Hi there,
Can you take ACV every day forever? Or should you only take it when you have an acute symptom?
With all the benefits I see for it, I'm wanting to know if I can just take it always? What about my children and pets? I would be terrified to stop it with the horrendous health problems we have had in this family and the relief the ACV has brought us.
Thank you so much to this site and all the contributors.

Does ACV in pill form work as well as in the liquid form? It sometimes give me a bloated feeling in the stomach after mixing the vinegar with water so am wondering if the pill form is alright as a substitute.

I have tried many of the recipies posted here and by far the best is to mix the Apple Cider Vinegar with apple juice. Having said that I still can't stand the taste. I had to stop because it was just too hard for me to drink. It has been almost a week and I can still taste it in my mouth. All my food tastes funny and I have a rotton taste in my mouth all the time. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions to get my taste buds back to normal?
I read on this website also, that applying the Apple Cider Vinegar to the underarms helps control body odor. I also read that you rinse but do NOT use soap. Can anyone tell me why that is? This stuff is so stinky to me....
Thank you friends for any information you may have to help. :-)

Could you tell me, if the ph of a good apple cider is 2.5 or so, then how can this be good for trying to keep you PH level alkaline, what happens internally for this to be able to happen.
Thank you, Gary

I know that apple cider vinegar is good for gout and alot of other problems like weight loss and arthritis and more. But I see that a lot of people are asking what is the mother. It is when you buy vinegar that have not been processed in making so it is cloudier than say Heinz which is clear and processed so all of the healing properties are loss. Where as unprocessed vinegar with the mother ( is cloudy and floats around in the bottle is part of the apples used to make the healthy brand of vinegar). Can be bought at most health food stores.

In reply to Angel from Dubai regarding acid reflux. I was going through the worst of my life and tried drinking green tea with ACV. It made it a hundred times worse. So a friend of mine told me to drink plain hot water with nothing in it cause it washes the acid down. Sip on the hottest water you can. I tried this remedy and within 1/2 hour the acid reflux was totally gone. Don't eat anything right away and if it doesn't work have a second cup.

Chegul69 maybe try digestive enzymes to see if it is undigested food causing problems. You may have food fermenting in your stomach not digesting.
Also anxiety, panic attacks may be caused by B3/Niacin deficiency.

Hello Peggy, Debbie and Angel,
Well its been a couple days from the post and I've tried Zantac, Mylanta and herb teas... It seems to return later in the day. I should also add when added this post I was going through some tough anxiety and panic attacks ive havent had in years and I'm sure that added acid into my stomach that was not needed. When I would hit my panics attacks I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and perhaps acid building up. At this point I'm getting kinda worried.
Cheers!

Adding baking soda to the ACV will for the most part neutralise the acid. The warm feeling in your stomach may be the fact that the food is not digesting properly and is sitting in your stomach. I know a lot of people take these together but I don't agree with it. Acid reflux is caused by too little acid not too much acid in your stomach.
Try the ACV without baking soda.

Im new at this. Just started using the ACV yesterday. I am confused about the baking soda. I would think that would aggravate the stomach if taken every day. I'd like to see what answers you get to your question and what the need for the baking soda is?? I started taking a ACV pill everyday and also drinking the 2 tsp of ACV in water and sipping on that throughout the day.

I recently got a physical and showed I had raised triglycerides everything else was fine. So I started first to change my diet then I wanted to begin Apple cider vinegar cure Ted speaks of. 2 tablespoons of Acv(Organic) 1/4 teaspoon of Baking soda in a glass of water. I've only been doing this in the morings for now along with good eating habits. I'm on my 2nd week of this treatment and feel like my stomach stays very warm all day. Its starting to bother me somewhat. Feels like acid reflux or heartburn setting in... any advice will help.
thank you in advance!!!

I picked up ACV Extract capsules and wondered how effective the ACV is in a capsule versus the bottled liquid. Does anyone know if there is a difference if any, and how can I figure out if the 2-200 mg caps I take a day is equal to 2 tablespoons in water recommended in the ACV dilution recipe? To note, I was told by the vendor that their ACV Extract capsule is more potent than 'regular' ACV in capsule form.
It says on the label that the ACV is "standardized to 35% acetic acid". What does that mean?

the best way to get it down is to plug your nose and use a straw positioned farther back in your mouth and then after you're done lick a spoon dipped in a small amount of honey.

It keeps Amazing me, how many people do not know the Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar.. A tenant of mine gave me a Jarvis book in 1994.. I read that book to become healthier.. It opened my eyes.. To Better Health for pennies per day.. I have been promoting ACV ever since.
The ACV book that Deirdre published has been a big help.. I work close with a Temple in Thailand were I now am semi retired. , . Yes, promoting ACV.. But I think that everyone should read up on ACV.. I ordered 9 ACV Deirdre's book to be sent to the Temple for their Library.. I also Had Amazon send 9 of Jarvis book.. Then I contacted the BEST Organic Apple cider people in USA (I think better then _____s) They will be sending 55 gal. Drum to this Thai Temple.. Who will be distributing it in Thailand.. Just bring in your container. We will fill it up with Health for you and your loved ones.
I hope that this letter gets printed.. So many I have sent, never gets to your eyes..
Much Love and caring, Alfred

When I take it, I drink the diluted ACV before or during a meal. Helps with digestion; stimulating/increasing the digestive acid in the stomach (read this in Jarvis' book), and helping kill off any bacteria in the meal you're consuming.

Hello,
This may seem like an odd question but I suffer from seasonal allergy. I always smell this foul smell in my nose. Other people can smell it too, its not bad breath but due to allergies. I read about mixing apple cider vinegar with water and dipping cotton ball and putting it in your nose, by inhaling that, the smell would go away. But my question is, is it safe to inhale vinegar directly? Please help.

Hi
I think its important to note that when I'm reading articles or opinions on ACV that it is not clear that individuals are aware that ACV stands for Raw unfiltered unpasteurised Apple Cider Vinegar, (containing Mother) which is quite different to Apple Cider vinegar in the supermarkets.
Please ensure that readers are aware of this difference. Regards

For Staceybrister from Vancouver,
There is a difference taste, imo, the ACV has a milder taste and rarely does the scent/fumes go up my nose when I drink it, compared to the distilled Heinz vinegar which has always given me a 'kick' and once I developed a headache from it, I stopped and switched to the ACV. You also have more nutritional benefits from the ACV. You can certainly Google for a list of ACV benefits, and come up with a lot of info. HTH.

Hi again Liz, as I said I have never had weight problems in my life but you are right, after the 40's it gets more difficult even if one only wants to get rid of a few pounds. I only suggested the eat fat lose fat concept (not a diet, it is just a way of eating that you keep even after you have lost the weight) because it seems to make sense to me, not because I have tried it. I think most people wouldn't think it could work but the thing is that it not only seems to work but people seem to keep the weight off quite easily. I think that the most important aspect is that you eat all the things you like most so you are not making a huge effort, therefore it is easier to stay on track.
Many experts nowadays don't believe at all in counting calories also because many people end up not getting enough nutrients and that is not a good thing. I often see thin women who look like they are starving themselves to death. I believe they see themselves as being more beautiful that way but to be honest I am not sure most people who see them think the same. And if you don't get enough nutrients you might indeed lose weight but your health will suffer, just think about your skin, your hair, your bones..... Well, just my opinion anyway and on the top of everything else the opinion of someone who doesn't have the same problem!

To Liz from Boston: You're right getting older isn't for sissys, however, if you lower your calorie intake to 1200ish and walk 20-30 minutes a day you still will lose weight. As a matter of fact, if you lower your calories to 1000-1200/day and don't exercise you'll still lose about 1 pound a week. I did it and I'm in my 60's.

Stacey - The organic brand does taste different than the regular "H's" brand. The organic brand has a lighter flavor and by comparison, you'll find it tastes a little like white wine.
I loved all types of vinegar before I ever stumbled across this site (I could swig it right from the bottle if I had to... haha), and already had four different types in my pantry.
I actually prefer the taste of the stronger, non-organic ACV and strangely enough, it worked better for me in lowering my blood pressure than the organic did. Weird.
When I switched from regular ACV to the organic, my BP went back up. Guess it just depends on our individual systems.

Hi Francisca - Believe me, I am informed and I've tried "something else". I've tried pretty much
everything else over the years. ;-)
I didn't advise the other poster to eliminate fats from her diet, as I know they have their place in our overall health. I said that ultimately, it's less calories and more movement that works best. And it does. If someone is eating 2, 000 calories per day (regardless of how many of those calories come from fat) and not exercising, they won't lose weight.
If they lower their calorie intake by even just a few hundred calories per day, which isn't that difficult, and do something as minimal as going for a 10 minute walk every day, they will lose weight. Drop the calories to around 1,200'ish and walk for 20-30 minutes a day and they'll lose it even faster.
As for fat intake, I include it in my diet daily (mostly healthy fats like Omega-3's, olive oil and flaxseed oil), and I typically have a couple of walnuts or a tablespoon of peanut butter on a slice of whole wheat toast.
I never had difficulty losing weight fairly quickly up until around age 45. I went through menopause early (at 42) and woahhh! It is SO much harder to lose weight post-meno. I'd hoped the ACV might help break the cycle - expedite things, but sadly - it did not.
But, as they say - "Getting older isn't for sissies. " I'll SAY! ;-)

Just to note - here is where I could have used a "Thumbs Up" button. ;-) I totally agree with Debbie. Aspartame is evil (mo).
Read up on it.... It is not to be put into the human body lightly. I personally would NEVER knowingly ingest it. It is poison as far as I can tell. You would be better off with a drink with sugar or honey (I use molassas myself) in it any day of the week.

Why does ACV give me so much "nervous" energy? Am I detoxing or is it just its nature? I do not consume much caffine, only a few cups of green tea in the morning, so I really feel the effect.

Hi Stacy
Crystal light contains "aspartame". Please read up on the dangers of aspartame! It is very dangerous and has been implicated in such things as Parkinsons Disease, & seizures amonst others. You would be better off putting raw honey into your ACV drink (which contains many nutrients) or even stevia (a sweet herb). I am wary of anything "sugar free".

I'm new here and haven't quite figured this site out... But I love it, already. I wish I had something to offer now, instead I have a question. Can anyone tell me, please, does the ACV you all are using taste a lot different than the regular clear heinz stuff? Hi Liz, it sounds like to me that you might profit from trying something else! I am not overweight myself, so I can't tell you whether it works but there are several books about eating fat to lose fat. I have read Trick and Treat by Barry Groves but there are others. If you have tried everything and nother worked..... I know that it is not really a possibility people think about because of all the bad publicity fat has got but in Britain that is already been changing and they are advising pregnant women to eat a full cooked English breakfast because fat is so necessary for a healthy body!

Stacy - Yes, it's definitely about what we eat and not about the ACV alone. I took the ACV w/ water and a few drops of honey religiously - three times every day for two months and never lost an ounce. And it's not like I was stuffing my face with high fat/high calorie foods, either. I ate sensibly but still never lost weight drinking the ACV mix.
I continue to take it though, because it definitely did help lower my blood pressure.
Unfortunately, for those of us fighting the battle of the bulge, there really isn't a miracle supplement. It's the age-old 'less calories and more exercise' that actually works.

They tell you to dilute it in water, but it's still too gross for me, so I drink it with Crystal Light! I mix 8 oz. of Crystal Light with 2 tbsp of ACV 3 times a day, always before I eat. I also took sugar out of my diet completely! I was never one to check the amount of calories in something before I bought it, but I have been really good about it lately. I dont buy it if it has more than 150 calories in 1 serving. Eatin smarter has a lot to do with the weight loss I think!
