefits as the liquid does, but in this case, they work also.

We missed an appointment because my son had diarrhea. I read about Apple cider vinegar and its benefits and decided to give it a shot. I gave him 1/3 cup and it stops the diarrhea in half an hour. Amazing. This should be in every home just for the health benefits alone.
