Merry Christmas to all of EC, I consider you part of my life, as do many people who come to EC everyday, may the Lord keep smiling on you, may your love of God and our Lord Jesus Christ grow in the knowledge of His Word and the Power of His Love daily. Bless you, Linda in Central FL

I have been a serious Internet junkie since the mid 90s and have never found a site that has addicted me more than this one. I have spent no less than 3 hours a day reading it for the last week and I feel like I'm just getting started. Thank you all for your personal stories, remedies, and cures. Johnfromseattle

I used to be able to go to a link you had with Earth Planet (I think this was the name) that talked about gardening etc. Where is it??? Thank you for taking the time to answer questions.

EC: It is currently under reconstruction. It will re-emerge soon with a brand new look! Thanks for inquiring and for your patience.

Hi 2 every 1 x I'm shortly due to have a full hip replacement, due 2 arthritis, I also have the dreaded fibromyalgia, and, deteriorating disc disease. And also neuropathic nerve all over my body. From head to foot. Like every 1 else I have been put on all sorts of drugs which I'm terrified, may have caused it. At this present time I have begun veg juicing and a raw food diet as I'm unable to cook clean or wash myself, like so many other people suffering chronic pain. And I personally belive that a loving caring partner or friend who will give time to find out how any chronic painfull illness is a major part of the healing cycle. Some 1 who takes time to study up on your ailments, and spending time with you and helping and encouraging u in your efforts to get well. I was a supreme athlete but now can't walk properly, and in chronic pain all the time, but I'm not posting this out of self pity. I too am alone in trying to heal myself, I live alone, but have a partner who will not read anything about any of my ailments, so he has no understanding or is he willing to educate himself and is always making negative remarks, such as, I'm lazy, or how come you walked to the bathroom 2 minutes ago, and now your asking me to get you a glass of water? Even my consultant at the hospital hung round waiting to speak to him when I broke down after being asked why hasn't he come to visit me and that pain hurts like hell too. A week ago I had a food order which my brother who has just had an op himself, took in for me. I couldn't carry it myself and my brother tried to carry from his flat next door to mine, and ended up collapsing in mine. I then rang my partner for help and he told me that he was going out to get drunk with his brother and that was more important than me being left with no food or water!! Yes I know, u must all think like the docs and other people have said why am I still with him or, get rid, he's stressing me out and I'm mad to be with him. But, now and again he does help and boy oh boy! , do I pay for it. I get an ear bashing when he does anything for me, and yes I've been on the verge of suicide creek many times, but, as hard as it is I will keep on trying.

I guess what I'm trying to say is no matter how hard and painful it is, I am loved by a higher force in whom I have faith in, but most of all dispite all his negativity, now I'm broken, I'm determined to fix myself. This website is full of wonderful people whom their selves are fighting all sorts of terrible things, are so willing to try and help others and sharing thier love and remedies with us all. Don't give up please! Not when so many people are willing to impart thier help to us all despite suffering so badly themselves. And remember don't expect a remedy to work right away give it at least a few months[3 at least not a day or 2 and say it never worked. I've been trying all sorts for the last 2 years and there's been times when I felt like giving up, but since I found earth clinic, I feel, somebody, somewhere, cares enough to try and help may the light of healing fall on you all, and thank you earth clinic for being here with some great input from everyone involved. May the angels brush you with their wings and sweep away your sufferings. Will let you all know if any natural remedies I try work, and if not, I'll be back to look up the next 1!!! Dear Andrea, first of all let me tell you that you have a beautiful name and I can attest to that.... I gave it to my first born daughter! And by the way... My husband is Welsh! Yes, it is very important to have someone who cares. Like you I also was alone for many years so I know how it feels. I had a quite tragic, very difficult life and felt like quitting quite a few times but look.... If I had done that I would have never met my wonderful Welsh husband and I would have never known what real happiness feels like (I am 53)! So.... Not quitting many times is a very good thing! And... My daughter Andrea is getting married coming June, something I would have never witnessed if I had left before my time!

You talk about how important it is to have a partner who cares about your suffering, who gets information and helps you. Of course you are absolutely right but we can also help them understand that! My husband is a very caring person but was not really the type of person who would do that. There were times when I was upset because I was trying to do something, for example with my eyes and he didn't seem to care about my little victories. He was even very dismissive. He thought that the books I read were nonsense (as a scientist he only cared about "real" science! ). But little by little he learned that all that was important for me and for our life together. Now, a few years down the line, he has changed. He read a book about my eye therapy and thoroughly enjoyed it and recently read two books about nutrition and cholesterol. He is now a lot more sensitive to the natural side of things and is starting to learn that the world is quite different from what he thought it was!

So..... If you care enough about your partner, try to work with him to make him understand what is important for you and maybe he will also change (my husband is 56). As far as us here caring you can be sure that there are a lot of caring people around, if not all! If people wouldn't care they probably wouldn't be here trying to help not only themselves but also others over and over again. I am relatively new to this site but I am sure that you will find people here who have been around for many years! So...... I hope that you will get better soon and will also be able to help others with a heart full of happiness! My thoughts will be with you!

Hello Andrea from Cardiff UK, Please keep up the raw food diet and the juicing. You really will see an improvement in your health and well being, if not now, then soon. If you need someone to talk to about your relationship with your partner, have you considered a phone help line. Sometimes they can really help you keep your head above water when you have a negative person in your life. I really hope you get better, and I wish you only the best. Love and good health too you. Hi Andrea,
I'm so glad you did find Earth Clinic. It really does have a lot of really caring people here. I have learned so much and used many of the remedies offered by people from all over the world! And yes, you are loved by a higher force always. Sometimes this world is not an easy place to be especially when physical pain can be overwhelming. Remember though, there are lots of people to reach out to. I guarantee there are people close by ready to assist you. And meditation and prayer are powerful as well. I too had a lot of physical pain that I dealt w/ for several years and through a raw food diet and green juicing turned my health around.

Today, I still deal w/ a lot of hip pain but keep trying to find the answers. I too was a top "athlete" through my life as a ballet dancer so I know how difficult it can be sometimes remembering how I used to move. Still, I have learned many lessons through this path. One of them being compassion- I didn't have a lot of it when I was a dancer! I just felt like people that had physical issues probably weren't doing their best! Yikes! Now, I really feel for people. I work to help people find answers through natural means, diet, meditation, alternative medicine etc.

Anyway, just know that people are here on this site to help and encourage one another. I see two people have already written you. Francisca is always here to encourage people and ask questions and as an avid reader, she often has some interesting feedback. As Lily says, keep up w/ the raw food diet and juicing- it will restore your health, I guarantee it. I have seen miracles throughout the raw food community. You can find support there as well. Just google raw food and you will find all sorts of sites. You are in my thoughts, Lisa

Hi Andrea, pain can be debilitating, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well. I admire you for combating your ailments with raw food and juicing. I am positive that you will see a difference soon. I started taking green juices this summer and the changes it's made has been wonderful.

Have you heard of kefir? There is great information in EC about this amazing drink. Please do consider adding that to your diet routine. It can be very lonely when the people who are close to you have zero interest in the changes you are making in your life. I am glad that you realize that you have a higher power who loves you. Remember you are never alone. Are there any people in your area who have similar interests? May be you need to reach out and form your own support group. You also have to turn inwards for strength and meditation and affirmations are wonderful tools for that.

I don't know if you have heard of Hay House radio? They have programs around the clock with hosts such as Caroline Myss, Christiane Northrup, Wayne W. Dyer, and of course Louise Hay herself. It's called radio for the soul and believe me, it's that and more. You can hear the radio on the web. I wish you all the best. You are on the right track, Andrea.

Hi I would love to say thanks to everyone that took the time to reply to my post X.

If I could weave a golden thread to blanket every one, I'd ask who ever created us to make our suffering done. The best belief you ever knew, is just inside your soul, and when life gets so very bad, we pray he/she makes us whole. And when the higher power, we thinks not there at all, please just remember this, my friends, sometimes pain blinds us all. If there is really such a god that really loves us all, why did he make life great one sec, and left us all to fall? We all forget small miracles coz' we're looking for the one, that makes us feel that life is great and all suffering is done. But what we all should be aware is our healing in our hands, and whenever we scream out at him/her why God ? Why is should it be me, just look back at your lifestyle where your healing truth may be. But if we really can't not find a place were ere' we can find rest, just remember people you don't know have been all through life's test. And even little children and pets who've done no wrong at all, will be in all our prayers each, day for god to mend us all. And don't forget my dear folks that are so very ill, the answer to your illnesses may be caused by a pill. I don't mean you should stop them altogether at one time, just reduce yourself down slowly, and hope you will be fine. For all the natural healing may be right by your door, and also on earth clinic that's what we're all here for.

LOVE, HEALING LIGHT AND HUGS AND KISSES TO EVERYONE, And remember, we're not the first to suffer, whatever our ailment, coz there's a lot of good people out there not just trying to heal themselves, but anyone who may be suffering worse than ourselves, but still have compassion and empathy for anyone else who is suffering. Good night and "May the angels of healing and wisdom, show you the light that shines along your times of darkness. YOU ARE LOVED X X X X X X

I am just hoping that the massive ego's can eventually accept that there is a balance between the two philosophy's of getting people better. Scare tactics and poor information, "snake oil remedies" does not make all the claims out there to be no good. I am pessimistic that doctors are now understanding the power of nature, and it should be there #1 ambition to be getting there patience's better at all, or very little costs. It will be nice to all work for the right reasons and make people well. Awesome website been on it for years and use it as a holistic guide, great information. Thanks

Your feedback was indeed posted on Wednesday to the Latest Pets page. Pet-related posts do not appear on the Latest Posts page. We'll have to make those 3 icons at the top of the Latest Posts page more obvious!

1st let me start by saying I Looooooove your site! It is informative and entertaining and I have spent hours perusing all the amazing info! What a great concept Idea?!?!? Thank you so much for creating a space people can share healthy info and and their results! Most kewl! :-) Thank you Thank you!

Just wanted to let you know that there seems a misdirected link.. I assume it is that way on all pages.. The google search box located at the top of the screen.. whether you check web or earth clinic it all searches google web. :-( Not sure but I think its a google issue... but you may be able to fix it, i just thought you should know.

EC: Hi Andrea,

Thanks for letting us know. We have tested the search on multiple browsers and don't have the same issue. It brings up Earth Clinic pages each time.

Can you let us know what browser and version you are using? If it's an older browser, this may be the issue. Earth Clinic works best in current browsers like Internet Explorer 8. You might also try clearing your history and cache and seeing if this corrects the issue.

At first I also thought that I had been directed to the wrong page but then I understood that I have to open the earth clinic pages myself. I get a Google page where first there are a few links in a window called Adds by Google but under that I get Web and there you see the links to the Earth Clinic pages. So it is not as if you are directed to the Earth Clinic pages right away, you get the links and have to open them one by one. I hope this helps because in the beginning I was confused as well!

EC: Thank you for clarifying, Francisca! My programmer couldn't find anything wrong with the google searches.

Joyce, the kidney weed is properly called... kidney weed! It's Latin name is Dichondra repens. It's leaves look like kidneys and here is a link with a photo:

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~andyd17/Plant-ID_KidneyWeed.htm

EC: Thanks, Zander! Your response has been posted beneath Joyce's bio here: https://www.earthclinic.com/about.html

To all: Zander is replying to this part in Joyce's bio:

One more... I can remember another illness when my paternal grandmother came to the rescue.  My older sister told me that when I was about 3 and shortly after my next younger brother was born, my mother came down with kidney problems (probably her first severe bout with pyelonephritis which eventially killed her when I was 29 years old). She said Mama was so sick and her circulation would kick out and she would start turning blue. She and Dad would get on opposite sides of her and walk her to try to get her circulation going again. My grandmother went out and returned with something she called kidney weed and brewed up the tea for my mother. Although I asked my mother many times if she could show me the weed she used and as many times as we walked through the woods together, she was never able to identify the plant and never knew it called anything but "kidney weed". My mother said it was vinelike, but stayed close to the ground, had leaves about the size and shape of a mouse ear on opposite sides of the stem, and liked to grown close to springs. Maybe some reader of EC can tell me the common or proper name of this elusive kidney weed."

Deborah, do you know what I do with all the information I get from this site and also from books I have been reading? I have a file in my computer where I divide the information by subject, that way I can always go back and review it easily. Of course I can look it up in my books as well but as I have quite a few it is a lot more difficult as it is if I would try to find it on this site every time. From the site I only have to copy and paste. I do the same with books I am interested in. I read the comments on Amazon.com (although I live in Europe... Americans post a lot more comments), then I copy and paste the titles and give them a different color according to whether I think that the book might be interesting or not. That way I don't have to look up books over and over again just because I forget that I have already read the comments about that specific book. There are thousands of titles of books on health subjects so this way I don't waste my time.

I have been a daily reader here for about 5 years maybe more and I have become very CONFUSED here lately.

Probotics, cause aids? Is this if your already have HIV?

Alkiline body is really sick and causes health problems?

I wish, now more than ever that I had just stuck with traditional medical doctors.

The medical doctore tend to agree some what with each other! I know most of the people here are NOT doctors, But this is just crazy.

No matter where I go and what I read NO ONE can agree... I might just be done on here.

I am sorry to sound so angry... I know somethings here FOR SURE do work. My family and I have tried and had sucess with.

Candida!!! How many stories can we get about this??? Who will agree? Nobody!

I am very disappointed right now, it maybe time just for me and the family to go back to traditional medicines and regular medical doctor visits. (Since the verdict is still out )

I really wish, that natural remedies could be our future medicines, but with this much confusion, i really don't know.

I was as positive and supportive as anyone posting on here, but now I am like a deflated balloon. Sorry!

Hi Anon,

I'm sorry that you feel so disappointed and disillusioned. I truly hope that you will always read with discernment what people write here. I have been on here for quite awhile as well and there are times when I have felt the same but for different reasons. Still, I work to keep an open mind which I don't think the mainstream medical community often does. I love the things Joyce from Joelton has to always say. She was from that medical world and her advice is always sound. I say, always question and do your research beyond this forum and the advice given by anyone on here- even those who sound "all-knowing". Then, follow your intuition- it is a very sound guide if you listen. Some things work for some, other things work for others! We are all so different and sometimes the placebo effect is even sufficient! There is still so much about life that is a mystery, including our bodies because we are spiritual beings having a physical experience so there are factors involved beyond the simply-explained.

For myself, I was a sickly child that was taken to the dr. and hospitals more than most. It wasn't until I left home that I made a conscious decision to take my health into my own hands as I was disillusioned with drs. That being said, I don't discount them if in fact, through natural means, I can't seem to be shaking something off i.e., a bladder infection. Still, I will take other means first to be in charge of my health and my kids. I have 5 of them and have truly never used drs.(I have always used homeopathy, folk remedies, Chinese medicine, herbs, Aryuvedic remedies, healthy food, etc. to name a few other paths.) Three of my kids are adults now and in their adult life have chosen to use drs. My oldest daughter though, through a serious sinus infection and drs. advice and many bouts of antibiotics (against my advice) with no real results became disillusioned and finally, in utter defeat came to me in tears asking me what she should do. Prior to that, I was the crazy mom who lives with the belief of eating right and that food is our medicine, understood correctly. Taking care of our health is easier than trying to bring it back! She has truly changed in one year. She has modified her diet staying away from all dairy and sugar and she's like a different person. She has never had any other sinus issues since so as a result, stays with this protocol.

Anyway, I hope you can stay open and understand that everyone here is trying to find their way. We are all trying to find our way as we coexist on this planet...

Peace to you,
Lisa

For me, the best part of this site are the testimonials, someone tries this or that & experiences certain results. I take into account how long they were applying the remedy to consider the placebo effect. As for people espousing their absolute theories, I would hold little weight to. We're all in the same boat as to the mystery of the body.

In response to...02/22/2010: Anon from Anon, Anon writes: "I have been a daily reader here for about 5 years maybe more and I have become very CONFUSED here lately.

If you can't read between the lines or use your own common sense then you might be better off putting your medical care back in the hands of a doctor. Your words--"The medical doctore tend to agree some what with each other!"---They agree with what makes them MONEY! And what they were taught in school. It has only been in the last 100 years that we have gotten away from natural home remedies. In 3 generations have we become that brainwashed already? Humans have existed over 2000 years on earth thanks to home remedies and a medicine man (kinda like earth clinic) to tell us what we need. I doubt we last another 200 years using mainstream modern day doctor advice and Rx drugs. That is scary to hear all the side effects especially "women who are pregnant should not handle" & "if you are nursing or pregnant or could become pregnant" etc. If we think we have seen mutations and new birth defects, it disgusts me to think of what the next 100 years is going to bring. BPA which by the way causes cancer--FDA approved that one, the list is endless.

Candida for example; I researched some 10 websites when I first heard of it. The only thing/people ignoring this exists are doctors. Why might one ask? It has 20 ailments related to it. All of which drive people over and over to the doctor. This income they have come accustomed to. Of course now most mainstream doctors won't get a clue because they like the income. If they give you one pill or one remedy to cure this, they all will be out big time.

There are chicken littles everywhere. You have to be smart enough to know what is fact and what isn't. It is the information age, do research on other websites. Pay attention to your sources. With so many news sources today you have to take things with a grain of salt and filter out most of what you read. If someone told you to jump off a bridge I am positive you would have enough common sense not to do it. Same principle applies here.

Over 5 years daily reader and you have found things proven to work for you and your family. Keep going with those that make sense. If you don't understand it, forget it and move on. That is just the brainwash talking---2000 years, how did we ever survive so long without these huge drug companies and millions of doctors--who by the way 99% of which were not around 200 years ago. "We" are creating our own problem and it is scary to think of what the next 200 years is going to look like.

Reflate your bubble and get back on the wagon. Surely you weren't wrong to spend the last 5 years using ole time remedies and keeping your family healthy. Don't let a little turbulance and confusion burst your bubble...with this or anything else in life.

I do apologize for my frustration. I do want to say though, that my anger is not pointed to anyone in specific. My point is, if it works. It works. Maybe it works for some and not others.

Reading between the lines, Ok just today on the net. "The dangers of daily dose of aspirin" Then on Dr. Oz TV show, he encourages people to take a low dose of aspirin everyday.

See my point, and yes I know what the real medical doctors are all about ( MONEY ). It is a corrupted system and I LOVE the ideal of people being able to heal them self without drugs or surgery.

Maybe Cured can help me here.

Soy. Ted says soy is ok. The other natural Drs. say no to SOY.

I even read an article on the net about the area of the USA with the oldest population ( people on average living longer ) and one thing they did was not to consume any SPICES in their diets. On EC, here we use spices to heal.

We only know what we read, since the natural field is lacking the necessary studies and funding that the DRUG PUSHING Drs. are getting.

Anyway, I hope everyone accepts my apology, But I also hope everyone can see my point and why it gets confusing. There are to many subjects to list here. But there are a Ton of conflicking stories people have about natural remedies.

I will be glad to list some of the things that have me confused. My list is long, so be prepared. I know we are all learning, but I want proof of what actually has been done in Mexico and other countries. I think these reports could give us some actual facts on the results. On here we are all at the mercy of the poster.I love THIS SITE and am so thankful that I found it and have been able to use it all these years.

ABSOLUTELY, there are things on here that WORK. At least it worked for me.

Let's say, someone wanted to practice natural medicines as a holistic DR. What school would you attend? Who would you believe had the best cures? I say this because everyone practices in different ways.

Cured, I would like to know what it is that you do daily for you health and cures. Let us know your protocol, so we can learn from you. I want knowledge, but where the verdict is out we need sources posted and debate and bat around the pros and cons.

Anon, Again, I'm going to say, use discernment. Listen to what is being said and then ask yourself what you think of that advice. Clear your mind and the answer will come to you easily really. You seem to get yourself confused. Remember, everyone has different experiences therefore, different opinions.

You pose a few examples of contradiction and very quickly, I could answer them for myself. No to aspirin- that would be simple! I don't care if Oz is a dr. or not, I don't want aspirin on a daily basis in my body toxifying my organs. On the other hand, if one feels that they really need it for some pain, by all means... As for soy, I don't think it's a good idea after all the research I've done and articles I've read. It was a push on the public done by that industry- another one of those schemes such as the meat industry, the dairy industry, etc. Each has their self-interests so YOU must have your own self-interest. On the other hand, once in awhile I eat tofu but just not soy products in general.

Also do outside research from this site. I'm always learning- love to learn and find so much fascinating!I'm a pretty confident person so I don't second guess myself. I go through information and then I come to a conclusion. Perhaps a little further down the line, new information comes in. Then, I may re-acess and adjust.

In past posts I've mentioned amazing people in the healing field who have so much incredible information to offer.

A fascinating man, Dr. Brian Clement who is not only a dr. but a healer, a scientist and has the Hippocrates Health Institute and has literally helped thousands of people heal themselves through diet and education over 40 years is someone you can listen to speak on youtube. You will learn so much from him! Also, Dr. Gabriel Cousens who you can listen to speak on youtube as well. He has been at the forefront of healing people as well through diet and education at his healing center called The Tree of Life. Ann Wigmore can be heard on youtube, David Wolfe and so many that are all at your fingertips if you have the internet.

I take my health in my own hands and blame no one for it. I take responsibilty for it both emotionally and physically. I continue to learn daily and adjust and experiment. I think the doctors are doing their own experiments on people but just act as if they know what they're doing! Often they're in the dark too- they just don't let others know (except perhaps in confidence with some colleagues who are equally as baffled!)Currently, I have had amazing results with juicing on a daily basis of lots of green veggies and lots of raw food. For awhile I was doing this exclusively but then when it got cold and wet here, we started to slowly add in cooked foods, mostly homemade soups and my body seems to be doing fine on it. I have continued to eliminate all pasta, dairy and bread from my diet. Through this I have eliminated all the excruciating pain that I have lived with for 4 years now. I feel so grateful to that. Having said that, I don't consider this the end of the road. I will continue to tweek things here and there to live optimally. I hope this helps you in some way.

Peace, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

I've been on this website for about 8 months and I always find your postings to be informative and without a personal agenda. Interestingly, I am going to a lecture by Brian Clement tomorrow night. I, too, find him fascinating.
Thank you for always taking the time to post when you feel it is appropriate. I enjoy your "take" on things.

Hi Lee, How fantastic for you! I would love to see Dr. Brian Clement in person. He is so full of information that is so helpful to health and his take on things is so interesting. Like his respect for Chinese medicine and Aryuvedic medicine but what he feels fall short in light of what we have learned or more importantly what he has learned as a dr. and scientist. It is especially of interest to me because I have followed both of those paths at various times. What he says makes sense to me too. He is very thorough in his presentations and with a lot of humor and self-deprecation of his own early past. Where will you get to see him? In NYC?

Thank you for kind words. I can only hope that what I have learned and been through in personal experience can help lighten the path for someone out there.

Peace, Lisa

To Anon from Anon and Dj from Pdx; I sincerely appologize if it came across as disparaging remarks to Anon. If it came across that way it was clearly not my intent.

The conflicting information; I only meant not to try things until one either understands them or do more research elsewhere. Some of these remedies could be harmful (ex. food grade H2O2) if one doesn't fully understand what it can do and the harm of using full strength, things could be disastrous. Knowlege is power, the more we have the better we are to make decisions for ourselves. It doesn't help when people have money and spread bad things about something that does more good than harm. But with their money and twisting can make it look so bad. Coconut oil is an example of that. Pre WWII (I think...i'm no history buff) CO was used quite a bit in America in baked goods in grocery stores and such. A little bad media and it disappeared as a staple.

Ok, in my quick reply I mistook "deflated balloon" (Anon's words) and said a "bubble". I appologize. To me I guess it meant the same thing. The entire last paragraph was meant to build Anon back up from this confusion/end of the rope feeling--reflate your balloon--give confidence to her that through these confusions she will figure out/find her path again.

I see your point completely with the confusion of conflicting information. It was this that prompted me to suggest research and watch the information sources. I personally don't read newspapers/watch the news. If they advertise for drug companies they are unlikely to publish anything other than supportive information about them/using their products (something like that). Take each piece with a grain of salt until you truely feel you believe in it. If you don't believe in it/understand it discard it or file it away for later. I also take this a step further and consider cost and ask was this around say 200 years ago or is it commericially/chemically engineered. If it is not natural I try not to take/use it or use in moderation, course we all love junk food, least I know I love every bit of it. But even with that it is only a few times a month I indulge. I have VCO and ACV which I think covers just about any detox a body might need (i could be wrong...but these two surely won't hurt). I am in no way an expert (in anything). I have only been an almost daily reader of EC for 6 months. Those 6 months have changed my life forever! Thank you EC and everyone who contributes. This is the coolest thing and so much better than learning this stuff from book, I get to read peoples experiences, good and bad and we help each other (free of charge at that). It is like its own community/village (almost like family) where we are all helping each other to better our quality of life, in essence becoming our own dr.s and taking charge/control of our own health.

Again, I appologize if my words sounded harsh/didn't come across as I intended. That was definitly not my intent. Peace to everyone!

May God Bless!

Hi Peter...My own background isn't medical for sure. Although I went to University in UK and studied biology and chemistry for a while, I dropped out to get a job because I was quite an impatient lad in those days. But I've always had an interest in the human body and healing.

Later, I worked in hardware during my early days and finally graduated to becoming a software analyst, eventually going independent as a consultant and contractor. I don't regard myself as medically trained at all wrt alternative therapies, but I am very logical due to my profession. I am now retired in the Philippines, I'm 60 y o and have two grown up sons.

Regarding beliefs, I quite dislike all of the spoiler research and false statistics that have been put out there by research from the big pharmaceuticals and the FDA against herbs used by alternative therapy. I wrote an article about it a while ago, giving all the arguments, with evidence, why I think The Germ Theory approach -- which is what the whole pharmaceutical industry and medical profession is based on -- was so incorrect. This is a very scathing article written by me because, at the time, I was so fed up and frustrated with all the lies and misdirection:

http://slowsmile.hypocrisy.com/2008/09/16/part-2-big-pharma-the-success-of-the-germ-theory/

Although I've had quite a fascination for natural herbal therapy for many years, my interest in using simple body-friendly chemicals is very new, and this interest never really sparked and took off until I had used Ted's remarkably simple alkalizing remedies to successfully cure my candida, and since that time I've made it a point to use, study and learn about the use of natural sea salt, hydrogen peroxide, Magnesium, methylene blue, vitamin C, Sodium thosulfate and a host of other remedies that are mainly based on Ted's advice. If I'm going to help people properly on this site, it just makes sense that I should use and test these cures too, so I know what I'm talking about(...so I don't have to rely so completely on the often dubious research from the pharmaceutical industry). If I read about a cure, I don't usually believe it unless I've used it or have researched, corroborated and made up my own mind about it.

Trouble is, I'm healthy now, nothing wrong with me...LOL. So my own research and testing isn't easy !!
I have also helped people here in the Philippines with arthritis, gout, diabetes and kidney problems using my own herbal remedies derived from my own homegrown herbs as well as from using many of the remedies from this site.

This site is a wonderful gem...!!

Best regards,

Bill

Hi Dj...I'm sorry that I got your name wrong in that last post, I've been rushing around this morning, haven't quite tuned in to my multitasking capabilities yet !! With appologies...

Perhaps with moving and retiring to the Philippines, this has also had an effect on my regard for standard allopathic medicine. Here in the Philippines, the average Filipino earns about 150 pesos per day or $3.24 per day and that's if they have any job at all. Consequently the Filipino govt behaves slightly differently to the US govt and the FDA. The Filipino govt fully recognizes that the majority of its population is very poor, and therefore they actually have a government department or agency that researches the efficacy and safety of locally used herbs and they even recommend them !!

In general and within there own communities the Filipinos will have also their own healer -- called an Albularyo -- there to help recommend, prepare and sell the cheap herbal remedies to the poor people since no one here can afford the hospitals(all privately owned) or the medical insurance. It's been like this here for centuries. The Filipinos are a also highly superstitious people, and also have their own form of witchcraft and witchdoctor -- or Mangkukulam -- who provide charms, curses etc. for the right money...but that's another story completely.

how to use highlighter

I did not know where to post this message since it is only technical in nature. I have been unable to figure out how to use the highlight feature you have for the search field. Some of the posts/pages are very long, and I want to be able to scroll quickly to find what I am looking for. I use Firefox and wonder if that is the problem (?)

EC: Hi Lisa. You're posting in the right spot! We add questions like yours to a page called "comments and requests".

Checkmark the highlight search terms box, then put your search term in quotes (works better that way). See what Google pulls up in the new window and then click on any link/page of the search results. If you now scroll down the page you've just opened, you would see your key words highlighted on the page.

So for example, I just tested "boric acid" in the search box on Firefox with "highlight search terms" checkmarked. Then I picked the borax page from the search results and used my mouse to scroll down the page to find boric acid highlighted in purple. Do make sure to put your key words inside "", otherwise each word will be highlighted in a different color. Unfortunately using this feature sometimes kicks in the highlighting feature on every page, in which case you should shut your browser and restart it (or trying clearing the cache and history first).

Let us know if you have any more questions!

Deirdre
