I am attempting the use of Tumeric for my MRSA boils and am finding it very hard to swallow, pun intended. I have a very sensitive stomach and this stuff is just plain gross. Are there any suggestions as to making it a bit easier to take?

Hi Irisheyes, I make a turmeric tea using 1 teaspoon turmeric, a teaspoon of honey, 1/8th teaspoon of cayenne pepper and either some half and half or coconut milk. I then add hot water and stir. I love drinking this tea. Not only is it healthy but also delicious.

You can buy empty capsules and take turmeric that way. That's the only way I can take it.

Heck - just eat a lot of curries. I think that's the best way to take turmeric. I eat turmeric probably 2x a day at least, averaging around 1 tsp a day. Besan chillas make a great breakfast for example, and it can easily be added to those. Aside from taking it in warm milk when I have a cold, I cannot imagine swallowing it plain.

Get some ginger and simmer it for 20 minutes or more and then add turmeric and some lemon. You can also add some honey. Add pepper to make the turmeric more effective. Hope this helps.

WORKED TEMPORARILY

Tumeric is very good. The first time I used it (orally)the results were immediate and successful. Also oregano oil is very effective (used topically). Unfortunately after using these for over a year they are no longer very helpful.

I recently used Turmeric mixed with Aloe Vera Gel to cure myself of MRSA. I noticed all of the Gel and about half of the 1/8th teaspoon of Turmeric I applied topically was absorbed into my flesh. I read that Turmeric dissolves more readily in warm fats than any other substance. I would like to try mixing Pressed Virgin Coconut oil with Turmeric for a nice topical skin treat, as opposed to ingesting these wonderful remedies. (Yes, I know Turmeric stains brown, but that's what color I am any way).

My Question is: What is the difference in absorption via ingestion verses topical absorption via skin? I. E. : If I ingest 1/2 teaspoon of Coconut Oil mixed with 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric, am I absorbing the same amount of nutrients & benefits as I do when rubbing 1/2 teaspoonful of coconut oil mixed with 1/8 teaspoon Turmeric into my skin? If not, what is a reasonable ballpark ratio of benefits for ingestion versus topical absorption? Please can anyone help me to understand this? I am so jazzed about finding Earth Clinic. Many Thanks to all who make this website happen!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Turmeric for MRSA: Well, I tried 1 tsp in milk 3x daily with meals and then switched to a standardized capsule with meals but within a day my gut was killing me (belching, bloating, flatulence). It may have made the boil on my arm better but I'm still sick and won't be taking the turmeric internally anymore unless I'm really sick. Hope my immune system takes over now.

This gas may have been your body detoxing and breaking down mucousy deposits and or killing candida in you intestines. Turmeric taken internally is a GREAT immunity booster, it would be a shame if others gave up on it because of your experience!

It may have been the milk causing your discomfort. If you're lactose intolerant and you are drinking all of that milk then you will experience those problems.

Turmeric anti-MRSA boil remedy!

About 18 months ago, I was hit with a nasty MRSA infection which saw me with a huge boil and widespread cellulitis on my leg. This was cured with Sufa anitbiotics from the doctors....but over the course of the next 9 months or so, I had 5 more reinfections, with more antibiotics....I was hating life and paranoid of every little skin blemish.

Then I found the Turmeric "cure" on Earth Clinic....and have not looked back - fantastic! I had a few other breakouts of what could have developed into a full on MRSA boil...but by taking turmeric either in water or using low cost capsules purchased online, none of them got to the stage they were getting to previously. I now take a daily dose in the morning, and the boils appear to have gone away and stayed away - for over six months.

Thanks so much for letting me know about this!

Thank you Earth Clinic and everyone for this post. I am struggling with mrsa for about a year and a half now. It started on my scalp near my nape, was gone after a week and it keeps coming back. Sometimes I have 3 of them all connected. I also have them on my pubic part, thighs, on my breast and on my waist. It affects me emotionaly and I get paranoid of any bump on my skin all the time. I am sick and tired of cleaning, trying everything, spending money on antibiotics, etc. its getting worse. But after reading this, I am positive that I will heal! I'm on my way to the grocery store and will continue reading the rest of the posts later after making a turmerc paste! Im so excited! Will update you soon!

Your struggle with mrsa can soon be over. A mineral solution with incredible germ killing ability can wipe out mrsa and many other drug resistant organisms that are no longer sensitive to antibiotics. Germs can alter their protein coatings somewhat giving them drug resistance. In addition, germs create a substance called biofilm which allows them a safe haven and increases their resistance to antibiotics 1000 fold.

The two things I religiously preach about are serrapeptase, a systemic enzyme, and gallium nitrate, a mineral solution with incredibly powerful germ killing properties unlike any other substance.

These two substances can affect a cure in a mind boggling number of different diseases.

Germs cannot get around galliums method of action. They can not build a resistance to it. Yet gallium is harmless to beneficial microorganisms such as lactobacilli intestinal flora. Those germs like mrsa which go into biofilm can wait out an attack of antibiotics and then come back later thats why they are so hard to get rid of.

To eliminate nasty germs and heal from disease you must first eliminate their biofilm fortress.

Throwing antibiotics at an infection is a waste of time and causes more harm than good. A low ineffective dose of antibiotic only serves to teach germs how to become drug resistant. As long as the biofilm remains the germ will remain encased within it.

So how do you eliminate biofilm? Do you use a stronger antibiotic? Nope, you dont use antibiotics to wipe out biofilm, you use enzymes! Serrapeptase a systemic enzyme which eats biofilm for breakfast. It strips germs naked leaving them no where to hide from the immune system.

Serrapeptase does something magnificent to stop viral replication too. Virus depend on surface proteins to develop adhesion molecules by which they can attach themselves to a cell they wish to infect.

Serrapeptase strips the virus of its proteins making it unable to infect cells. Now thats a powerful enzyme!

Enzymes are so powerful at stopping germs and virus that the us navy developed an enzyme blend to protect soldiers from biological weapons attack where unknown organisms might be encountered. Enzymes can even help you survive ebola.

As for gallium nitrate, a wide variety of disease causing germs all have one thing in common, they love iron. They depend on iron for their growth and survival. Take a leukemia virus for example, they have 1000 times the requirement for iron as a normal cell.

When you give a nasty microorganisms such as mycoplasma, cancer cells or virus gallium it takes it in thinking it is iron and then it is destroyed.

Here is a list of germs which are attacked by gallium nitrate. http://gallium-nitrate.com/bacteria.html.

Gallium Nitrate can harm kidneys, and you shouldn't take advil, tylenol, aspirin, injected antibiotics, etc when taking it. Also, do not take if you have kidney or heart disease, or if you take a water pill. Gallium nitrate is given via injection, did you inject yourself?

I have had a staph infection for the last month - my first ever. It was misdiagnosed until just a few weeks ago when I was finally given topical antibiotics. It seemed to have worked - the rash became a solid pimple like boil which then washed off in the shower. It left a mess though, the redness increased and there were many many bumps everywhere (this entire situation is occuring just next to my right eye) and seemed to be spreading. I put manuka honey on it, which relieved the heat issue, but I knew I had to get it off my face, in case it spread to my eye and caused serious issues. So back to the doctor I went. She gave me internal antibiotics and told me to quit eating Vitamin C, garlic, and the manuka honey and instead take a 500mg antibiotic 4x a day for 10 days. I took 2 the first day and got such a horrendous headache I couldn't see straight and all the aches and pains associated with this staph infection flared up. I took 2 antibiotics the next day but I felt so terrible on them I quit them. My legs were killing me again and I couldn't walk very well.

So I threw out the antibiotics and went back to my mega doses of vitamin C, garlic, manuka honey, and now - after reading this wonderful website - turmeric. I have been taking the 500mg of turmeric suppliments 2x a day and cooking with it for the last 3 days. I also began putting the tumeric on the skin infection by my eye because it was burning so badly. Mixing it with grape seed oil (what I found in the kitchen) has created the cure I needed! 3 days - 3 must be the magic number - and it is vastly improved. The boil doesn't itch, burn or bother me too much. The first night I didn't figure out the oil part, so it was a little dry and painful (much like the tea tree oil I had on before) but once the oil was mixed with it, the boil soaked it up. The second day the boil was very wet, and the change was beginning to bother me, was it getting bigger? Would I have a terrible scare or hole there? I jumped into the shower and washed everything off - getting out and expecting the worst. Lo and behold, the boil actually was smaller! I stayed awake last night, alternating heated rags to wash off the turmeric, then to reapply, and in the morning there was only a small opening, where before it had reached from under my eye to my eyebrow. Amazing! Tonight I will continue to clean it off and reapply whenever it starts to burn or itch again - hopefully by tomorrow it will be sealed with only the rash remaining.

Thank you so much for all of the information on here! It's amazing...$2.65 for a huge bag of turmeric spice...$8.00 for the suppliments - it should be a crime doctors do not tell people about natural remedies. Sometimes I think we have everything upside down and backwards when it comes to knowing all there is to know about medicine.

I just wanted to report back in. It has been 6 days since starting a personal turmeric treatment for my staph infection. Unfortunately I have a boil right near my right eye, a dangerous place to say the least. When I first started putting turmeric on the boil (which had spread from my eyebrow down my cheek and under my eye and from the corner of my eye to my ear even with antibiotic cream and tea tree oil) it is now day six, and all that is left are two small marks!!! They are not even the size of spider bites. Sure my folks are a little perplexed over my new orange stained complexion, but who cares?! This horror is almost gone!! Now though I've been focusing mostly on this particular area I have been working internally as well. Can't stop now! Almost there!!

I have posted previously to this site about a staph infection I acquired back in November 2009 and how I was having such success with the allicin from garlic. I have recently contracted a virus and was in need of alternative medicines. A friend with the same problem recommended a zapper machine to kill the symptoms and the virus itself and so I purchased it, solely interested in retarding the progression of the virus. Along with success with that, came unexpected success with the zapper and the persistant staph infection. Though now no more than a shadow that I can feel, the staph has been there waiting. With the zapper and the allicin from garlic, however, it seems to be killing it even more rapidly. I purchased a zapper out of Canada and I love it. It's reducing achne, the virus, the staph, etc. It is actually amplifying the benefits of the allicin. I think perhaps this combination may be able to raise the dead, ha! Talk about a miracle cure for my apparent bad luck.

A zapper is a battery powered device (9v) that used dc microcurrent electricity to kill pathogens in the bloodstream and in the body. They are available on ebay from about $30 on up. I have had several different models and they do help by killing pathogens and giving the body which is bioelectric a mild boost of energy. Worth investigating.

Turmeric for MRSA! Halleluia! I have been getting folliculitis and cellulitis on and off for over two years. They tell me I have colonized MRSA and other than antibiotics they don't offer much in the way of help or hope.

My daughter was graduating from college on Saturday (I am 52) and on the Thursday before, I had two boils and the beginnings of a third. Sobbing, I was on the internet, once again, and I stumbled on this website. I use turmeric often in cooking and I know that it has anti-inflammatory properties.

I took a tsp with some coconut oil and water at 8pm, applied a poultice of baking soda and turmeric and went to bed. When I woke, the pain had gone from a constant 7 to maybe a 3 but the real surprise was how they had shrunk in size just overnight. Stunned, is all I can say. I followed up with three doses of a tsp with milk or oil and applied poultices again the second night. WOW. Wow. Wow. I pray this continues to work, I am amazed and eternally grateful. THANKS SO MUCH!

I'll add another "yea" to the growing pile of positive feedbacks for turmeric treating staph.

Ailment: I have been suffering with chronic folliculitis (s.aureus was cultured) in my beard area. Usually 5-10 active boils are present at any one time, varying in size from a single hair follicule to deep, 2cm diameter nodules.

Prior Treatments: I have tried just about everything under the sun for this: antibiotics for three months; prescription antibiotic cream; medicated shampoos; chlorhexidine washing; tea tree oil; witch hazel; apple cider vinegar rinses; not shaving (I grew a beard three years ago when this started). All were ineffective. I seem to get reinfected over and over again, even though I take care to use clean towels, pillowcases, etc.

Turmeric: Now this is more like it. The turmeric really works. The effect was not immediate, like so many report, although it was quick. I started taking full-spectrum highly concentrated turmeric capsules (400mg, 3X per day) and it took about three days to notice the healing. At first the inflammation calmed down, and those nasty boils began to retreat. I've been on it for four days without any new outbreaks and the last of pre-turmeric boils fading away. No other treatment (doctor- or self-prescribed) has been nearly as effective.

Kudos to Earth Clinic and all those Earth Clinicians out there for pointing me in the right direction!

MRSA and Tumeric

When i was first diagnosed with MRSA, i was beyond dismayed. As my symptoms became more intense and frequent i was horrified and disgusted with my own body and felt that i could confide in no one, not even my doctor. i was initially misdiagnosed, completed rounds of antibiotics that did had no affect (which did not seem to be a read flag to my doctor), and i went through a bureaucratic nightmare for nearly half a year before demanding to be referred to an infectious disease specialist who told me that all of the MRSA remedies i read on earth clinic were B.S.

i had just finished a round of septra for a particularly difficult boil when i started taking turmeric, about 2 tsps in water 3 times daily. the effect turmeric has had on my skin is unbelievable. i never could have foreseen such a dramatic recovery. although there is no cure for MRSA, i have been able to live boil free for nearly a three months by maintaining this regiment.

i have also committed to a vegetarian diet with dramatically less sugar and flour which cause an acidic imbalance that fuels MRSA.

on a personal note, earthclinic gave me a sense of community when i was most despondent. it gave me hope, encouragement and a remedy that has provided me with a new lease on life. i only wish i had discovered this site earlier, but feel so blessed to have come across it.

for everyone dealing with MRSA, i just want to say that you are not alone, you are loved and you can and will get through this. i care and many others do as well.

MRSA boils and Turmeric cure

When I recently got married I continued drinking my homemade kefir every day BUT I forgot to use turmeric in the kefir. After two months, I got a bad outbreak of MRSA on the back of one leg and on the top of one hand. (I first contracted MRSA about 3 years ago). I began using turmeric again (I had plenty on hand) and in one day I could see the redness starting to disappear. Now the areas are mostly healed. Kefir does a fine job holding down my MRSA symptoms, but I need turmeric added in small amounts to each cup of kefir I drink. I always sip kefir all day. Today in fact, I ordered more fresh kefir grains from eBay because after 3 years of using the original grains purchased back then, they were finally weakening. I hope my information helps other people who either have MRSA boils or other types. A main way to combat MRSA is NOT to eat anything containing HEME iron (meat, fish, poultry). I believe that I got these outbreaks recently because I was omitting turmeric. Now I have my MRSA symptoms back under control. If you want to know more about how I control my MRSA, just email me: johnmillerz2003 (at) yahoo.com Carolyn

turmeric and boils

I became very run down due to great stress in my life and one morning woke up to a huge knot on my face. I never had a boil before so I did some research to figure out what it was and how to cure it. I came across this site and found the turmeric cure. I was aggressive with the treatment using warm compresses soaked in turmeric and salt all day and also applying a paste made of turmeric powder and salt directly to the boil. I also used a 1/4 cup of 1/2 & 1/2 warmed up with a teaspoon of turmeric and a touch of hot chocolate for flavor several times a day. After one day, the thing began to drain a foul smelling puss, totally gross. I did a little more research and found it was probably MRSA. I know how bad MRSA can get and I was worried that my face might become disfigured from it. Day two the boil kept draining and I kept up the hot packs and paste religiously. It's now day 8 and the boils is almost completely gone. It's truly amazing. If you have a boil, always be very careful about not spreading it by washing your hands vigorously every time you go near the boil. Use sterile technique when dressing it,always cover a MRSA wound so you don't spread it(It's highly contagious) and use gloves if you can. Wash any clothes or sheets every day that come in contact with it. I used disposable pads on my pillow at night. I actually feel better than I have for a very long time with energy and ambition. I am so thankful to have found this site. and I'm totally sold on turmeric!

I got a horrible boil on my buttock about two months ago and it was the most painful thing ever! so I thought it would go away and it did not instead it got larger and larger till it was as big as a golf ball and then larger than that the next day. So I waited but finally went to the ER and they told me it was staph and gave me vankamycin because my fever was 103.5 and I was septic by this time and they sent me home! so I got worse overnight and went to the ER then next day at another hospital and so they did surgery on it and drained it and cut deep into it. Gave me more antibiotics and sent me home and it finally started to heal but I have a horrendous scar like a bullet wound. So I thought I was done with that but exactly three weeks later when I began my period, surprise another one on my leg, in the muscle! So I went straight and had it lanced, another lovely scar! it would not heal for weeks until I found this site and ordered myself some Turmeric capsules and powder, then I started taking the capsules and put turmeric powder just one teaspoon boiled down in water on the wound and bandaging it each night. In the meantime I washed down everything in the house in scalding water, all my clothes, wiped down mattresses with antibacterial, then put the bactriban antibiotic stuff in my nose everyday for 8 days and also I was on antibiotics and then just to be safe I went to an Infectious Disease doctor who probed the wound and made it bleed and caused me great agony!

but he gave me so much information about this staph condition that I am so thankful to have seen him, however the cure for me has been THIS WEBSITE! Turmeric not only is helping with my staph it is making me feel better overall, not sure why but I can only speak for myself, so then I found another website that said turmeric is a mood enhancer and works for some people who are depressed so that must be it. I feel great!

now I have gotten two other boils after the leg boil healed with turmeric and as soon as they come up I put turmeric on them and they burst and heal. SO it worked 100% for me with some added benefits being my mood is much much better and I feel good.

Thanks
Many Blessings to you all!

Back story first. Some years ago 3 of my boys, with some friends, went swimming in a creek. -They went to the creek because most of our local beaches had been closed due to high bacteria levels.- Three of those boys, one of my own, were later diagnosed with MRSA. We had seven people in our home at the time and all but two have since suffered bouts of boils. Those of us who have higher bodyfat percentages suffer much more frequently and severely.

About a year and a half ago I discovered earthclinic. I immediately started taking remedies for -among other things- allergies, asthma, fibromyalgia, and boils. (I have never been diagnosed with MRSA, I choose NOT to have that put in my medical records. Besides, no medication ever given to my son or any of his friends ever really helped.) I no longer suffer from ANY of those conditions accept the boils.

When I first started taking the turmeric I had no less than 30 outbreaks in less than 3 weeks. I assumed this was a 'cleansing period'. They were uncomfortable, inconvenient of course but definitely NOT like they used to be. Since then I have had 4. Two were very minor, gone right away. The third was a bit more painful, this one now is killing me! It may very well be the worst I have ever had!

HERE IS MY POINT! I did the math and realized why I have gotten these last two -I think. The last one I got after my son had been in the hospital, I missed maybe 2 or 3 days of taking my morning "tea". This time I have gotten VERY caught up in life, very busy and I think I have only had my tea 3 or 4 times in the last week and a half! It is my understanding that there is no 'cure' for MRSA. There is only control.

My 'tea' consists of 1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbs blackstrap molasses
1 Tbs coconut oil
1 c warm water

For those of us who are predisposed to boils, are sensitive to staph or have been exposed to MRSA constant control is key to our continued health.

By the way, I also rinse with ACV after every shower and spray myself head to toe with peroxide about every other day to control topically.

UPDATE: Yesterday I was able to take 1 tsp turmeric mixed with 1 tsp coconut oil in hot water twice. I also put a bandage on with turmeric, coconut oil, and raw honey mixed into a paste. This morning it felt 90 percent better!! The surrounding pain was gone. The lymph node in my groin no longer hurt and the boil had burst and drained. This afternoon a hard core came out and it is now healing.

THIS REMEDY DEFINITELY WORKS!!!

The point of my previous post was the importance of maintenance and prevention.

Out of the list you are taking, Turmeric is the one that thins blood alot. Careful to anyone who has heart failure. Could make it worse. Even though it is a great product and works for so many things. Some cannot tolerate it. Also it is helpful for liver problems but can make certain types of liver problems worse. The rest of the list is safe for thin blood. Good Luck to you.
