It's 8pm and at 6:45 pm I drank 4 oz. of fresh squeezed lemon juice followed by 4 oz. of extra virgin olive oil, followed by 1 liter of H2O.
My kidney stone pain was at about a 5/10, now it's at a 2/10. This is my second bout with the pesky buggers and a nurse I spoke with on the phone refused to even make me an appointment, rather, she insisted that I come to the emergency room tonight. I can't afford to, so I was planning on coming home and drinking a few beers-which also helped me with my first go round. However, I didn't like the side effects (drunkeness for a light weight like me).
This remedy is AMAZING!! I'm going to have another lemon juice EVOO elixer before bed. Gracias a Dios!

Francisca is on the money here. Apart from Barry Groves' "2nd Opinion" site everyone should read David Gillespie's book "Big Fat Lies" about the evils of sugar [as fructose, not glucose] and polyunsaturated oils and margarines. Fructose is a leading cause of excess uric acid production. Polyunsaturated oils are unstable at room [body] temperature and overwhelm the body's antioxidant defences. Between them they are responsible for the epidemic of "metabolic syndrome" diseases we see today, which have arisen in tandem with the consumption of fructose in sodas and juices and processed foods, etc. There is also the trouble caused by "excitotoxins". Look it up.
I have had kidney stones since I was 26 separated by up to 10 years of symptom free gaps.
I have had lithotripsy once which successfully dissolved a large stone, but left me with high blood pressure [a known side effect] Worse, doing litho on both kidneys together can lead to diabeties!
I have never tried many of the remedies here discussed but as a preventative I drink lemon/lime water every morning, and during the day as well. I have gone 9 years symptom free, but I have some small stones.
I would like to say that my calcium oxalate stones have come out like little rubbery nodules, but go rock hard on drying out. Also I don't believe they dissolve in the body, but what may happen is that the material that causes them to clump into bigger stones may dissolve so the small grains can pass?
Great site, this.

Day three: with the urulogist appointment fast approaching I am amping up the oo/lj combo. Results from last night were similar to the first night: some grit in my pee but no major activity. Today, with no meds, I am relatively pain free... Some minor discomfort but not the level I'd expect from having 6 stones out of my kidneys in ureter. Having to be at work for 11 hours a day, I can't always strain my pee so I don't know if I've passed any or not. Usually I know when they pass though, but without knowing for sure, I'd say I haven't passed anything yet.

Just to update on my case. CT scan came back normal. No stone was seen.
Doc said not to worry, everything's fine and suggests that it probably is my muscle/nerves.
Bah. I am taking it 50%, because I still have a dull bilateral flank pain.
So, I just need to relax and monitor how things are in the future.
This sucks really.

I'm so glad I decided to give this remedy a try! I was up last night with kidney stone pain. I knew that's what it was as I've had them in the past, and one time I even had to have surgery with basket removal to remove a large one. I am currently BFing my daughter, so the thought of Rx pain meds or surgery was not appealing to me. I ran across this site and the olive oil lemon juice remedy and thought I would give it a try. So... At 4AM I drank 1T OO and 2T cold lemon juice and approx 32 oz water. It was awful tasting, but by 530AM I was asleep with no pain. I'm not sure what it's doing to the stone, but I'm just so happy the pain is gone :). I'll try it again with 2T OO/2T LJ tonight. Thanks again for posting this remedy. I'm so happy I decided to try it!

KIDNEY STONES: 2 oz lemon juice, 2 oz olive oil, 1-2 x a day for 3 days until stone passed. (Don't do more than this or you might get sick/nauseous. Absolutely no pain. AMAZING!! CURED!! I don't need to add to the hundreds already here, but here's the story. My husband is a physician, we KNEW what the pain was. It was 3 days of intense pain for my husband. The only thing that helped was breathing exercises. My husband was in tears, he felt intense nausea, and we finally broke down and went to the ER to get something for the pain b/c he was missing his first day of work in a new job. Even after getting morphine, he was crumpled on the floor in screaming pain. my mother called to tell about Lemon juice, we asked the Dr. and of course he had no idea about it, so we left with a $5,000 bill...for nothing. Went straight to the store, with my husband crying in the car (he NEVER cries), got the lemons, and there was no more pain and it passed 3 days later. Crazy. His was about 3 mm, calcium stone. THANK YOU EARTH CLINIC!

Two thumbs up for the lemon juice and olive oil remedy for calcium stones (previous stones analyzed were confirmed to be calcium. ) I did add a squirt of honey and about 2 oz. Of cranberry juice to the mixture, just to be able to swallow it. Next day I had strange "worm-like" movement sensations from kidney all the way down to bladder with no pain. Hurray! I think I will drink the concoction weekly to ward off new formations as I must take calcium supplements for my osteoporosis. THANK YOU EARTH CLINIC! For saving me the pain and also thousands of dollars in doctor and hospital bills!!!

WOW - you people on this website are amazing. I really think this had to be a bunch of pookey dust (i.e., lemon juice and olive oil). I've had the weirdest symptoms for 2 weeks (first week was a weird combination of fever and chills every night followed by a second week of great discomfort and finally absolute pain last night down somewhere in my urinary tract.). At first I thought may be I was having a problem with my prostate and then for last several days I figured I was having a bad uirnary tract infection). It's now 4:30 a.m. (as I write) and at 3 a.m. I finally work up (again with the pain) and thought, maybe I'm passing a stone or something. So I found this website and thought, 'what the heck i'll give this crazy potion a try' before heading off to the hospital later today. So I squeezed out a lemon through in a bunch of olive oil, chugged it, and then chugged about 4 large glasses of water behind it(thinking these people on the website must be nuts, those that say something'll happen in 30 minutes) and honest to god, not even 20 minutes later, I had to pee and watched carefully and out plunked a 'thing' with my pee, looked to me like an old filling from a tooth but a little smaller, so I guess this is a stone, eh? I never would've believed this nonsense would work. All I can say is thanks-a-billion for this website. These past 2 weeks have been a real pain (honestly I was thinking I had something really bad and that it probably wasn't something as simple as a stone). I'm 50 years old - so i guess I probably should've figured it out sooner, but what can I say this was my first one, so the thought didn't occur to me. You guys are brilliant.

I've experienced the joy of kidney stone attacks for 12 years off and on, (33 yr male). Monday I spent the night in ER with a return visit Wednesday. Friday the urologist scheduled me for surgery with enthusiasm, I might add. Disgusted at the thought of the invasive procedure and the $$$$, I searched the web for any sign of hope. Friday I found your site. At 12pm I took a shot of the "tonic" 3oz olive oil, 3oz lemon juice. Not bad taste. Followed it with 1 liter of water over the next 5-10 minutes. Before bed (about 9pm) I took another shot, 2oz. olive oil, 2oz. lemon juice - followed by about 1 liter of water over next 10 minutes. I was still having back pain and discomfort to a slightly lesser degree but it was tolerable unlike the previous 4-5 consecutive days. Next morning (9am) I took my third shot 2oz. olive oil, 2oz lemon juice, followed by lots of water throughout the morning. Frequenting the bathroom often over the course of the morning, I noticed my "flow" was increasing in pressure and ease. HAPPY to announce, at 12:30pm I birthed my largest stone to date: a 4 mil jagged, ugly dude. However I did it with the slightest of discomfort. I will return to the urologist on Monday bearing the bad news for him; no car payment from my surgery. Thank You for the help, I will return to your site in the future and spread the word. -Aaron-

In my opinion, the reason your stone moved only a bit (without passing) in 5 days on using this "treatment" is because you only followed it with the cup of water. In all other posts of positive results, they all drank close to 1L= 32oz of water. Lemon juice is acid and breaks down the calcium stone (80% of kidney stones are made of calcium) and plenty water is used to flush it out fast. But you could as well be the 20% case where this remedy might not work.

Hi. 53 yr old male. Got my first stone out of the blue on Sat. 12/8. Had no idea what was going on, pain was excruciating but stopped after 4 hours. Thought maybe a stone, but when pain stopped I didn't know for sure. No pain at all Sunday or Mon. am. Around 3 pm Mon. pain started again, more gradual then pretty sore. Called my primary-sent me to ER. IV killed pain, CT scan said 4MM stone. Go home and drink, with percocet for pain. Drank Mon night, all day Tues, probably 2 gallons, all morning Wed. no pain, no stone passed. Found this site and said what the hell. Mixed and drank the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Lemon Juice, 2oz,each at 2:30 Pm. Kept drinking water all evening and through the night, whenever I had to get up to urinate. Got up Thurs. 5:15 am, urinated (what else) had breakfast, still no pain no stone. About 6:30 am had urge to urinate, after having gone 15 mins. earlier, out pops stone, completely painlessly!! I have no idea if it was the mix or the 3 days of water, but whatever it was it worked. I am probably the most skeptical person you could find re: home remedies, but as someone else said, give it a try, what do you have to lose (except a stone!)

I suffered from a Kidney stone for 20 days, I went to the hospital on January 1st and I thought I had passed it about three days later because the pain went away but about a week later the pain came back and remained for two weeks straight except it was further down in my bladder and groin area. I was in misery, I didn't know what to do. I didn't want surgery, and I still had another two weeks for my dr. appt. to the Urologist and I didn't want to go back up to the Emergency room so.. I tried the 2 onces of Olive Oil and 2 onces of lemon Juice, with a glass of water, of course it isn't pleasant to drink, but if you hold your breathe and drink it fast, you can drink it down fast.... it was amazing for me... I took it at about 11pm and passed my stone by 5am in the morning. My stone was already in my bladder so it was ready to come out so I am sure that was why it was so fast. But I am so relieved to get it out. I didn't want to suffer any more.... Thanks to the people who put this cure out there..

Banana Stem Juice is supposed to be a very effective way of breaking or making the stone smaller. I have tried it and it worked for me.
EC: More info on banana stem juice...
Source: http://www.keralaayurvedics.com/media/articles/urinary-infection-causes-and-ayurvedic-remedies.html
"Juice from banana stem (banana stem juice) is effective in treating a variety of urinary infections and to dissolve kidney, prostrate and gall bladder stones. Banana stem is the core of banana plant. Remove the leaf bracts to reach the banana stem that runs from the base of the plant and ends at the banana bunch. Crush the stem with any solid material to extract the juice. Drink a glass each in the morning and evening. The juice from leaf bracts are of no use in this regard.
Taking banana stem juice (vazhappindi neeru in Malayalam) is single best remedy for all types of kidney stones."

Sangeetha, it might be that the olive oil is too laxative for you and also some people can't digest oils very well. When my brother gets kidney stones he just mixes lemon juice with water and drinks that on and off during the day. Like lemonade but without the sweetener. He might have a little bit of olive oil on a salad, but that's it. He also drinks lots of plain water throughout the day. Every time he gets a kidney stone he does this and they always pass. Hope this helps you.

My dear boyfiend Bob was suffering with a kidney stone. His urologist did a treatment where he pushed a strawlike tube(under local anesthesia) up Bob's private part and into his urinary tract in the hopes of dislodging/removing his kidney stone. The doctor only pushed the stone back up into his bladder. Doctor Wonderful then advised Bob to set up an appointment to get put to sleep and the doc would use a large instrument to grasp the stone. Bob wasn't thrilled with this idea because after the first session he had some bleeding and burning upon urination which was very uncomfortable. Anyway...as a loving friend that I am, I went online and saw the remedy of olive oil and lemon juice. Bob followed the instructions. 2 ounces of EVO (as Rachel Ray would say) extra virgin oil and l squeezed lemon. He drank it down like 2 shots of liquor. After 24 hours when he went tinkle, he felt a stinging pain in his lower groin, and a couple of hours later while urinating he passed a brownish rough edged stone the size of a green pea. I was stunned by the size of it, (I'm sure they can be larger), but the fact that such a hard stone of that size can pass through a male's penis. So...it can be done and this is my testimony. Try it before or while you see these medical guys to shove stuff up your privates, and possibly do more damage. What can it hurt. Oh...Bob did say he was burping up the taste of olive oil and felt a little nauseaus, but nothing unbearable. He is so relieved...me too and I don't want to see my loved ones suffer!!! Thank you.

Good Day! I am a Filipino expatriate working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As I experienced having kidney stone attack is quite painful. It happened to me at two in the morning. Thanks to my colleague for driving me to hospital. The attending nurse injected pain remover to ease the excruciating pain. The next day in my x-ray, there we found the culprit of my pain, a stone in my kidney. The doctors asked me which I prefer laser or medicine treatment. I choose the long process of medicine treatment. He gave me three kinds of tablets and capsules. Back to my work, I tried to check from internet the best treatment for kidney stone. Thanks, God I found Earth Clinic and this wonderful cocktail treatment. As soon as I reached our house, immediately I made this 2 OZ OF LEMON JUICE AND 2 OZ OF OLIVE OIL. The next day while I am on duty the stone 07 mm in size passed at around 18 hours after the cocktail treatment. It is great to be healthy again. Thanks God and thanks earth clinic. By the way, my doctor will surely miss my appointment with him.

I had a kidney stone in the past that kept me in the hospital for 3 days drugged up the whole time before it passed. I started getting pains on Saturday morning and by Saturday night I was thinking oh brother here we go again!!!!! By 2 a.m. I was surfing the internet and paying people for "Miracle Cures". By Sunday morning I was fatigued and worn out but still trying to avoid the E.R. and make it till Monday morning to see my doctor. I gave the internet one more try looking for home remedies you didn't have to pay for and stumbled across this web page. I drank the potion at 9 pm and by 9:20 all pain had disappeared and I was one happy camper again!!!! It is now the next day and the stone has not passed but there is still no pain!! Thank you for this web page and advice. I will be trying other remedies I found here also.

Spent the weekend in the ER with excruciating abdominal pain - the day a routine colonoscopy. CAT scan and cause turned out to be.. You guessed it.. a 4mm kidney stone.
I suspect that the colonoscopy preparation pills: OsmoPrep (Sodium Phosphate) may be related to this stone since a work colleague had the exact same issue a month ago with same pills. Beware!!
Anyway, I suffered in total agony for two days. All the docs could offer up was Oxycodone painkiller (awful and somewhat ineffective) and sit it out for a "week or so". Clearly not an option plus I have a busy job and could not be out of the office that long. Since I used to be a research scientist I decided to use the web for some ideas on remedies.
Ended up on this site. Based on reading all the posts it seems that of the 5 types of kidney stone three of the most common are dissolvable by acidifying the urine so I decided to try the Olive Oil and Lemon Juice remedy (Apple Cider vinegar was just too much for me to handle - it's like drinking paint stripper). No downside except throwing up or stopping if the pain got worse (I guess it might if you have stones that dissolve in alkaline urine)
Somewhat skeptical, but I bought the most expensive virgin olive oil I could find (which tastes OK in bulk actually) and then dosed myself with 4oz Olive Oil stirred vigorously into 4oz of pure lemon juice (bottled). Based on what I have read elsewhere I think the olive oil lipids coat the lemon juice and get it through the stomach acid and into the small intestine where it is adsorbed very rapidly - which may explain the speed of what came later...
You have to chug it down immediately after mixing before the oil and juice separate - a blender might be a good idea - and I chased it with a very large glass of water without pausing to taste the mixture. Don't stop to think about it just chug it down and think about something else.
Then - MIRACLE - pain went from a 10 (bad) to a 1 (minimal) within 10 minutes. I could not believe it. I never needed a painkiller thereafter.
I repeated the dose after a couple of hours and then a third dose just before going to bed around 4 hours after that. I guess there is some upper limit to what you can take but you probably throw up or something. Anyway, only mild discomfort in the morning.
Repeated the dose three times on day two and urinated through a plastic tea strainer throughout to watch for dissolved stone fragments as other posters recommend. At the end of day two I got a small sliver of what I assume to be a partially dissolved kidey stone about 4mm by 0.5mm in the strainer but no other solid material passed that day or later.
Day three back to work and feel as good as new. UNBELIEVABLE. My doc couldn't believe it - but they took the fragment and are going to test it to see which type of kidney stone it was. I am thinking calcium oxalate. Here are two really good sources for kidney stone information:

5 days while at work I had gotten a sharp pain in my lower back and left side just under my rib cage. The pain was enormous. I thought that I had gas and drank a can of ginger ale. The pain did go away for about 2 hours. Later that night I had gotten a bad attack. I stuffed myself with gas x and mylanta and suffered all night. The next morning i woke feeling like i was hit by a truck but had no pain in my back or side. My family members suggested that maybe I had a kidney stone, but i had no pain. Needless to say later night I found myself in the emergency room. The pain was unbearable. When i entered they instantly said kidney stone. Well they were right. They did a cat scan and said it was a 4 mm and it was in a good position and that i should pass it soon. Well soon felt like an eternity. The pain was so bad that i was going out of my mind. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't sit down, I couldn't lay down. Every time i drank water or cranberry juice the pain would get worse. My stomach would blow up, I would then urinate followed by a pulsating stabbing in my whole left side. Well anyone who is going through this knows what I am talking about. When I woke up with lots of blood in my urine I went to the doctors office. I told him that percasets were not working so he gave me vicadine but nothing relieved the pain. Thank God my brother stumbled across this web site. When I read all the good reviews I figured there was nothing I could lose. Last night at 1 am I felt the pain coming on strong. I then mixed 2 ounces of lemon juice and 2 ounce of olive oil. I was scared it would make the pain worse but it didn't. I drank it quickly followed by a large glass of water. I was surprised that the taste wasn't bad at all and it wasn't as thick as I anticipated. I was also loaded up on pain killers just in case. Within minutes of drinking this I felt almost a soothing of my side. I was still in much discomfort for most of the night. Finally at 6 am I fell asleep. 1 hour later at 7 am I woke and felt like I had to go to the bathroom but it also felt like something was trying to come out. I rushed to bathroom and it just slipped out. No pain.. NO PAIN... NO MORE PAIN. It was a sharp little thing mixed with some blood. The pain was gone. For anyone going through this try, it immediately 2 ounce lemon juice mixed with 2 ounces of olive oil. When you feel the pain drink it fast followed by a full glass of water. Within 6 hours my pain was gone. I don't know why the doctors don't tell you to do this. I guess they just want to make some money.

On Monday my husband called me at work and said that he had a horrible pain in his back. He went to the doctor and was told that it was most likely a kidney stone, the doctor gave him some pain killers and told him to drink lots of water and it would go away some time in the next two weeks. For three days my husband laid in the bed in a drug induced sleep because that was the only was he could stand the pain. On the fourth day I went to my computer and did a search engine for kidney stones and found this site. My husband was willing to try anything to get rid of the pain. He drank the olive oil and lemon juice about 6:00pm on Thursday and by 6:00am on Friday he had passed the stone. This not only saved my husband's sanity but mine as well. THANKS!!!

That's great news! I've been trying to determine if the same process would work with gall stones...what are your thoughts on that? I have a gall stone...it grew from 3mm to 5mm within a year or so and I'm a bit concerned as my sister passed of gall bladder cancer - I've read once a stone reaches 10mm it's more likely to become cancer.
