Hello Ladies, I'm now 54 and 4 years ago began menopause, not one period since then. Yeah!!! I used to have problems with fibroids and still have the fibroids but no problems unless I dont listen to my own adivce. I wanted to share what was reccommended to me by a holistic Dr..... Change your diet!!! Chicken, meat and eggs are coming from animals injected with hormones and these same hormones are feeding your fibroids and helping them grow. Have you seen how big chicken wings are now days!!!! Hormones! When I used to have myperiod I had huge clots ( like liver and onions) but when I changed my diet , it all got much better, no clots, no cramps and I felt much better. I still love chicken but now I buy it from Whole Foods and buy cage free eggs , the extra money is worth the freedom to be able to eat and be pain free. Ive shared this info with some friends and it has helped and I hope it helps someone out ther too. I chose this option because I dont want to have a hysterectomy. God Bless us all, we go through so much at least give us our chicken!!!

Hi. I am battling with fibroids too. I found out taking seven seas oil reduces blood cloth and heavy bleeding. For those who are unsure about blackstrap molasses. They increase your energy level because of the sugar content and they are also good as a source of iron. I felt better after taking blackstrap molasses in terms of energy levels, I still take it now and again.

Remedy: Blackstrap Molasses and Borax Cures
Do they work? Maybe
I have had eczema occassionally for years. I'm not sure of the cause. My dermatologist used to prescribe elocon cream; however, this is no longer on the rx formulary for my health plan and too expensive to purchase without insurance. I began putting 1/4 teaspoon of borax (laundry soap) in 1 liter of water and drinking this while at work. I'm not a water drinker so I rarely finish the whole bottle and don't do it consistently (4 days on and 3 days off) as Ted recommended. Despite this, the eczema seems to be improving substantially. It is no longer itchy and seems to be fading away after about 6 weeks.
I was diagnosed with uterine fibroid tumors in January 2003 and have been avoiding surgery. In 2006, a reproductive endocrinologist advised me that the fibroids had expanded my uterus to the size of someone who was 6 months pregnant. He scheduled me for a myeomectomy (abdominal versus vaginal) which I later cancelled. I wasn't comfortable with the doctor nor did I want to spend 2 months recovering. In 2007, I was also diagnosed with a meningioma on my right optic nerve close to where it intersects with the left optic nerve. Because of the location surgery wasn't possible so I did the recommended 6 weeks of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy. This apparently has stopped the tumor growth but triggered a whole host of other problems (loss of taste sensation, more eczema, hair loss, exhaustion, black spots on my tongue, etc., etc) which is what led me to the earthclinic.com website.
Thanks to Ted and the other contributors to this site, I have found out that my body is acidic (5.9ph) which might explain why I had such a bad reaction to the radiation. In the meantime, I have been trying a few of the remedies with enough success to make me realize that modern medicine isn't always best for every health condition.
I have been taking Blackstrap Molasses since I first stumbled on the website about 5 months ago along with ACV and Baking Soda. I'm not very good at taking them daily since I forget, I have increased my intake of vitamins and supplements. I take a multi-vitamin (after breakfast of instant oatmeal) every workday with the ACV/BS in glass of water(before eating). My GYN prescribed Ponstal to contol the unbelievable bleading during my periods which come about every 21-24 days from the onset of one. I'm still in the phase where I only have about 5 days a month with no bleeding or discharge but I think this is improving. I went through some sort of healing crisis last November and thought I might have to be rushed to the hospital due to the uncontrollable bleeding but since then it has improved. The Ponstal must be taken with food every 6 hours so I generally do that for the first 4 days of every period. In addition, I take about 1-2 tablespoons of BSM in the morning before work and 1 after dinner at night while I'm taking the Ponstal. I seems to be reducing the bleeding and shortening my heavy flow days from 7 to about 4. It is difficult for me to say for sure that the BSM is the reason for my improvement since I'm doing a lot of cures at once. I'm also taking a garlic tincture that someone made for me which is supposed to help dissolve the fibroids (this is garlic cloves with vodka which sits refrigerated for 2-3 weeks, drained and then taken orally with a dropper). I also don't take that consistently either. You are supposed to take 25 drops 3 times a day (after the 1st month where the # of drops vary). I generally only take it in the morning and occassionally at night. To avoid smelling like garlic all day, I brush my teeth with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and floride-free toothpaste, then drink water with a teaspoon of chlorophyl. I ususally do this every morning before work but have reached the point where it seems to give me gas later on during the day so I'm currently taking a break from the garlic tincture (2 weeks so far) until my stomach can handle it again.
I would really like to know what Ted thinks of my remedy experiments to see if they should be modified in any way. If any of your readers have suggestions, I would appreciate those as well.
Thank you, MB

The Blackstrap Molasses and Cider did slow/stop the bleeding for a day or two, but it would return there after. I tried Saw Palmetto 2 times/day followed by the BSM and Cider and the bleeding has stopped, but reoccurred. The latter method is causing my cycle to become more "normal". The fibroid has shrunk, and the 'jury is still out' as a cure. So far, I'm more satisfied.

I just bought a great book for women with Fibroids. I was written by a doctor who has fibroids. It is called FIBROIDS-The compltet Guide To Taking Charge Of Your Physical, Emotional, and Sexual Well Being. Author:Johanna Skilling.
In this book they DO have a list of herbs known to help Fiorbroids and a list of some women with fibroids should NOT take: Blue and Black Cohosh, Chaste tree (Vitex), Dong Quai (also called Angelica or Dang gui), Licorice (the herb not the candy) and Mother Wart are no-no's for firoids. These herbs can make bleeding worse if you have fibroids and/or cause the uterine cells to divide (creating more fibroids) and can cause high blood pressure if taken for long periods of time.
The GOOD NEWS is there are herbs that this medical doctor and others have researched and have been found to work well for women with firoids"Beth Root (for bleeding control), Black Haw (to detoxify) Cinnamon (for bleeding) Cramp Bark (for cramping and bleeding control), Dandelion (to detoxify), False Unicorn Root (for bleeding control), Garlic (to shrink fibroids), Ginger-Hops-Partridgeberry-Raspberry leaves ( for cramping control), Shepard's Purse-Wild Yam-Partridgeberry-Nettle-Lady's mantle (control bleeding) and YARROW herb shrinks fibroids-controls cramps AND controls bleeding! This list doesn't have EVERY possible herb for every symptom but reflects information from several sources, including NATURAL HEALING IN GYNECOLOGY by Rina Nissim; THE COMPLETE WOMAN'S HERBAL by Anne McIntyre and the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF HEALING THERAPIES by Anne Woodham and Dr. David Peters. REMEMBER some plants (like ones I just listed not to take)have an effect like estrogen, others mimic progesterone-Fibroids get bigger and bled more as a result of either estrogen or progesterone, so be prepared to watch your symptoms. Some SAFE herbs for women with fibroids are listed above.

I am trying to have another baby, and after finding the website I decided to try the molasses to see if it will shrink the one very large fibroid that I have. I have been taking one teaspoon for about a week now, and I notice at night I have been having cramps not sure if its because the tumor is contracting or what. Any advice would greatly help. Thanks!

MY STORY:
I've had 11-17 day long periods within a 28 day cycle for the past 5 years now due to having a fibroid. I've also been craving ice due to iron deficiency thorough summers and winters!
6 months ago I decided to drizzle Molasses (the normal sweeter one) into my ice-cubes, and what a hit!!! I just did it for the iron, but when I had my first and 2nd periods after that, I noticed that my bleeding was not as heavy, but thought it was just my imagination. The 3rd and 4th months my periods went from 11-17 days to only 6-7 days!!! Almost NO pain, and quite a lot less bleeding, especially after the first initial heavy days.
Then I tried ADDING BLACK STRAP MOLASSES to the normal molasses (1:2). This time my bleeding (the 5th period since starting this Molasses journey) just would not stop!! It was SO heavy and SO painful, day 9 was as heavy and painful as day 2-3, and for the first time in years I had to take pain medication! The only thing I had changed was the Black Strap instead of just the normal Molasses.
Then I remembered that the lady at the health shop said that the difference between Black Strap and normal sweet Molasses, is that Black Strap contains SULPHUR. I then read up about sulphur on the internet, and saw that it acts like an ANTI-COAGULANT (which stops your body from stopping bleeding!!) and can cause strong bearing-down pains, which was exactly what I was experiencing! So I immediately stopped the Black Strap and my bleeding immediately slowed down and stopped within 2-3 days.
This past month I've just been on the normal Molasses, and my 6th period has just ended in 6 days again!! I'm SO glad I've discovered this, and can feel my fibroid getting smaller!
WARNING: Just make sure you don't overdose on Molasses!! It was very easy for me to do since I was already in the habit of eating ice all day, and found that by drizzling Molasses into my ice was so delicious that I would often prefer that over food! I was going through 1 BOTTLE (250ml) every 1-2 DAYS!!!
Molasses is very high in iron, copper, etc. These nutrients in high doses can be bad for your liver/pancreas, etc, and yesterday I was extremely weak, shaky, yelow/green/nauseas, with a temperature, after having had diarhoea for 2 days before (could be a sign of iron overdose). I immediately stopped eating my Molasses ice and feel a lot better today.
I think I'm first going to research and find out exactly how much of each nutrient is in Molasses, and how much is safe to take, so that I don't overdose and cause some serious dammage... (Scary!!)
But over-all I'm feeling amazing (before yesterday!) and everyone is saying how much better and healthier I'm looking!
I would like to know though, if most people here are calling 'normal' Molasses: Black Strap Molasses???

No they aren't. You mentioned sulphur being an anti coagulant. Everybody here is talking about unsulphured Black Strap Molasses so there is no sulphur. It is mentioned over and over again. Sugar is supposed to be bad for fibroids so that is probably why they don't use the regular one. I think the BSM is more nutrient dense.

In response to Bonnie in Hamilton, Ontario, many have specified that the black strap molasses **must** be unsulfured for it to have effectiveness. Did you use unsulfured? I'm another victim with the same sad song for years, but I have high hopes and can't wait to try it. Hope it relieves my suffering also. Important Note to Everyone: If this is really working, please be careful about what you say to your medical professionals. We wouldn't want big brother to take it away from us (for instance, the way Lugol's was outlawed, which was used for years to treat our elders thyroid conditions, and other ailments). Fewer med appointments = less money made (less pharms and surgeries sold), could = no more BSM. Don't be foolish to think it can't or won't happen. God Bless to you all, and good luck to everyone in this endeavor.

This is one of the best of many links I have found about problems caused from a Vit. K deficiency. I suggest everyone read it (especially women.) Many people are deficient because of antibiotic use that destroys the flora in the intestines....which produce Vit. K for the body. Easy bruising, blue circles under the eyes, heavy periods, ovarian pain, etc.
