Bacterial Vaginosis vs Yeast Infections. I came across this website while searching for holistic cures for bacterial vaginosis. I think its really important to identify which infection you might have as what works for curing yeast might actually make the bacterial vaginosis worse. A trained physician who is up-to date with the literature should help diagnose you. I have thought that I had yeast recurring for years while the whole time I have had Bacterial Vaginosis, a COMMON condition. Be sure to get diagnosed correctly, ladies! I am going to try taking oral folic acid and the vaginal yogurt insertion to see if either helps BV.

First, this is a wonderful and very informative website! After getting my very first yeast infection ever, I was searching for home remedies before resorting to over the counter meds. After extensive research, I decided to buy ACV and give it a try. After just a couple of days of taking 2 teaspoons in the mornings, I noticed my energy level soar. In one week, maybe less, my yeast infection was gone. I combined the ACV with taking Acidophilus. I feel healthier and "cleaner" since drinking ACV daily. I will continue this since it has so many health benefits. Thanks so much for this awesome website!

I have vaginal itching for over a month now, but I wasn't sure if it was a yeast infection or not. I tried the apple cider cure, but it didn't help at all. Inserting it vaginally made it even worse! Finally, I looked up vaginitis/vaginal itching online and found the yogurt suggestion (vaginally). I inserted 2 tsp. (10 ml) of it into my vagina last night (my husband found it hilarious, by the way), but it's the first night that I haven't felt like clawing at my insides! The website I found suggested using 2 tsp. inserted with a syringe vaginally for 7 days straight at bedtime, and then doing it once more on the 14th day. In the study done on Turkish pregnant women, most of them didn't having symptoms by the 3rd day.

I really was waiting to hear about garlic. it's really indefatigable yeast enemy. I'm really improving with it. i did discover I had loads of yeast infections this month, I have about 50 bad symptoms now. its death experience for me. so I'm starting a war of education toward these infections. I'm amazed as i read now how approach to one matter could be different. I'm covering piece of my mouth now on how hard and easy this battle seems to be, I will write more soon about my symptoms that it also had great deal with skin fungus that fed from inside and outside (running on burning sand on summer). and the eastern remedies (by the way I'm from alexandria egypt) I relieved with, I appreciate the writers and the website for the great systems of research.
Boric Acid

This site saved me a lot of frustration, money, and time. The boric acid in gel caps works wonders for both bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. I got Boric Acid at a local pharmacy and the gel caps at Ditto's Wholesale online. I may never use another yeast cream or prescription vaginosis remedy again. I am very grateful to you for your suggestions. I also drank the vinegar solution for a time and found that very helpful for the yeast. THANK YOU!!!!

When I have problems 'down there' as I call it, I always break out the 100% juice cranberry juice. If you're really brave you can try 100% cranberry juice straight, my sister said it cleared it right up, but tasted awful.

How much cranberry juice per day do you usually drink per day to get rid of the yeast infection and which brand(s) of cranberry juice would you use usually? Thank you very much.
Monistat Reactions

I used Monostat 7 and it made my symptoms worse. The burn and itch increased and I was about to go out of my mind. The next morning things were swollen and they weren't previous to the treatment of Monistat 7. I just got through drinking the apple cider vinegar and water. Now I am waiting to see if it works. If nothing else I am glad to know that there is alternatives to the messy and nasty creams.

I too have been suffering from yeast infections for almost a year now. The one time pill does not even touch it. After a morning of burning and itching I thought I would give the garlic clove treatment a try. Within about 15 minutes the burning sensation stopped. I will continue using it for a few days. I know what you all are going thru. It effects your whole self-being. No one can relate until they have gone thru it. I will be stopping at the pharmacy today for my 1000 mg garlic tabs. Thanks for the self-help tips. The doctor couldn't even help me.

I saw this website and i think it's great!! I was looking through the area on yeast infections and saw many that i have tried. Yogurt does work for a while. What i use is 1/4 cup of salt (iodized) and 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar (add more if needed) in warm bath water, just enough to cover the pelvic area. Then just sit in that for about 20-30 mins. It's the fastest thing i have ever used. As soon as you sit down you will be saying "ahhhhhhhhhhhhh relief"!!!! Of course do not use soaps while you are sitting there. After the 20-30 mins stand up and take a shower. You will be amazed how fast it works!! You can also dab a little ACV on the area prone to infection daily to prevent yeast infections.

When you use yogurt to cure a yeast infection try dipping a tampon in it then insert tampon overnight. This way you don't need to worry about it leaking, and it still works.

A clove of garlic, peeled and inserted into the vagina, cures yeast infections. Every night, for a few days, insert a garlic clove into your vagina to cure yeast infections.

I'm a long time sufferer of yeast. Tired of running to the doctor's office for that one little pill to ease my discomfort, I started searching for natural/home cures online and found this site. I ran out to the store, bought some ACV and drank some mid afternoon 2 days ago. To my surprise, my symptoms started to disappear by that evening. Today all the nagging and discomfort is gone thanks to $1 bottle of ACV! It's too easy... AWESOME!

I've only had 2 yeast infections in my life, and do you know what worked? Yogurt! However, MAKE SURE it is plain (no sugar!) yogurt with live active cultures. The bad news is that is very messy to apply as you must insert it in to the vagina. What I did was buy a disposable douche bottle, empty it, cut off the tip so the hole is as large as possible yet still allows the nozzle to be twisted back on, and using a teaspoon, carefully place the plain yogurt in the bottle. This takes time and effort, but trust me, it provides nearly instant relief. Apply the yogurt in the same way you would use a douche although do it while laying down in the tub or on your bed with a towel under you as it can be messy. Let the yogurt rest inside you for about 15-20 minutes, then sit up. When you sit, the yogurt will of course come back out of you as you, with the exception of a thin film or layer that will remain for the next few hours. Shower (no soap) that area to rinse off any mess, then put on a clean pair of cotton panties, along with a Kotex in. Sleep in the kotex and panties..as during the night the thin layer of yogurt will slowly seep out. It isn't much.. maybe a teaspoon, max. Once application should clear things up as the yogurt can bring your vaginal PH back to order. This may also be helpful to women who use vinegar and water to douche, and do it so excessively that their vaginal PH is also screwed up.. as vinegar is very acidic. If you feel sore or raw, yogurt will do the trick. Caution, do not do the yogurt unless you really need it or you will disturb your vaginas natural healthy PH. One application should be enough for a yeast infection, but if you have no improvement after 2 days, reapply. Rest assured, the yogurt does NOT stay in you. It slowly comes out the same way a man's sperm does when he ejaculates inside you. Another note is; if you douche regularly, DONT. Douching is very bad, unnecessary, and will actually bring you more problems. The vagina is a self-cleaning organ, and if you bathe with soap and water every day, there is NO need to douche.
