Herpes:

Using Apple cider vinegar before my sore bursts keeps them from bursting and itching. If they've already burst, add two cups to a warm bath! Provides hours of relief.

I have "undiagnosed" gential herpes. I am 23 and I contracted it when I was only 17. I've never had a cold sore or anything else like that in my life so imagine my horror when painful blisters started to appear on my sensitive clit and on the lips right above it. I haven't gone to the doctor to get it checked out maybe because I'm stupid, still in denial.. (Although writing this really helps) or just plain ashamed and afraid of getting a diagnosis and having a doctor look at me in my face and tell me I have gential herpes.

Anyways, I guess you can consider me lucky? Out of the 6 years I have lived with this virus I have only had outbreaks 3 times and it happens only once a year around the time I contracted the virus and in the same spot (either 1 or 2 blisters on my clit and/or a tiny cluster right above that on my vagina lip)

i am suffering from an outbreak right now as I write this and as I type this up on my iPhone I have a cotton swab with apple cider vinegar on it. This is my first time using ACV and I must say I do like it. Yes, it does burn a little but as a girl who wants to see and feel improvements immediately I think the stinging is a good sign like 'yeah take that herpes! ' At first I was using cold refined virgin coconut oil because coconut oil heals everything and I read somewhere that it kills the virus but to be honest I didn't think it was doing the job but maybe I'm impatient. The coconut oil stopped the excruciating itching (washed my hands, stuck my finger into the oil, applied topically to the affected area at night and went to bed) but like I said I didn't really like the results, I would wake up expecting the blisters to be gone, they are running their course, slowly, and that's not what I want. Mind you this is... Maybe day 4 or 5, after this outbreak clears up I'm definitely going to look into preventive measure like the pine cone extract, taking coconut oil orally, and/or taking ACV orally.

I really appreciate this website considering I am doing this alone and haven't told a soul my secret. I'm sure one day I will have to admit it to someone like my husband or a doctor or something but until then it is my secret and my shame alone but this site has really helped me and maybe it's not that bad. Maybe I can do this and do things so I won't have an outbreak and not feel ashamed of a mistake I did when I was young.

If anyone else is suffering I highly recommend all natural apple cider vinegar. Put it on a cotton swab and while you relax or before bed just let it sit there. Yes it will burn and yes you will want to tale it off. Maybe let it sit until you can't anymore, remove the swab, catch your breath, and douse another swab and do it again. I hope this post and this whole website helps anyone who feels like they are lost and alone like it helped me because you're not lost or alone and there are preventive measure so you can live a normal life and have a healthy, active sex life (please use protection of course) without feeling like you're going to pass on the virus.

I think you should tell your spouse. I have had the horrible GH for 2years and since finding out the horrible news I have had multiple boyfriends and partners. Which I tearfully have told them all and crazy thing they are very accepting an comforting about it. I do have to admit I try to eat very healthy and try to maintain a healthy life style with occasional smoking (weed) and drinking but its about the mindset I have had one noticeable outbreak since having my initial outbreak and I took the valtrex continuously for a while too just too keep me from having an outbreak.

Anyhow, the apple cider works but sparingly. I think its best when mixed with something such as peroxide or water. Oh and the best thing if you ever have an outbreak is too put honey on the sores. It helps with the pain and itching. I read somewhere that honey is an antifungal or something like that but it helped me and even if I feel a slight tingle down there I first clean the area with water, dap with a towel or paper towel your choice. Wipe with the area with alcohol and let air dry for a minute then apply ACV then literally a dab of honey and the tingle goes away. But hey everyones body is different.

But to all people my advice is to drink a lot of water, eat raw veggies and if you don't like raw fruits and veggies make a smoothie an add as little of sweetener as possible but I promise you'll notice the difference in a week.

I need help with a question please. Every time I start taking apple cider vinegar I get an outbreak of herpes. I take coconut oil daily and it always keeps me from having outbreaks but when I add the apple cider vinegar it brings one on. Why is this? I alkalize and check my pH daily. Can anyone tell me what I need to change here or do or why please. Thanks much.

I'm so grateful to have found this website!!!! Truly has given me new light and hope for my ailments!!! So THANK YOU TED! You have a heaven-sent spirit for doing this!!!!!

Great News!!! APPLE CIDER VINEGAR and APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TABLETS works. I've successfully prevented break-outs.

I've been a GH (genital herpes) sufferer since 1984 and am now 54-, goin' on 34', for sure... lol, and am very happy on coming to terms with the cards I have been dealt. So if you or ANYONE thinks it's the end, I promise you it is NOT. Of course, it was devastating to me when I found out, especially since I was vacationing in New Zealand at the time and had just read an article in the local newspaper that Genital Herpes had not been reported in their country at that time and so, yay! ... what great news that was...haha...

I contracted it from a guy there a week later, who knew what he was doing. So, don't believe what you read in the news ever, about anything, from what I have learned they can be terribly inaccurate!!! . So, yes, it's been a major nuisance in my life, but have went on to have had beautiful loving, healthy and sexual relationships. I feel it is my altruistic responsibility to inform them about my annoying situation before we are intimate so that they have the option to make an informed decision. They usually say, is that it? They know that there are MANY and MUCH worse 'issues' and problems in life that could or could have happened. If they really care about you and they are worth having a relationship with...it won't make a difference.

After finding this site a few years ago, I immediately bought the organic ACV and lots of Coconut Oil for my medicine cabinet and kitchen and make-up drawer. The best thing I found was the APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TABLETS! You don't have to taste the vinegar, just take one tablet right when you first feel the slightest tingle. I have successfully staved off several outbreaks by catching it in time and am thinking I should just take one every day. They're not expensive and you find them at any health food store or vitamin shop.

So, I'm pretty sure GH prevails in epidemic proportions. At least HALF of my girlfriends have or have had it! That I happen to know of! I've just been super compelled to share this vital remedy for our condition and am feeling pretty good about it because I know it can help all of you who will find this. I wish I would would have found this out 20 years ago!!! The doc's had always just prescribed the Zovirax or similar, which helped too, but about equal to ACV.

Life is good and, especially when you find a 'community' like this one to share REAL story's from REAL people.

One more REALLY important Health tip that I discovered, especially for women, Is taking 1,200 mg of Vitamin D EVERY SINGLE DAY with the magnesium to digest ( they are sold together in one pill) for your bones and hair! I was diagnosed with 15% Osteoporosis in my spine that was completely a silent disease I was unaware of! Just had a routine bone scan for my 50,000 mile check up and found out. So my good Dr. told me my options of choosing Fosamax, that can have the side effects of ruining other organs over time or take the 1,200mg calcium every day, no more and no less! No question there...I started taking them and within weeks my hair started really growing! Beautiful baby hair coming in everywhere! So I told my GF, same age, and same thing happened to her! my hair is consistantly 4" longer than it used to be. I figure bones must be better shape too, but will find out on my next bone scan.

Enjoy life everyone-it's the only one we KNOW we have for sure! ... and don't sweat the small stuff!!!!! xoxo

Thanks for correction.

I'm taking 1,200 mg of Calcium everyday along with 1000 mg fish oil capsule (Omega 3-6-9) is when I noticed a major difference in hair growth. The Calcium I buy has Magnesium, zinc and Vitamin D3 added to metabolize the calcium.

Just recently heard from my Holistic Doctor that it should be Bone Meal Calcium for best absorption. She says to add Strontium to my daily routine, as well, an important mineral to process the calcium.

Update- The ACV tablets worked to suppress the vaginal area OB, but didn't work to suppress an OB on my rear. So I'm going to try Acetone and see what happens because these lesions have lasted up to a month or more without treatment.

I loved reading your story, love your zest for life. I have had Genital Herpes for about 7 years but was only diagnosed a year ago I was devastated once it was confirmed thought my life was over, I had come out of a long term relationship, met someone a year later, but he was diabetic I had told him about my problem, I just thought risk was too great for him. In the 7 years I never had treatment and now it's confirmed I don't want to take them either, I tried the Hydro Peroxide 35% grade as it was said to cure - didn't work just suppressed it, so I need to focus on what to do when I feel the tingling. So using ACV and coconut oil will be a must. I take great motivation about life from you as I thought life was over.

Yep, I'd agree that ACV is the best to stop OB's. Personally I think applying topical solutions is a waste of time. The virus needs to be assaulted from the inside. 3 teaspoons of ACV with honey in 1/4 cup boiling water. Mix. Add another 1/4 cup cold water and drink. While you're at it.. down it with a Lysine tablet. Should take 2 days for the OB to recede... as opposed to 2 weeks untreated which I normally get. Valtrex no longer has any effect on it. That stopped working after the 5th year.

Don't rub it. Don't eat nuts. Don't have sex.

It's taken me 15 years to find ACV. God, I wish I knew sooner.

At first I saw it as a cure for Warts... so I put it on a wart for a week and the wart completely died.

Got me thinking, warts (HPV) are a very similar virus to Herpes.. what if we could get ACV in to the herpes Virus. And here we are.

Forget the pharmaceuticals... they can cure it now by playing with ribosomes.. but there's no money in curing anything. You need the virus to stay alive to make money out of it. They will never release a cure. It's not that they can't.They just won't.

ACV (with the pulp) is the go until we find some combination of natural items that's better.

Hey Dan, firstly, I don't believe ACV is a outright cure for herpes...So don't get your hopes too high. Its more like a deterrent and (in my opinion and personal observation) definitely assists the body fighting the virus when it goes active.

To fight any virus there's a couple of things you should do. Exactly the same principle as getting a flu.

1.Stay Warm...really warm. There's a reason why the body will shiver and get fever. The body has identified the virus has gone active and it's trying to overheat the little bastard. A little fever is good. Let the bodies evolutionary instincts have this one.

2. Vitamin C - 500mg every 6 hrs

3. ACV & Honey - Every 6 hrs (a mate of mine puts ACV in 1 litre of water, keeps it on his desk and drinks it throughout the day.)

4. 500gm Lysine - Every 8 hrs - Seems to toughen the skin.

Put this together and see how you go.

My recent attack, I performed the above over a period of 4 days. I could feel the virus trying hard... but it never breached the outside skin. Although, let's be clear, I knew at that moment I was still infectious. Might not have breached the outside but it still stung a little at the start of day 2 when I pissed.

There's some hope there.

Good luck... and please share if you find something else that works. All of us need to help each other with all diseases as the pharmaceutical industry wont. A natural cure is out there and it'll be up to those who have the disease to find it.

Further to my ACV trial above:

I have since learned that the Apple Cider Vinegar was increasing my pH Balance.

It seems the ACV that is not actually providing the direct relief here. It's my pH level.

I went and bought a personal pH tester and I piss on it whenever potty break is required to check.

If my pH is low I take some ANTACID (Alka-Seltzer, Eno, Ural, Etc) to boost it. Currently, I'm using Eno cause it's cheaper.

I have seen an immediate improvement in controlling the external lesions to the point where the now don't actually break the skin.

I continue to take Lysine (which seems to toughen the skin) and Vit C daily.. and double it if I feel an outbreak.

I am certain when I am under attack even though there are no lesions because I feel the hyper-sensitivity in the back of my legs and the usual prodrome feelings.

I've read on other forums some people who claim it has stopped outbreaks altogether. I would love to get to this stage. I think its definitely the right track.

Can anyone else confirm success with controlling pH levels and Outbreaks, please?

Dear Nycole,

You might try diluting the vinegar with water. 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water.

You could also try Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, topically. This is generally very soothing to the skin.

I hope you can get this resolved soon and be ready to enjoy that new baby! Congratulations!

Re: Apple Cider Vinegar for Genital Herpes Burning. Despite what some sites say, this was researched by NIH that it works. Make sure you mix with water and only do it for 3 days to help kill the virus. Since you are expecting I would try lemon balm creams. It's not harsh and proven medically to work.

Into day 5 of using ACV with Mother topically on a genital herpes blister and have not had a single itch. I apply it with a cotton wool ball each time after using the toilet and hold it on there for 15-20 seconds or until it starts to sting. By day 2 the blister had turned white; by day 4 it turned into a hard, black scab. It's still there, but is definitely going away faster than if I'd just left it alone and - bonus - no itching!

Hi ...I researched the web for any help for a viral infection and found this site ....Thank GOD, for help with my GH.

I have been having outbreaks for 17 years and have tried everything that the pharmacy and the doctors offered to no avail. Apple Cider Vinegar is the first thing that has ever done any real good. I had a breakout that was piggybacked on a prior one and was experiencing a new breakout coming ...about 2 months of this going on... and I read all the reports here and decided to try the Apple Cider Vinegar.

I am keeping the ACV in a small cup with a lid in my bathroom and everytime I use the toilet I take a cotton swab and dip it into the ACV and then directly onto the sores that are located from my bottom to my front. I would guess about 10 sores and I apply the ACV about 10 times a day.

It burns for a moment but I am pleased to say that all the sores are clearing up. 3 days! I am pain free for the first time in months! Apple Cider Vinegar Works .... Thank you for this forum.

As a matter of fact I think it sort of made things a little worse, so use carefully.

I have had lesions for three days now painfully becoming worse, funny part is if this is the herpes virus it has remained dormant in my system for a long time. I have gotten checked and am waiting for results, I was prescribed anti bacterial medication along with cream but knowing herpes is a virus I am positive if it isn't bacterial infection they won't work. I just used ACV on all my lesions and am in a little bit of pain from the stinging. Will definitely update tomorrow on progress and test results. Wish me luck and thank you for this remedy!

Hi my name is Anne and I was dignosed with GH last April. I hadn't been sexualy active in quite a few years, so I was kinda alarmed. I didn't realize nor did I know that GH can lay dormat in your body for years. I had went to a accupunturist and we had discussed seveal different things to eat and not to eat. She told me NO artificial sweetners.. She got me drinking the ACV and several other things. I had been on this diet for quite awhile and hadn't had any problems until last friday. I kept thinking what did I do differently? The only thing I could think of was I was at a friend's house and I drank a sugerfree drink. Within about 5 hours I had a small blister. On a whim I looked up the health benefits of ACV and found this website. I am soooo glad that I did. It is awesome.. It confirmed the artificial sweetners.. Who knew? No more for me.. I will also not only drink the ACV, but use it if I were to get a sore. Thank God for this website.

ACV for Herpes (genital)

I'm a believer! I have suffered from herpes for over 15 years now and I think I am one of the lucky ones. My outbreaks are few and far between but when they come on, the come on strong. I was on Valtrex for a while but my outbreaks are so infrequent I did not see the point. Also, Valtrex did not stop outbreaks and when I had to double up during an outbreak, I felt ill to my stomach and did not see the length of outbreak get any shorter. So, I quit. I have tried several things since then (Zorivex, tea tree oil). I have had 2 outbreaks in the past 18 months. I came here yesterday (this is the second outbreak) to look for some options. The tea tree seemed to help but I wanted something to shorten the duration. Started applying ACV last night via cotton swab, slept with a cotton swab on infected area last night. OH MY GOSH! I can tell it is almost gone. Soreness is almost completely gone from lesion and the swollen lymph node is noticeably less sore. I will continue to use for another few days but, at this rate, I am looking at a recovery time of 2 maybe 3 days as opposed to 7 maybe 10 days. I also plan to try Ted's solution. I do believe there is a cure for this and I am tired of being at the mercy of this virus. Thank you to Earth Clinic and all who contribute. I have had genital herpes for quite some time but have had few problems pop up over the years. But when they do, it's devastating. I've tried all kinds of pharmaceutical ointments and they work eventually after a period of days have gone by. The other day I had a "breakout of one". And if you have this problem ONE is all you need to screw up the next week to 10 days. I had been reading about apple cider vinegar and decided to put it on me but a bandaid was out of the question for me and the area concerned. So I did this. Before bed I soaked the first 4 inches of an ace bandage wrap in apple cider vinegar...both sides until it was saturated. I then wrapped this around my unit on the problem area, continuously wrapping until the wrap was finished. It was only about 12 inches long. I then put a piece of tape over the wrap to hold it in place and let the ACV do its work and went to bed. Holy crap! The next day the swelling was completely gone and the blister was done. With the exception of me knowing where the blister was you can't even tell I've had anything. Just because I'm overly cautious I'm gonna do it again tonight.

Women, I would suggest soaking a cotton ball down and using a bandaid that can peel off easily...maybe children's bandaids? Regardless, do it and let it work overnight while you sleep. ACV won't bother your skin at all. Hope this helps at least one person.

This is wrong: suggesting that women or anyone else for that matter, "use a cotton ball with ACV and tape it in place of the sore over night". depending on the type of skin, some skin types can handle the acid, other type of more sensitive skin may get damaged from acid burn. -- A lady stated in this forum that just by applying ACV a couple of times per day, her skin turned raw and she could hardly sit. Imagine if she had taped the acid to her skin over night.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar. I am a former wrestler who contracted herpes from wrestling mats. Doctors gave me the wrong diagnoses so I ended up having it on the side of my face for about three weeks. I finally researched the symptoms for myself and once I figured out it was herpes I started searching for natural cures. I heard alot on apple cider vinegar so I gave it a try. From my experience it is not a fix it right away cure, but it does definitely speed things up. Alot of it depends on how soon you start using it. If I notice something forming in the morning, but don't recognize it as herpes or don't have the means to start treating it till the end of the day or the next morning then it usually takes about 4-5 days to clear it up. If I notice it first thing in the morning, recognize it and start treating it immediately, then it will be cleared up usually within two days.
