Great Way to Get ACV!

Put some ACV in a jar, add some Torani syrup - the real kind, with actual sugar (I love raspberry) - put the lid on loosely and set it on the counter for a day or 6. The mother in the vinegar will ferment the sugar in the syrup. Add water to taste (I like mine strong) put it in a bottle in the fridge and take a slug of it whenever you want a little zing! It's rich and will be sour, depending on how sour you let it get on the counter, but if it's too sour, you can just add some honey but it won't take much because, although it's sour, it's a yummy sour!

Mine is actually apple raspberry vinegar because I like it strong, sour-wise. I cut it half and half with water and by the end of the week, it's pretty much apple, raspberry water kefir. Pretty strong.

I'm not sure where this should be added but... normally I have awful stomach pain from ACV or apples in general. I have IBS and I really don't know what it is that does it as I seem to be able to have both malic and acetic acid with no issues.

Anyway... for some reason when I mix the ACV into (diluted) orange squash as opposed to water, I get no discomfort at all. Isn't that bizarre? It's like a miracle!

I've tried I think 3 different oranges squashes now (Asda, Kia-Ora and Robinson's) and all three work. Maybe it's the orange juice in them... so I want to try that next.

Anyway... it just works so well that I wanted to let other people know, in case anyone else has a digestive reaction to ACV.

I do have a slight arthritic knee and have taken ACV over a number of years, and it does seem as though it has kept symptoms from worsening. However, I've never enjoyed taking the ACV until quite recently. This is how I make it more acceptable. I cut up a small sweet apple such as Gala (complete with pips and core), two tablespoonsful of ACV with the mother, 1/4 teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda, and approximately 80 - 100 ml of water, and blitz the lot in my smoothie maker. The result is a lovely apple juice drink, sweet yet slightly tart.

I know look forward to having the ACV instead of thinking of it as a chore to be gone through.

The recipe that I like using ACV is 2 TBSP ACV, 1 TBSP organic lemon juice. 1 TBSP raw unfiltered honey, 1/4 tsp. Ceylon cinnamon and a pinch of baking soda in 1 cup filtered water. Put in a blender give it a whirl to blend all ingredients and pour it on ice. ENJOY!

*One to two bags of Instant Korean Ginseng Tea (preferably certified as made in Korea)
*1 to 2 tsps of organic ACV
*1 to 2 tsps of Manuka (UMF 20+) Honey

Mix all in an eight to ten oz of hot water. Serves as a great and invigorating cup of tea. Because I my body does not process oxalate well and because I love what Korean Ginseng does to my skin and energy level, I researched only to find that ACV reduces the oxalate potency and therefore, it's easy on my kidneys. Plus, there are tons of benefits from the Manuka Honey. Enjoy!

A good way to drink Apple Cider Vinegar is to put a capful in a cup of ice tea or in chicken broth heated in a cup..soo good. Also I like molasses on toast or stirred in to a warm drink, it is rich in iron and minerals women need, especially around period time. Iron is not recommended as much for men because of prostate issues. Enjoy.

ACV doesn't really do anything to me but when I was on a quest to find cures for so many things in my life, I avoided ACV because it is NOT nice. I have a track record of being the bravest, so I hope you know how much I hate it so trust me, this recipe is so nice I crave it so much I had to limit myself to 2 a day, otherwise apple juice is expensive at this rate.

2 tablespoons of ACV and I either put enough baking soda for it to stop fizzing or 1/4 teaspoon of it. Add apple juice. I usually only do 3/4 the cup. That's it. See, I took time off my tight schedule to tell everyone this because it seems like people like me aren't drinking it and everyone's saying that it works for so many things, just not for me.

I have wanted to make ACV a regular part of my life but I have never been able to get past the taste. It turns my stomach. Today, I read a post left by Had from White River Jct, Vermont who said that ACV and baking soda tasted like honey if you sweetened it with Stevia. I had all three so I went and tried it and IT DOES! I can do this! I am so excited.

1 cup water

1 packet or serving of stevia

1 TBSP ACV

I also added:

1/2 tsp. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

1 tsp. Cinnamon

This changed the taste to a more exotic tea-like flavor but it's great both ways. I just wanted the extra health benefits of the Cinnamon and EVCO.

If you can't stand ACV, try this. It is amazingly delicious.

Just found an amazing way to take ACV.... And enjoy it!! Mix your ACV (can be any amount really as the taste is masked so well) and mix with ginger and lemongrass cordial ( I used greenbottle, but there may be a different brand in the US) and sparkling water... Yum!! I hope this helps :)

I've been using ACV for years and I am also a pro at passing kidney stones, 17 passed last year alone, (7 over Labor Day weekend) and have passed at least 5 a year since kidney surgery in 2003, the largest being 7mm. Now I have discovered from multiple CT scans that I have several 8mm stones in my kidneys and they are spasming quite often now. The suspicion is calcium and so I am supposed to cut out calcium except through food. A huge problem there - I am allergic to dairy, prone to stones and am in surgical menopause from cancer - so I have to have calcium to prevent osteoporosis. So what do I do? Nothing, except have surgery. So I have been told. Sorry just giving you my "credentials"...

Now let me tell you what I do with my ACV. I drink it several ways and I enjoy them a lot, even crave it on a hot summer day. I have been drinking ACV for over 17 yrs... Not consistently like I probably should. I am doing better now. I either drink it straight and "chase" it with something else, usually water, or pour whatever amount looks right and fill the cup up with water(I don't like measuring... ) but the best way that I prefer is 1 tbsp ACV, 8 oz warm or hot water, 1 tbsp raw honey and throw some cayenne in for fun, about 1/4 tsp. It's a warm, sweet drink. Very pleasant to me, at least. I am starting to add ACV into everything now to help with my kidney pain. I am also drinking lemon water or "lemonade", whichever is handy. (I was drinking some ACV while typing this and I was previously doubled over from both kidneys spasming and I can now sit up straight. ) There is also another remedy that my mom found my 2nd to last stone incident. It involves essential oils, apple juice and olive oil. I used this remedy and I didn't even feel the last 3 stones as I passed them! I was surprised when I saw 3 large stones in the toilet, no bleeding, no pain, nothing.

Mix 8 oz Apple Juice with 2 Tbsp Olive Oil, shake vigorously and then drink, 2 to 3 times daily until stone passes.

Meanwhile...mix together 10 drops each - Juniper, Geranium and Eucalyptus Radiata

Dilute with 1 tsp vegetable or massage oil. Apply 6-10 drops over kidney area and apply hot compress for 30 mintues once a day. Massage Juniper and Geranium on bottom of feet twice a day.

For me, I just pour 6 drops of each oil in my hand, plus a carrier oil, namely Jason's Vit E facial oil, and rub on the kidney hurting and apply the hot compress and leave it there until it gets cold. It smells so nice! As I am laying there with the compress on, I am sipping away at my apple and oil drink. I have not, so far, knock on wood, needed to drink more than 1 glass of the apple/oil mix. It's not the greatest tasting drink but it helps so much. Don't chug it but try to get it down as fast as you can and "chase" it with some plain apple juice. You will not feel the stone as it is so soft from the oils and the ureter is opened up to allow passage, that you will be amazed. Oh, and I passed the stone(s) with in a few hours. Like at the same time. It was quick and the oddest sensation to feel the stones coming out since they were fairly large ...

I use ACV to make salad dressing - juice of one lemon, 1/4 cup ACV, 1/4 cup H2O, garlic, onion, sea salt, ground pepper - put in glass jar and shake vigorously, add to mixed greens - tastes fantastic!!

I drink apple cider vinegar in a glass (8 oz) of spicy hot V8 juice. I don't notice the vinegar taste very much that way and it's easy when I travel, as I can take a six-pack of small individual cans with me. During a severe sinus attack, I sometimes heat it in the microwave, adding several chopped raw garlic cloves to the drink. With chronic sinus inflammation, I'd try just about anything so I could breathe. I also have sleep apnea, so I can't go to bed until I can breathe through the CPAP mask.

A very refreshing ACV "cocktail": In a short glass, add a few ice cubes, 2 tablespoons ACV (with the 'mother'), top off with ginger ale, and a dash of bitters. Goes down really easy.

Keep it simple, could not stand the smell, ect. I found by just mixing it with Lemon seltzer water was the easy and tasty way for me. I get 8 OZ of water, and for right now, a little over a teaspoon of ACV. The big bottles are priced right.

I have found a very good way to drink the apple cider vinegar. No need to pinch your nostrils! I add it to my juiced carrots and it actually enhances the taste for me. I add a stalk of celery also.
