Hey! That Jim from Rancho Cucamanga really hit it with his recipe for apple cider vinegar tea. My only problem with ACV was the taste. Blah! Just couldn't get past it. But his tea tastes really good. Thanks a lot Jim.

A few years ago, a friend of mine gave me a small pamphlet on the topic "Honey and Vinegar Uses". After reading the pamphlet, I began experimenting, and through trial and error, concocted a Hot Tea Tonic that I would like to share with your readers.

HONEY AND VINEGAR GINSENG TEA

Add a Herbal Ginseng Tea bag (Or Green Tea bag) to one cup of boiling water. Seep to desired strength. Remove bag and add one tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and one tablespoon of Sweet Clover Honey. Add seven drops of concentrated lemon juice and seven drops of concentrated lime juice. Stir until honey is dissolved. Cut a small piece of peeling from an orange and add the peeling to the tea (lemon or lime peeling can be substituted). Let the peeling seep for about a minute. Stir, drink and enjoy.

I have been drinking this tea almost every night for the past five years and have noticed many health benefits ranging from increased energy to sharper memory. I also use to suffer every spring from severe allergies. My allergies ceased at approximately the same time I started drinking this tea. I never made the connection between the disappearance of the allergies and the tea until I read your article on the benefits of ACV. I am 49 years of age and people say I look and act much younger. An elixir of youth will probably never be found, but this may be the closest thing to it.

When I was a young kid one day my sister came home and said that she had the best snack at a friend's house on the way home from school. She said that she would find out exactly what it was and that she would make us some one day. Her friend's grandmother had taken garden fresh cold thinly sliced cucumber slices and thin slices of sweet vadalia onion, sprinkling a fair amount of salt and pepper and then covering them with Apple Cider Vinegar(5% Acidity) letting them soak for ten or fifteen minutes. The girls used little wooden skewers to stab the sour & tangy vegetable concoction and used a small round soup spoon to sip the sour vinegar juice - they also had it served with an ice cold 6 oz bottle of Coca-Cola over ice (Talking about the acids, lol!!!). I had always has a taste for sour things like pickles, mustard, sauerkraut, and plenty of ACV on my turnip greens. After having this concoction once I soon developed a craving for it. It seemed whenever I was sick and had a fever, sore throat, ear infection or just about anything I would always crave the sour taste of these cucumbers, onions, salt, pepper, and plenty of fresh apple cider vinegar and would start out nibbling on them slowly until after ten or fifteen minutes began feeling better. No sooner that I would finish them it was no time until I was feeling so much better. Even before I heard that ACV was really good for you in my mind and my heart I knew that there was something really special about apple cider vinegar because everytime I consumed it I seemed to get over what was ailing me in no time and was heeled and it sure did make a believer out of me. It just works and I began to swear by it to all of my family members and to anyone else that I could testify too because I wanted them to get the same fast relief from ACV that I had received.. My sister that had turned me on to this supposed snack that turned out to be a healing remedy already liked this concoction and it didn't take much to convince her that it was a powerful aide in healing just about anything that ailed you. My sister and I still have the cravings for this vinegar concoction and my niece has also taken up liking the concoction also. I know that it's not for everyone because there are some out there (like my fiance" who can't stand the thought of eating or drinking anything with ACV on or in it.

Good luck to all of you that are willing to try this powerful anti-oxidant, it will change you're life.

I take ACV & water (8 oz) with about 8 drops of Stevia Clear Liquid and it makes it actually tasty. This is the ONLY way I can take it. Hope it helps others who find it almost impossible to get down. God Bless.

Here is the "cure what ails you" I give to my students, and they all use it and are back to the books/ or playing for the basketball team! It has an immediate effect for some:

3 TB Apple Cider Vinegar
3 TB lemon juice, fresh squeezed if possible
2 TB honey

you can add 1/4 tsp cayenne, and 1/4 tsp fresh ginger also if the first three ingredients don't work right away.

Mix in a little warmed water to liquify, drink, and then rinse the teeth throughly. After the initial rush, you can drink warm tea, or water to settle the stomach. Most have an immediate reaction where they get their voice back and clear out the mucus in their nose and throat. Try it, all the kids do, and now even their moms drink it and swear by it! One mom even works at the medical clinic and uses my cure instead of the doctor's one."

Carol also sent us the following apple cider vinegar recipe to lose weight.

"The cleanse: apple cider vinegar (1/2 cup), juice of two fresh squeezed lemons, maple syrup (to taste), and cayenne pepper (as much as you can stand) is a great weight loss combo..... go on a fast for one day, only sip this "lemonade" the second day, only liquids and this lemonade the third day, chicken noodle soup and the lemonade (or cabbage soup) the fourth day -- add fresh veggies, not carrots. And the fifth day, one regular meal and the lemonade, and you can be anywhere from 10 to 15 pounds thinner, and feel great!

I used to weigh 289 pounds. I now weigh 135 pounds.... and no one believes I am soon to be 47 years old....I also give my hubby the same thing, but substitute black molasses for the honey as he is pre-diabetic. Gives him instant energy and helps him digest his meals and he feels less sluggish... I love ACV!!!

Here's a suggestion for convenience in using the ACV/honey remedy. Start with 1 quart ACV and 1 quart good quality local natural unpasturized honey (preferrably in glass jar) and a clean glass quart jar. Pour half the honey into the quart jar. Pour half the ACV into each jar half filled with honey. Replace lids and agitate until honey and ACV are thoroughly combined. Then pour mixture into empty vinegar bottle for easier pouring and refrigerate. If you wish to add 1 tbsp. ACV and 1 tbsp. honey to a glass of water, just add 2 tbsps. ACV/honey mixture. This mixture combines easily with water of any temperature. This saves me so much time that I actually stick with the plan.

I have used apple cider vinegar for many years and it has to be the most universal natural remedy on Earth. I have found that adding 2 tbs of ACV to an 8 ounce glass of apple juice makes a much more palatable drink. It tastes similar to apple cider.

I just wanted to comment that if you take 4 tablespoons for honey on a daily basis, you may end up with a candida overgrowth (especially considering that most of us have a yeast overgrowth in the first place, at least to some extent). Candida overgrowth is a serious problem and will be exceptionally hard to rid off. The same is true about molases and apple juice. I think it is safer to stick with water when mixing ACV.

I have been doing this for about a month now and I love it. It has increased my energy and helped my mood. I feel much more pep when I use it. I have found the perfect formula for me:, it tastes like an apple soda.

Stella's Formula

8oz Water
2 Tbsp ACV
1/4 Tsp baking soda
1 Pack stevia

In case you are not familiar with stevia, it is a natural herb sweetner. It makes the Apple Cider Vinegar taste delicous and it does not add any calories! It readily dissolves in water and is much more healthy then chemical sweetners, you know the ones.. We are not allowed to market stevia as a sweetner in this country because the power that be would prefer us to keep using those chemical sweetners that are so profitable for them. But it can be sold as a supplement. You will find it in health food stores. It does not work great for coffee but works wonderfully for cold drinks and tea.

I take apple cider vinegar as a digestive aid (with EXCELLENT results). I mix 2 TBLS of Raw Organic ACV with 4oz of Unfiltered Organic Apple Juice and 4 oz of pure bottled water. To avoid DENTAL problems, I simply drink the ACV with a STRAW. To restore the ph in my mouth, I rinse and/or brush with baking soda and water.

I just mixed:

* a cup of hot water
* two tablespoons of ACV
* a little cinnamon
* a little honey

then drank it like a tea, and it tastes great-- (i also tried maple syrup, which works okay, but i don't think it's as effective as the honey.)

Hey Maree!!! I also drink the apple vinegar with apple juice, however, regular apple juice has a good 42 g of sugar!! Even if you go with "lite", which has splenda added, uh oh.. thats not good either. Soo...I buy Gerber's Baby Apple Juice which has only 13 g of sugar. This is the best route so far!
