Amanda, in order to prevent gallstones, make sure you're getting adequate Vitamin K2 and magnesium. (It doesn't matter whether you get them from diet or supplement, though K2 is sourced from some exotic foods and many people need to take a supplement for it.) Calcium desposits play a role in gallstone formation. Vitamin K2's primary function is to take calcium out of soft tissues (bloodstream, kidney, gallbladder) and to put the calcium into the places where it should go -- bones and teeth -- via osteocalcins. Magnesium also assists in this process. Thus, Vitamin K2 is a very good way to prevent gallstones, kidney stones, and even artery calcification. It cleans the arteries, strengthens bones, and helps prevent heart disease at the same time.
Additionally, see Earth Clinic's own gallstones cures page (https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/gallstones.html) for more information about gallstones.
