Rubbing Alcohol

I have used rubbing alcohol to fend off itching in the groin, but it always caused a lot of pain. I don't know what was different this time -- concentration, something else on my skin (witch hazel?) but the pain was really bad. I tried washing it off in the shower, which helped but didn't eliminate the pain. I put on some healing cream and later tried some baby powder -- don't know if anything made the situation worse, but the pain continued and eventually I noticed signs of burning - the redness remained very bad, there was some blistering, sort of like a sunburn -- dry, crinkly skin that peeled and of course ongoing pain. Wish I knew what made the reaction so bad, but at any rate, before trying this popular remedy I would suggest testing with a small amount.

I have used rubbing alcohol for a month and nothing went away. The only thing the alcohol did was make me in more pain every morning when I woke up and had been scratching at it in my sleep.
