To who ever suffers from gout listen to this. My mechanic is 38 years old. He unlike his father had never suffered from an attack of gout. He had an attack of gout in his right foot. Severe pain followed. He tried ice. It helped the pain but he had to keep the ice applied to the foot. He had gone to the doctor twice, putting him on two types of medication for the gout. Nothing worked. His father had been on medication for it. When paul asked the doctor for the same meds his father was taking the doctor said he didn't want him to use it. No reason was given why. The doctor gave him a prescription for a third medication. It had no effect.

After 3 and a half months of limping around his shop, an older man came to deliver some auto parts. When he saw Paul was limping around he asked what was wrong. Paul told him gout. He told the gentleman that he had been to the doctor, been given meds and nothing was working. The man told him to get baking soda, warm water and take it 3 times a day. Paul just blew it off and when the pain persisted he tried it with little faith.

He took 3 teaspoons a day with warm water. His gout was gone in two days. He was incredulous.

Hello Fellow Earth Clinic Followers -

Well, this was our second time since finding the baking soda cure that gout has reared its ugly head in our house.

I wrote in on it last time, but since it happened again, and we had just as AMAZINGLY AWESOME results - I wanted to write in again to revalidate the effect it had on my husband.

On Monday my husband started out with a pain in his foot. He was gimping about, but went to work - not telling me. He came home early, knowing it was the dreaded gout.

I started him on the 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda in 8 oz. of water immediately. One dose that afternoon, and one more before bed.

Gave him another dose the next morning, and then noon.... by evening his symptoms were receding.

Amazing! Normally this would be over a week long battle... And we now have it down to well under three days. It never did turn into the complete HELL it usually does either.

I believe that the trick is to catch it IMMEDIATELY. We could have caught it a few hours earlier than we did, but still, it was before a complete explosion of redness, heat and swelling. We know the warning signs now.

When in doubt, down a glass of water with 1/2 tsp of baking soda in it - do NOT wait for it to get ugly!

Best,

Carly

1 for BS. Got my first run-in with gout 2 days ago (left big toe joint). I have had a couple of bouts with tendonitis in the upper arm and shoulder (rotator) in the past so after taking two 8-year-old naproxin pills over approx 8 hours, I settled in for about a week of slow recovery. However just before hobbling into the sack I borrowed some old baking soda from a friend's fridge and downed about 3/4 tsp in a glass of water. Slept good, and as I sit here writing this the following morning, I have just finished cleaning out the storerroom in my apartment. Swelling/redness 90% gone and 100% no pain.

My husband gets gout about 1-2x a year for the past decade. He started getting it again last week in his big toe, and going up to his ankle. We know the signs (sigh) and he was limping.

I got the crutches out, and started reading up on it on the internet yet again.

I read something interesting about baking soda on a site called icuredmygout(. )org - so I figured it couldn't hurt and it might help.

So, I gave him 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 10 oz of water - and then gave hime another drink of the same directly before he went to sleep.

I should note that earlier that evening I made him a v-8 drink with a full teaspoon of turmeric, and pinch of black pepper in it.

I woke up the next morning, and he was out of bed, walking around like NORMAL! (Not limping or using the dreaded crutches). I asked him how his foot felt, and he said he didn't know what magic was in those drinks I gave him, but something sure worked. Lol. This was the fastest gout episode ever. The regular routine would have included at least another week to ten days of even more extreame pain. Mind you, he said he was still a bit sore, but it was 80% better over night! I kept giving him the BS in water 3x a day for two more days, and then he stopped. All done.

It is not recommended to take BS that much, that often long term, as it can mess up your electrolytes. (From what I have read anyway).

Gout is a horrible monster, and the next time (and there is always a next time once you have had it) he will be hitting the BS first thing.

Good luck if you are reading this because you have it, as it really sucks!

Carly :)

I once caught gout after eating sea food and it hurt like hell in my right big toe. I could barely walk it hurt so bad. I did an internet research and found that gout was caused by the build up of an excessive amount of uric acid in the joints. Men and Women-How do you get rid of too much acid on your car battery? You neutralize the acid by adding an ALKALIZING substance: Baking soda and water. For gout suffers, start drinking alkaline water and a 1/2 tsp. of baking soda to the water and you'll start flushing out the uric acid from your joints. You can also go to a local health food store and get yourself some celery seed extract. This will also help get rid of the excessive uric acid build up. Your body is 70% water, start drinking alkaline water and watch and feel your health improve.

The easiest and simplest remedy for gout is simply 1/2 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in half a glass of water 2 or 3 times a day outside mealtimes. This will alkalize the blood and quickly dissolve the offending uric acid crystals in his body.

Another remedy which works also is Chanca Piedra -- 1000 mgs twice daily. This herb is an alkalizer and also a gentle diuretic which also spruces up both the liver and kidneys. I gave this remedy to a friend to help with his diabetes problems and it also cured his gout pain completely as well. Best to also take 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt or fulvic acid per day to help replenish and minerals lost through the diuretic effect.

My daughter just called me to confirm that in 12 hours, 1 tsp. of baking soda to a 1/4 cup of water REMOVED (completely) horrible gout pain... So bad they "wanted to cut their foot off" last night. She said she probably put too little of water in the mix, but it worked for them. Shocked, they said there was NO PAIN this morning. Not sure if it took away the pain last night but I think so! I just sent her the link on gout remedies and ACV! That's the one that is really supposed to work. Thank you for this website.

Had gout several times, suffered with it till gone. Was at the V.A. Hospital one day when it hit me and the Dr. Prescribed medication. Several days and no help. Found a web site that said to take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and glass of water daily. Two days and no gout. Really enjoy your site and am taking Apple Cider Vinegar for copd. Been on it for about two weeks and have cut meds down to less than half and breathing is much better with more energy. Thanks and hope this info helps others as it did me. Keep up the good work.

I have had a few severe bouts of what was diagnosed as tennis and golfers elbow. After many weeks, my qulaiity of life destroyed and trying all the remdies of straps and ice and rest and even accupuncture I finally had to have cortisone injestion. This time round I decided to try 'Applied Kinesiology'. The diagnosis is believed to be gout. I was prescibed 1/4 Bi-Carbonate Soda [Baking Soda] in a small amount of cold water three times daily and 1/4 teaspoon liquid zinc twice daily. After 48 hours I definately have relief. I wondered if anyone has had experienced gout in an elbow. By the way the kinesiologist said "definately no AppleCider Vinegar".

After suffering with acute pain in my right big toe for one year i heard about this site and what baking soda can do. I took half teaspoon in a glass of water and the pain disappeared in minutes! Previously i couldnt even stand the weight of the sheet on my toe. I am yet to try acv and b.soda. but will do so' and report back. have also been suffering from a lot of joint pain and that is subsiding also. I am very grateful for the info on this site. I received no help from doctors who only prescribe dangerous drugs! L.Wilson NZ.
