I've always believed that trying to exactly create a 0.1% Methylene Blue(MB) solution from, say, a 2.33% MB solution is such a pain!

But there is a much easier way of doing it. All you have to do is work out the milligrams of MB powder that you need and the problem becomes easy.

And you only really need to know a few simple facts and here they are:

0.1% MB contains 0.05mg per drop.

1% MB contains 0.5mg per drop.

2% MB contains 1.0mg per drop.

So, if you're a bit picky and you want the exact MB amount then it follows from the above that:

2.33% MB contains 1.165 mg per drop

Let's try a quick example, so that everyone understands it better.

Say for example that you want to take 10 drops of 0.1% Methylene Blue per day but you only have 1% MB.

Here's how to work out the drop dosage:

From the above, 1 drop of 0.1% MB contains 0.05 mg MB powder, so a 10 drop dose will contain 10 x 0.05 = 0.5mg MB.

And that also means that 10 drops of 0.1% MB will contain the same milligram amount of MB powder as 1 drop of 1% or half a drop pf 2% MB.

And just to be clear -- I always use the Methylene Blue that is advertised for fish tanks because fish breathe in water. And they breathe in the Methylene Blue as well. It's also well-known that fish are highly sensitive to poisons, heavy metals etc in their water -- much more so than us humans in our air environment. And I should also mention that Ted from Bangkok always recommended that Methylene Blue for the fish tank was quite adequate for human consumption.

Some other facts about MB, which might help:

The effects of MB on the body will always vary from person to person because we are all built differently. Generally, if you are using a low dose and use a certain MB dose with water that makes you a bit hyper or nauseous then you should reduce the MB dose. Similarly, if you are using a low dose and it's doing nothing for your problem then you should increase the MB dose.

Generally and for me anyway, a total daily dose of MB would be in the range 3 mg to 30 mg -- taken in split doses, depending on what was wrong with me.

According to my research, Methylene Blue has a half-life in your body of 6 hrs and is completely eliminated in 24 hrs.

If I had a serious and systemic fungal problem or a viral infection or a blood clot I would probably take more MB -- in the range of 80mg to 100mg or more in split doses. This is still well below the lower limit of 2mg/kg.

During the Vietnam war, the US troops took Methylene Blue powder by the spoonful. So Methylene Blue is tried tested and used both at high and low dosages over the last 130 years. So yes, MB is well known and quite safe to use.

I use Methylene Blue because it helps protect my cognitive abilities, anti-Alzheimer's, antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, enhances the body's energy cycle and helps to regulate the immune system -- prevents inflammation and prevents out-of-control cytokine storms, which makes it doubly useful against COVID viruses.

Last fact for you. Methylene Blue kills a large range of viruses, bacteria and fungi that is probably only matched by Lugol's Iodine and Colloidal Silver -- and no microbial can adjust to those remedies. And, of course, pre-WW2 medicine used all three of those medicines to good effect.

I buy mine from Amazon, brand CZTL which is USP pharmaceutical grade. Comes in 1mg vials. For 1% MB solution dissolve 1g powder in 100mls filtered water. I'm not sure how to work out the dose from your source. CZTL provide instructions, a low starting dose is 1-2mg (2-4 drops). I take 20 drops which is approx 3/4 tspn./10mg. An empty capsule holds about 1/3 tspn. I see where people take 0.5mg per kg. In your 50kg case that's 25mg. I think that's too much personally, just going by how I can feel the mind alertness and physical energy with just 10mg, I'm 75kg.

Anyway start off low a few drops and take it from there. Never take more that 1mg per kg body weight. Also an easier way than capsules (MB melts them) is to just get Vitamin C powder, ascorbic acid. You won't get blue mouth. Just 1/2 tspn in water with MB drops. They have synergy, creating a clear liquid called leukoMethylene Blue with increased antioxidant power. Also if you spill any which you will haha, put Vit C powder straight on the stain it immediately disappears.

People are taking ridiculously low MB and are expecting results. Dr. Berg: 0.5 to 5mg per kg of weight (that means at least 50 mg for someone of 100 kg (divided during the day). And that means, if you have 1% MB - you take about 50 drops of that per day.

Recommended safe doses based on clinical studies with animals and humans ranges from 0.5 – 4 mg/kg. So a 90 kg (200 lb.) body weight translates to 45 – 360mg of Methylene Blue. Compas Laboratory sells 50ml 0.5% solution, 1drop=0.25mg. So a 45kg person should start with 0.5*45kg=22.5mg=90 drops. 90kg person 180 drops.

If the concentration of the solution is different: from 0.1% to 2%, adjust accordingly. The manufacturer usually says how many mg in 1 drop of each solution they sell.

Have been using methylene blue for 2 months now with great results. I am using a teaspoon of baking soda about an hour after meals in an effort to get off of Prilosec. In doing this I have noticed that my urine is no longer blue. Anybody else noticed this after using baking soda with methylene blue?

All the formulas for breaking down Methylene Blue 2.3% caused nightmares of high school math & science, resulting in an Excedrin PM headache lol. I took the info everyone provided and it averaged to be 1 part 2.3% MB : 22 - 23 parts distilled water.

Still afraid to try it, I called a friend of a friend who's a chemist - he said 1 part MB to 23 parts water. (The K--don is 2.3% water solution, zinc free.) I hope this helps!

The correct dosage of 0.1% Methylene Blue is in the range of 6 to 15 drops(in a solution of vitamin C) once or twice a day dependent on your size. You can take this dose twice a day, but you should never take it after about 3 pm because of its energizing effects.

You should always take MB with at least 1000 mgs of vitamin C in water in order to avoid its side effects -- Taken just on its own, MB turns your urine green and the whites of your eyes blue because it stains carbohydrates blue. Other than that there are no side effects. I've taken MB with Vit C for 8 years and what you will also find is that it will give you an energy boost and wake you up due to its positive methylation effects on the body.

You should never take MB in the evening otherwise you might have difficulty getting to sleep because it is so energizing. Other than that, I've found MB easy to use and very useful against pathogens.

The dosage that is advised here is relatively small and very safe. In the 1960s they used to give the US troops in Vietnam MB by the spoonful to help recover them from malaria.
