Pityriasis Rosea

I have had pityriasis for over a year now, it's not as bad as it was for the first 10 months, but they just keep popping up. Sunlight seems to help more than anything I've tried, I've also tried laying under a black light with some luck.

For your mouth and body as a whole try Oil Pulling. Google it. It is great for the entire body because it removes toxins. Continue doing it twice daily. Go on a yeast free diet. Clean every single thing in your home and continue to disinfect everything as the days pass.
Continue to treat the candida with a variety of potions including oregano oil, coconut oil, epsom salt and baking powder poltices, etc. Yeast is a living organ that mutates and mimics other diseases. You have to be persistent. Eventually the balance is struck.

I suffered a scald burn on my right forearm, and after a few days of dressing (parafin/vaseline coated) I have rashes appeared on the area where the gauze patch was placed. It's getting uglier, and I went to see the doctor. HydroVal 2% was prescribed for the rashes and Antibiotic cream for the burn area. I took benadyrl at the same time.
It calms for a day and the rashes is on and off feeling itchy and so does the redden and swelling. I guess it's when the antihistamine worn off.
I read about ACV rememdy on rashes, so after shower, I bathe my arm in diluted ACV water to wash off any soap/creme/topical medicine residue I might have on my skin.
Then I dapped undiluted ACV on my rashes. It calms down the itchiness in about 15 mins after application. I dont' know yet if it will go away completely, but it feels better to use it then to apply the HydroVal again.
Hopefully it will help. I just found most doctors have trouble diagnose skin rashes. They like to prescribe Cortizone cream, but from my past experience with allergic rashes, that only works for the first 2 days, and if the rashes presist, the condition will almost reversed if not getting worse.
People like me is desparate, I am so sensitive, and I have no clue what cause my allergies at most time. Besides, I am sure my immune system is extremely over sensitive.

My daughter had a rash all over her skin a week ago for the first time and since we knew that she has sensitive skin and has had rashes in her neck area before, we simply put it down to something she ate and basically said it would go away. That was until it started itching last Saturday and then stopped. During the week it didn't itch much so we paid it mild attention and simply moisturized her skin. Today, a week later she cried and cried and complained for the itchy skin, just when her doctor's office was closed. We moisturized with thick cetaphil lotion believing that the more we put on, the more moisturized her skin would become and the itching would stop. She cried until 12:00 a.m. until I decided to check this site and used apple cider vingar simply put on her skin. She continued to cry for another five or so minutes, then I diluted it in some warm water and based it on her skin again. IMMEDIATELY and almost simultaneously she stopped crying and went asleep. I now believe in apple cider vinegar. Not only will I be sure to get her and her siblings an allergy test, but I will the first to use it if met with a similar problem again. Thank you for posting this site!

I developed a skin rash whilst on holiday in Tenerife and was relieved to get home believing that something I was eating had caused it. However the rash just got worse and had spread all over my sides and back. After visiting my GP I was given 2 kinds of anti-histimine tablets and a base cream which didn't make any improvement so after 2 weeks went back and seen another GP. She gave me more creams and rinitadin to take in conjuction with the anti-histimin, again no change. I was desparate by this time and decided to "surf the net" and found this site.
I took the advice given for ACV and dabbed it neat on the rash, left it for 15 mins. Then put 1 cupfull in my bathwater nightly, also I drank a solution of 2 tablespoons in water twice a day. I cant beleive that after 4 days only the rash has gone completely. I am going back to Tenerife in 4 weeks time and will definately be armed with my ACV just in case. Thank you to everyone who posted their wonderful advice.

Wow. This is great stuff. I had an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide. I had used this as a treatment on my face (my entire face) for a couple of days, then broke out into a dry, itchy, red, swollen, hot, bumpy rash. My 1st thought was benadryl & aloe & moisturizer, but they didn't help much.
I came across this post & finally decided to give it a shot (rather than go to a Dr.& have him give me a cortisone shot or some type of meds with possible side effects. I had ACV at home already, so I decided to use that too after I bought the CO & Cayenne. I washed my face with a bar of 'H20plus' soap then blotted on ACV (burned like.... ), then used a mixture of CO & Cayenne on my entire face (putting plain CO around & over my eyes). I woke up this morning & the rash is 75% gone! (1nite, 1application! ) It even cleared up the acne that I was trying to get rid of with the Benzoyl Peroxide. I am amazed. This really works... & fast too!

When our 4 month old's skin seemed dry, we applied routine baby lotion. The area prickly-bumped into a rash within 10 minutes after applying baby lotion. 2 weeks later, our pediatrician examined the now red and welting painful rash. She said that particular manufacturer is known to add fragrances and dyes to enhance smell and appearance. We stopped using all the manufacturer's products, rash stopped immediately. (Dr said one of the best baby lotions for diaper rash or skin irritation or bug bites or any is freshly expressed mother's milk dabbed on area. When we tried it on diaper area, rash was gone within the hour.)

After struggling with a rash on my rump for a month (in the crack) I was EXHAUSTING ALL MY OPTIONS. I had tried anti-fungal, yeast infection lotion, baby powder, diaper rash cream, neosporin, and lotion... nothing could get rid of the itch, the burning and the embarrassment! Thank goodness I found this site! After two treatments my itching is GONE and my rash is calming down. I am SO HAPPY! My first treatment was watered down 50% water, 50% ACV. Second treatment was pure ACV. In two treatments (6 hours) I've noticed a drastic improvement!
Joyce's Remedies

For all who are troubled with those dratted rashes - I can tell you that when faced with a patient with a rash of prolonged duration - how well I can remember what I thought when first viewing it "Oh how I wish I could have seen this before all the scratching and applying all the stuff that probably made it worse" because that does make trying to determine the cause more difficult.
For all of you who have a rash and wondering why: First ask yourself what have you been in contact with that may have caused it? This can be anything to bath soap, lotions, sun screens, cosmetics, plants such as poison ivy/oak/sumac. Where is it located? On areas that made contact with some specific substance or plant? Is it itching? Raised? flat? When in doubt as to what caused it, especially if it is generalized or all over - try the simplest thing first that doesn't add something else that might make it worse.
My simple solution to any unidentifiable rash is to put 2 or more cups of apple cider vinegar in a tub of warm bath water and using a l00% cotton wash cloth (no soaps, oils, lotions, etc.) take a relaxed leisurely bath. This removes all soaps or other things from the skin that might have caused it, it also helps to soothe itching, it restores the protective acid mantle that our skins are supposed to have. Something as simple as this can sometimes stop the problem & can be repeated several times per day if necessary.
If you are one of the unfortunate allergic people, you are probably very aware that rashes can be triggered by anything you are allergic to, including foods/drinks/medicines as well as direct contact to your skin. If you are in this category, you probably already have benadryl (diphenhydramine) or other antihistamine on hand for those occasions, and you are probably already well aware that if the rash is accompanied with difficulty breathing, severe nausea, rapid heart beats, etc. take the antihistamine first & head for the doctor second because severe anaphylactic reactions can be triggered by any of the above, including inhalant allergies (perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, hairsprays, paint odors, etc.). Always look for the obvious, instead of zebras, because that is more likely where the problem is.
I recall one little 2 or 3 year old girl brought in for a rash, off and on for several weeks, but mostly always on the same cheek. Fortunately daddy came along with mommy and his daughter. Observation otherwise wouldn't have helped much. First off, little girl was very comfortable and snuggled on daddy's shoulder. Aha, we have here a daddy's girl don't we? Mom and Dad both smiled & nodded yes. Next question was is this the arm she usually sits on and is she usually leaning on the same shoulder and snuggled against your same cheek? Again daddy smiled & nodded yes. My next action was to feel daddy's cheek and smell in the same direction. Of course I had already looked at the child's cheek initially which did not include a diagnosis written on it. Daddy's cheek felt as it looked, freshly clean shaven. It smelled of after shave or cologne. By now you have all probably seen the obvious here. I told Mom and Dad that the rash being on the same cheek and this being the usual position that put that cheek against daddy's cheek, that the rash would most likely be either a reaction to the product I smelled on his cheek or from the looks of it might be from daddy's stubble of beard when he snuggled with her when he wasn't freshly shaved or even a combination of both. We talked of leaving off the smelly stuff and using a buffer between daughter's cheek and daddy's to see if this solved the problem. If it didn't to bring her back in one week. Must have solved the problem since she didn't return.
An alternative doctor that I have a lot of respect for (Dr. Jonathan Wright) expressed an opinion that when you turn up with skin problems, look to the digestive tract, and I would think more along this line, especially in an older person with gastrointestinal complaints. His theory is that our stomachs become less efficient at producing hydrochloric acid to digest our foods and suggested a supplement to aid the digestion or increase the stomachs production of the needed acid. Logic tells me that since people who don't produce enough are often treated with B12 injections, a good B complex won't hurt anyone (there are some B12 products available now that are absorbed orally). When reduced production of hydrochloric acid is the problem, a couple drops of Lugol's solution or SSKI a day should aid the stomach to work properly also. Especially look for subtle vitamin and mineral deficiencies if you have cracks & lesions at the corners of your mouth. Some generalized rashes can accompany infections. The childhood diseases of rubeola, rubella, chicken pox, scarlet fever are the most common ones. Another one that comes to mind is the second stage generalized syphilis rash (one of the few that involves the palms) but the first stage syphilis chancre lesion usually sends one to the doctor for treatment before the second stage rash occurs.
Hope this helps some of you solve those rash problems. Remember to listen, to yourself and others, because the one with the rash is the one that can tell you anything they have changed recently before the rash started, anything they might have eaten, drank or were exposed to that might have triggered the offending rash.
Neem Oil

I have been plaqued by all kinds of symptoms and just recently discovered it is most likely candida. I had rashes, hives, prickles, body hot flashes, allergic feeling, sneezing, weird smell coming from body. When my rashes dry out I get dandruff like white dust (a sign of fungi) and this is when it starts to heal up - before that rash just about made me leap through the roof.
I started to use Neem oil. I put a few drops in water and because I don't have a bath put it on container and then dribble it over my body. I rub it in at last point in shower so it doesn't wash off then get out and let it dry. I don't put any creams on just dry.
I have been using it for about a week and so far the rash has almost gone - i don't itch nearly as much, no more hives, or prickles unless I get over hot.
I am also going to add in betonite clay/psyillum. Spices I crave but they may create too fast die off because I get really hot and itchy after I eat them.
I recommed Neem (some of the other oils I get reactions too but i'm fine with neem). Will you keep you posted - I can tell I have overgrowth in throat (not in mouth) and I guess probably just about everywhere. I am also going to try find some leaves to put in warm water and soak - or chew on.

My father had boils, i.e., cysts, appear on his arms for years. I found that Goldenseal Root is a GREAT herb with 'drawing' powers. I convinced him to try my paste, let it dry, then wash it off. Not only did the cyst go away fast, but has not returned! I have used Goldenseal Root to 'draw' infection out of cuts, sores, etc., and even cure athletes foot. You only need a small amount of the powder and a tiny amount of water. Stir into a paste quickly and spread it on the affected area. Let it dry. Rinse off. You have to be quick as it begins to work as soon as water hits it. Be careful, a tiny amount of water goes a long way! My mom had a rash on the back of her hand - all the prescription creams made it go away but as soon as she stopped using, the rash would reappear. Used the Goldenseal Root past method on the rash. It went away in 2 days and never returned.

Dave~ I've had a rash on my leg for about a month; about 4x7 inches. It literally appeared overnight was very itchy. I tried ACV and also tried Coconut oil with no luck. I finally went to the Doctor and he prescribed "nystatin - Triamcinolone Acetonide" ointment. That was two weeks ago and I just renewed the prescription. The itching is considerably better but the rash is still very red and ugly. I'm going on a cruise next week and I'd given up all hope of being able to wear shorts. Perhaps out of desperation, I tried your cayene pepper and coconut oil paste last night. I applied it to the rash and put a large gauze pad loosley over it. When I woke this morning, there is absolutely no itchng and the rash is about 50% GONE. I'll try another application today. THANK YOU

I lost my left leg below the knee a little over a year ago. My silicone liners and sleeves that pad my residual limb from my prosthesis and secure it to my leg have always irritated my skin somewhat, but it has been tolerable. About a week ago I began developing a rash on my residual limb. I tried several treatments, but nothing seemed to do much good with it. When it became impossible for me to wear my prosthesis I began researching treatments and came across this site with the testimonials on ACV. I gave it a shot and within a day (3 treatments yesterday and 1 this morning) the rash is almost completely gone. After the first treatment the pain and itching was gone, and after the 2nd much of the redness and irritation was gone. I realistically anticipate the rash being completely gone by tomorrow at this rate. I am a believer after one day. It hurt when I put it on the first time, but it was worth it because now I can put my prosthetic leg on and be active again instead of being confined to a wheelchair because of a stupid rash. Thank you for this site!!
Lichen Striatus Remedies

I don't see anything on here about Lichen Striatus. I took my son to the doctor today and this is what she said that he has. It looks like a rash of prickly little bumps that are formed in a straight line. I have seen things with the word of Lichen in it on the site but not Lichen Striatus. I thought that he got it from the barber when he got a hair cut. This is the first day that I remember seeing it. The source of the skin condition says that it's unknown. Does anyone know of any natural cures for this? Thanks

My 1 year old daughter had an odd rash, at first I thought it was a diaper rash, but it ended up looking more like a heat rash or something- big red (big bug-bite like) bumps spread out on her bottom, legs and trunk. Nothing was making it go away, so I decided to try Apple Cider Vinegar. I diluted it to 50% water and applied it with a cotton ball on all the infected areas. The dots had shrunk by 90% by the end of the day. Worked great!

My lady friend developed a severe case of some type of yeast or fungus overgrowth. It began as a red area under one breast, and soon spread to both breasts, upper chest, stomach and groin area. I suspect a recent injection of steroids (to relieve poison ivy) to be the cause, but that is only speculation. This rash was severe. She was Dr. prescribed a cream and then a powder-- with little effect. I recommended the Apple Cider Vinegar Cure, along with making sure the affected area stayed clean and dry. We applied (again, use only), organic, unfiltered, non-pasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar. She applied the ACV directly to the affected area. It is important to note that applying the ACV to a severe rash is Very Painful! I suggest that if you cannot tolerate the pain, you might start with a diluted (50%?) mixture until some of the "rawness" disappears. RESULTS: 100 Percent CURE! Absolutely amazing. She continued the application for about two weeks, with results beginning immediately. Her skin dried completely, the rash and finally the redness disappeared. Thank You Earthclinic, Thank You Ted!
Sulfur and Fish Oil

I had small, red patches and spots around my eyes that wouldn't go away after 3 or 4 months. I assumed I was reacting to something, developing new allergies perhaps. I've never had eczema. I didn't want to go to a dermatologist, as I assumed I'd be prescribed anti-biotics and/or steroid creams, etc. NO THANKS!
There's a very long story here, but to make it short, I went to a homeopathic doctor who recommended sulphur (small homeopathic tablets--cheap) and fish oil. Never found out what caused the inflammation, but the strange dry, red patches cleared up within 3 days and haven't returned since (over 2 months). Hope this helps someone who was as frustrated as I was! Peace, Isabella
