We took Pebbles our 13 y/o chichuahha in for her routine vaccines, she died within 10 minutes. The vet had just given us a clean bill of health. I do no that the rabies vaccine was given not sure what other vaccines may have been given. I just don't understand why a house pet needs rabies after they get so old. The vet said her lungs just filled with fluid and she went into cardiac arrest.

I am devastated. I had a mixed chihuahua toy breed half poodle, half chihuahua, that wouldve been 2 months on the 6th of this month. I have had her since she was 3 weeks old, even weaned her off the bottle. I took her to a vet Saturday morning, and had her first set of puppy shots performed. Shortly thereafter, I started noticing that she was in alot of pain all over, I couldnt even touch her, but they told me to let her rest that she was probably sore. The next morning, she had vomiting and diarrhea. I fed her pedialyte and she did drink some. Around noon, she took her last breath and died in my arms. No one will give me a clear explanation as to what happened. The only thing that the office is telling me is that theyve never had a dog die from vaccinations. My dog was perfectly normal before I took her for her shots, I feel so responsible and I cant get the image of her dying out of my head. Can someone please give me some insight as to what may have happened? Thanks...

Recently we had our 18 month old collie cross female dog vaccinated for her routine booster shot against distemper, parvo, and kennel cough. She showed no adverse reactions immediately. Two weeks after her shot she got a severe ear infection, she was taken to the vet. Over the following four days she visited the vet every day. Her health dramatically deteriorated. She became disorientated, went blind in one eye, drooled at the mouth, was unable to eat or drink without spoon feeding. By the second to last day she was going round and round in circles, on the last day she was paralyzed. We had to have her put down, it was awful, distressing, and horific to see a young, healthy, fit dog become so ill, so fast. The vet had an autopsy done which showed that she had a genetic tendancy to distemper, (it runs in her family.) It is extremely rare, but she got distemper from the shot because she was predisposed to do so. It doesn't end there though, we discovered that last year her brother died of the exact same thing.

First week of May we took our healthy cat for a booster because we had to board him for a week. At Glenmore Vet. Hospital a Dr. Crocker took our cat in the back. When she returned, she had also given him a lukemia Vaccination which we hadn't asked for. He began to lose weight, first he ate ravenously. Then he began to vomit and not eat. He died Friday night of Pancreatic and liver cancer after losing almost 50% of his weight. We're devastated. We feel we killed him by trying to protect him.

If your pet has suffered a vaccination reaction or if you have questions about what to do regarding future vaccinations, I strongly urge you to visit www.Alt4Animals.com. I found Dr. Falconer after my completely healthy female Weimaraner died due to a vaccination reaction. She spend 4 weeks in intensive care at one of the leading veterinary schools in the country and they could not save her. This website is loaded with great free information. If only I had found it sooner.

Our 5 month old lab just died suddenly after a visit to the vet. He got a booster and rabies shot. He got his shots around 1PM and by 7PM he had grown sluggish and eventually crawled under our bed and passed. He was fine when my wife left the house for 2 hours only to return to find him. My daughter wondered what was up with him, but didn't know to worry. None of us did. We've never heard of pets dying from boosters. We're not sure it's the shots just yet. The vet is performing tests, but I'd be surprised if it was something else.

He was just a pup!

I have had real problems regarding vaccinations for my dogs. Pups that have died a few days after getting a parvo vaccination. I see stories here now and its quite clear that likely these shots are not very safe for our pets. There was an article in dog fancy magazine a few years back about over immunization damaging our dogs' immune system. For us older folks weren't we taught that once any immune system is exposed to a virus-disease it will be (if survived the experience) immune for life from whatever the version. Yet today we are taught by Vets-Drug Pharmacy companies that we must protect our pets yearly for life. Hog wash. The only disease I see in dogs that is a real deadly problem is Parvo. It is so prevalent everywhere. I was told by one Lab that makes one Live Modified Parvo Vaccine- (yah that I used and had several dead pups after) this company told me that once vaccinated the dogs become lifetime carriers and shed the virus periodically . Thus the reason Parvo is so prevelant-widespread-is because we vaccinate so much against it. It's now hard to find a dead killed Parvo vaccine-which would not ever be spreadable. Of course its a bonanza for a vaccine company not to want to rid the world of a virus-so no wonder you can't find the dead killed versions anymore - we have such a greedy group - thinking money - not good health. If anybody has any results of trying to heal an infected pup with parvo using H202 please speak up. I am beginning to experiment with it as a curative remedy for Parvo which can be so difficult and expensive to treat a pet.
