I have been taking a grocery store brand of ACV for a week now. I take 2-3 tbl spoons twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. It has taken my daily headaches completely away, my skin is softer, and just when I thought it wasn't helping my weight, I put on a pair of jeans that I hadn't worn in a week, and they were loose! I've been pulling them up all day! I do want to suggest to definitely get the organic kind of ACV. I believe that it will work even better than the grocery store brand. I'm going to get some today. The only side effect so far is constipation. I hope by changing to the organic ACV that that will help.

Hello I was diagnosed with RA when I was about 35 years old. Over the last 11 years I've gone from walking and running to barely walking. A little over a month ago I found this site and decided to try the ACV. Now not being able to exercise I gained about 50 some pounds in 11 years. Since I've started taking ACV I have noticed that the RA has lightened up A little, But to be honest I missed a couple days of taking it, while in the hospital. Now normally, I eat pretty well and have had no problem with that. But when they weighed me at the hospital, I found that in the last month I have lost over 30 pounds without even trying. Now I have tried to loss this weight before on diets with no success. Now I'm just starting to notice that I am losing my appetite. So I'm not eating as much now. What a nice side effect to losing the pain of RA. My doctor has been after to lose weight over the last couple of years. Can't wait to see his face and tell him what I've been doing. I think he's gonna be shocked, I know that I was. Thanks Kurt

I've been using apple cider vinegar for about 2 months now, and I have to admit that it does give you glowing skin. I drink one tablespoon of organic unfiltered ACV in a glass of water once a day and use regular filtered as a skin toner on my face twice a day. I'm in my late 20's and have acne, and I saw immediate results in 2 days. My skin glows, even when I have a break out. I use other products for acne, but I have noticed that break outs are reduced.
Additionally, drinking ACV has helped my acid reflux. I do not exactly understand how consuming an acid helps, but it does. I suppose it is possible that my stomach does not have to produce and excessive amount of acid if I am ingesting one.
As a side effect, I did notice that I had the constipation problem other people mentioned. I found it was worse the more ACV I drank, so I just restrict myself to 1 tablespoon per day and give my body a break from ACV at least one day a week.
Weightloss-wise, I've not noticed any results, but I think this is because I am not significantly over-weight and eat a healthy diet in the first place. I'm a 5'8'' 155lbs woman, so even a 5-10lbs loss from drinking ACV would be a bit drastic. I may, over an extended period, lose a bit, but I think that ACV helps more if you have not been taking any weight management measures. I think it might be helpful if more people describe their lifestyle pre-ACV in the weightloss section so that people will have a better idea of what results they can expect.

WEIGHT LOSS = YES
Following up from my posts, I've lost 3 kgs (6.6pds) in 7 weeks. The weight started coming off in the 5/6th week. I also increased my drinking intake (of 425ml and 2tsp) to twice a day. I actually feel sick if I eat a couple of chips (your french fries?) or a nibble of biscuits. I can taste the fat in the back of my throat. I also noticed that I lost the craving for KFC. What an amazing thing this ACV is! My weightloss is not as rapid as some of the other posters here but it is working for me. All I needed was a bit of patience and faith.

I know many find it hard to believe but it is possible to lose many inches overnight. Under normal circumstances of course, this is not possible. However, if a person has a great deal of fermentation in their stomach and intestinal tract this will expand the stomach and waistline. The cider vinegar helps dispel the fermentation and it moves trapped matter out of the bowels.
When I ran one of the first colonics clinic in the UK, I had clients that came in with huge stomachs. They had lose pants after their first colonics session.
There was of course, much 'wastes of digestion' that came out of the intestinal tract along with fermentation which caused bloating and expansion.
If the person concerned took too much ACV it could have caused diarrhea and the expulsion of fermentation, which caused a reduction in the cherished waistline.
Cider vinegar is nature's tool. If used wisely and correctly, it really will help. But one has to keep at it.
I speak as someone with many years of authority on the digestive system and other modalities. Please read our latest book "Flood Your Body with Oxygen." Thank you for reading.

I read that apply cider vinegar is amazing for weight loss so I decided to test it and not change anything else except taking apple cider vinegar tablets twice a day for 2 wks. after two weeks i noticed no change in how i felt except that i gained 6lbs. 6lbs in 2 weeks! Needless to say, I don't believe apple cider vinegar works for everyone.

Follow up from my previous post... It is now a month and I have had NO WEIGHT LOSS though my clothes do feel a little bit loose. I tried taking the ACV with baking soda and it tasted like rotten raw potatoes! I drink 2 tsp ACV with 475ml cold filtered water, and sip it through the day. I increased my water intake because you do feel thirsty for water. Even though I havent lost any weight, my hair and nails are really growing fast. It is true that you do feel energised. It is also true that the cravings for sugar and FAT SALTY junk foods are curbed.
Just in the last 2 weeks I noticed that I was eating less and that I cant tolerate some of the fried fatty doughnuts or chips! Now that's an accomplishment!
I'm still going to take ACV regularly because I'm addicted to the taste :)

I came to this site for relief of gallbladder attacks and possibly gallbladder flush. I saw my doctor and he told me i had about 100 small stones. Apple cider vinegar helps to soften stones and aids in expulsion. Maybe your liver is being cleansed. You may need to see a doctor. you don't want to expell stones that are too big for the biliary duct. If my stones are small and still cause so much pain then larger stones must be excruciating.
Now I see that ACV is also good for weight loss. This explains my suppressed appetite.
Thank you so much Earth Clinic!

This reply is for Ashley of Toronto re 'side effect' of using Apple Cider Vinegar. You are very likely experiencing the beginnings of gallbladder attacks because of gallstones. Often after people lose weight they may get attacks. The ACV might also instigate these attacks because it is trying to get rid of the stones. My advice is whatever you do, don't have surgery. An ultra-sound is ok to see if you have stones. I would bet money you have stones. Email me and I will share how you can get rid of the stones on your own without surgery. I have gotten rid of stones using my remedy. Once you pass the stones, the weight you wish to lose might go as well.

I can completely see her losing that many inches overnight. Especially if she was bloated and caarrying water. I use ACV all the time for bloating, gas, and it workes like a charm, almost instantly. I always take it right before a date to get rid of gas that I have or may get.

Raw organic apple cider vinegar has helped me so much, I feel like a vinegar evangelist!! I tell everyone about it. I heard about it in 2003 after having been in the hospital for chronic broncitis three times that year and had develped asthma, was on a nebulizer and inhalers. I have always had allergies.
After I started the raw vinegar mixed with raw honey - I have been drinking 1/4 cup mixed with a glass of water at night.- I have lost 55 pounds, which I learned was due to the vinegar daily - have not had bronchitis or asthma and have quit taking acid reflex meds, lung meds, singular for asthma, don't need the nebulizer or inhalers. I also quit taking nexium and just learned it is also good for leg cramps. I am a much healther person. I take mine at night, but think I will try taking smaller doses three times a day. Even my lung doctor agreed ACV was good for your lungs. He said his Mother raised them on it for sore throats and colds. Too bad the drug companies don't agree. Thanks for your site

Patience is a virtue. I wouldn't dismiss the beneficial things that ACV can bring with just a short period of time. Each individual will have different results. I mean I started taking ACV along with Conconut oil during March of this year in hopes of loosing weight. I made it a vow not to weigh myself all this time, because you only set yourself up for disappointment. Next thing you know, I am getting compliments of how much weight I've lost. So, do give it some time and you will see a difference. It might not today, but it will come.

I have been taking two tablespoons of avc 3 to 2 times a day with four ounces of apple juice or grape juice, for about four weeks now (I usually drink 6 to 8 ounces of water after). I orginally took it for acid reflux and it began working immediately. I read more info on this site and continued to take the same dosage and just last Monday, I have lost over two inches in belly fat, fat from back and upper arms. I usually eat raw and steamed veggies with low carbs, but never had results such as this. My hair is growing faster and my nails are growing like never before. Thanks for this site.

You need to use an organic, raw brand of ACV, or it will not work as well. I use 2 Teaspoons, in about 8oz of water two times a day (some use it three times a day). I've been doing it for 2 months now and feel so great! Have also lost most of the baby weight and will soon be at the size I was pre-kids! Awesome, awesome stuff!

I have been using ACV for weight loss for a week now and this is what I've noticed;
POSITIVES:
1. My hair seems to have suddenly grown an inch and is glossy.
2. My skin is really looking good and that's everywhere even my legs. I've had 1 person comment that I look younger but she didnt know what it was.
3. Sinus seems to have calmed down the head aches, but I still suffer with the sneezing and sore eyes.
4. Energy levels are definitely higher AND that includes libido..?
NEGATIVES:
1. No weight loss or curbed appetite.
2. Always farting and not the 'fun' type either.
3. Sudden salivating in the mouth for no reason.
I will carry on using ACV because of the other benefits and it's only been a week so will continue until the bottle is empty. At the moment, I have to give ACV for Weightloss a 'MAYBE'.

I prefer a moderate approach where a both baking soda and ACV is added to the remedy so that the pH is between 7- 7.5. This beats me worrying whether the ACV is going to make my urine pH any more acid because of possible acidity in the ACV. Certainly the pH strips and pH meters of measuring urinary acidity or alkalinity will decide it, but people with low levels of bicarbonates in their system may not have sufficient metabolism to metabolise the ACV to be alkaline in a few cases. The usual remedy to get a fairly neutral or biologically friendly pH is 2 tablespoons of ACV plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water at least. This can be taken 2 or 3 times a day. The pH is between 7 - 7.5, which is fairly close to the pH of the blood. The ORP (oxidation reduction potential) has a -150 millivolts, indicates its healing potential in a solution, while most of the foods and drinks we take actually is a free radical and steals electrons from healthy cells where it's ORP for a typical processed food to be between +200 to +300 mV, which is oxidative kind of food and tend to accelerate aging process, and hence greater kidney damage because of its oxidative nature. Exposures to hydrocarbons and aspartame, Sweet n' Low, and other artificial sugars tend to accelerate metabolic acidosis and kill the kidneys by causing the kidney to be bathe in high acid environment much like our stomach digesting our own kidneys, as an illustration.
Sour foods in general is the major problem, but more bitter foods are generally more alkaline. To help protect the kidney monitoring pH is one of them, but other diets that are too high in beans can result in high calcium oxalates too, so moderation is best and by that I don't mean eating beans everyday. Certain Indian diets I have noticed are quite high in beans where they might consume this almost everyday. Without sufficient alkalinity the oxalates creep into the body as oxalic acid and form calcium oxalates, which clogs up the kidney. The other issue is high blood pressure, and high blood sugar which tends to kill the kidney too. A blood sugar can be held stable if water was drank before during and after a meal so that there's no blood sugar spikes occuring between meals. In fact kidney is often congested after eating if certain people do not drink sufficient amount of water causing a cloudy urine, which is one possible effects of dehydration from insufficient liquids during the meal. In certain foods that I have found to interfere with kidneys is alcohol, potato chips, and many salted products, of which these salted products used common table salt, which raises the blood pressure. A sea salt is substituted and kelp is taken as an iodine supplements instead. Since potassium is above average in an Indian diets from more vegetables the biggest problems appear to be the high oxalate diets found in beans, spinach for example which tends to intefere with kidney health.

I was having severe knee pain. One of my friends asked me to take apple cider vinegar. I started that while I was in Singapore. Until now I finished 3 bottles. Doses : two teaspoonful with one glass of cold water. My knee pain has not been cured, but I reduced extra fat of my body & lose weight. But some of my relatives cautioned me that ACV will increase acidity, as well as may be harmful for kidney. It may be mentioned that I have given away my one kidney to my husband & am now living with one kidney. Bangladesh's nephrologist couldn't answer my query whether ACV would be harmful for kidney. And can I take this dose for life long? Would appreciate your respond & suggestion in this regard. Regards.
EC: Apple cider vinegar is said to alkalinize your pH, not make it more acidic, but the only way to know for sure is to check your urine with a pH strips, bought at your local health food store or pharmacy. (Even garden supply and pool supply stores will have pH kits.) We'll pass your questions on to Ted for response!

Before ACV, I suffered from being over weight and acne prone skin. I discovered ACV from a good read and decided to give it a try due to its many benefits. I drink a tspn before each meal (except breakfast). The results are wonderful! My energy level went up, and I also lost weight. It wasn't an overnight success, but it worked! Just recently my husband suggested I put some on a cotton ball and use it for a couple of flare ups I had. And that was last week. Today, I can stand here and honestly say, my pores shrunk and my face is glowing. Needless to say, I've used it as a toner. I've never felt so confident.

I found this site just over a couple of weeks ago while searching for a natural remedy for high blood pressure. I am extremely overweight but was having trouble exercising because of the effects of the medicines my doctor put me on. I did not want to go back to that doctor, nor do I want to stay on these medicines any longer. I can tell that these medicines are poisoning my system.
I had found several remedies that would cost more than my prescriptions, and was about to order one of them when something told me to keep looking.
That was when I found this site. I read through all of the comments and decided that it wouldn't hurt to try the apple cider vinegar. If it didn't work, I could always try one of those expensive remedies.
I have been taking the apple cider vinegar for just about two weeks now and I have noticed an incredible change in my energy levels. Before I started taking the apple cider vinegar, I was always feeling sluggish and had no energy. I was constantly falling asleep at church and at home in front of my computer. Now the sluggish feeling is gone, I have more energy, and I do not have the problem of falling asleep all the time. I am also exercising now.
Yesterday, I forgot to take my afternoon dose of medicine. I wasn't feeling right (I feel 'off' when I don't take my blood pressure medicine) so I took my blood pressure. The average reading was 145/96. Normally when I forget my medicine, the average reading is 165/101. Today, with my medicine, the average was 123/77 (this is after drinking a couple of glasses of cola!) - normally it is 130/85 or 140/90 if I have had any kind of caffeine.
Not only is my blood pressure beginning to come down, but I have also lost 10 pounds in two weeks! Hopefully, I will be able to come off of the medicines soon so I can finally get healthy again. Thank you so much for this website!

ACV helps to regulate the bowels and also helps to rid the body of gas, especially if taken before a meal. Therefore, it is quite possible she lost that many inches in one night. I myself have witnessed how someone's stomach can look much smaller after taking ACV for a short amount of time. Please don't call her a liar, especially when you haven't tried it for yourself.
