Coconut Water

Drinking coconut water has definitely reduced the number of arrhythmia episodes that I've experienced. I drink 8 ounces twice per day, upon rising and retiring. It contains a natural source of magnesium.
Its worth a try! By the way, I read the tip on this site. Thank you all.

To Sharon/Tn:
Thanks! I have used "Calm" by "Natural Vitality" but it is just Magnesium. Maybe I should try tis one by Biologics? I also think spraying my body with Mg oil has helped me probably because I absorb it better than through all the supplements I have tried! And I was told to look into Dr.Carolyn Dean and she also recommends Mg with taurine in it (Magnesium taurate) so I had read about Taurine somewhere and have been taking that 1000mg a day.Just went off the "flecanide" as I couldn't stand the way I felt on it anymore! And it didn't keep the afib away any longer than it was when I only took 1 tablet(50mg) so I'm not taking 2 anymore and plan to get off the 1 if I get better results with these supplements! I can always take the "flec" if I get the episode to get me back to NSR.I did do that before but docs convinced me that if I took everyday, I wouldn't get it as often! Well, that didn't pan out now did it! So let's hope I can keep it at bay wuth supplemants on my own.I do take low dose betablocker at night for whatever it's worth! Don't know if it helps or not!
Keep posting your results! Thks!

hi Keith
Thanks for your post.
I have had cardiac problems since birth but have been with all types of arrhythmia for the past three years. I am in my thirties and like everyone on here it can be debilitating. I have found this site very helpful and have had molasses which worked like magic.
Although I have respect for my cardiologist I have carried out my own research and have found Coconut water works wonders. I cannot recommend it enough. We are given medications and though they all have their function they are not a cure. Sometimes they do more harm than good and I know this from experience. They also steal nutrients and fluids from our bodies. There is a link between electrolytes and our normal heart function. I started looking into dehydration and went from there.
I hope you are feeling ok now its good to know none of us are alone in this. Keep positive!

Magnesium is definitely important, but I have been on 1000 mg magnesium for years, and the arrhythmia is still there. I think general guidelines are probably in place in terms of what and how much of a supplement one should take; however, our bodies are different and our environments are different as well. I am still struggling with getting AFIB under control. The Cayenne helped some, but not by itself. It seems to help better with lemon juice and Maple syrup. (Master cleanse). Still waiting for the CALM to arrive. Still hoping for natural cure...don't want the toxic meds.

I too have been diagnosed with an arrythmia (afib) and take 0.5 ativan per day.The afib gives me alot of anxiety and I think it helps. Also taking calcium, Magnesium, and other supplements, the latest of which is taurine. This arrythmia is driving me crazy and it is scary too! Had it for 3 years since I turned 60 yrs old. Wonder if it had something to do with loss of hormones! Will let you know if the taurine helps. Got info about Dr.Wolfson in Phoenix, Ariz.on this supplement. Good luck with yours!

Since no one has answered you yet, I'll just share what little I am aware of.
I had to ask specifically for mag. level which is indicated "MAG" on my latest CBC. Under Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), I am not positive but I believe "K" is what tells you how well your blood clots. Maybe this link can help you.

Hi Ya'll, I'm back with some good news about what I have found that helped my heart arrhythmias! I have been almost symptom free now for two weeks. Read on:
I was having lots of PVCs at night, every night. I believe they were brought on by stress, but I've had problems with this type thing for 30 years. However, they were not much of a problem after menopause....until a several weeks ago. Then WHAM! Every night!! For hours!
I read a lot of posts on this site, and took to "heart" your advice. These are things I tried and what worked best for me;;
The Single best thing that seems to work for me is HEART CALM by Vita Biologics, 3 times a day. It is Magnesium combination with Potassium, Taurine and CoQ10. I tried other magnesium supplements, but this combination seems to work best. BY FAR!!
Also, I got HAWTHORN HERBAL TEA by FLora on amazon.com, which contains; Hawthorn leaves and flowers, Hibiscus, Hawthorn berries, passion flower, licorice root, roasted chickory root. The bags are individual wrapped and fairly large to make a large mug of tea. I also added a tea bag of Chamomile with it. I happen to grow Lemon Balm, so I usually put a small handful of lemon balm in also. But I had tried the Chamomile and Lemon Balm together many times, and the HAWTHORN TEA seems to make the difference. HAWTHORN is a good heart builder.
The other thing I take is a couple droppers full of Motherwort extract. Although I had found Motherwort to help a lot over the years, it was not touching this problem by itself! (the last few weeks)
And one more thing I started doing is MAGNESIUM OIL during my bath time. I could not stand to spray it on my body dry- as it would itch and make me miserable. I found if I first washed my upper body and rinsed, then sprayed over my chest and upper arms- rubbing it in, then took my time in the bath, it did not itch at all, and I when I dry off, I leave the chest area wet with the MAGNESIUM OIL- as it should set on body for 20 minutes or so. The magnesium oil had NOT relieved the heart palpitations before I added the HEART CALM, however- I wasn't able to spray much on until I learned the trick about applying it to wet skin.
I believe the main thing that is helping and has almost completely stopped the problem of arrhythmias at night is the HEART CALM magnesium combination!! The very first night, after taking the HEART CALM and the HAWTHORN TEA, I had much fewer heart palpitations. I'm still doing the other things above, and eventually will drop off one of the things above, but will not quit taking this HEART CALM! If I run out of tea (or forget to drink it- HAWTHORN), I will notice if that makes a difference or not.
I am so delighted to give report this good news. I read it all here on this forum.
One thing that did not help by itself for me- was the blackstrap molasses (or any type) I don't think it had enough of what I needed, plus the sugar effect may not be the best thing for night. I tried that for several nights before I read about and ordered HEART CALM- and did not get relief from the molasses.
So, I take one Heart Calm in the morning, one in afternoon, and one an hour or so before bedtime.
A word of caution about the drug CIPRO. (for bacterial infections) It can cause heart rhythm aggravation and even a different type of rhythm problem. I found that I can not take that drug. It also causes headaches and stomach bloating in me.
HOPE THIS HELPS ALOT OF YA'LL!! My heart doctor almost laughed in my face when I suggested that I might need more magnesium or something lacking!!! Wait until I tell him the difference this combination is making! When EVER I decide to go back. Why is it that they give magnesium in hospitals for heart problems, but laugh at taking magnesium supplements when you're not at that point of severity??
I confirmed about the magnesium supplementation in book called The Magnesium Factor just this week. I may post another post on things I found out from that book.
Sorry this was so long.

80% of the olive oils sold on the market are fake. Polyunsaturated factory processed oils cause heart disease. Eat butter (organic), not olive oil. I'ts hard to fake butter. And the saturated fat (55-60%) in butter is actually good for the heart.

When you start on celtic sea salt and magnesium and minerals you have to start slow start with a pinch in water and raise it a little every week till you get to 1/4 teaspoon in 1 pint of water and drink half your body weight in sea salt water! It can take upto a year to remineralize the heart and body, so be patient and start slow. If you do a bunch of salt at first, it will make afib worse because your body is not use to the minerals
Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Kate (Paddington) on 10/14/2015
It could help because it is a source of potassium. Electrolyte deficiency is one cause of ventricular fibrillation - the other is coronary artery disease. So it depends what type of arrythmia and what is causing the arrythmia.
In any case, I developed palpations twice- once when I was on a water fast (which a cardiac technician suggested. was because of electrolyte imbalance). The second time there was no obvious cause so looked up earth clinic and took some apple cider vinegar and it helped quite quickly.
It would be good if people have accurate diagnoses for what they have and then be able to test what works, e.g., ACV. I suspect that I may be prone to electrolyte imbalance but I have no proof or certainty about that:)

Hi Sharon,
I drink Hawthorn tea every day to help me with heart palpitations. I tend to get them mostly when I lie down. Drinking the tea has eliminated most of them and when I do get them they're not as bad as before. (I have a mitral valve problem.) I recently had a bad spell one night which I think was because I had eaten little too much almond butter. Hope this info helps.

Be careful with any salt you take. My SIL swore by the pink Himalayan salt. I bought a bag, and put it in my salt shakers. Just used that for cooking, etc... Immediately, my heart rhythm started messing up. It made the adrenalin surge through my body. I found myself getting on the treadmill two-three times a day, trying to work it off, and then at night, it would still flare up. It took me 3-4 days to figure out "what am I doing different???" It dawned on me about the Himalayan salt, I stopped using that, and immediately, I was back to normal. I gave my bag to my SIL since it actually helps her. There is something in it that she needed, but worked against me. I'm having problems now again- just at night mostly, but it's due to stress or anxiety about us making a move, or lack of something in my diet. But there was a 4-6 week period of relief after quitting the Himalayan salt. I don't salt my food a lot. I have noticed that if I eat anything salty early in the day- like for breakfast, it will induce heart skips. I've lived with a sensitive heart to adrenalin for 30 plus years. Still don't have it all figured out
Right now I'm trying the CALM plus Calcium (it has magnesium in it and couple other things), and a supplement of Mag/Cal/zinc. Also trying the Apple cider vinegar, twice a day in a little apple cider, and 1 TBL, twice a day of black strap molasses. I'm also on a beta blocker- twice a day (Sectral)- been taking that for 25 years- and every time I try to get off of it, the heart starts racing- so it really does help.
Also take very mild doses of Clonzepam when especially needed. Must be careful not to take that too often though- or it becomes ineffective and habit forming. Although, my doctor said it's good to take it for a week or so when going through a bad stressful time.

Thanks Patti. I have just recently started taking the 1/2 mg of clonazepam a couple hours or less before I go to bed, because the Dr. thinks that it's anxiety causing the PVCs. Many nights, I wouldn't take it at all, and about 2:00 am, I would go ahead a reach for at least 1/3 of mg, to try to get to sleep. I've not taken these every day until lately. The Dr. actually wants me to take them twice per day, but like you, I don't want their effect to become addictive an unuseful. Clonzepam is the only anti-anxiety med that has helped me over the last 25 years. Xanax or Ativan did not help. Right now, nothing is seeming to help at night. I guess I should try to take 1/3 mg about mid afternoon, and then another 1/3 mg about an hour before bed. Perhaps the mid afternoon one would already have me in a relaxed state. I thank you for your input and will try to take less dosage, and not "more", I'm also on beta blocker- Sectral, which helps the speed of the heart, and blocks some adrenalin, but not enough to keep it from skipping.
Claire Weeks has some good books out (very old ones) about the heart being "sensitized" from anxiety or stress, and once it gets that way, it takes weeks or sometimes months to get it back to relaxing, not releasing the chemicals in body. I need to re-read those books. I am going through a lot of changes in my life right now. Not the woman "change" though- I'm 59. But several others in my life....that could have brought these on at night- when my body is tired. I've had problems with insomnia for months or longer, but did not usually have PVCs with it....
Thanks again. any other comments highly appreciated!!

To Old Chief- in Cedar Creek, Texas. So glad it my comment on CALM w/ Calcium may have re-confirmed that helped you!! I would like to know if you are taking the 3 heaping tsps. it calls for, or just 1 heaping tsp. I'm still having problems almost every night right now, and don't know whether to increase the CALM dosage to 2 or 3 (like it calls for)..... those PVCs have me really going tonight. Brought on by adrenalin surges from "something!! " or lack of minerals needed in my body- or lack of something needed. The Cal/Mag/Zinc pills don't seem to help much if you take them at night- maybe don't have time to get into the system. But the CALM w/ calcium gets right in. If you take too much, can cause some loose stools. But I'll settle for that anytime- over PVCs!!!! I have not tried the C w/ Lysine. But I'm willing!! I'm taking the ACV twice a day, and usually take a tbls or so of molasses. I'm also on beta blocker- Sectral twice day, and Klonopin a couple hours before bed. My Dr. said to take it during the day too. Perhaps I should start earlier in the day with the Klonopin to get my body more relaxed for the upcoming night.
Friends, keep posting what works for you. I need to know. I've fought this for 30 plus years, but the last few weeks it's gotten much worse- esp. at night. There are a lot of changes going on in my life right now. Although, I don't think I'm upset- there probably is anxiety going on.
One other thing I've noticed is; if I feel "bloated", that seems to bring the PVCs on in spades!! Alka-Seltzer can help, but I've also found GAS-X or something similar may help.
thanks for any input!! I'm getting tired of taking hours to go to sleep because the arrhythmias are keeping me awake. I awake in the morning feeling fine (after they finally subside enough to get to sleep)

Am 70 years old and developed some cardiac arrhythmia's over the last 8 months. Really disturbing since during the rapid heart beat sessions I wasn't sure whether or not "this was it." Have HBP which I am taking prescription meds for - Diovan and Atenolol.
I Googled "natural cures for cardiac arrhythmia's and found this site. We had "Calm" in the house but I never took it. After reading this blog, I decided to give it a try. All I can say is after a month my arrhythmia has all but disappeared. I am doing the ACV and molasses regimen as well. Doing 4 - 6 grams of C with Lysine. Got some "MagTech" caps with triple magnesium. Take 4 of those a day. Also recommend Astaxanthin too.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SAVING MY LIFE.

Sharon in Tennessee... I strongly urge you to look into the side effects from benzodiazepine drugs. The Clonazepam that you're taking for anxiety is a benzo. I have had my own experience with heart arrhythmia and finally figured out that my symptoms were caused by the Ativan (another benzo drug) I was taking for anxiety and insomnia. Your body develops a tolerance to the dose you're on, needing more and more of the drug. It's terribly addictive and can be VERY difficult to get off of. They cause your GABA receptors in your brain (and elsewhere in the body) to become down-regulated. You have to taper off of benzos very slowly and carefully, and even then there can be difficult withdrawals. But anyone on one of these drugs will eventually end up in the "tolerance" state. Long term use is associated with all kinds of awful health effects and a marked increase in Alzheimers. PLEASE look up "benzodiazepine withdrawal" and try to find the Ashton Manual online which is extremely helpful.
I am still suffering withdrawals more than two months after taking my last dose but am hopeful that my arrhythmia and other symptoms will eventually go away. I just couldn't not say something! I hope you don't mind.:) It's just that I know from experience these drugs end up causing more anxiety than you had to begin with, along with other things. There are all kinds of natural ways to approach anxiety. Best wishes...

Try the combination Cal/mag/Zinc - or Cal/Mag/D3. however, I can't take D3 at night. Too energizing. Many times they have two types of Magnesium in the combination. Magnesium Oxide and Magnesium Gluconate is what is in the brand I got. The Brand was Best Naturals. It had a high rating. Get a high rated brand on amazon, or another place. CALM with Calcium also seems to help me. It's a powder you put in hot water. I add a touch of juice so it will taste better. Be sure and take a tsp or 2 of apple cider vinegar (with mother) (brown stuff at bottom) with water, and try 2 TBL of Molasses too. Can't hurt. Filled with minerals.

I thank you for the info. about things that have worked for all of you regarding arrhythmia problems. I've recently started getting them badly at night - guess when my body is depleted and tired. CALM w/Calcium powder (put in hot water) seems to help me a lot. The regular CALM doesn't do it for me (???) Anyway, thanks to your post, I have ordered a high rated type of Cal/Mag/Zinc by best naturals. I did not want to get the D3 included, because I've noticed if I take that too late in day, it can make me hyper (making arrhythmias worse at bedtimes - esp. a high dosage) So I take a 400 mg D3 in the mornings. That seems to work for me. I am 59 years old, and I have dealt with this problem since age 29, originally brought on by stress and hereditary. But these recent night time bad arrhythmias have been keeping me from going to sleep...until I get up and take the CALM plus Calcium. I also take 1/5 mg of Clonzepam- prescribed by the Dr. for anti-anxiety. These usually work if I'm under a stressful event, but don't seem to work as well late at night. To sum it up, I think it's a depletion of minerals at night, as well as tiredness. One more thing that might help a few is Motherwort tincture. It can ease palpitations. Oh, I am also going with the ACV (apple cider vinegar- with mother) and will try the 2 TBL of Molasses a day. Can't hurt. Don't forget to add water to the ACV!! THANKS! I hope people are not put off by the suggestion that cider apple vinegar is not worth taking. The huge point is none of us really know exactly how the body uses different foods. If people with heart conditions say it helps them then who are we to say otherwise.. even if we are scientists, we are not so very enlightened that we know it all, otherwise we would have a cure. We are all looking for an answer and I think we can only help each other with sites like this. BRILLIANT to not feel so alone. I know that cider vinegar with mama can't harm and it always makes me feel better when I include it as part of my diet. Through studying what many people have found, cider vinegar appears to help the body soak up some of the poisons in our systems that may well contribute to triggering an arrhythmia. Best we all keep our own fact sheets and post results for other to decide weather to try or not. Namaste everyone.

Hello Selena (Rocky Gap) --- I read your post with pleasure because you made such excellent choices. For many years I have kept a booklet by Cyril Scott as well as a booklet on ACV by Paul Bragg. Off and on I read these booklets again, marvelling at the simple and excellent remedies they are.
For example, as arthritis is a mineral deficiency disease, it is ideal to take BSM and it indeed relieved me of pain and arthritis for many years. I still take BSM and as long as I do, no more joint pain. I think it was suggested in the booklet on BSM to include ACV as well especially for cysts and cancer. It had great success since BSM dries tumours so an invasive treatment is not needed in the end. But there were more benefits, for the brain etc.
Just to mention that it was delightful also to see you include Dr. Sircus' transdermal magnesium treatment.
Well, I treasure these two booklets and wish you all the best.

I was diagnosed with; irregular heartbeat, SVT, (250 beats per min.and I would black out), and mitro valve prolapse. I refused the meds prescribed and read Dr. Mark Sircus' book; "Magnesium; the ultimate Heart Medicine", I then started using the magnesium oil transdermally and got immediate relief with the irregular/palpatations etc. I have not had an attack of the SVT since 2006. Because there was still the occasional times when my heart was out of sync; I continued to read for something more. I read "Crude Blackstrap Molasses" by Cyril Scott, starting taking two Tbs. daily and for me that was the magic. The minerals in molasses did the job. I take it daily and would not be without it. Both books are filled with much needed knowledge. I highly recommend both. You will see and feel the difference.

Sorry for the late reply. I take 530mg cayenne/garlic 3 times per day with food. I've also added potassium. I've done more research as I've had a couple recent occurrences. I've found that, as others have, alcohol seems to be a contributing factor. I thought back about the correlation as others indicated and it seemed to be the same for me. I'm abstaining from alcohol and see if that helps. I have a feeling I'll be giving up that cold beer. I've found in reading that my symptoms are; a beer or two, the evening before and the next day I have a arrhythmia onset that lasts a couple days. Most of the indications are that alcohol depletes essential elements and dehydrates the body. At age 64 I guess some things are bound to catch up with you. I'll post more when I've had time to test my alcohol theory.

I already had apple cider vinegar in the house, and also I have a spray magnesium which you either rub into your skin or spray in the mouth. You didn't mention how much cayenne to use, so I tried a small amount, and it nearly blew my head off! I will use just a pinch next time. I will be thrilled if I have the same results as you with the heart stuff.

Congratulations! Now you have to figure out what has actually worked. I bet it is magnesium. While other 3 are beneficial for general health, I doubt they provided such a fast relief. Cayenne increases circulation and is a vasodilator. Molasses is great source of minerals, but watch your serum ferritin levels, 40-60 is optimal. Apple cider vinegar is almost a panacea, it changes your blood reaction toward a healthy one, but it takes time.

I'd like to add to the information and my condition and recent remedies and success.
I'm 64 and have suffered occasionally from arrhythmia since my 30's. During these years the arrhythmia only lasted at most 2-3 days. I'd only have an attack maybe 2-3 times a year and they were never really bad.
About 6 weeks ago I had the worst episode I've ever had. This one really scared me. I had the racing, skipped beats, weak beats, shortness of breath and low energy. As before, I expected it to end in a couple days. Well it's been 6 weeks and it's pretty much been going on since it started. It's been mostly mild to bad; and everything in between. I've had days without symptoms, but they were few and far between.
My flare-ups generally start when lying down. This last week, I almost dreaded going to bed, knowing that I would most likely have a bad episode. Being able to get a good night's sleep has been difficult.
I've been putting off going to the Dr. because, as many have indicated there's not much help to be gained and like most have said, I'd end up on drugs with unacceptable side effects or even worse surgical procedures or pace maker. I'm just not ready for that.
So I began my quest on the WWW and found this website along with others. However, this site is by far the most informative. After reading I decided to try some of the remedies others have had success with.
My only regret now is that it took me so long to search for and find relief.
I stopped at the grocery store yesterday after work and bought ACV, molasses, magnesium and cayenne. I'd had arrhythmia all day and was feeling miserable. I got home, took two tablespoons of molasses, two teaspoons of ACV, 200mg magnesium and cayenne.
In less than an hour I was feeling better! By bedtime almost all symptoms were gone and I had a normal heart beat and only a skipped beat here and there. I got my first good full night's sleep in a long time. I'm going to have to work with the cayenne though, the dose was too much, at least for me, and I had some diarrhea.
This morning I woke up feeling better than I had for several weeks and no symptoms. Before leaving for work, I took two tablespoons of molasses, two teaspoons of ACV and 200mg magnesium. I've gone the whole day and never once had an arrhythmia episode. I even had coffee as normal this morning.
I'm thankful I found this site and hope that others will find help here as well.

I'll agree with the first responder to this post, as it appears the problem is in the circulation and not the heart itself. There are several different cleanses you can do for the arteries & veins. For veins take Rutin, White Oak Bark, Horse Chestnut, Butchers Broom. For arteries Cayenne/Ginger, Hawthorn, Garlic, Gingko Biloba, ACV, Lemon Juice, MSM/Vit-C/L-Lysine.
Another problem source to consider is Parasites, especially Ascaris aka Roundworm. If you have indoor/outdoor pets or are around tame or wild animals as a hobby or trade, you are likely exposed to parasites. Ascaris stages are very damaging to arteries and the heart. Someone only days ago posted here on E.C. of a recent heart surgery or ablation and after recovering from that procedure is back to the heart pains which she has now found are caused by parasites (is doing para cleanses now).

Hello
I am 30 year old runner (15 years o training) and I have had arythmia problem for 5-6 years. I have irregular heart beat after end of the training (not during) sometimes when I stand very quickly or lay down from standing postion - my heart stops and beats very slow but very strong and there are some extra heart beats. During the stress there is the same situation. Lot of circumstances when I have it. I tried lot of magnesium - didn't work. Suplementation with vit C B Q10 CAL MAG D, MAG, ZInk, Kelp, selenium, chrom with wanad - most of them from nutrilite. Nothing has changed. My heart beats slowly but very strong after my entrance on the second floor upstaris it stops then it beats irregular- I don't feel tired by my chest is doing everything incorrect. during that I have something like reflux but with empty bubbles of air - nothing else. I also tried Taurin and Argin from about month - nothing changed. Do you have some solutions for me?? I will be very glad and greatful of every opinion. My e mail is: nogaje(at)o2.pl

Pat, never saw this post until today! Must have jumped over from the other blog.
I'm not sure where I posted my supplement conversion, but those dosages look low. More like 3 gms Taurine, 1200mg Mag, 4000 mg Haw, and a few other things.
Yes, you have to be committed to this or you will be waiting some time to add the Flec, seeing that your blood is thinning with Mag and HR is lower with Hawthorne, it will interfere.
16 hrs is not long in AF. I was in once for 14 days, no clotting and certainly no stroke. Sounds like some other issue going on with her.
My supplement usage is very low now. Mostly doing C 4000mg, little Mag a bedtime. B12, fish oil. Taurine and Haw occasionally.
Mostly, as I've said before, the Vagus nerve treatment, so far so good. Added some nutritional balancing with different cleanses/enemas to some good results of wgt loss etc. Be well!

To Hwkmn 05: I had read in one of your older posts that you had converted to NSR with 1 gr Taurine and 1000 mg Hawthorne before taking 300 flecainide.Does that work, sometimes I may try it before the meds(flec). Was afraid to do that in case of bad reaction with the flec if supplements don't do it. Always looking for another way to convert without the "flec" if possible. But I guess I should be happy that the flec usually always does do the job in 2-3 hrs.I know o friend that is in afib for around 16 hrs but doesn't get it as frequently as I and had a stroke when it went as long as 16 hrs. Was creeping up on a gradual basis before that. Luckily she went right to E.R. and is fine now but on blood thinner forever! They kept telling her that was o.k. to be in but they did say she should take blood thinner pill if in more than 12 hrs.I think. But she only gets it every month/month1/2. The blood thinner hasn't changed any of that! Hope all is well with yours!

Carly, Glad to be aboard. This seems like a good site. No registration either which I like. Post away, no hassle.
I didn't know taurine counteracted MSG. I found out about taurine on a running site. This runner said it cured his arrythmia. I tried it for a couple of months and continued to have my episodes so I stopped. But recently started taking it again. I have the 500 mg also. I've always thought MSG was a problem for me, a trigger. Whenever I eat chinese food, soups and other stuff with MSG I seem to have a problem. I read all labels now. I'm surprised your husband even goes near it, I don't anymore. But I guess if the taurine cancels the effects then why not. It does add flavor.
Bought some CoQ10 today. I'm trying everything, getting desperate to find a cure for this. I take so many supplements now. I do feel better in many areas since I started taking supplements. I think when you exercise aggressively like I do you lose a lot of nutrients through sweat, etc. I always thought I was getting enough through food but I think I was wrong. I now feel better, sleep better, think better, less stressed, since adding supplements. Just wish the darn afib would go away. Like so many other problems I've had in the past I usually find the answer at some point.
Nice chatting

Thanks Bruce!
I am glad you are finding alternative ways of looking at your health issues here. I have been posting and reading (mostly reading) Earth Clinic for years now! Amazing how fast time goes by.
Re E.C.: there are so many people on here that are MUCH more informed on natural cures than I am. We all share what is true for us, and people can either take it, or leave it...the point is sharing our experiences and attempting to maybe help even one other person. Nothing is written in stone for each individual...nor should it be!
Doctor Blaylock is an interesting read. Also, look on youtube for some talks by a Doctor Frank Shallenberger. He has some very interesting lectures as well. Not all will apply to you, but the ones that do, are just awesome.
MSG and glutamates....horrible stuff. Taurine (an amino acid) counteracts MSG. It competes with it in your system. My husband would get heart palpitations after eating a French dip with the au jus at a certain restaurant. I tasted the au jus, and it literally burned my tongue. Not because it was hot...because it felt like so Damned CHEMICAL. So anyway, that was when I looked up what counteracts MSG....turns out is it the amino acid Taurine.
Because my husband continues to eat fast / ie CRAP foods....I make sure his daily vitamins include a 500mg of taurine daily. He has not had another horrid reaction for a couple of years now.
I am rambling...just wanted to say that I am glad you found Earth Clinc, and welcome aboard!

Hi Carly,
Didn't see a reply button on your post so went to the next one down. Not sure on how this site works just yet.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I will try another 200 mg of magnesium as you suggest and monitor. Today I took some others advice and bought some ACV and cayenne pepper, just to try. You never know when that one thing may make a difference. I will also look into your suggestion about serrapeptase (never heard of it). I like your other suggestion about the cervical spine. I've had problems in my neck area in the past, mind pain and stiffness, and had considered that to be a possible problem. Sometimes get numbness in my finger tips too. It may be worth checking out and getting an adjustment in that area.
Again, thanks for the tips. I love these kinds of sites. I've solved more problems on the internet. You never know when you'll come across that one bit on information that makes the difference. Think I'll keep visiting this site. I'm always having one problem or another that I would like to improve. Sometimes I have some things to share also. Not sure if they allow links to other sites here. Some sites I've visited claim that glutamate is a big problem. Found a nice lecture video of a Dr Blaylock on this topic, He calls them excitotoxins and in high doses they can penetrate the blood brain barrier and cause a wide range of problems. Let me see if I can post the link. If the site doesn't like them then they can delete them I suppose.
Scroll down this page a bit to get the Blaylock video, pretty interesting:

Hi Bruce.
Info Fyi...54 Year old, not super fit, not super unfit, non smoking woman here. Average person, average weight. Moderate drinker.
I get low heart rate (48 BPM) and heart palpitations. It's weird, when my BP is high, I have a low heart rate, when my BP is low....the opposite. I notice that my heart rate picks up if I eat something. Maybe it is a blood sugar issue?
Since I began taking 40,000 units of Serrapeptase about ten days ago, my blood pressure has been WAY lower, and NO palpitations! From what I have read about Serrapeptase, it makes the blood thinner, and helps clean out the arteries by consuming fiberin. Something you may want to google....Serrapeptase.
I have also been upping my magnesium, (Threonate and Malate) and taking at LEAST 500mg a day. As a man, I believe you could safely take 200mg more than that, until you have loose stools, which is the most reliable way to know you have reached your limit. Mg is also complimented by vitamin B6. Read up on that too if interested. There are Many co-factors for magnesium.
Another thing...consider chiropractic for the Vegas Nerve. I also started getting my upper back (C7) adjusted two weeks ago after reading that may help some people with AFIB. My upper back has been a source of misery for me for decades....and I was thinking...even if it didn't help the palps, maybe I could get some back relief. It is helping both, I believe.
Just some alternative type of things to consider, and possibly "Google". I know how awful palpitations are, and hope you figure yours out! Good luck!

Excessive Potassium for Arrhythmia:
I have had Arrhythmia issues for years, never knowing what would bring it on. I recently went on a high fat diet that included avocados and nut and seed butters all high in potassium. My arrhythmia came back strong so it would come on whenever I went to bed. I tried all the things mentioned here and they didn't help. Then I found out about Hyperkalemia, top much potassium in the blood. I looked up the potassium content of the foods I was eating and cut out all the high potassium ones. My arrhythmia didn't appear that evening and hasn't since. It's only been about a week but I think that was what was causing mine.

Hi Roman and James, I am also a runner, for over 20 years now, age 56. I have had irregular heart rate for about 10-15 years now. Mine is slow and irregular. It happens about every 2 weeks and lasts for up to 24 hours. Then it goes away for another 2 weeks or so with an occasional irregular beat here and there in between. I feel like I've tried cutting out just about every food I can, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, glutamate, etc. I've also tried many supplements, potassium, magnesium, taurine, all the vitamins and still have it. Even took a month off of running just to see if it mattered. During the days after an episode I can eat anything and do anything without an episode. But for some strange reason I seem to be on a schedule of every 2 weeks. Sometimes I will go back to back some weeks but usually it's every 2 weeks. Sometimes it will only last 12 hours but usually it's closer to 24 hours, never more than that. I been to the doc, did the ekg, echo. They say my heart is fine and recommend the usual blood thiners, etc. I also have little to no dizziness, chest pain or other symptoms. I wish I knew what to do to get rid of it. I'm a little concerned with going overboard on the magnesium but am also tempted to try more. Currently I take about 300 mgs of supplements also eat foods high in magnesium like spinach, nuts, etc. I use to run alot, like 70 miles per week, now more like 40 mpw, have run over 100 races along with 7 marathons. I also sweat a ton when I run except in the winter it isn't too bad. Just wish I could figure this out. I'm worried one day my heart's just going to stop, I mean at a young age, relatively speaking.
As I'm writing this I'm in afib now. Should be stopping soon, it's been about 23 hours. When it happens my hr gets as low as 37 bpm. Normally it'a about 48-60, lower at night, higher during the day. Not sure if the cayenne or other remedies would work for me. Probably will need a pacemaker at some point. Just hope I figure it out before that. If there's an answer that is. Do either of you think I should try to double my magnesium doses, maybe up to 600 mgs a day? A little concerned about too much. Maybe I worry too much. Oh well good luck to all you folks. Hope to hear back from some of you. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I mix a tablespoon of it and a cap full of lemon juice in my water and drink it daily, but if you don't like tart stuff then use a teaspoon of each in a 8 oz glass. I buy the Acv with the mother in it, it is better, I also care for my husband's grandad and he has a time with a sore throat due to he had acid reflux iin the past and it damaged his throat so I fix him a 2 teaspoons of vinegar 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and some honey in a coffee cup with water and heat it as a tea. It soothes his coughing and stops his throat from hurting.

I looked up magnesium on the net and it says to be careful taking magnesium. It is toxic in large doses and it builds up in your system if it is not eliminated by your body quickly enough. I would be careful recommending it without some caution to the user. It could possibly harm someone with kidney disease that does not eliminate waste as quickly as a good set of kidneys.

I had irregular heart beats, one cardiologist said it was PVC. Sometimes, my heart would beat so hard my body would shake was making me so uncomfortable and scared. The cardiologist said I could ignore it or take medication. I don't function that way so I looked deeper for the cause. Read about possible dental issues causing heart issues,
We hired a dentist that does dental cavitation surgery to open up every extraction site in my mouth. A study showed that 80% percent of these sites have toxins, in them . I also had my root canal extracted, due to my fears that they could be causing this issue. This is personal choice because I wanted to be well The cavitation dentist located a huge infection wisdom tooth extraction site he found gauze left behind from years back, and jaw bone infection, this infection did not show up on the MRI or digital x-rays, low level sepsis! I went on heavy duty antibiotics, after the surgery. Pounding heart, PVC , irregular heart beat whatever you want to call it was gone NO more Heart Problems

Roman, I was a jogger of 6-8k 4 times a week when I came down with AF at 56. After 4 years of several cardios/EPs treating symptoms and Meds that never work or lose effectiveness, Im med/allopathic medicine free. Its not any one activity/diet etc that brings on arrhythmia, but any and all including raising LA in our bodies that depletes the number one mineral our hearts crave, Magnesium. Strenuous exercise is moving up the ladder, however it has a long way to go to catch 1.Alcohol and 8. Caffeine as Mag depletors. Your Mag intake is too low. 400mg is fine for normal people, but were not normal. Plus, gylcinate is very difficult to absorb and hold in, possibly only getting 100mg in your blood. I take on average, 800mg along with a few other things and increase that to 1200-2000mg depending on heart feeling and getting back to NSR. I use Mag Malate and Mag Oil.
I also am back to drinking moderately, mostly wine a few times a week and drinking coffee 1-2 cups in the morning. Just know I have to load up on the Mag when I do this.

Recently Dr Mercola published few studies that found that both marathon runners and long distance runners have arrhythmia. He claims also that researchers found that long continuous exercise is not as beneficial as short high intensity bursts, lasting only 20 min or so he calls it (HIT). I also wanted to add that I personally developed arrhythmia at age 58, shortly after completing my cross country trip on a bicycle in the year 2000. It supports of what Anne from Chicago said, about strenuous long term activity and possible "lactic acid buildup". I did not have any issues beforehand. I still have the AFIB, my pulse is very low (well conditioned athlete) but the hurt rate is irregular and the Drs for long time wanted to put me on blood thinners (for the last 13 years, but I refused). So far so good, but would like to get rid of the AFIB, now I'm 70 and still bicycle a lot. Taking Mg glycynate (400Mg) but not sure if it helps.

I have been having episodes every day (started two days ago when my heart rate when to 120 for over an hour and back up and down between 90-100-120.) I also get it alot when I eat certain foods. I do have heart conditions but in hindsight I have been doing good. I haven't been on any heart meds since I was an infant. I have had heart problems all my life. How long did you notice the change? I am almost willing to take these beta blockers. I am tired of dealing and being worried I am going to have an episode. I am looking for a natural route to go. I remember the first time I had an eposide it was New Years day of 2013. I ended up in ambulance and they told me I had SVT. My heart Dr says arrhythmia. I do need valve replacements but there is nothing phyiscally saying I need it immediately. I have had this issue for so long without any symptoms. I am hoping that if I do this Cal/Mag it will stop the paliplations. I just can't feel like this anymore.

Hello, I did the 2 TBSP of Epsom salt mixed with 8 oz's of water because I was having what felt like a skipped heart beat. I sprayed it all over my body & did notice that the skipped heart beats stopped within 20 minutes. Also I slept much better than I have in a long time. However the next morning I did have diarrhea. So my question is can a person get diarrhea from spraying the Epsom salt water combination onto their body this way? Not sure if it was from the spray or not. If from the spray then any suggestions on how much to spray in order to get the benefits of the magnesium. Thank you

Have you been checked for Lyme disease? That was the culprit for mine. Find a good LD doc and things will get better. Ellen

Hello fellow arrhythmia sufferers!
So happy to have found this website. I have read all the posts of natural remedies and cannot wait to try. I have pac's or ectopic beats everyday and night now. Have been to EP doctor and have had 2 ablations. 1st one did cure the tacchycardia but irregular beats persist. I will try acv with soda, mag, cayenne, molasses, and even giving up the yogurt and oats. I refuse heart meds and truly believe in the gi connection and a vitamin deficiency. God bless all of us to find the cure! Amy

Have you tried Molasses? It has 4 YEAS.
EDTA has been historically used to clean the arteries. Nattokinase has obsoleted EDTA. Unless there is a blood flow problem, I wouldn't think this would work for Arrhythmia.

Hi Mike from Stockton
I have fairly high blockage on descending arteries and get breathless easily, was 65% after NO intervention during an exam. That was 6 yrs ago. I continue along my merry way without stents etc and do Yoga, take nutrition and the occasional glass of wine weekly. I am trialling EDTA powder orally and, other than clearing out the bowel, can't assess any other benefits over 3 weeks. Take about 1500mg in divided doses over 24 hours on empty stomach.
You mention Serrapeptase - taking it for 6 months. How do you evaluate the blockages have cleared - you mention running etc. Did you have an angiogram to confirm?
Would you share the amount you took, and similarly for Nattokinase.
Many thanks.
For the user who mentioned homeopathic remedies I would love to know the names and dosages that worked for you. Understandably its different for each person but seeing a Homeopath may help me also.

I was having angina, I already have a double bypass, Atherosclerosis, a pace maker, and VA could only offer nitro as a cure. I thought, I am going to die. So I started researching homeopathic cures, and found basketfuls on the www & YouTube, and tried a bunch of them with a 95% turnaround in two months, no angina, no high blood pressure, clear arteries, no diabetes, no COPD, no body cramps.
I would now recommend two great products, Serrapetase removes anything nonliving from your system and arties, scarring from heart attacks, etc. And Nattokinase will remove blood clots. I am waiting on my first order of Nattokinase to arrive, and I just quit Serrapetase as I feel my system is super cleaned now. I want to see what affect the Nattokinase will have on arteries in the brain and possible headache cure and varicose veins. Doctors in Europe & Japan are using these instead of doing by-passes, angina, etc. I used the Serrapetase for about six months, and will use it occasionally in a lower 1/2 dose and maybe every 3 months, I will use it for a month.
I want to calm some fears for pacemakers & wires and stints, Serrapetase had no affect on these items in my veins or heart. I didn't short out or anything. BUT it did a job on plaque and I can tell the difference. I went from a 1/2 block a day to 2 miles, and can run up and down my stairs like a 16 year old. I am 68.
I thank Arginine for giving me strength. weight lifters use it too! ACV & Highlands pills for stopping leg cramps. Good tip. Take along some highland leg cramp pills when you walk. Your legs won't feel tired. And dilate before you go.
Just a WARNING!! Don't use these if you recently had any surgery or getting ready to have surgery. They can stop healing.
A good morning drink to clean arterys & end hardening, is to use 1 8oz warmed glass of water, add 4 tbsp lemon juice & 2 tbsp. honey.
A good night drink, 2 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar in 4-6 oz of water. Ends those night or early morning leg cramps forever!! If you feel any body cramp durning the day, use this method. The cramp is saying give me calcium, magnesium & potassium, one of those is deficit.
Wish you well!!

Blackstrap molasses! Sometimes--not often--I suffer from arrhythmia. Happened last night, still had it this morning. Tried Mag and ACV/baking soda without effect. Downed a big spoonful of blackstrap molasses, and my pulse became steady within a short time. Amazing!
Taurine

Dianne, i and my son battle with irregular heartbeats. What works well for us is iodine...and NATURAL salt. I used to eat 9 grams of Taurine and 800mgs of Magnesium and that worked fairly well, but I just couldn't see myself keeping t hat up. How could my body need that much Taurine? Check out iodine and natural salt. John

First off, I have to say that I just found your site, and read through many of the posts, and noticed that the dates were a few years ago.
I had A-Fib, took all the meds, to no avail, and then had an ablation, having it all return in a month. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I'm quite an internet researcher on natural and alternative methods of health care, so now I'm doing all the natural things to help my arrhythmia. I take Chinese meds with Dan Shen in them, which really help, the L-arginine, and taurine, in large amounts, which also help my Fibro problems. I take a ton of supplements, which includes hawthorn, cayenne, salvia, which is the Dan Shen. I'd rather take more than not enough, and the Chinese doctor and herbalist said you can't take too much. the fish oils, etc. and the regular regimen of multi's, etc.
When I have an episode, I take two droppersful of the cayenne extract in a little water, and sometimes, add Ylang Ylang essential oil, rubbing it over my heart, and on the heart vitaplex, which is listed on any site as for arrhythmia and I've also taken a homeopathic called Aconitum Napelus only as directed. I've read other places that this can be helpful.
And the sorghum is good, as well. I also have magnesium oil that I rub over my heart.
In saying all of this, I guess I'll try almost anything, as it is a fearful thing to have your heart racing and out of rhythm. Maybe one of these remedies will help some of you.
Well, here we are at the beginning of another new year. May all of you have a happy and healthy one.

Olive Oil

Please be aware that over 90% of the extra virgin olive oil sold in the US is adulterated with cheap vegetable oils like soy, canola, corn, etc. That is probably why you are having reactions when consuming the olive oil. There is an excellent book called, Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil by Tom Mueller. Your best bet is to go with virgin palm oil or virgin coconut oil.

Had bad heart arrythmia last 3 years. Afib three times. Last resort I started taking calcium/magnesium supplements 400mg magnesium per day. Within 4 hours my arrythmia stopped. I've had perfect sinus heart rythm for 4 months now. Take it every day. Gold label. Calcium Magnesium with vitamin D3. Feel like a kid again. Best thing I've ever done. No more cardioversions. No ablations.(which was next) Told the cardiologist and he seemed disinterested. Can't believe he would put his profits above someone's health and quality of life. Not a doctor and not an expert, but I'm telling you it's true!

1) Magnesium Taurate supplementation helps irregular heart beats. Mg takes 6 to 12 months to build up in the system, so, patience. It also needs daily replacement as we use Mg in all our daily life activites.
2) use of Transdermal Mg ( Mg Oil Spray ) on top of taking the pills will speed up the build up process.
3) Epsom salt bath or foot soaks (Magnesium Sulfate) is cheaper and would also help. Eat Magnesium rich foods in addition, but know that Mg in food will not be enough. Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and greens are rich in Mg.
These forms of Magnesium will have favorable reviews on Amazon by people who have used it. Use of Magnesium supplements promotes sound sleep, relief of nervous tension, anxiety and "hundreds" of health issues. Do Search on Magnesium Deficiency.

The deficiency that would be causing arrhytmia would be Magnesium. Search on Magnesium Glycinate, its an inexpensive but one of the best absorbable forms of Magnesium. Its a mineral supplement just like Calcium and Vit. D but we don't hear much about it. Doctors don't prescribe supplements, unfortunately, Nutritional supplementation is something we have to learn and search on our own like what you are doing now. I was in the medical field but It took me many years of search to have found Mg as help for many of my family's health issues. If you go on You Tube, search Magnesium Deficiency, you will learn so much more. Your family could use the info. Hopefully it would help each family member beat the heart irregularities .

Jessica, my husband has a terrible family heart history and also has arrythmia. If he stays off caffeine, it rarely flares up. A tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses daily is highly nutritious and helpful to many. It is good for muscles and the heart is a muscle. Also, cayenne pepper. You can get capsules with ginger in them, which is also good for the heart and makes it easier on the stomach. Mrs. Hill

Great site, thank you all for sharing this information, your stories, interesting POVs and advice. I'm wondering how many people on here suffer from hereditary arrythmia? Several people in my family have had it and I'm wondering if any of these arrythmia remedies would be beneficial for someone like myself who has it "in the genes". I suppose being prone to certain deficiencies might also be hereditary. But I'm wondering in my case what to start with, as there are so many options and suggestions. I've noticed my arrhythmia since I was 18 and its gotten worse over the years. Now I'm 37 and its still going strong and getting worse. I've had all the tests and Drs say "it's not the bad kind" of arrhythmia that might cause a stroke but it keeps me awake every night and has forced me to confront it. Best in health to you all.

I occasionally have bouts of arrythmia: weak, rapid, irregular heartbeats. I've found that a dose of magnesium taurate will get the heart rate back on track in an amazingly short time.

I had a cardiac ablation from a dr who put me on atenolol.. I had to be wheelchaired into the hospital and 3 days later walked out in perfect health... I had it done at New England Medical Center, Boston... The operation is nothing.. The anxiety before it is not good. But knowing what I do now, I'd have it done in a heartbeat (pun intended. ) Before I went in my resting pulse was 160, if I walked it would go up to close to 200 and I would just about pass out... The punchline is I never even had HBP once in my life.. But a dr talked me into going on it for "preventative reasons. " I was ignorant of the facts back then... 10 years ago and feeling fine.. They ablated 12 places where the extra heartbeats were coming from... The procedure is nothing.

Hi Steve, Thank you for your contribution. I totally agree that it would be such a treat to find a doctor who is actually interested in healing this Arrythmia instead of dosing you up with as many drugs as possible! I have just been told I may need to have an ablation and I really don't want to go down this road! Having researched Ablation it sounds very invasive indeed not to mention dangerous. It's Magnesium for me and Vit C and no more coffee or chocolate! :-(( Or Alcohol! ) Must try the Epsom salt baths and spray! What a great site! I wish you well and I will also steer clear of Ibuprofen also. I don't take it but now and then I might take a few for low back pain. I hope you are keeping well Ted and I'm sorry you've had to go through so much. Biddy
