Heartburn: Ginger all the way! Crystallized ginger, a true Jamaican ginger brew (soda), ginger tea, or powdered ginger caps taken with a complimentary herbal tea meant for tummy troubles; it all works. I prefer the crystallized ginger or ginger brew, myself. Soothes beyond the pain/burn; soothes the entire digestive tract. Helps digest whatever might happen to be lingering in the stomach. Removes wind, in both ways, if you catch my drift. I always have some on hand, though I rarely get actual heartburn. It's pretty much good for any type of maldigestion, and good as a preventative, as well.

I have heartburn for months. The medicine gave me allergy. I drank strong ginger tea to temporary cure (immediately) normally. But it has sugar and I don't want to drink too much sugar. So I made my own ginger tea. I blended (blendtec or vitamix) the whole ginger with water. Keep it in the fridge. Pour about 1 cup and add 1 cup of water to bring it to boil. Drink it in the morning and night before bed. I felt a lot better, no heartburn at all. I don't know how long to take to cure the heartburn. I have tried a couple days only.
