Tea Tree Oil

★★★★★

I suffered miserably for months with anal itch. I don't know how it came about, it wasn't poor hygeine or anything that can be explained. I went to my physician, a specialist and was prescibed several medications that only made the situation worse. They couldn't explain it either. They just said keep the area dry. The itch was insane, I would come home from work and literally sit in front of the computer researching for hours how to beat my pain. It started in August, it ended in recently this June. TEA TREE OIL. Don't dillute it. 3-5 drops on a cotton ball, hold to the area for 1 minute. Wait five minutes then apply some corn starch to the area. twice a day should work, or as many times as needed. Yes it will burn at first, BUT it is followed with a cooling sensation. In some instances the itch comes on for a few minutes because it is such a strong astringent that it may irritate the skin.

An example of how this works: I had gone on a horrible drinking binge this past thursday followed by 3 cups of coffee that friday. Alcohol and Coffee are horrible for my condition. Once I go to the bathroom, I'm itching all day. Anyway, I had a date that night and didn't want to break it. Half way through the date I couldn't even think straight and was clearly bothered by the itching. I was ready to call it a night, but we decided to go shopping at the mall. I couldn't take it anymore so I thought I would buy some tea tree oil (knowing that it worked previously) and run to the mens room to apply it. Luckily a local nutrition store had it. Thanks to the Tea Tree oil the date continued for another 3 hrs, my tush felt 100 percent better... God Bless this oil.

Highly Recommended.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

I had a very bad case of Candida last winter. It was extremely harsh. My crotch and butt were itchy and sometimes burned, my mood was agitated, I was suffering from insomnia. To finally get rid of the ailment, I went on a sugar-free diet and took some medication from my doctor. This was great. It killed all the candida within days. My problem then became a severe flu, as my body was not getting rid of the dead candida fast enough. My body was basically experiencing toxic shock. I took tons of fiber, drank gallons of water over several days. This finally made me feel better. Now, I just take Grapefruit seed extract in water every few days to keep the candida at bay. It is very effective at eliminating candida after it has set in as well, but you should take a diuretic to get the dead candida out of you. For candida, take 5-6 drops of GSE in 20oz of water. Drink in one sitting. Do this once each day for 3 days. May cause heartburn. If so, water down the dosage or use fewer drops (3-4).

Wheatgrass

★★★★★

Wheatgrass powder, taken orally, is currently may favourite remedy for anal itch. One heaped teaspoon mixed in with water or vegetable juice, and drink this once or twice a day. I haven't tested this out with barley grass powder, but I expect it should work too.

For me it is most important to take at night as that's when it is the worst for me. I actually get really sensitive to sugar and simple carbs like rice at night, and that's the main reason. Some kind of dysbiosis in the gut causing the itch and the wheatgrass is helping that somehow.

Well, there are lots of things it could be, could be fungus and you can buy fungal creams for women at Walmart near the pads, cool it right down. Could be liver issues and then you need to eat a nice healthy oil to produce bile to digest B vitamins. Could be you eat hot sauce and got fire on the butt. Cool that down with some baking soda . Witch hazel is used for sutures pain. Gotta be careful here to treat the problem.

Can do a sitz bath with some mineral salts. Clove would numb it. What is going on in your sigmoid.....maybe some Colace store brand at Walmart is inexpensive, clear the lower bowel incase fermenting is going on. Maybe you have a prolapse and those are a pain in the butt, I can tell you firsthand. Dhea or progesterone cream or vitamin D with k, or maybe some magnesium, (Epson salt soak).

Lets see what could be the source...do you have any tips that might pin it down? Alpha lipoic acid stops nerve pain and B vitamins help. How much stress do you have? Ashwaganda maybe calm that down. Oh yeah I just remembered there is a vaginal numbing cream like anbasol for the vagina at Walmar . Saved my day a few times. Hate pain. If it's parasites, you need to do copper or borax. Maybe diaper cream that has zin . Okay I'm out of ideas, I did my best to brainstorm with you but you gotta give me some hints.

Under Ailments on this website look up Candida.

I had various symptoms of Candida including yours. I also had psoriasis on top of everything. Not natural, but I finally took Nystatin internally and Fluocinonide topically for the psoriasis. The Nystatin took care of all the symptoms. You can try going all out on the natural treatments first, which I did, but my symptoms were too severe and unbearable.

Aloe vera helps with the anal itch. You can also drink aloe vera. Have you tried a cleanse? Sounds like you have candida overgrowth.

Is it possible you have a pinworm parasitic infestation? They lay eggs on the anus at night and cause itching.

Supplements

I've had anal itch for a decade. A Decade! I tried lots. Spent lots. Recently I began taking some supplements. After about 2 weeks I suddenly realized I hadn't been itching. It's been 3 months now and I'd say the improvement is 95%. The supplements I took had grapeseed extract and devils claw among others. 'm not thrilled with the cost of the vitamins but maybe this information will help you in some way. Now, the eczema behind my ear hasn't improved one iota. All this time I figured the itch was related.

Keep on trucking for that! I've been waiting years hoping one day to write a review here and say this. Such relief.

Anal Itch - Hydro Therapy (hot water)

Some people seem to be prone to this problem.

First of all make sure that you resolve any intestinal issue like fungus or parasites. In my case, I was clear of all of these things, but still the itch persisted.

I have been a student of natural medicine for many years and so I tried everything with very limited results.

Aloe Vera, ACV, coconut oil, witch hazel, comfrey ointment, all kinds of natural ointments, natural soaps and nothing worked very well.

In a moment of inspiration, I remembered that someone had posted that hot water relieved poison ivy, so I thought I would give it a try.

Amazingly...this worked better than anything else that I have tried.

To do it effectively, you need a good hand held shower head with a strong massage setting. Simply run the water hot but not scalding. You can gradually increase the heat, but don't over do it. Apply the hot water to the sensitive area using the massage jet setting. I do this every morning in the shower, with the best results that I have ever had.

Garlic

I suffered with anal itch for more than 2 1/2 years. I went to the doctor was tested for pinworms and parasites. The pinworm test came back negative but I took the medication anyway.

I tested positive for blastocystis parasite. My doctor said that most people aren't affected by this parasite but gave me the medication for it anyway.

I was so relieved that something was found and couldn't wait to take the medication. This was after more than 2 years and 3 doctors.

Nothing happened with the medication. Still itching...

I swear I was going to lose my mind if I couldn't get the itching to stop.

Over time I tried most of the remedies mentioned here. One day I went into a health store to get another one of the remedies mentioned (I can't remember which one). I told the person in the store what my problem was and he recommend garlic suppositories.

I sprinted to the grocery store to get the garlic. Tried it that night and had instant relief. The itching would come back about 2 days after a movement so I did it a few times in a row.

I've had no itching for 3 months now!!!

I tried a lot of different things, nothing seemed to help until I tried Lotrimin AF (the orange one for athlete's foot). This is 1% Clotrimazol, don't use Generic and don't use the yellow Lotrimin. Get the orange Lotrimin AF. This stuff worked like a charm. Apply 3 times a day until itch is relieved. I think I only had to do this for 3-5 days.

Other product I've used is Balneol, which helps reduce irritation a lot. It doesn't take away the itching, but it can prevent some of the irritation, which causes the itching.

Good luck.

That's because most anal itching is caused by a fungus, the coconut oil is an antifungal.

Eliminate Coffee
Posted by Stevesall (Renton, Wa) on 07/28/2018

Hey gang, it's me again, Stevesall, the guy who started this itchy, inflamed butt string. I'm glad to see my idea worked for several people. I have more good news to share. I discovered that organic Honduran coffee from Trader Joes, did not cause inflammation or itching, but recently discovered TJs discontinued it at my store - bummer. So I did a search on Amazon and found an organic Honduran coffee - a different brand. I haven't tried it yet, but hopefully it is butt friendly. You know what else burns? A flame about 3 feet high!

Alkalize
Posted by Naturedoc (Los Angeles, California) on 01/15/2012
★★★★★

I too found much of the feedback on anal burning & itching very funny.. Though I know its very a very personal & distressing problem. My experience is that its usually due to

a. general acidity of the system:

this can be remedied quite quickly by drinking plenty of raw vegetable juice made & drunk right away.. Especially carrot with a green apple & a little fresh ginger added. And, an enema with warm water with a 1/4cup of liquid chlorophyll added.

You'll be amazed how 'miraculously' the burning will disappear.

b. worms

Believe it or not, worms in the colon (large intestine) are more common than one would imagine. In this case Before breakfast, 3 cloves of raw garlic, chopped well & left to sit out on the chopping board

for 15mins, then swallowed down with a glass of water.. (3 Beanos tabs taken with will prevent gas)

then eat a bowl of oatmeal or toast for breakfast.

The garlic taken as above every morning for 7 days will kill any invaders, & help to lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels. Plus its a marvelous anti fungal, anti viral & anti bacterial. Again, take the warm water enema with the added 1/4cup of liquid chlorophyll once a day (I recommend Dr. Jensens liquid chlorophyll). Topically I have found applying a warm moist wash cloth to the rectal area followed with a good smear of wheat germ oil is very soothing. As another person mentioned Virgin Coconut oil is also very helpful

..However, alkalising the system with fresh vegetable juices (not fruit), & relieving the bowel of some of its waste with a simple natural non painful enema (as mentioned in the Bible) is THE solution in my opinion. (one can buy the hotwater bottle with enema attachments at any big pharmacy)

MSM, Raw Garlic
Posted by PB (Vancouver, BC, Canada) on 07/03/2009
★★★★★

Anal Itch remedy: 5gm MSM/ 2 cloves raw garlic, taken 2x per day at the beginning of a meal.

This webpage should mention that Pinworms cause anal itching. Pinworms cause itchy butt by depositing a gel around the anus, where they lay their eggs. Butt scratching is an important part of the pinworm lifecylce. If itchy butt wakes you up at night -- you probably have pinworms.

I struggled with anal itch for 10+ years, finding many remedies that cleared symptoms temporarily. I've also tried numerous 'parasite cleanse' remedies, including zapper. I was even tested for parasites and declared "clear". Yet, itching would recur, soon.

On a recent trip to India, I discussed my problem with an ayurvedic doctor who diagnosed me with "worms", and prescribed an ayurvedic deworm remedy (krimighnavatika) -- which I took for four months. After two months symptoms had mostly disappeared. This is the longest I had been without symptoms since I could remember. But the symptoms returned when I got off the medicine. I believe the doctor's diagnoses about "worms" to be correct... he told me that the longer I'd been infested (i.e. how many worms and eggs I have inside me) -- the longer I'd have to take the medicine. Four months was not enough.

This confirmed to me that I had worms that were not cleared by western style natural health parasite cleanse methods. I've lived and traveled extensively in Central America and in Asia, and I guess I have something from there that isn't seen that often in N.A. and Europe.

I could not afford to take the ayurvedic medicine indefinitely. Searching the internet for "deworm" remedies, I encountered a veternary sites that were discussing alternate therapies for worm infestations in livestock. In some searches, there was overlap in discussions between livestock and humans. Somewhere along the line, I ran across a site discussing MSM, administered in super doses causing a choking effect on worms.

That site recommended 5gm dissolved in a few ounces of water taken right before the main morning meal and again before the main evening meal. Then with those meals, 2 raw cloves of garlic, finely chopped, or crushed. (I butter a slice of bread, spread the garlic over the butter, and add a slice of cheese... yummy ... and a good antidote for the bitter MSM drink). Don't take more than 4 raw cloves per day -- too much will inflame your stomach and cause cramping. You can eat as much thoroughly cooked garlic as you want in addition to the raw garlic.

You stay on this regimen until symptoms subside, then slowly reduce the dose. MSM advocates recommend MSM be used daily (1gm) for health maintenance. Claims are made that it helps move blood to joints, hairs, and nails, and also lubricates cell linings allowing toxins to be more easily removed (which is how it clears worms). I can also claim that, at age 53, my beard has started growing faster, and much less hair falls out in the shower!

I have had astounding results with this method -- for the first few weeks there were worms appearing in my bowel movements every few days... about 4 different shapes. I haven't found any worm/parasite images anywhere on the internet to match them to. The most common type is not a worm at all, but looks like a tiny jellyfish, maybe 5mm across. I expect there's probably stuff I can't see coming out as well -- the ones I've seen are all white. I've only seen one mixed in with fecal matter. I hadn't had a worm show up in weeks, then this morning I had one about an inch long -- so it's still not over -- but I'm managing with out the ayurvedic medicine, and I'm happy about that.

While I used to be awoken at night by itching, now itch only occurs after a bm. But the degree of itching after BM has subsided considerably. I have also made significant lifestyle changes... Asian style hygiene in the bathroom (i.e. wipe with water) ... always brush fingers and under nails after using bathroom, and before handling food. Avoid handling food with hands, avoid touching face with hands.

I can say whatever I have is not communicable (unlike pinworms, which are easily transferred to anybody you touch with your hands)... been in two relationships during these years, and neither partner picked up my parasites.

Yes. I detest the smell of apple cider vinegar -- it makes me nauseous because as a child my mother made me rinse my hair after shampooing to make it shiny and manageable. When I read about the anal itch cure with it I'd been using expensive products. It hurts when applied but OVERNIGHT the itch is GONE!

I'm sorry your bum is the cause of so much pain. I suffered for a year with your affliction, but I found the cure.

1. ) Use only Tucks Hemorrhoidal Medicated Pads, or better yet, a generic brand.

2. ) Take 1 Loratadine (10 mg) per day. (Or, if you want the name brand, buy Claritin and enrich the capitalists.)

This will help you. Your life will be better.

Yours Truly,

A Formerly Itchy Comrade

Kidney Beans

This is an odd remedy! When I eat kidney beans (usually mexi beans) the itchy bum goes away. I only need to eat about 2-4 teaspoons of it a day and it keeps the itch away. Get some mexican beans and give it a try, their yummy so why not (= just make sure they aren't using some other type of bean.

Background - I have diagnosed autoimmune issues, in particular Ankylosing Spondylitis ("AS" .. in remission). Associated with AS are some gut issues like Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis. I am not diagnosed with the gut issues but I suspect maybe some mild form.

In my case sugar and alcohol generally make the itch worse, especially at night. However eating kidney beans protects me from both.

Gluten-Free Diet

★★★★★

A reduced gluten diet is good… but a sugar-free diet..at least until a person is cured ...is better.

2 parts that helped cure my itchy bum.
Internally: You must stop eating/drinking anything with sugar. This is coming from the guy who used to devour Krispy Kreme dounuts like cookies. But if you are serious about stopping this itch, then trust me and go sugar-free; at least until you stop scratching for awhile.

Eat Green Food and Drink Green Juice. I had a box of AG1 greens and drunk a pack every day. This will improve your digestive health and gut health. Wheat Grass is also cool. Also add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to anything you drink…at least twice a day. I added it to my tea every night in addition to a little bit of coconut oil. It has theascetic acid that provides the anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties your body needs.

I also cut a small piece of garlic in half and swallow each one; you can also buy garlic pills but the fresher ones are more potent. And I would eat salads with arugala and it would be nasty because I would not add any dressing or sauce that might have sugar. Google The Strongest Candida Killers in the Anti-Candida Diet for more things you should eat.

Externally: I tried a lot of creams in the anal area to stop the itching including one that costs $50 called pranicura. It did soothe the area in the beginning, but Im not sure if its the cause of a rash I developed a couple of days later. I had to get a prescriptionfrom the doctor for an anti-fungal powder version of Nystatin.

The natural thing that appeared to have worked for me was a little bit of apple cider vinegar in the itchy spot. ACV on a paper towel will burn your butt…but, it will be so worth it afterwards. Follow it up with something cooling like hazel witch ointment or Destin or some kind of cream that you probably have used before; only this time its teaming up with ACV to beat the hell out of this itch.

Omega 3 is one remedy that works really well for me as a remedy for anal itch. It was most noticeable for me that the symptoms improved the next morning after eating a nice big salmon steak with skin on for dinner. Fish oil works well too, of course, you will need quite a large dose to make it work. I would need about 3000mg (3grams) of fish oil as a remedy, taken at night with dinner.

Bidet for anal itch.

Yes this works. You can use a squeeze bottle filled with water also, and use that after using toilet paper (or instead of paper, or just use the paper to dry up). Also a long hot bath will help too when it really acts up.

This addresses the topical irritation caused by dysbiosis (bad gut flora). However since the root cause is in the gut / flora this can also be addressed by using 8+ strain probiotics; avoiding sucrose - especially at night; and also by getting both more rest AND exercise. Addressing the symptom is fine, but getting to the root cause is even better.

I had anus yeast and the doctor ordered Nystatin Cream and Antifungal Powder with Miconzole Nitrate. Neither one was productive. The itch got worse. I read about tea tree oil which I had. I also had peppermint oil. Accidently I started using the peppermint oil mixed with water. I used a very little amount of oil and a good amount of water. At first it burned but a few minutes later the burning went away as well as the itching. I never seen this remedy for yeast but it worked for me. I used a spray bottle to put it on and avoided contact with the vagina area.
