Research shows that BHT is used to treat genital herpes and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). People apply BHT directly to the skin for cold sores too. So I guess it doesn't have much side effects.

I'd like to know from Oscar and Steve F.: For how long must one stay on BHT to get rid of EBV, Herpes? How can you test to see if it's gone?

Thank you.

I am taking black seed and humic/fulvic and a ton of lysine. Most of those other things increase nitric oxide which immediately causes an outbreak. This is my 2nd long term run on BHT and I have about 4 coldsores breaking out now due to an increase in nitric oxide. I have no idea how to even manage it anymore but thank you for your suggestions.

Hi Oscar,

I started BHT yesterday 200 mg. The reason I'm trying it is I have crazy symptoms but bloodwork is fine. 4 year nightmare. I've tried so many things with no help. Possibly maybe fungus systemic? I'm just lost so I thought I'd give this a try. Today I'm feeling very sick to my stomach. Do you know if this can happen? Thank you so much.

BHT Brands to Avoid
Posted by Henrietta (Houston) on 10/06/2016

I asked about cellulose one time and as I recall, it is what is used to make vegetarian gelatin capsules (as in taking powdered herbs, etc in capsule form). The alternative form would be traditional natural bovine gelatin which is made from boiled animal bones, which are much healthier. I'm not totally 100% positive I remember that correctly but I did ask a pharmacist and that's what I remember and understood since I learned about the process in a nutritional course. Many times I open the vegetarian capsules which have more of a harder plastic like feeling than bovine and stir the contents into juice. Sad to see the older healthier methods outdated in favor of a cheaper to made product.

Hello and thank you for this post. Do you know the process of how to make BHT molten and then pour it into ice? I have a family member that has chronic viral infection of the gut and I think this method would help. Just unsure of how to get the BHT molten and then how to use it with ice. If possible, please clarify the procedure or technique. Much appreciated!

I understand about how to make molten BHT solidify again with cold water, but why is this better than just taking oral BHT?

HPV
Posted by Elle (Chicago, Illinois) on 08/29/2015

Hi Oscar,

I've recently been diagnosed with a strain of HPV that causes genital warts. I've received TCA treatments for both external and vaginal warts: three for external (around the vagina), one for vaginal (opening/internal).

So far, the external warts have fallen off, healed, and so far, none have reappeared. As for the vaginal warts, some came out, but deeper in the vagina, others did not. After about 24-48 hours, I noticed they reappeared again in the spots they'd come out at, only in the vagina.

I'm making sure to document my progress, or lack there of, and will make another post in about a month.

So far, I am in DAY THREE of my BHT treatment and am taking one dose of 250mg in the morning on an empty stomach with water. I am 5'1" and approx. 118lbs.

I started the BHT treatment the day after I received my last TCA treatment, and thus far, the vaginal warts have returned, but the external vaginal warts have not (pray for me, fingers crossed! )

I've also ordered a higher grade of BHT (because my "wholesale" BHT is giving me a bit of dry mouth) that should be here tomorrow. That will be a bottle of 500 capsules with 350mg/capsule.

It saddens me that the vaginal warts have reappeared since starting the BHT treatment and it makes me scared that this treatment may not work for me, but I also recognize that it is only Day No. 3 and I should probably up the dose and start taking a higher grade...

I'd love to get a bit of feedback from you, as I am scared out of my mind!

Thank you, Elle

BHT as Anti-Viral

Hi Oscar,

Thank you for posting such specific and scientific information! I was just recently diagnosed with herpes 2. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I figured I would check out as many treatment options as possible and make the best of the situation.

I haven't taken Valtrax yet, but I did get a prescription for it. Do you know of others with my condition that have taken BHT? If so, do they still have outbreaks if they were taking it daily? And finally would you consider BHT to be safer than Valtrax?

Dear Rsw [ Uniontown, Ohio ]. Thank you for responding. The manufacture`s recommended dosage does seem a good way to go with that what is a mixture. 600mg of monolaurin with 7.5mg of inosine. Is this a tablet or an oil filled capsule ?There must of been a reason for combing the two. I am totally new to this monolaurin stuff.

Again, the manufacturer`s recommended dosage seems a very good place to start. Thank you for helping out with this one Rsw, ...Oscar

Hepatic Cirrhosis
Posted by Ugo (Italy) on 04/29/2015

To Oscar Syracuse, New York

Dear Oscar,

This is my first post as I found this web site about one month ago. I am a doctor of 60 years. In my youth I contracted the Hepatitis B, completely solved. In the 1975, I contracted the Hepatitis C genotype 1b. From there, I made routine examinations, always with borderline results, except Gamma GT which was double norm value.

In these last months, after 2 biopsies, I was been diagnosted Hepatic Cirrosis 4th stage; I made many echographies with contrast and many TAC with contrast: hepatocellular carcynoma was diagnosted. One month ago, surgical procedure TACE was applied. I am waiting for the next TAC control at the end of April.

At the moment I do not follow any theraphy for treatment of this disease.

Note that I am using drugs for depressive insomnia (Gabapentin twice a day, Mirtazapin once a day, Citalopram 20mg once a day day, Lormetazepam once per day).

I read all your answers about BHT treatment. I would like to start the BHT treatment for myself with increasing dosage with the following steps:

  • 1th day 50mg, once a day
  • 2nd day 100mg, once a day
  • 3rd day 150mg, once a day
  • 4rd day 200mg, once a day
  • From 5 to 14 day, 250mg, once a day
  • 15th day 300mg, once a day
  • From 16th day, for 2 weeks, 350mg, once a day

At the end of the previous schedule, it starts a new session for upgrading the therapy by increasing the last dose with a second dose with the following schema:

  • 1th day 50mg
  • 2nd day 100mg
  • 3rd day 150mg
  • 4rd day 200mg
  • From 5 to 14 day, 250mg
  • 15th day 300mg
  • From 16th day, for 2 weeks, 350mg.

So, at the end of the 2.nd month, in absence of adverse effects, I will have a therapy of 350mg twice a day, that I plan to continue indefinitely.

Of course, the therapy will be stopped, or reduced, in case of any adverse effect. I know that the BHT therapy has to be taken at empty stomach and far away (2-3 hours) from foods and drugs. At the moment, I still follow a therapy for treating Hepatitis C, Cirrosis and cancer: Nattochinase, Serrapeptase, Acid alphalipoic, Ldnaltrexone 4.5mg, Selenium, Lipid Monolaurin, anticarcinoma Budwitt diet (based on faxseed oil and chottage cheese).

I would like to know if my therapy BHT plan is correct or not. Thank you for your advices Sincerely regards Ugo

Hepatic Cirrhosis

Dear Ugo from Italy: You state that you are a doctor. For that reason I do assume you are up on the newly available treatments for hepatitis C. Have you tried said treatments or not ?

Also, from what you stated you are in the advanced stages of cirrhosis along with indications of liver cancer. Is this true or not ?

Now please do NOT get discouraged. I need to know all that you are up against.

The BHT regime you outlined is a VERY good one. It carefully ramps up the dosage of BHT with the necessary attention to BHT`s effect on or for you.

The good news is BHT has worked for people with advanced stages of cirrhosis. Also: BHT in the dosages we are discussing showed a dramatic lifespan increase in mice prone to cancer. See Dr. Denham Harman`s studies about that. This is because BHT is a well documented so called scavenger of free radicals and reactive oxygen species. A simple but important example is the hydroxyl free radical [ . OH ]. BHT readily donates a hydrogen atom to [ .OH ] . [ .OH ] + [ .H ] does = [ H-O-H ]. WATER. The same is true for the free radical [ .CH3 ] + [ .H ] does = [ CH4 ] METHANE. A stable and relatively nonreactive molecule.

BHT is about 320 times more effective as a hydrogen atom donator as is say vitamin E. This is a result of those tightly packed tert-butyl groups. BHT has two said tert-butyl groups. The torque and bending of those hydrogen atoms on those tert-butyl groups weakens the carbon atom to hydrogen atom bonds on those hydrogen atoms.

The overall effect of all that is that BHT very much enhances a person`s ability to cope with said free radicals and Reactive Oxygen Species.

The reason BHT does destroy lipid coated viruses is all about BHT`s size and lipophilic makeup. We are really talking about the metabolites of BHT, the altered compounds that enter the bloodstream.

Simply stated: The metabolites of BHT are somewhat water soluble but still highly lipophilic.

Please stay in touch with this forum whatever happens. I do NOT know what else I can say. Of course I hope for the best for you with or without BHT....Oscar

Dear Oscar, thank you for your answer.

I confirm my diagnosis of Hepatic Cirrosis 4th stage with livel cancer.

One month ago the cancer was treated with Transarterial embolization (TAE) and the next echography gave no clear results about the real effects of the procedure. I am waiting for a TAC control (in the next weeks).

In this situation I have to treat the Cirrosis and the cancer.

As I told you in my first post, I plan to use the BHT treatment for the cirrosis and other drugs/substances for the cancer.

What I would like to know is their compatibility with the BHT therapy. I remind you the list:

  • nattochinase
  • serrapeptase
  • alpha lipoic acid
  • ld naltrexone 4,5mg
  • selenium
  • lipid monolaurin
  • Budwig diet (flaxseed oil and chottage cheese)

Thanks!

Ugo

Dear Ugo [ Italy ], I have thought about you a lot since I last responded to you. I am concerned that the two doses of 350mg of BHT per day may be too much. Weight and age are important. The less you weigh and the older you are: The more careful you need to be with taking BHT.

Careful monitoring of your liver function tests should provide meaningful answers as too how much BHT you should be taking.

You discussed carefully ramping up your dosage of BHT. I do suggest at whatever dosage of BHT you are taking be leveled out at whatever dose you are taking once your liver function tests start to get worse if they do. Two 350mg of BHT does seem like too much unless you weigh more than 200 pounds.

I weighed about 170 pounds when I successfully treated myself for hepatitis C. I was only using TWO 200mg capsules of BHT at the most. So that is 400mg of BHT per day. I was close to 48 years old at that time. When I started the treatment I was 47 but became 48 in a few months of starting the BHT treatment.

Careful monitoring of your liver function is required for successful treatment for people in advanced stages of liver disease as you are.

Now you are a doctor and I do expect you understand what I am talking about. So again: If at any given dosage of BHT your liver function test results get worse, LOWER THE DOSAGE OF BHT TAKEN.

Look, I am very much hoping for the best for you with this BHT treatment. And careful dosing with those all important liver function tests is the ONLY way to establish what is the correct dosage for YOU.

Now you asked me about the advisability of 7 different compounds. From the feedback available: the selenium, and monolaurin should work fine taken in reasonable dosages. The others I really do not know about.

All I have to work with is the feedback available. NO one has ever done ANY clinical research as to what works with the BHT treatment and that which does not work well with BHT.

On a positive note: There was and is an: "S. from Sacramento" who did have stage 4 liver damage and also seemed to have liver cancer as posted in this forum. S was seeing an ONCOLOGIST [ CANCER DOCTOR ] and had very good results with the BHT treatment.

S. from Sacramento is the closest case history of the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C, I know of as to your situation.

This case history is there in the EARTH CLINIC`s archives SOMEWHERE. I will try and find it and if I do find it post a follow up to this response.

Also Ugo, Please never confuse me as being a Medical Doctor. I am NOT an MD or anything close to being one....Oscar

Dear Oscar,

I am writing after many months, because in this period I performed antiviral treatment Harvoni (Ledipasvir 90mg / 400mg sofosbuvir), 1 cp in the morning for six months.

Such treatment has led to the complete eradication of the virus and the improvement of all liver life parameters. Examinations were performed immediately after the end of the treatment, after one month and after two months; the same examinations are programmed after 6 months and after one year, as long as nothing happens again.

I will have also ultrasound scans with contrast, CT or MR with contrast. Ultrasounds every month, the CT or MR according to the ultrasound findings.

I did not start yet the treatment with BHT, as you suggested, but I plan to begin it in next days and after your advices.

Now I have some important questions concerning the hepatic cirrhosis which appeared several years after the infection of Hepatitis C, cirrhosis that in these last 6 months has got to give initial failure signs with marked edema of lower limbs, but in absence of any involvement with internal cavities.

Moreover, ultrasound examinations revealed the presence of HCC, confirmed by CT and MR with contrast. It was treated, according to the examination results, with 2 consecutive ablations with embolectomy without chemical compound.

This modified TACE, led to a reduction but not to the disappearance of the cancer.

My colleagues proposed a third embolectomy or a chemical ablation with ethanol inoculated into the carcinoma.

Known that there are still many uncertainties about the best action to take, discarding obviously the partial hepatectomy resection because, in the dimension of a debulking surgery, we can not ignore this neoplastic evolution of the hepatic cirrhotic tissue and possible metastases "viciniori" or distant and systemic involvement.

At this point, dear Oscar, I can not ask my colleagues who don't have the holistic, ethnic knowledge to read my illness. I will interpret the situation with the knowledge I have learned from ethnic, naturopathic and holistic medicine.

So I ask you if the BHT, at doses indicated in your protocols, is able to subdue the liver cirrhosis. Moreover I plan to support the BHT therapy with enzymatic treatments: nattokinase, bromelain, and others that were experimentally identified by the official medicine as scavenger, ie forming of progressive, continuous niches into fibrotic cirrogenous tissue, so digested and over time replaced by normal hepatocytes.

At the same time I would like to implement a per-os antineoplastic therapy, according to the following scheme: Paw Paw Cell-Reg (Natures Sunshine), 3 cps twice a day; Sutherlandia OPC, 3 cps 3 times a day; Amla (Phyllanthus Emblica) 1 cap daily, Viscum album European, 2 cps twice a day; Viola Tricolor, 1 cap 2 times a day; Mangosteen Plus, 1 cap daily; Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi), 1 cap twice a day; Cordyceps Sinensis (tonchukso), 1 cap twice a day.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated like any other suggestion from you or your collaborators who have confidence and skills on liver tumors.

Dear Helens from Australia, I did not know it was a problem for Australians to purchase BHT online. You can try this link:

Also, there are these online retailers:

1. LifeLinks

2. VRP [ Vitamin Research Products ].

Just type in those retailer names + BHT to find links. Then call the telephone numbers provided to find out if they sell to Australia or not. Please do report back with the results. Do they sell BHT to Australians or not ? ...Oscar

Hello Helen [ Australia ]. Well, I am happy to learn there is no problem for Australians purchasing BHT. Now I am not up on this " oil pulling " stuff and have NO opinion on it`s effectiveness.

Now from what wikipedia says about oil pulling you swish the oil of choice around and about your teeth and spit it out, the same as a mouthwash. I do NOT see any problem with that and the use of BHT to treat a hepatitis C or any other viral infection.

I would wait at least one hour after doing this oil pulling treatment before taking the BHT with water only on an empty stomach. You do NOT want to mix BHT with any oil at the time it is ingested. The reason for NOT mixing BHT with any sort of oil is because: When BHT is mixed with any oil when ingested the way in which BHT is digested is very differently than when BHT is taken with water only on an empty stomach.

When BHT is mixed with an oil at the time it is ingested it is encapsulated in so called lipo-proteins . This makes it impossible for the BHT metabolites to penetrate those viral lipid coatings. That is the reason for taking BHT with water only on an empty stomach.

So, I see NO reason why you cannot continue this oil pulling treatment used as I just discussed [ wait that one hour or more ] and then take the BHT with water only on an empty stomach....Oscar

Helen, pulling with coconut oil is a great way to saturate gingival spaces with readily metabolizable fat and strengthen gum health. I use coconut oil to brush my teeth for the same reasons. I see no time constraints for co-use of BHT; the BHT is ingested and the pulling oil is traditionally spit out.

If you know you have an oral viral infection, there is no reason that you cannot use oil with dissolved BHT for pulling. The amount of BHT that would reach your liver from pulling would be very small, so toxicity would be trivial. But the local concentration of BHT in your gums would be higher than achievable by oral BHT consumption.

I think that chewing a tiny amount of BHT without oil and not spitting it out is also capable of raising BHT levels in gum tissues to extreme degree. While the squeeking of the BHT crystals on the teeth can drive some people batty, the fine BHT powder created by chewing mixes with saliva and wedges into gingival spaces to dissolve slowly, for example, while you sleep.

The father of one of my clients had drastic lowering of HepC viral load within weeks of taking BHT. But in his case, his load never went to zero. But he was healthy and happy, playing the best golf of his life. I suspect that his hemochromatosis was a greater health hazard than his HepC.

I'm interested in knowing what adjunctive nutritional or hormone therapies you have tried with the BHT.

  • Loss of Muscle mass
  • Digestive challenges
  • Weight Loss:from 80kg in 2012 to 69kg now (underweight)
  • Fibroscan read 8.0 late last year
  • cervical spondylosis

Please I need advice, would you recommend BHT for me?

General Feedback
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 04/06/2015

Dear Byhisstripes from Lagos: I wish to begin my response by asking you :

1. How old are you ?

2. Are you male or female ?

3. How tall are you ?

The reason I ask these questions are to establish if you are under weight or not. Also fully 90% of all people over age 65 do have some degree of spinal degeneration.

But this dark urine is often but not always a sign of liver failure. There are other conditions that can cause dark urine. You really need to see a qualified MD [ Medical Doctor ] to get a qualified diagnosis.

But having said all that: I do not know of any reason you can not a least give the BHT treatment a try and hope for some improvement.

But do so with care and caution. Start and stay with NO MORE than 250mg of BHT per day and perhaps less. You should start with the lower dosages and find a dosage you are comfortable with and always lower the dosage if side effects occur.

On the upside of using BHT: I weigh about 200 pounds and have been taking 350mg of BHT with water on an empty stomach since 1997. As I stated so many times the BHT treatment as discussed by me did CURE me of both hepatitis B and C.

What I have NOT discussed previously is that: This BHT treatment has at the very least stabilized a spinal condition called scoliosis or curvature of the spine. This condition in me is a result of that old gunshot wound that caused so very much damage to my right side. Lost my right kidney and most of my liver along with the loss of and damage to the muscle tissues and even part of one rib.

The good news is: My spine has NOT gotten worse and is seems at least somewhat better than it was back in 1997. This is because BHT prevents so called " so called cross bonding ". In non-technical terms: BHT prevents stiffening up of scar tissues as you grow older. Or any and all tissues scarred or not. So it just may help you. I surely do hope it can help you. It seems worth a try. If it does not help you can always stop taking it for sure.

And for sure you should be doing theraputic exercises to help with the cervical spondylosis. Everyone NEEDS to do some exercise to remain or get healthy. Also drinking adequate amounts of purified water is very helpful for just about everything.

Also if hepatitis B is the cause of liver problems: The BHT treatment works best WITHOUT milk thistle and or supplements other than a standard multivitamin and mineral supplement . Vitamin C in doses of up to 500mg to as much as 1,000mg of vitamin C per day seem to not screw up the BHT treatment. Whereas many other supplements do screw up BHT`s ability to deactivate lipid coated viruses including hepatitis B.

So, in conclusion: If you choose to give the BHT treatment a try, keep it simple for best results. If the BHT works for you, you should see a rapid improvement in a few weeks or months. If NO improvement is experienced in 3 months the treatment is likely to NOT be working. Of course I hope it does work. But if does not work you need to look into OTHER treatments....Oscar

Many thanks for your prompt response Oscar, I'm a 43years old male with 5'10 ft in height.

It's very unlikely I have other ailment other than HBV as I have blood work done every 3 months to monitor my well being including liver enzymes. My last Fibrosis scan though read 8.0 which may indicates scarring.

I feel good inside of me and still ride average of 50 km cycling weekly The only alarming symptoms is loss of muscle mass and underweight. Which may not be unconnected with digestive challenges.

I can only hope the BHT will be of help. Thanks for your time and kind assistance

Dear Byhisstripes from [ Lagos ], Thank you for replying. I never hear back again from most of the people who ask questions of or to me. Please stay in touch with the EARTH CLINIC and ME by way of the EARTH CLINIC about all this.

On the upside: You are 5 years YOUNGER than I was when I first began using BHT to treat hepatitis C and B back in 1997. Being younger ALWAYS helps. There were and are reports by people who made remarkable recoveries from hepatitis B and C with the BHT treatment as discussed by me. I did have a very damaged liver as I stated.

What is left of my liver is now where my right kidney used to be. " The patient`s liver now resides in the renal fossa " is what a radiologist`s report does state.

So you have a lot going for you as compared to me when I first started my BHT treatment back in 1997. Just so you know: Within ONE MONTH of starting said BHT treatment my" liver function test panel " results were all but one in the NORMAL ranges. Also I tested NEGATIVE in that one month for hepatitis C with the hepatitis C RNA test.

It was years later that I tested NEGATIVE using the Hepatitis C and B antibodies tests. It takes some years to truly CURE one`s self of hepatitis B and or C infections using BHT as discussed. One person did test negative in less than one year, but that is NOT the usual pattern with the ANTIBODIES tests. You can and will be negative with the HEP B and or C RNA tests and still test positive with said antibodies tests.

Those viral load counts are a test of the blood ONLY. Said tests do NOT mean your liver is not infected. Even doctors seem to screw the meaning of those viral load count tests up.

From everything you have said to me: I do think the BHT treatment as defined by me is well worth a try for you.

Please do keep this EARTH CLINIC forum updated with any and all results. Wishing, hoping for a DRAMATIC improvement for you. Let this forum know WHATEVER happens. That is the ONLY way people have of knowing what works or does not work....Oscar

Dear Byhisstripes [ Lagos, Nigeria ]. I have NO idea what that long list of blood test results means. What did the doctor who ordered those tests tell you the results indicated ?

It does seem to me your doctor is concerned about conditions including liver function but also some other condition or conditions.

You ordered the BHT. Once you get it and start taking the BHT I hope I can help you.

Are you also infected with MALARIA ? Many people living in Nigeria are and that is why I ask you that question.

But do NOT get discouraged even if you are. We had one person infected with both hepatitis B and malaria who made a remarkable recovery with the BHT treatment. As you no doubt know: Both diseases are common in Nigeria and surrounding areas.

Please do take whatever drugs and such your doctor is prescribing and when the BHT arrives take it as discussed by me. If you tolerate the 250mg of BHT well it might be advisable to increase the dosage to two 250mg capsules of BHT per day or every other day.

I do pay attention to your postings. But this long list of blood tests makes me concerned that some condition other than but including hepatitis B is being looked into by your doctor.

What is your doctor telling you ? ...Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I thought I saw somewhere here where it said that BHT works well with vitamin B12? Now I have just read that it does NOT? I am taking BHT for Hep B and my viral load last time was 128.

Many thanks.

Genital Herpes

Hi Oscar,

I am planning to take BHT for GH. But I am thinking of applying a mixture of BHT and DMSO topically at the tail bone area and where the lesions usually break out. As it is well known that the GH virus hides in lower spine area and DMSO is such an excellent carrier, what do you think of this strategy? Do you think it is dangerous to do it this way?

Should I also take it internally in addition to the above mentioned strategy?

I was considering doing a multi-pronged attack (Olive Leaf Extract, Lecithin, L-Lysine, H2O2 + DMSO) at the same time as I am determined to get rid of this virus from my system. But I read you mentioned that BHT does not work well when combined with other treatments. So I am now considering doing BHT alone strictly but I want to see if attacking it at the place where it hides with the help of DMSO might be a good strategy. I'd very much appreciate it if you could please reply with your thoughts on this?

And thanks for all that you have done in helping a lot of sufferers by bringing to light the benefits of BHT.

Dear Anon from St.Charles, MO: What is GH ? Genital Herpes ? If it is then taking BHT internally and externally should help a LOT. Many people have cured this infection with a daily dose of 250mg to 500mg of BHT taken as a capsule internally. Also, BHT dissolved in isopropanol has been shown to be effective as a topical treatment ONLY. Isopronanol is toxic taken internally. You WILL get VERY sick if you drink isopropanol.

NOW DMSO is a very powerful solvent. Has been shown to penetrate even finger and toenails. This can be dangerous. Why not use BHT as prescribed in a relatively safe way and see if it works or not ? There is a VERY good chance it will work.

I have never used DMSO and therefore have NO opinion about it....Oscar

Yes Oscar, I meant Genital Herpes HSV2. Thank you for the quick reply. I will start with internal dose of 250mg and work up to 500mg a day. I intend to take it as long as it takes to cure this viral infection. I have had this for about 7 years with 2 to 3 break outs a year but I want to cure it now and do not want to pass it to my partner.

In Fowles book he suggests mixing with coconut oil for topical application. Do you think isopropanol is better? Should I just mix it with isopropanol or does it require heating?

Genital Herpes
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 12/20/2014

Dear Anon from MO, Please do NOT overdo this BHT treatment. Some is good does not mean more is better.

You have it right as to BHT taken internally: one 250mg of BHT with a gulp of water one or twice a day.

BUT, I only use the BHT dissolved in isopropanol as discussed every 4 or 5 days. NOT every day. BHT is powerful stuff and PLEASE do NOT over use it. If any adverse reactions occur do back off or use less of this treatment. If any soreness occurs in the treated areas you ARE over doing it....Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I started BHT at 250mg/day for a week and then upped it to 250mg twice a day. It has been about a little more than 2 weeks since I started BHT for genital herpes.

I also applied isopropanol + BHT mix initially for 3 days in a row and then slowed it down to once in every 4 or 5 days per your advice.

What I am noticing for the last 5 days or so is that it seems like the virus is trying to break out. I get the slight burning sensation but no visible signs or full blown breakout.

Does it mean that the BHT is fighting the virus and actively killing it? Interesting that I am having these symptom soon after I started taking BHT after being breakout-free for 5 months. Is it possible that BHT is causing some sort of die-off reaction? I certainly would hope so. I would like to believe that the virus is being chased out of its hiding spots and then getting killed.

Is it at all possible that it might get worse before it gets better? Just want to know what I am supposed to expect as part of the curing process.

As always, appreciate your time in willingness to help others.

Anon from St. Charles, MO: It seems to me the BHT treatment is working for you because you do not develop actual herpes sores. I do know what you mean when you describe feeling a sore coming on. I did have the oral type herpes sores many years ago. When that happens: take an additional 250mg capsule of BHT at that time. This will help ensure that no sores develop.

From everything you have been reporting the BHT treatment is working for your herpes infection. Just keep doing what you have been with that additional 250mg capsule any time you fell a sore developing. The BHT really does work well for most people who have herpes infections of all types. Used with the caution I have discussed it is for most but not all people a safe and effective treatment for herpes infections....Oscar

Can't wait to try it for fungal, etc. of the skin.

Newbie who just found this site. I've read through Oscar's statements on his view of taking BHT with water but previously I had read Steve Fowkes book which referred to dissolving BHT in oil. While I accepted years ago that everyone's body is chemically different (Edgar Casey) which takes into account different reactions to substances. The ingestion methods between these two approaches has me questioning which is better?

So I was wondering if any others have used BHT and what method was used.. water or oil?

Additionally, with food or no food? As well as what vitamin supplements to stay away from when using BHT and any adverse affects which may have been recognized?

Well for now I'll be scanning the posts to expand my knowledge by others first hand experiences.

Thanks, JT

Hello, will BHT work for non-viral hepatitis complicated by end stage cirrhosis?

My father has end stage liver cirrhosis caused by Primary sclerosing cholangitis. and has recently been seen at the Mayo Clinic and they said his male score is 24 and not sick enough to get a liver. He has ascites and fluid that is now in his lungs and he's having to get it removed daily which is painful. IL hospital put a tube through his back to remove fluid that sits above his heart that's extremely painful, in which Mayo Clinic said would need to be removed and to consider A shunt. He has Non viral hepatitis, colitus and a large hernia above his navel which they said cannot be removed until he eventually can get a liver. Thank you.

Hepatitis C
Posted by Sherlynn (Russellville, Arkansas) on 10/29/2014

Hi Oscar,

My husband has had Hep C for over 30 years and he is 63. He has high anxiety and depression along with fibromyalgia and was not a good (thankfully) candidate for the mainline treatment his Doctor offered him so we went searching online (he was diagnosed in 2005 & remembered he had a bout of Hep ? in the early 1970's after a hernia operation) and found LDN was helping a lot of people and in some cases eliminating the virus altogether. So he tried this for a couple of years along with acupuncture treatments which took his viral load at one point down to 600 from over one million but then for no apparent reason it went up to over 2 million. So...back to the drawing board, so to speak. In April I found an Alternative Doctor who claimed he could & had cured many people in just a couple of months with his Colloidal Silver. Even though we were skeptical we decided to try it and he has taken it for two months and his viral load is now 1.5 million. We stumbled across your blog or forum and are so happy to hear about this and anxious to try it. My husband takes a lot of supplements but is willing to follow your advice and just keep it simple for at least a couple of months. He works though and hopes he is not too fatigued to do his job in the maintenance field. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge and for bringing some much needed hope and encouragement for Hep C sufferers and their families.

Hepatitis C

Dear Sherlynn from Russelville , Arkansas: The good news is there is a so called " new generation " of hepatitis C drugs that are now available. These NEW drugs have been shown to be both relatively safe and effective and have the FDA`s approval. I do assume any competent MD is aware of these new drugs. They are expensive but your husband should be eligible to get them through some healthcare program.

There is also BHT that does work extremely well for some if not most people. BHT is very inexpensive and readily available. Because these new drugs are NOW available: I suggest trying the BHT for 8 weeks. If the BHT is working, dramatic improvement should occur within said 8 weeks. By that I mean a return to normal liver function test results along with a NO VIRUS DETECTED result or very low numbers with those viral load count tests.

Now from what you stated: Your husband has held up pretty well up until now. So, if he wishes to give the BHT treatment a try I see no reason not to. But if dramatic improvement does not occur it is time to look into the new generation hepatitis C drugs now available....Oscar

Dear Dave from Midland, Michigan, I wish to begin by thanking you for posting the response you did here at the EARTH CLINIC. I am very happy to hear that after 2 long years you are finally showing some significant improvement in your viral load count for hepatitis C. I can only hope your liver function tests are within the normal ranges. I do NOT know why it took so long for you to start knocking that viral load count down.

I expect or at least hope you are keeping the treatment simple and NOT using other supplements including: milk thistle, vitamin B12 and the rest. The ONLY supplement that seems to work well with the BHT treatment is a standard multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. And that is optional and NOT considered by me as part of the treatment.

So please do keep the BHT treatment simple and I very much hope your next viral load count will be UNDETECTABLE....Oscar
