I would like to use your method of curing dogs from mites, etc. I would be most appreciative of the dosage, such as how much sulfur, which kind of sulfur, perhaps flowers of sulfur? The duration of keeping kerosene on the skin. Finally I would like to use it on myself, too.
Since I look after rescue pets, it would be a boon to know the precise procedure.
I am enjoying your posts. Have a blessed and prosperous New Year. Om

I make a point to follow your posts because of the animal rescue work you do. As you well know, rescuers and breeders alike must become medical specialists in order to avoid completely draining our pocket books and making our veterinarians rich as Croesus, yes?
In my own dealings with treatment of mites, despite the temporary elevation in my heating bill [we've had -35 below in our neck of the woods] Ted's remedy is superior because it easily allows you to treat the entire body of the animal, as opposed to spot treating only the obviously affected areas, thereby removing any haven which would allow the mites to hide and continue to reproduce; the downside for some is that it must be repeated weekly for up to 8 weeks.
In relation to kerosene and turpentine, do you spot treat for mites topically or do you dose orally? If this cure is superior to Teds, how often do you apply it and is there any special way you mix it up? [I read in the turpentine and kerosene section and most recommended either mixing it up considerably or orally 2-3 drops.] If you use coconut oil in the mix, doesn't the area treated with the coconut oil also remain damp and allow heat to escape from the animal as it never will dry? Do you use it in conjunction with MMS?
I admit to never having used either MMS or kerosene or turpentine but after reading the EC pages am quite intrigued!
Thanks for sharing your experience :)
Mange Remedies
Thanks for your interest. You have no idea how much research I have done for hours till my eyes ached. I came up with treasures. One of which is Walter Last. I knew his name already many years ago when I read his booklet on the wonders of BSM, as well his support for ACV , in conjunction with BSM.
I am using Ted's mange remedy on myself. Borax is incredibly nice for hair and skin but after some usage the skin/hair need a good oil pack to make up for the resulting dryness. I intend to use Borax for myself in future as well internally. The animals get borax in their drinking water at the present time.
But first to MMS. It is so affordable and so effective. As the healing begins with the wet to dry it is also necessary to moisturize the skin after the treatment. People I know personally have cured their dog of parvo just with a few drops and within three days he was fine. What a boon to pet lovers. The effect MMS has had on the mites in my eyes and face and somewhat on my scalp was quite dramatic. I have, even at my age, skin that draws compliments from people. Nothing could be seen of mites except the missing eye brows. I am still working on them. The rosea has disappeared but I have not had any stress lately and when it comes I will adjust myself so that it is not stress. My skin around the eyes became like dry thin paper but is now back to normal. I still have to irrigate my eyes with MMS.
Kerosene/terebinth is an old folk remedy and you can google Kerosene Experiences. These are people mainly in Europe and an eye opener (when you read Walter Last) of what Merk Corp. has done to prevent people to cure themselves and pets of cancer, diabetes and many other ills by using kerosene or turpentine.
On the body, kerosene, turpentine can be used in conjunction with sulphur powder. I am still trying to find sulphur powder. Entire body if necessary, add VCO, leave on for half an hour and then off with it. The latest I found is that these two remedies also strip the body of radiation and are a superior cure . These two have been used for over two thousand years and more. There are also kerosene baths.
However, look and see why "benzene" is sold in pink or blue, thanks to Merck and Co.
Once I have been able to obtain sulphur powder, I will treat my dogs from tail to nose with e-collar on. Internally it must be taken with honey or sugar. Bill writes about this. It is a super dewormer. MMS is hard to use for multi pet deworming as it has to be done hourly for a few days and with many animals it is not an option.
If I have to answer more of your questions I will do so. Namaste, Om

I wonder if what you are calling a mite is what I might call a tick; the mites I have had to eradicate are microscopic. The ticks I have encountered I first put a drop of essential oil of some kind on them - lavender, lemon, tea tree is very good - and wait just a few minutes; the strong essential oil kills the ticks very quickly and I can pull them out with bare fingers [which I do wash well afterwards with soap and water]. One caution; don't wait more than a few minutes to remove the tick after applying the essential oil; the oils tend to dry the tick out very quickly, so if you wait too long, ie 10 minutes, the jaws of the tick are frozen shut and it makes removal a bit more difficult.

I do agree MMS could be the 1 thing any high volume rescue should have on hand.
After reading up, for *me*, Ted's remedy is still the ideal choice and I have found it effective.
Am very intrigued by kerosene, particularly after reading up on candida.
So much to learn by reading EC :)
Thanks again, OM!

Dandruff Shampoo
Dandruff Shampoo
There are some fantastic stories on this site if you scroll down and read some of them! I would look to bolstering your dog's immune system through the use of probiotics. The constant antibiotics will have wiped out you pooches naturally intestinal flora which is essential for proper nutrition and preventing allergies. The premise is the same in humans. And many consider introducing a raw food diet?
If you search the internet for diet for the immune system some great ideas come up.
We have adopted a year old beagle/lab rescue from the SPCA, he was starved and had antibiotics for an intestinal bug. He had severe diarrhea and wasn't eating well so I bought him probiotics with the spirulina. I also added wet holistic puppy food and pureed pumpkin to his diet. He is doing very well and has put on 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Looks like mange is rearing its ugly head so I am going to try the dandruff shampoo and add diatomaceous earth to his diet. Wish me luck! I'll let you know how it goes.
And thanks for all the great posts!

My puppy had a traumatic demodectic mange experience which included an overdose of Ivermectin such that she went blind for a couple of days from the side-effects, before the vet flushed the insecticide out from her system. That was three weeks ago.
Since then she was placed on the Amitraz spray. That didn't seem to show much effect, and I noticed my puppy was scratching quite a bit, and there were pimples showing on her head and body, plus some shedding of her coat.
After reading your posts today, I decided to experiment with mixing mustard powder into her shampoo. After her bath, I applied some of the mustard mixture into the Aloveen conditioner and massaged them onto her skin.
It's been 12 hours since my puppy's bath and I noticed she had not scratched herself even once. Shall keep the routine for the next few days and hopefully, the results will be good.
Thank you!
Mustard
I have not bathed her in the mustard yet and I plan on doing this today or tomorrow. Any ideas on what type of after shampo rinse would be good and not dry out too fast? I plan on doing her brows & face with q tip very carefully. I am working on her immune system with supplements but let me tell you after a year of restricted diets (thinking this was a food allergy) I finally bought a mini microscope and found it is demo mites. The mustard kills them too but I have only treated spots. I am hoping I don't have to bathe her in this stuff every day as she has super thick hair and I am not desparate enough to shave her just yet. Any ideas will be welcome.
I have been giving her the oral IVERMECTIN and upped the dosage for over 2 months now and there is no change at all. I think they are immune to ivermectin and I don't want to further damage her immune system. My other small dog does not have the mite or any itch problems at all. I am set on boosting her immune system and using the mustard washes. Any ideas about dipping this dog with mustard will be welcome. Also I have run the mustard thru coffe pot and used nothing but the juice but not sure if it is a powerful as mixing distilled water with the ground mustard. I hate the grains left from the powder left in her hair as it looks almost like the demo mite eggs.

My question is could the demodex mange be causing some other illness? Also he is very thin and this upsets me to see this as he was the biggest puppy, now he looks so thin and you can see his rib cage. Is there anything I can give him to get him to put some weight on and put his poo back to normal? Please help me I can't afford the vet bill at this time as I don't work and I have ill health. thank you

My black cocker spaniel periodically breaks out in a rash. We thought it was an allergic reaction to the dog park but after reading these posts it seems like it might be mange or mites. His latest bout appears to be his worst so far. His vet previously rx'd a topical cleanser as well as Gentamicin Sulfacte Topical Spray. This seems to work; however, I decided that it might be more efficient to try Ted's mange cure to see if that helped.
I didn't bathe the dog in Ted's solution as he'd just gotten his hair done at the salon (who called and notified us of the rashes on his stomach which they thought were indicative of an allergy or staph infection). Instead, I mixed 150ml of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution with 300ml of distilled water then I mixed in 1 tablespoon of the borax (laundry cleaner). I put this all in a 500ml bottle and shook it until the borax had either mixed in or formed a solid mass that settled at the bottom of the bottle (I assumed the settlement was the portion that couldn't be dissolved). I then put the liquid in a spray bottle and sprayed the areas of his tummy which had the rash. I also sprayed some on his back and tried to push it through his hair without messing up his cute cocker spaniel hair cut. While the instructions recommend bathing in the solution once a week, I've sprayed the tummy area several times since the initial application as I thought that would be close to simulating a full body bath for the effected body parts. I've now begun to notice that my dog's black hair has been lightened as though the 1% hydrogen peroxide is having a bleaching effect. Is this typical? Is it because I've sprayed the solution on my dog more than once?
Although the rashes appear to be drying out, I don't want to keep spraying my dog with the solution because of the hair lightening effect. Despite this, I do still want to continue to promote the healing process. In between weekly applications of the borax/h2o2 solution, can I resume using the Gentamicin Sulfate spray or will this decrease the effectiveness of the borax/h2o/h2o2 solution? Please advise.
Question: I read in the post above something that makes me suspect that I might be able to substitute the H2O2 with ACV. If that is true, would I use the same proportions. Please let me know.
Hydrogen Peroxide, Apple Cider Vinegar, Vitamin E
★★★★★
Initially ( wear surgical gloves ): washing the area with a mixture of peroxide and apple cider vinegar, watered down a bit to ease the discomfort/burning. Massaging this in. Pat dry any excess.
Next: massage the affected area with a very high IU content of Vitamin E Liquid ( I used 30,000 or 35,000 ). ( I also cured my own life-long Eczema of the hands with this strength of Vitamin E, the lower strengths do not have the same effect. )
I repeated the Liquid massage with peroxide and apple cider vinegar for only 3x ( 3 days in a row ); after that only the Vitamin E massage 2x a day until obvious clearing took place. ( Within 2 weeks or less, hair was returning nicely. )

I have a 9 1/2 yr old Female Chihuahua and she weighs between 12 and 14 pounds in which I love her very much and about 3 month ago I noticed a round crusty area on top at the end of her back where her tail start going up in which it look like a bruise but there was a hole in her skin and blood around the area and on her hair and on the pillow she lays on... She yelp when I was examing it and touching it and the only thing I thought to do was put a Neosporin on it, like I do when I get a cut or scrape so it wouldn't get infected. It seem to clear up than it came back and I was lost and when I saw tears come out of eyes and one time one of her tears fell on my arm when I was holding her and I just broke down and cried because I am below poor and I do have a job but I don't get only 9 to 16 hrs a week and only make $7.91 and hour. I was searching on the computer and come across your site and it has been now a month and I and she is getting worst it has spread on her back and her her neck and she is unable to sleep at night but it seems not to bother her as much during the day as I noticed at night when we go to bed.

I will be starting the solution on her tonight... Anyway, I bathed her as soon as I found her, and did the used motor oil thing as advised by two people with pretty good dog knowledge n experience. I didnt rinse it off, then days later I was told I was supposed 2 rinse it off after a while SMH. I didnt really like the idea of the oil so I started researching after I did it once.
I found out that it can do more harm than good, and I found the borax treatment, and then I found this site. I also gave her a dose of Revolution a few days afta I got her. The first Borax bath was on 4/22. I bathed her with sulfodene first and just poured the peroxide solution on her from her head down her back from a bottle. Needless 2 say, half of it was wasted and I doubt it was effective. The next 5 times so far, ive improved this bath process by far. I sponge her down all over paying attention 2 her bald/hot/redspots. I do her head n face, her eyes, she closes them anyway. I sponge and spray her undersides, and pour the last of it all on her. Then, I let her go NO DRYING. She acts like a retard 4 a while shakin n runnin round. She get a borax bath twice weekly 4now, every other time with an initial sulfodene shampoo/teatree oil soap bathe. 1 bottle of H2O2, two bottle full of water(use the empty peroxide bottle), and at least 3 tblsn of 20 mule borax till it wont dissolve nomore(and I shake it). I also mix 1part raw organic ACV (with the mothers) and enuff borax till saturated and spray her regularly, and rub her hotspots and baldspots with cottonballs w that. I also put cooking oil on the hot/bald/balding spots sometimes.
Sometimes I make a borax paste wit the H2O2 n water, or ACV n water and rub it on her bad spots. BTW, She doesnt really appreciate any of this 2much, especially the spraying.
I put a capfull ACV in her drinking water, and sometimes a pinch of borax 2. I hav her on groundmeat and liver wit sum veggies if I hav any. I season it n brown it a bit, so its not fully raw. If I dont have meat 4her, I give her Merrick or Wellness (canned preferably) Their ingredients are good. I throw two calcium supplements in her food and cover it wit brewers yeast. She also gets some brewers yeast w/garlic capsules daily which she loves. Im tryn a opmimize her immune system.
Glad 2 say her stink has eased off over the last week or so. The rawness, black scabs and bleeding from her rubbing her neck/back on anything have also eased off little by little. She seems less irritated then she was. And she is in heat now! Im assuming this may have brung on the outbreak, as it seemed it got worse rt after I got her. 2day, b4 her bathe I noticed hair growth on her hotspots... YEAH! Its been a lil over 2 weeks, and 2day was her sixth borax bathe. Seems 2 b improving so far. I'll keep u posted.
