I have been taking blackstrap molasses on my oatmeal every morning for about two months. I take about 2 tablespoons and pour it on top of my oatmeal. I did this because I like the taste of molasses and also because I'm anemic. I was looking at my hair this morning and noticed that I really haven't had new gray hair coming in, like I almost always do.

In addition to molasses, I take many supplements, including B vitamins and iodine. But I really didn't see this kind of result until I started the molasses.

Just in case anyone is interested, this is how I prepare the oatmeal. I put about a third cup of steel cut oats into a stoneware round dish with a stoneware top. I pour water into the oats and season with cinnamon and sometimes raisins and nuts. I place this stoneware bowl into a small, 1 quart round crockpot, make sure there's water around the edges of the stoneware insert, and turn it on at night. In the morning I have perfectly cooked oatmeal every time!

Molasses has also helped with energy levels, constipation, and better skin tone. I just feel better when I take molasses in the morning. If I skip oatmeal for any reason, I just stir the molasses into coconut or almond milk.

Blackstrap Molasses for Grey Hair:

BSM always works for me, but I have discovered that, like most remedies, success is based on a lot of other factors. For example, I had anemia, which depleted a lot of nutrients and contributed to my grey hair. A big tablespoon of BSM and Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass or water met this nutritional deficiency, so my hair returned to its normal color. However, if you don't have a nutritional deficiency that would be improved by taking BSM, it might not make a difference. Three years ago, I lost 15-20 pounds taking BSM. My friends started taking it, and they gained weight! But again, it depends on other factors that vary from person to person. For example, I love sugary treats. At that time, I was eating out a lot, and I would always have dessert. But, when I started taking BSM, it satisfied my craving for sugar. As a result, I stopped ordering a slice of cake or pie with my meals, so BSM did help me lose weight because that tablespoon was replacing high-calorie, high-fat slice of chocolate or carrot cake, or apple pie, or whatever. However, none of those friends had a sweet tooth, and they never ordered dessert anyway, so when they took BSM, they were just adding extra calories to their diet. That's why some cures work for some people and not for others.

I've known people who took iron supplements and their anemia did not improve. However, they were taking iron in ferrous form (which is what most drug stores sell) and this causes constipation and is not absorbed by the body. Iron should be taken in chelated form. Also, it should be taken by itself, on an empty stomach, and caffeine hinders its effectiveness. But, if you don't know that, you will just say, "Iron supplements don't work for anemia." Unfortunately, your Dr. probably won't be much help. Once, I asked my OB-GYN for her opinion about Acidopholus for yeast infestions. She told me that's what she takes - but said she could lose her medical license for prescribing it to patients because it's not approved by the FDA. So she prescribes products that she woudldn't use herself.

I understand that that everyone is busy, but I encourage each of you to spend more time researching the causes of your conditions, and also research cures. If 100 people say, "Yes" you may have a different set of circumstances that would put you in the "Nay" category. Also, remember that nature usually doesn't work overnight. When you start a treatment, you need to be patient and consistent. And with most supplements, you need to drink a sufficient amount of water (not just a few gulps). I hope this helps.

I was concerned that my hair was going grey at a rapid rate but within days of taking BSM my hair is thicker and darker, even to the point of after 3 weeks the ends of my hair were grey and the root is dark brown, my natural colour, I have even been asked if I have dyed my hair, I still have some grey hair but BSM seems to have turned the clock back.

Blackstrap molasses really fixes gray hair! This is what I've been doing:

I use Plantation Blackstrap Unsulphured Molasses. You want a molasses with the nutrients in it. Some molasses is just for baked items and the iron and other nutrients are stripped from it. Just look at the label.

I take 2-3 tbs 3 times a day. Just wash it down with milk or coconut milk or something.

I saw results in 24-48 hours. I'm a brunette, and those short gray kinky hairs around my face softened and straightened out and turned light brown. After three days, those hairs darkened a little more and really blended nicely with the rest of my hair.

I stopped taking molasses for three days and on the third day, the gray gradually began to come back.

I think you have to take this every day to keep the gray away.

I hate taking the molasses no matter what it's mixed with lol...

I was chatting to an older guy in his 50s who used to have loads of grey hair. He has been taking Organic Sulphur MSM and had amazing results with almost a full return to his natural colour. I did forget to ask how often he did take it, but worth researching.

I have replaced the sugar in my coffee with BSM, and have been having it in shakes. I have been doing this for 4 days and I SWEAR my greys are already disappearing. I am shocked! Its also a LOW GI sugar, much better for you than normal processed white sugar. You can 100% replace sugar with it.

BSM is working to restore some color to my gray hair. I actually have dark streaks in it now. My husband has decided to take it as well.

BlackStrap Molassas does make your hair darker like it says it does, I am proof of that! I had just colored my hair "blond" and all of a sudden within about I'd say a few days after that, my hair is getting dark all over from the top to the bottom! It does take about 3-4 months for the BlackStrap to kick in but it does work if you are a natural Brunette! I take two tablespoons a day.

I've been using BSM since I found this site 2-3 years ago. Before I started using BSM, I could find about 10-15 white hairs scattered around my head and I could tell I was at the start of becoming completely gray - I was in my early 40's at the time. I started taking 1 tbsp. Of BSM daily, very consistently, in my tea. Around the 3rd month (maybe it was longer), I noticed 2 hairs on my head that had white tips with brown roots. I even showed it to my husband who was extremely skeptical of me taking BSM to cure my gray hairs. My grays were becoming less frequent (I had plucked the previous ones) and was rarely seeing any new grays growing in. There was a period of time when I got sick of taking the BSM, and the white hairs started returning.

So I went back to taking BSM daily, but this time, I made the BSM fudge (equal parts EVCO, BSM and organic nut butter... Along with some added things to make it yummier like raw cashews, chia seeds and hemp seeds) and it's like dessert. I have a few teaspoons of BSM fudge daily and I love the taste of it so I never fail to consume BSM consistently. I rarely ever see any gray. Now I am almost 45 and I don't have any gray. I started telling all my friends about it, and there have been mixed results depending on the level of gray. My sister, who is like me with the scattered grays here and there, started taking it and it works for her. My friend, who has an entire head of gray hair and colors it every 6 weeks, started trying it. After consistently taking it daily and finishing the bottle of BSM, she claims it made her hair grow much faster but didn't change the color back to brown. It annoyed her because she had to color her hair even more often since her hair was growing out so fast taking BSM.

So, I think my conclusion is that BSM works, but you have to take it forever. As soon as you stop, the grays will return. If you are completely gray, it will either not work or you'll get tired of waiting so long to see results. It's a very slow process and you have to be patient. Take BSM if you're just starting to go gray, and I think you'll get positive results from it.

AMAZING! I've been drinking the fresh-squeezed juice of a lemon in water first thing in the morning for a decade (sweetened with stevia). Began this as a sugar- free alternativce to sodas. Noticed my back pain went away and my face that was usally washed-out pale became rosey! So I stuck with it.

Then recently I began adding two tsp apple cider vinegar and organic unsulphured blackstrap molasses to my morning drink (for minerals like copper, and alkalanizing). With ice it's so very refreshing! What I didn't know was happening was my 30% grey at the corners of my forehead was reversing. I've been under a LOT of stress lately and busy and just didn't pay attention till I went to have my hair foils done again and the lady mentioned I only have a few grey hairs here and there over my whole head. I checked in the mirror at home and, sure enough, there are no 30%-grey patches to be found at all!!!

I'm posting here as a way to give back to Earth Clinic because in the past I've used suggestions from here that have either worked or helped me find a combined solution that did. I can't say if it was the BLM or the ACV or the combo with the lemon juice. I do know that at 41 I had lots of grey coming on and at 43 I do not. The only thing to change of late to my already healthy diet (lots of animal fats, meat, raw eggs, raw milk, raw veggies, nuts) was the BLM and ACV in my drink. I have also included more virgin coconut oil in my diet recently but I don't think that would have given enough time for the change... but it's another bit of data in case it proves useful to someone.

Thanks! Now I know why my hair has gone from white to dark blonde and is getting darker! I will keep taking tablespoon of blackstrap molasses EVERY day. I am 84 years old and you can imagine the stares that I get!!!! However, I love it and my hair is so ALIVE, just like a child's new hair. This has happened since the last of April, 2011! My children are almost afraid to ask what I have done! Now I can tell them. I am also eating raw apricot kernels daily to prevent cancer so did not know which to credit the new hairchange to to!!

Due to my hair loss I can't use the conventional hair dyes, however I found taking unsulphured blackstrap molasses 2 teaspoons twice a day for the last 3 weeks has turned all of my grey hair to dark black with reddish pigment. The copper in the molasses helps to change the hair colour. Good Luck

There is an alkalyzing protocol by a man named moreless which uses blackstrap molasses and lemon juice and extremely diluted calcium hydroxide and water and kelp. This protocol has cured many diseases including candida even though there is sugar in the blackstrap molasses; this is due to the fact that candida cannot exist in an alkaline environment; so basically this is about creating the correct ph level in the body. Also I believe it is the lemon juice that activates the minerals in the blackstrap molasses to it can be absorbed. His protocol is on another website so I don't know if I can mention it, so try googling Moreless ph balance, or moreless alkalyzing drink of if interested contact me and I will send the recipe. Also different types of baths are included to also alkalyze, but what I am saying here is that perhaps this is a safe way to take blackstrap molasses because the body is alkalyzed and candida will not be a problem. Moreless is no longer on his old forum but has a new forum, if you can email me do so or I will check back on this post. Starhawk Houston Texas.

Alain posts that BSM is high in potassium. I started supplementing with potassium a few weeks ago to help with muscle aches (for which there's been a huge improvement) and I'm sure my formerly grey hair is returning to its normal colour as the dye grows out. Bonus!

I just got a compliment today. A co-worker asked if I was coloring my hair. I told her it was the black strap molasses that I have been consuming regularily... I guess it does work!
