Receding Gums and Tooth Infection

I have found for receding gums or mouth infection mix 6 drops of Oregano to 1/2 capful of coconut oil. Soak it up in a cotton ball and put between cheek and gum line. Or where one might have an infection. It does wonders. A plus side effect is it treats sore throat and any type of bad breath.

This is just interesting. Yesterday I went out to water my garden and the oregano was completely eaten by something other than human. Just further evidence of natural protective instincts and the oregano, although distinctly savory, was the food of choice.

The local hardware store sells what is labled "Greek Oregano". We planted some and it smells just like my bottle of wild oregano oil. It's hot when you eat it, too, like the oil is. So you might want to grab a pack of seeds before big pharma notices.
The package of oregano I bought in the spice aisle smells and tastes nothing like it. It's just floral scented and not spicey at all.

My body reacts badly to medicines and remedies, so I always start slowly. I wasn't slow enough yesterday and got what seems to be my period, except it's over 10 days earlier.
I dad a sore throat for months, I finally went to the doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics which did nothing apart from giving me an infection. Back to the remedies.
I made oregano tea with a teaspoon of dry leaves, I gargled it and felt nothing, then I used about a pinch for a litre of water and it didn't do much good but no harm either.
Then I made 1/3 of a teaspoon for a cup of tea, and I immediately got the bleeding, then cramping all day long and nothing stayed in my stomach for more than a few minutes.
It worked because I didn't feel so much stuff stuck behind my nose/throat area, and it also relaxed my stiff neck, but I'm concerned about a possible long-term issue.
Also, I would like to clarify about a possible confusion in regards on the type of oregano used. All oregano is the same, the common noun is Oregano, Pot Marjoram or Wild Marjoram, the scientific noun is Oreganium Vulgare L.
I was thinking about getting oregano oil, but I won't anymore because even a single drop might be too strong for me.

Oregano JUICE? Not oil or herbal tea, but JUICE? I know there is such a thing only because somebody gave me a bottle of it several years ago (thrown out by now, drinking it did not seem to do anything), but is this really what is being called for here?

I know I'm super late with responding to your issue but better late than never if you haven't already found a solution. It sounds like you're very acidic. If you want results, stop drinking carbonated drinks, eating meat and processed foods. Those things are very acidic to the body and viruses, parasites, and bacteria thrive in an environment like that. Go vegan. If you must eat meat, don't eat ANY fried food. Learn about acidic and alkaline foods. You want to eat alkaline foods. Buy plant derived minerals.. I buy mine from Amazon. It's worth the price. Your body needs minerals to function at it's optimal levels. MD's will never tell you this or prescribe minerals. Hospitals and pharmaceutical companies have a close relationship. You can't trust them. You may want to lay off the Vit C. I've read in a study that it actually promotes outbreaks unless taken at very high doses. I've also read Niacin works well and could possibly cure it if taken for 6-9 months. Oil of Oregano is good too. Hope this helps.

Hi. I have similar problems with Staph and have been taking oil of oregano for years instead of using antibiotics. I wanted to add that turmeric also helps with the inflammation but you also need to take black pepper with it. The turmeric is much more potent when you add the pepper.

I have been suffering from the outbreaks for the past three years. I noticed stress brings it on and different dosages of vacyclovir gets rid of it faster than others. I was coming down with one when I started the oils back at the end of Feb. (I also applied a mixture of a drop of oil to vaseline on outbreak zone) It never fully came out and no reoccurrence. I try to do three to four drops under my tongue every morning with rubbing the oil in the spine daily. It's been a little over a month and so far so good. The smell and taste is very strong but a small price to beat this. I advise caution with drops as burning can occur. I allow saliva to form before swallowing to digest and avoid burning my throat. Others can try water. I hope to check back in a year and say not one outbreak has happened since starting. Hopefully this works.

The best is Wild Oil of Oregano (Mediterranean only; not less than 75% Carvacrol). However, be aware it kills good gut bacteria, the reason it's great for helping cure candida. Take a good probiotic to stop the bad bacteria and replenish the good.
My large intestine has suffered tremendously due to 2 surgeries, a colonoscopy and antibodies (plus years of prescription drugs to treat ear and yeast infections), resulted in abcesses and excruciating IBS systems. Research is showing when the good gut bacteria is compromised from meds, sugar, stress, etc., the gut suffers.
If anyone has candida symptoms or any intestinal discomfort, read Healing Your Gut by Jini Thompson. The cleaning from the colonoscopy left me with little good bacteria and the days following the procedure, I was on my knees in pain with terrible bloating, ICV not opening/closing properly and intestinal blockage. Two months later I'm finally able to leave the house.
See a good naturopath or homeopathic practitioner if need be.

Hi there - regarding the MRSA; Allimed 450mg capsules (medical strength) has been documented to succesfully combat MRSA. Dr. Peter Josling headed the research into allicin - the active ingredient in Garlic. I have used garlic in many forms succesfully over the years - never to treat MRSA, but if you google allicin and mrsa you will get his research and the results. Source the Allimed from the UK - it's cheaper there. Good luck

And, considering the highly profitable business of medical supplies and medical-grade this n' that in the U.S., I don't worry about only getting hooked into the Manuka-only or medical-grade honey promotions. There are many sources of superb quality local and bioregional powerful raw honey from small beekeepers. In fact, local honey has allergy-prevention benefits as an added plus. (Due to the devastations recently experienced in bee populations, there has been a reduction of quality raw honey availability in certain areas, sadly).

Medical grade Manuka honey has been found to stop MRSA. There are many articles on the Internet about this. It does say that "medical grade" will remove any impurities in the honey, which may be found in grocery bought honey, that could cause further problems. Best wishes.

Dear Gilbert, AZ, I would not use oil of oregano for carpal tunnel, back and knee pain. Maybe someone else has tried it and would be able to advise you better...
What I would try is peppermint essential oil (diluted if it is too strong for your skin straight.) You can massage it into the pained area several times a day. Also, try taking turmeric (4 capsules 2x a day) to reduce your pain and inflammation.
Drinking lots of water is also important. If you add a T.. of Raw Unpastuerized Apple Cider Vinegar to your water, that may also help your varioius troubles as well.
Let us know what helps you!

Fyi, it is not necessarily true that if a product is labeled "Oregano Oil" and not "Oil of Oregano" it is actually marjoram. For instance, Sprouts carries a product labeled "Oregano Oil" on the front but on the back it specifies that the product is "Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil (Origanum vulgare)" and is "standardized to 70% Carvacrol. " Origanum vulgare is different from marjoram, which is actually Origanum majorana. So I think some products are just labeled simply as "Oregano Oil" to be more easily recognizable to the consumer? In any case, I just wanted to clear that up in case people were concerned about products they may have in their cupboards not being authentic based on the specific wording.

Radrevd, it seems best to not even mention nutritional supplementation to MD's, and thoroughly research any type contraindication w/ pharmaceutical medication that may occur, on our own. Lots of info here on E.C. from past posts in the "Remedies", "Ailments", and "Supplements" sections at the top of page.
For the low thyroid, heart rate, and blood pressure, Potassium Iodide and L-Tyrosine are indicated.
Hope this helps and good luck.

stumbled on your site this morning. Have been using Oil of Oregano for ten years with minimal to no sinus infections or cringing pain behind my ears. Recently started sanitizing my mouth (pockets) with a shot of Porter and a drop of OoO. I then swallow and follow with up to eight drops of OoO in a shot of Porter... Got to get the drops down somehow! I added Echinacea/Goldenseal Tuesday to reverse the onset of sinus infection. So far, success!
The term 'oil pulling' is initially confusing. Swishing or sanitizing evokes a better word picture.
I have not tried ACV for a nasal rinse. I had a perforated septum following surgery in the Navy that is now fully eroded. It's no wonder I sufferred chronic sinusitis and bronchitis. The septum is supposed to trap incoming particles while moistening air before it hits the lungs. My Veteran's Hospital physicians are a bunch or inept quacks that tremble in fear when confronted with an educated patient like me.
I will visit frequently for additional insights. I need to find balance or harmony between Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, low heart rate and blood pressure, and complications from familial atrial fibriliation. The VA has taken a hand off attitude to my herbal supplements and refuse to even provide thyroid medication.

I have a problem with scaling skin from Eczema or psoriasis and rosacea on my face. I use a couple of things that seem to work as long as I keep up with regimen.
Cup of Extra vergin coconut oil (I like scented) with about 10-20 drops of tea tree oil extract and 10-20 drops of lemon oil extract. Smells wonderful. Let that sit for 15-30 minutes if you can. Then I use this cheap lotion Dermasil from Dollar General. Best EVER!! I let it sit on my face as long as possible to get it soaked in then wipe off excess. My face can get a bit shiny from it, but I will take shiny over scaly any day.
I do this every morning and night and my skin is normal looking and back to peaches and cream. If I get off schedule it comes back within 24 hours though. Doesn't heal it... just keeps it at bay.
I hope it will help you some anyway. Different conditions but similar too.

On the subject of Eczema - I have been giving my teen Oil of Oregano in capsules (one in the morning and one at night) to help with her Eczema; this has helped trememdously with the itching and some of the redness. We have tried the cortizone cremes from the doctors and that did not help her at all. I've been reading here today on the suggstions of using Apple Cider Vinegar and plan to try that. I can remember as a small child my grandma taking vinegar to help with her ailments so maybe there is something to this.
As a side note I personally am taking the oregano capsules as well for sinus relief (have been for three years). I used to have a large problem with my sinus passages closing up when I laid down for the evening. I was taking a ton of OTC medications to just be able to go to sleep. I started taking this after reading up about the many health issues that are related to what is in our blood stream and that this herb can help with this. I do belive that this herb has helped us a lot.

I have just starting taking Oregano oil everyday, so I don't know if it is working yet but I am hoping for the best. I heard about it through my stepfather he lives by the stuff (for everything). My brother also takes if to boost his immune system. He has been taking it everyday for the last 4 years and hasn't gotten sick. Therefore, I think is is safe to take on a daily base. I take 4 drops of it in the morning and 4 drops at night. I also rub it on the base of my spine since that is where the virus lives and the oil will seep in through the skin.

Oil of oregano killed the MRSA. Here it is 1 year later and i thought i was MRSA free, and there it is a new nasty boil on my inner thigh. I went and bought ____ ___ , just ask for 1 oz __ __. (accept no substitutes, must say ___ on bottle ) I have used the reguler strength in the past, this is a few times stronger. For 2 days I took 2 droperfulls per day (180 lb male ) than went to 1 droperfull per day for 2 weeks. This stuff is very (medicine was not created to taste good ! )chase it like a shot. I put oil of oregano, and a big square Bandaid on the boil the first night and it burned like hell .The next morning put a hot washcloth on it( brings it to a head) and it opened and drained. put the oil and bandaid on it for about 5 days. Incredible healing. I still continue one half dropper oil daily and pray to God it does not come back. I have tried EVERYTHING a few of them are listed on this sight.Turmeric did not do much for me and irritated my digestive tract. Some seemed to help, but gave limited results. This worked better than anything (including some very expensive antibiotics) Get the oil online for less Please try this, I posted this because I want to help people, and I hope this will work for others

I picked up a Staph infection from a friend who had slept on my sofa. After, 7 days-I got 3 skin eruptions on my inner thigh and starting feeling sick. After seeing a doctor-he wanted to put me on a string of antibiotics. Antiobiotics usualy leaves me with a yeast infection or thrush. After having such bad experiences with antibiotics, I went and got oil of Oregano for about 20.00 I used 4 drops in water and 1 drop under my tongue, Within 2 hours-my energy came back and I started to feel better. After 5 days-I can no longer tell that there was anything wrong with me, in the first place. I used oil of Oregano before when eating out because most restaurants are very dirty and full of workers that carry bacteria, so it has always worked for food poisioning but it also worked for staph and the boils that appear as a sympton of this infection.

Just wanted to say very quickly that after reading several posts about oil of oregano helping with inflammation/joint pain - I decided to try it tonight. OMG!! Let me tell u - the clicking and popping that I have been experiencing the last two months disappeared!!! (My ailments are actually an inner ear problem with a misaligned spine) but when I rubbed the oil on my knees, shins, shoulders and neck - I felt - LITERALLY - instant, instant relief!! I could not believe it!! As I stood up and walked around for a bit - no popping - no clicking!! This gives me so much hope! I will continue to use this as one of my arsenals and though I know we are not allowed to state specific brands....I do want to say the one I bought is ___. I will also take it orally to help with the tension in my spine. Will keep u posted.
Thank you so much EC!!! :0)

I have been using oil of oregano for over a year. I put a drop on my finger and apply it to a tooth that was starting to abcess. I had to put it on about five times a day but in two days the pain was gone and never got as bad as the one that had to be pulled. I would get it in a healthfood store to make sure it is safe for digesting. I'm not sure if essential oils for inhaling are the same. *oreganol* is the brand I have
I start to put a drop on my finger and apply it to the glands under your ear by your neck. One or two drops per side. Then I put a drop on my finger and put it under my arm pit because there are glands there also. I do this about five or more times a day. I have been able to ward off a cold completely when everyone else has it. I didn't have any because I lent it to someone and I went a few days with out using this. I got very sick and was in bed for five days. when I got it back I used it and two days later was up. I think I should have used it longer and I didn't. Now I got it back. I guess because the cold got a start here, now it is going to be hard to get rid of it. Now I made a cup of hot water, 1/2 a large garlic diced, 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of ACV and the juice of a Lime. I am loosening up already. Oh and the acv cured the hot flashes I had.

Hi-Please do yourself a big favor if you are bothered by what the dr calls-athlete's foot type rash. For over a year I tried every cream, spray, powder on the market-doctor after dermatologist with biopsy gave me everything-presription including 2 mos of Lamisil pills and cream. The dermatologist got mad when Lamisil didn't work after her biopsy. Well, I prayed so hard and then found Oil of Oregano-wow! 3 days cured-its been months and its still gone. I diluted with olive oil under my tongue and later used the gel capsules to fill and take orally. I diluted this very strong oil with olive oil on the rash itself-stops that horrible itch, too. I later learned Extra Virgin Coconut oil is anti-fungal and mixed the oregano oil with this and used this on the skin. I need to know more-Iam very grateful to Earth Clinic-I learned about the evcc-extra virgin coconut oil from this site. Also, I really never knew what the rash was from-I think it was a Candida fungus type rash -it seemed way worse when I ate sugar. So, I also had to clean up my diet dramatically and I still stay away from processed white flour and sugar etc. But, try Oil of Oregano-anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti parasitic/worms. Great for wiping Candida out. Blessings and good health to you all. I would say-research all you can about all of these oils: Thuja, Thieves oil etc as to there healing qualities.

Oil of Oregano is by far the number 1 remedy for tooth pain. I suffered from pain after having a crown put in. I was scheduled to go back to the dentist for a procedure to have the crown drilled to remove nerve endings to put a stop to the pain. Well, I bought a bottle of Oil of Oregano that had 70% carvacrol, brand name Solaray. I put a few drops on a cotton ball and placed it on the bad tooth and just bit down. It was kept there for about 15 minutes but, just after about 1 minute I could feel instant relief. Oregano oil worked for all my friends that had a tooth problem too! Oregano oil is NOT the herb in your kitchen cupboard, so don't make that mistake. It also works for other problems too and I always have a bottle in the house. No ands, ifs, or buts about it oregano oil will kill the pain almost immediately! Oh, I never had to go back to have anything done with my crown.
