I must post a resounding YEAH for this cure. I burned myself badly on my iron, and only days later read about the egg white cure. I wish I had know about it then. I just put aloe on the burn and still have a scar. I have burned myself (minor) on a hot oven and hot pan handle since then and have put egg whites on the burn each time, and each time within 30 minutes, the burn disappeared.

Egg Whites for SUNBURNS! Today my 11 year old daughter was attending a bday party at a waterpark and decided sunscreen wasn't that important. She is VERY VERY fair skinned (like her mom) and came home with a severe sunburn (already starting to blister). I had her bathe in cool water but I know from a few months ago this is a short term solution. A friend mentioned egg whites, I was thinking it might be a little crazy but decided to try. I used a basting brush to apply several layers and put a damp towel covering her back....out of ALL THE YEARS I have used Aloe Vera, you could STILL feel the heat rising off of the skin. Her skin is COOL TO THE TOUCH!!!! And her pain is VERY MUCH relieved compared to other times when other remedies didn't last!! The only reason I'm here is because earlier I figured I should at least look up this egg white idea to make sure it wasn't something that would cause further issues. So, for all of you who need a remedy for a SUNBURN, THIS IS THE BEST ONE SO FAR FOR US! :) THANK YOU!!!

Last weekend, I opened a cooking pot in the oven and the steam burned my wrist. I immediately put a pack of frozen corn wrapped in a dish towel on it. It made it feel better, but as soon as I took the cool pack away, the pain as so intense I wanted to cry. I pulled up Earth Clinic, and read that egg whites helped pull the heat out. I first put an egg white soaked rag on my wrist for 5 minutes, and it helped a ton. But shortly after removing, the pain returned just as intensely. I did it a second time for about 10 minutes, and the same thing happened. Finally, I read more of the testimonials and realized I needed to leave it on for a long time so I put it on for 30 minutes while watching TV. I went to bed shortly after, woke up and my skin was discolored but not blistered. I followed it up with some aloe the next day once I bought it, and I'm on the road to recovery. I am also trying pure lavender oil as that is supposed to help heal minor burns. Seems to be helping, too.

Egg Whites relieved the pain I received from a burn on the palm of my hand (my thumb and index finger) It was so painful, the first thing I did was run to EarthClinic so find out what to do....First, I wrapped aluminum foil around my hand and that relieved the pain in about 10-12 min...next I soaked my hand in egg whites (I had a container of just egg whites I keep on hand for baking) for about 15 min...got some gauze and soaked it in egg whites, wrapped it around the affected fingers and left that on most of the day (4 hrs)..the last thing I did was soak in 1/2 cup ACV and 1/4 cup water for about 15 min. Just before I went to bed, I soaked it again in ACV & water.....woke up the next morning, NO BLISTERS! JUST A FEW TENDER SPOTS....Like a miracle....Thanks for this wonderful sight.

Egg whites for burns works like a miracle ointment. I've tried it myself, over my son and over a friend who is a Chef. But do not forget the first thing you have to do cool it down under cold running water for 5 minutes or so. Otherwise the skin will keep burning even after being removed from the heat source. You have to cool it down before applying the egg whites.

Egg Whites for Burns:
I burned myself badly all across the back of my hand and immediately turned to Earthclinic.com to see what might help the pain. I used the eggs whites! I cracked one egg, put it in a bowl, used a paper towel and soaked up some egg white with it. I then put that paper towel on the back of my hand and let it sit. I did this.. maybe 5 times. It really helps a lot! It didn't blister and the burning pain went away after a little. The burn ended up drying a lot and peeled away leaving somewhat pinky skin. Nothing horrendous. I consider myself lucky.. Thanks to everyone who share all these awesome rememdies!

Here's another "yea" for egg whites on burns.
We got a new wood stove a couple days ago. I absentmindedly braced myself on the hot open door while reaching for a piece of wood and pretty severely burned the palm of my hand, probably 2nd or 3rd degree burn a I got an instant dollar-sized blister.
Very painful, but my wife suggested egg whites. I dutifully separated the yolk from white and stuck my poor red throbbing palm in it. Stung for a good half hour or more, but I just kept it in the dish as I ate breakfast.
Then I looked online to find something better and saw these testimonials for egg whites, so I dipped in for another round and let it dry. Hasn't stung since. The dried egg white seems to keep it protected, I'm keeping it dipped every hour or so, and I'm able to type and use the hand, where I didn't think that would be possible for at least a day or two.
Amazing! Really works, give it a try, and thanks Earth Clinic for a fabulous site.

My husband just spilled boiling water on his hand. The pain was bad! I put egg whites and gauze on the burn and wrapped it with saran, to keep it moist. The Pain is practically gone, we will see tomorrow about the blistering. Thank everyone so much for this great site.

Tonight I splattered hot grease on my hand. Although I immediately put it under cold water, the burning continued for the next two hours until I put egg whites on it. Ahhh...relief. It dried like a liquid bandaid. I was pain free until I washed my hands later in the evening. Another coat of egg whites and I was pain free again. I'm a believer.

Was so pleased I had read the egg whites remedy when yesterday I burned my finger on the side of a very hot frying pan. Had just cooked my last egg but there was still a residue of white in the discarded eggshell, I smeared this on and YES amazingly the pain stopped instantly. I smeared finger a couple of times more over the course of the evening and this morning just a smooth pink seared patch on my finger, no blister, redness or residual pain. I have been telling everyone about this miracle first-aid burn treatment!!
About HONEY for burns..a couple of years ago I poured boiling water into my hand instead of my tea-cup (go figure!) I did the ice water thing immediately to help the pain, then put a big blob of honey on the scalded surface of my palm, covered this with a cloth and put an ice pack on top. The ice helped with the pain but I had to keep renewing it. After 2 hours when the pain had finally subsided I removed the cloth and there was no sign of the scald at all. It was as if it had never happened. The honey was wonderful for the healing the skin, but the egg white is fantastic for the pain of a burn.

EGG WHITES, REALLY? YES!!! REALLY!!!
Hello, all....I'm sure you are aware of the multiple postings on here for egg whites, I have read them all......so let me save you some time. It does work!!!!! I am typing this with my left hand soaking in a bowl of egg whites and absolutly no pain or burning sensation at all.
Earlier this morning at 7am (it is now 10:45am) I burned my hand with scalding HOT coffee, by accidentally pushing the button on our automatic dispensing coffee maker. Mind you this was 1 minute before walking out the door to drop the kids off at school. I screamed (thank goodness the kids were already in the car), cried, ran my hand under cold water (which really didn't help too much), told my husband what happened, then walked out the door with a Spiderman ice pack we had sitting in our freezer. I kept the ice pack on during the drive and for a total of 2 1/2 hours once back home.
I still had severe pain and my ice pack was completely melted. After calling all the moms I knew for alternatives, I couldn't stand the pain any longer....so I opted to jump online and look for home remedies. Praise God that I ran across this site and tried the egg whites which stopped the pain immediately. Even when I take my hand out for a few seconds to do something, the layer or coating of egg whites on my hand keeps the pain from coming back.
Not sure how long the burn will take to completely heal (I will comment again when that happens), but all the redness and pain are gone and it LOOKS like it will heal fine, without blistering or peeling. WE'LL SEE :o)
****There is one piece of information I would like to share: The temperature of the egg whites determines the soothing level of the remedy. Occassionally the pain or burning feeling would come back once my hand warmed the liquid, so I would add another egg white to the bowl to cool it down. The colder the egg whites, the less pain you feel.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!!!!!! I WOULD NOT HAVE TRIED IT IF THERE WEREN'T SOOO MANY COMMENTS LISTED.

My Daughter who is 7 accidently back into my Husband's moped yesterday and burnt her arm she ran in to the house and put a rag on it and in the process she tore away the blister that immediately formed. The burn is about 4 or 5 inches long and about 2 inches wide. Half of it is exposed new skin because of the blister being torn away. She was in pain and saying it was stinging I went looking for advice for her and found your site. I opted for using the egg whites as it had the most replies and seemed least painful for her. I cracked and separated an egg and tore out the membrane of the egg placed the membrane over the burn and applied the egg whites covered it and she was out of pain almost immediately we continued to keep it wet and when she woke up this morning I took off the bandage and it still look gnarly but she is in no pain. Thanks for all the great help and my daughter thanks you also. I sure would have never thought to us egg whites I just wanted something that would not hold in the heat.

Oh my goodness! I found this site last week for a DIFFERENT ailment. Last night I was microwaving potatoes (to have a baked potatoe faster than normal). The microwave is on top of my fridge. They were in, on high, for about 10 minutes. I pulled out the bowl to add more water and spilled the water down my left arm. INTENSE PAIN!!!!! WORSE THAN HAVING MY 10 LB. BOY 13 YEARS AGO!!!!! After holding freeze pops on my arm for about an hour I finally remembered this site. I was VERY SKEPTICAL. I only had 2 eggs. Very carefully, I used my pointer finger and put a thin layer on the burns which covered about 75% of my lower arm. Instant relief. I tried to lay down but they dried and the pain came back. I took 1 paper towel and soaked it in my only 2 egg whites. I covered the burn, wrapped it in saran wrap and went to bed. This morning there are NO RED MARKS, NO PAIN, IT'S LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!! I am shocked and so VERY VERY VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS WEB SITE! I LOVE ALL OF YOU! PLEASE DON'T STOP SHAING YOUR HOME REMEDIES!!!!!

I burned the three fingers on my left hand by touching the lawn mower muffler and the pain was very intense I couldnt stand it anymore, pulled up this web site and tried the egg thing. I used 2 eggs without the yolks, like Madge would say "your (I am) soaking in it right now" And typing w/one hand. Still stinging a little but major difference in the pain, only been soaking for 10 minutes or so, Time will tell. I would def recommend this. The only way I could get out of pain was cold water and then I would be ok for about a minute or two then I would haft to go back under the cold water and it was getting pretty annoying. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRY THE EGG WHITES IT WORKS.
