Hair Loss

The Indian herb, bhringaraj, has worked well. Just search the internet for testimonies. Mine was for a 69 year old woman with hair loss and within a month not only did the hair loss cede, new growth came in.

It's in the Water
Posted by Timh (Ky) on 04/21/2018 2048 posts

Chlorine is damaging at excessive levels so it is important to filter your tap water and install a shower-head filter to remove Chlorine as well as other toxic halogens like fluorine, bromine, and fluoride. All these minerals and heavy metals are absorbed by the thyroid gland if there isn't enough Iodine in the diet, so in addition to filtering water, one must also supplement with Iodine/Iodide.

Dietary Changes

I started a vegan diet back at the end of January and almost immediately noticed my hair fall in the drain drastically declined to almost nothing.

It's in the Water

During the first 3 months of the year I was in an area where well water was used and I did not really pay attention but did notice I grew to have little use for conditioner, not even really considering the water. As a male I will use a tiny amount as a leave-in to style my hair. Well when I got back and within two days of using chlorinated water, my hair felt like straw again when not using the conditioner. Chlorine will defintiely damage your hair........ after all it is bleach.

Brushing Technique
Posted by Erin (Ny) on 01/20/2018

I would say give yourself a head massage. I'd bend over while messaging and massage from back of your head to front.

And then stand up or sit up straight and massage front to back.

I'm just guessing but I think you'll have less and less hair loss as you continue to massage your head and give your scalp some focused attention.

Hope it works for you

Argan oil - the kind you eat (culinary type), not the kind you apply topically has stopped my hair from coming out and I feel it is thicker and fuller. You can take up to tablespoon a day for men and just under a tablespoon a day for women. good luck

MSM.....

  • lengthens growth cycle.
  • hair stops falling out, due to need for sulfur...very common
  • no side effects, no limit on the dose

mix powder w/water, take as much as you can afford..

1-10 grams a day

Swish in mouth while taking it.

Prevents plaque on teeth, heals gums.

MSM did all of the above for me.

Also can add to pets' water... It rejuvenated my 15 year old cat.

Mexican Missionary Remedy

One of my teenage boys had terrible ACNE. A Mexican missionary told us about this. We used zinc powder (patting it lightly on the face after washing it). This can really dry out the face too much, so we eventually began to get it under control and then keep it back by washing face and a little tea tree oil rubbed on his face before bed.

At age 24, he still has a tendency to bad acne BUT ONLY IF he doesn't keep up this regime. It isn't as bad as when he was 16 but still there. Especially on his back. We have the best healthy diet of anyone I know, so it is not junk food either. Maybe gluten, but haven't noticed a big difference when he gets off it. Anyway, just saying to you all... if you are taking the Acutane for acne..Why? There are natural ways to deal with this that don't involve such an aggressive dangerous drug.

Carrots

A few years ago, my hair used to fall out very heavily - often in large clumps. There would be fistfulls of hair in the shower drain. I was left with very thin and and bald patches, which then drove me to cut it all off! It's not something I ever want to go through again. It was only Edgar Cayce's remedy that had cured me - more specifically CARROTS! I would eat a raw carrot a day.

It did take a long time (almost a year and a half), but regrowth happened and my hair is so much healthier and stronger now. I do notice a difference if I miss consuming carrots for a few days in a row - the fall-out begins to happen again. I have never tried this with cooked carrots though. I do juice them and try a variety of different ways to consume them raw. I have no idea what unknown compounds there are in carrots, but thank God Edgar Cayce was able to recognize them because I now have hair!

Edgar Cayce did recommend other remedies for hair loss, but this is what worked for me. I am not saying his other remedies didn't work - I had not tried the others. A carrot a day was the most affordable treatment for me at that time.

Avoid Shampoo

I am post menopausal and was suffering from severe hair loss. I was told by one doctor to wash my hair daily with a well known over the counter hair restorer (at $40 or so a bottle). Not only could I not afford it, I refused to put all those chemicals on my head daily, especially since it could be deadly to my cats. Other doctors have told me there was nothing I could do and to enjoy my hair while I had it. I even tried a prescription shampoo, as well as many other shampoos on the market. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give up shampoo as so many other people are doing. I never used many products on my hair so it didn't have any kind of build up, and it is almost out of the greasy phase, and I have not lost one strand since I stopped shampooing. While my hair is a little on the oily side (which will stop soon) I wash it only with very warm water and let it dry naturally. My hair looks AMAZING. The shine and bounce it had when I was a teenager is back. I'm hoping that it will grow back in areas I have bald spots, but even if it doesn't I am so happy that I am not losing any more. I don't use vinegar or baking soda on it, just plain water. And if it smells a little funky, I just go outside, turn my head upside down and run my fingers through it and the smell is gone. I am so happy, I wanted to share with everyone!

Biotin

I have been taking 5000 mcg of biotin for about 2 years. Finally baby hairs are appearing where significant hair loss has been. They are about 2" long and stick straight up and get frizzy when there is humidity.

I have alopecia and even though I haven't found a way to stop it I have found something to help with the tender scalp. I found msm in lotion form and put it in with my shampoo and wash my hair it doesn't change the texture at all but helps with the tenderness. Try it, t I think you will love the relief you get from just one use. You can also just put the lotion on your scalp by itself and feel the relief but it does leave your hair greasy of done like that I suggest putting it in your shampoo.

Low Thyroid Hair Loss Remedies
Posted by Christina (Australia) on 05/30/2016

What specific treatments work? I had a hair analysis done and it showed low thyroid- everything I've tried with Naturopath (herbal ) and even alkalising minerals / homeopathy - ALL just make me more estrogen dominant.

Seems to me - leaky gut must be addressed first.

Increase Hot Water Heater Temp, Borax

I've read about the connection between fungal infections and hair loss. I tried Ted's recommendation of washing my hair with borax. It was great. I had so many little sprouts on my scalp. But the sprouts would never really take off. They would have such gusto, then stop. I wash my hair about once ever 5 days. I did some research. And found out that if your hot water heater is not set to super scalding hot, a certain bacteria will start to grow in your hot water heater. If your water is only about 100-120 Fah bacteria will grow in your tank. Therefore when you wash you hair with that water, it's BAD for your hair. Adding borax to this water probably helps it, but still not good enough.

Set your hot water heater to hottest, and you will eliminate the fungal/baceteria from the source of your water. Then wash with borax and hopefully wait for great results. Thanks Ted for all your knowledge that I was able to glean from. I hope this helps people to regain their beautiful hair. :)

Anesthesia-Related Hair Loss

Hair loss most likely from surgery, not the ACV! Anesthesia is murder on hair! Your hair dresser will caution you not to color or perm within 6 to 8 weeks of any surgery because of its effect on your hair. Keep the ACV.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

Change your diet to no meat, gluten free, check thyroid, for iodine deficiency, and stop dying your hair, if you must and only if you must, whole foods has Natural solution for hair dye, and natural HENNA!

Baking soda and ACV is working for me but I'm so not eating foods that may have pesticides and additives!!

I'm eating less because I'm detoxing from pesticides and additiv Es that may be causing the problem, in my opinion hair loss is the body's way of saying its stressed out and the hair follicle can't breath!! Stress comes in many forms, brisk walking, nutrition and letting go of resentments and unhappiness helps!!

Hope this helps!!

Coconut Oil

Any brand of coconut oil would work. As long as "coconut oil "is written on the label, you can still confidently apply it on your hair. Anyway, making your hair longer/prevent hair loss is one sole issue while making it look shinier is another issue.

I am just a 18 years old girl. My hair used to be thick last time and I've never bothered it, even when others told me that I have thick hair. Worries monopoly myself when I started to realise when my hair is getting thinner and thinner than year after year.

Every morning, when I woke up, about more than 15 strands of hair would end up between my finger and thus, finally fall off.

Then, I started applying coconut oil on my hair on my scalp(to reduce the number of hair fall and promote faster hair growth/regrowth) and also apply them between my hair from the scalp to the tip of my hair to make it look shinier and repairs all those split ends. AND YAY! I did realise some changes in a week time. And I'm so amazed with much power coconut oil can do.

B Vitamins

Coenzymated B vitamins (the kind you dissolve under your tongue) works amazingly well for hair loss. I noticed my hair feeling thicker, smoother and fuller within the first 10 week! I think the other kinds of B vitamins are not absorbed very well.
