Tea Tree Oil for Bartholin Cysts

Wow! Tea tree oil really works! I did heat compresses for the first 2 days, using cloth dipped in warm water and a homemade heat pack. I made the heat pack by putting uncooked rice in a clean sock and heating it in the microwave for 1min. I usually massaged the wet cloth with the heat pack. I also washed and cleaned the area with warm water and soap after every compress. Then I put rubbing alcohol and neosporin on the abcess. I took a long hot shower the second night, did another compress, and went to sleep. By morning it was just ready to burst and hurt like hell

I used a cotton swab to dab tea tree oil onto the big bump. I waited about 2min, then applied a maxi pad soaked in very warm water to the area. I felt it burst! Then I massaged it with my heat pack, and swapped pads and did this until the blood flowed slower. Then I took another hot shower and put a dry maxi pad on the wound to pick up any discharge. I will continue heat compresses and tea tree oil😊

This is for anyone suffering from bartholin cysts. I have had them on and off since I was 23 i am now 27. I have tried everything serrapeptase worked great the first few tries along with 800mg ibuprofen which helps with fluid retention. Then I tried epsom salt soaks only to find that it did nothing for me. I bought some tea tree oil and which hazel but that did nothing for me. So I was reading about essential oils I found 100% tea tree oil and I put it on a cotton ball and less than 30 minutes it burst and i felt istant relief. I caution you to buy real essential oil they are more potent and they really do work. But when you use it be sure to dilute it with another oil like coconut oil because it is will burn the skin a little bit.

Alkaline Diet
Posted by Jillian R. (Hattiesburg, Ms) on 06/09/2017

An alkaline diet is essentially a vegan diet that includes tons and tons of vegetables. You want anything that is dark, leafy, and green (kale, cabbage, spinach, etc.) It is also extremely important to avoid acid-producing foods which includes DAIRY. It is so acidic to your system. Avoid meat if possible. Some types of beans & nuts are also alkaline producing so include those! Tofu is a great meat replacement for an alkaline diet-type. But most important is lots of greens plus fruit! Also important is to eat some/most of your veggies raw...when you cook them, they lose their benefits

I've been suffering for BC two years ago, pay a visit to OB specialist, they given me painkiller and antibiotic to resolved it, I asked them to do procedure on me but they turn me away by saying that its only small lump. I went home walking with excruciating pain (it 10/10, I've never felt so much pain in my life). I took sitz bath (no added salt) 4-5times for about 4days, and cont taking antibiotis and painkiller before that little satan burst in afternoon. I was BC free for about 2 1/2 years.

Last friday (26/5/2017) I felt small little lump at my genital area but wasnt sure if its a BC or not so I decided to left it on its own. 2days afterwards, I felt it getting bigger but no pain felt, so I talk to my doc about it. She not giving me anything coz I said it doesnt hurt until the next tuesday(30/5/2017) I felt like it bugging me whenever I walk and sit. So I asked my doc to examined me and confirmed it was BC. (damn hell). She contact a specialist at nearest hospital to refer me to them, however the specialist asked me to try antibiotic first. I was a bit relieve coz its holidays weeks for us. So I decide to do sitz bath at home, I did few times a day (without salt) and massage that little satan, I bought serrapeptase online and took it 2x daily (since a pill is only 40uid, I took 3 to increase the dose), I also bought Australian Tea Tree Oil to rub at night, Kerdel Horsetail herbs supplement. I did everything for few days and the cyst getting bigger and its even hard for me to sit and walk (i walk like a monkey lol).

After trying anything I could, finally I felt like the lump has soften a bit but still tender to touch. So I did a mixture of baking soda and salt and apply it with cotton pad on my cyst, its not long I felt burning at my skin so I decide to take it of and continue with tea tree oil. I rubbed a few times a day.

Today(2/6/2017), I already lost hope to try anything I could. I told myself, if this cyst hadnt burst tomorrow I will straightly go to ER to make it drain. Before sleep I took a sitz bath again, and ate 2 tablet of horsetail herb and went to sleep without applying anything on the cyst. Sleep was hard when I cant even find comfortable position to rest my eyes. Few hours later, I touch the area and its wet, I try to move my legs and smell the odor, (guess what its foulty smell), so I get up and find my skirts all wet, when I turned on the lamp, I see blood and white yellowish stain. So I rush to bathroom and do sitz bath along to drain the cyst. Its a bit painful(but not as painful as having the growing cyst). After drain the cyst, I place a cotton pads with tea tree oil to ease the pain and prevent infection. I still can feel the small lump right now but not as painful as before. So I will continue to take my supplements and antibiotics, along with sitz bath and massaging the area to clears the clog.

My advice, its okay to try anything that u could, just don't lose hope. It will get better even it can make u depressed, emotional and physically hurts. I havent ate for 2days in a row, and I can feel that im malnutritions right now. Talk to some one about your condition. Im sorry to be lengthy, but I really do hope my experienced will help u guys a bit.

Lots of love,
Bella

Ladies I can't thank you enough for sharing your stories. My cyst popped up from no where I went doc's got put on antibiotics and then 48 hrs later developed a really bad fever and ended up in the A&E. so went there and they thought it had burst but a week later it came back full force painful to sit, stand and sleep and worse I was on holiday and had to endure a long flight unable to sit, stand etc it was so bad.

So 3 days after finishing my antibiotics I started getting mini fevers with shivering for 3 days and basically had to take paranormal and ibuprofen to keep the fever down which worked and it went.

With no option of seeing a gynea I took all your advice as I was on holiday. I sat in warm/hot baths which soothed the pain so much and helped me sleep but the cyst was growing more painful daily. So I decided to us apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball. I was only able to do this for 2 days (3 application over the days) cause it hurt so bad and to be honest I thought it made it worse but that is part of the healing. The pain got so bad at the airport on my way back home I put Vaseline down there to help soothe but that didn't help. Ounce I got home 12 hours late in so much pain (pain killers were not working I took. Othc patacetamol and ibuprofen) I sat in a bath with table salt cause I couldn't get anything else cause it was 12pm for 30mins then I applied tee tree oil and within 1 hour the cyst popped and started to drain. I did help it along cause I didn't want anything left inside it. I then sat in a warm bath again and applied more pressure to make sure it all came out. Then rises with saltly water then water mixed with tee tree oil and got a hot compress and now I'm in bed and all the pain is gone. Thank you so much ladies natural remedies really do work well, takes a few days but they work and once the cyst pops pain relief is instant.

How effective is Silica in treating bathrolin cyst? I'd really like to know about it. I come across the name by researching online. I've been having bathrolin Cyst recurrence and it make my life really uncomfortable and it's really painful and unbearable . I did the marsupilization and it still come back. Doctors don't seem to take this thing seriously so I am seeking natural and effective treatment. Tired of taking over the counter antibiotic that only help for a short while.

I got my first horrible cyst about 3 days ago. I googled cysts on vaginas and found this page. This morning I went and got coconut oil, witch hazel, turmeric, probiotics, tea tree oil, vit c and d. I have taken 3 sitz baths today and have kept it covered with tea tree, turmeric, witch hazel and coco oil. Just like one of the women here said to do. I am happy to report that after my last bath there was some blood. It's getting really soft and much less painful. I'm so grateful I found this forum instead of having my downstairs cut open. I will continue to take the vitamins once it's all gone to hopefully avoid another one. This was HELL. I don't wish it on my enemies. Thank you ladies for the help and advice.

I feel I've (reluctantly) joined the "Sisterhood of the Bartholin's Cyst." But I have to say how very grateful I am for all of you who shared your experiences and solutions to this problem. Overnight I discovered a cyst and it (in the words of my kids) "freaked me out." I hurried and called my Gynocologist who got me in, cut me and, while she could feel it, couldn't find it to lance it so, bless her heart, she numbed me up (how do you say, ouch! ) and rummaged around in there for some time before giving up and sending me home with antibiotics and a follow up appointment. The inflammation worsened and pain increased exponentially. Thinking of going back to the doctor to let her "try again" was...well, unthinkable. I had hesitated to search online for fear of scaring myself more but my fear of a repeat of my doctor visit superseded my other fears. Anyway, that is how I stumbled upon this group of brave and resourceful ladies. I ran out (or rather had my husband, bless his heart, run out) and gather up the supplies listed in this forum. I did sitz baths with epsom salts and tried the tea tree oil and witch hazel. I did the visualization, self talk and I gave prayers of thanksgiving (in anticipation of success) to my Creator for giving our bodies an incredible capacity to heal itself. I also got the turmeric pills too but didn't need to use them before the cyst burst while sitting in the bath. How do you say, "ahhhh! " I will start the tumeric now to aid in healing. I still have a ways to go -- more is draining but when I see my doc tomorrow, I will say, "no thank you to the needle and knife." Thank you my sisters!

WARNING!

This definitely does NOT work for most. Lancing it is only taking care of the current cyst, not the underlying reason for the drain blockage and swelling. Marsupialization is an option but in my opinion, not a good one. At least, it didn't work for me. I had 2 marsupializations done on my left gland after having it lanced and drained 4 times. I then had the gland completely removed surgically and it's been my only source of relief from the horrid thing!!! Well NOW... 10 years later... Right gland has decided to join the fun. I wanna cry every time I talk about it. I've had it lanced and drained 6 times already, I refuse to do marsupializations any more because they are extremely painful. Local anesthetic does NOT work in your genital region because of the amount of nerves so you feel EVERYTHING. Literally getting a hunk of flesh, shaped like a square, cut from the inside of your labia and stitches sewn around the edge of the entire incision. I was screaming like a horror movie victim.

All in all this is a nightmare and the ONLY thing that has worked for me is a large gauze soaked in witch hazel left on for overnight and if it hasn't burst by morning than applying a tea tree oil / coconut oil mix directly to it.

For the past 2 years, I had 4 Bartholin Cysts/ Abscess. The first time I had it I was so scared and went to the doctor with excruciating pain that I never felt before. Walking, sitting down is a torture. The doctor subscribe me with antibiotics and on the 4th day, it rupture own its own. The first time I had it I never did much research on how to do home treatment because at that time I am too focused with the pain I totally relied on the antibiotics.

The second time I had it, I couldn't think much because I know how painful it's gonna be so I went straight to the hospital. I was admitted for 3 days and was about to do marsupiliazation when it ruptured in the operation room right before the operation so the doc decided only to lance it. Even that is so painful.

The third time I had it I was like I am just gonna wait till it burst own its own. Without antibiotics it took longer time to burst, but the amount of pain is still, indescribable. At this stage, epsom salt/sitz bath helped me alot to relieved the pain. You could get the epsom salt at the pharmacy.

The fourth (hopefully last) was recently about 2 weeks ago. This time I decided to do home treatment and combined it with the doctor's antibiotics. I used tea tree oil at least three times a day. Just wipe it on the cyst, you will feel a tingling sensation but only for a little while. It will make you feel relieved as well for awhile. And guess what? It ruptured 2 days after I started using the tea tree oil. I recommend the australian tea tree oil as the smell is quite relaxing as well. At the same time, I took sitz bath with Epsom Salt three times a day.

Good luck! Hope this post could help you.

Hey! I'm 34 and a wee ago I noticed a bult next to my vagina, I thought it was a lymph node but reading online it was a Bartholin gland cyst. tw days was small third day was huge, as big seed (you can see the swollen labia) got red but no pain at all, and barely bother me, read that can get infected so I started taking antibiotics inmediatly (i had a box of ab so I used those), I got scared and washed with warm water for 10 min, 4 times a day. Nothing happened, the same. Until I got here and I read about the vinager, so at night I washed the zone, got a cotton pad soked in vinager and put it on top on the swollen zone (i did not put the cotton pad inside my vagina, only outside) it was soaked so the vinager was going in anyway, and my underwear also got all vinager wet.

Next day I washed everything out and changed underwear, my bult was the same and it bothered me a bit, maybe itchy, but during the day with the movement suddenly I felt my underwear wet, and when I checked it did burst, mostly liquid and a bit a blood, no infection, has passed like 3 hours and is half of the size, im not pressing it, just letting itself take out the liquid and washing frequently, I'l keep taking antibiotics for a couple of days just in case. I'm hoping it goes all out, other wise next week ill go to the doctor. Apple vinegar was my miracle solution :)

Castor Oil Packs
Posted by Christie Lyn (Kapaa, Hi) on 01/14/2017

My thinking is that the antibiotics wiped out your natural microbiota (microorganisms/bacteria in your gut, vagina, and on skin mostly) which is a huge part of your immune system. Then you took some sort of an antifungal to kill the yeast off. You threw your whole system out of whack. Sometimes it is necessary to take antibiotics, but they should be a last resort. Always take probiotics when taking antibiotics to replenish your microbiota. All sorts of terrible things can happen after taking antibiotics. This is an emerging field--one we know very little about. They now think that autoimmune diseases are the result of a disrupted microbiota and their cure may be in balancing out the microbiota.

Apple cider vinegar was one of the last treatment I used and was amazed, I've suffered from vaginal cyst on and off for the past 4 years. Lessons I've learned is to catch them early since I'm aware of the feeling that I start to feel down there knowing that possibly I'm catching a cyst. I took 4-5 bath with tons of salt, for 10-15 mins massaged it and even put some Castor oil in the bath for added circulation. Once I got out I let my vagina air dry then applied tea tree oil, and made sure I massaged it all over the lump I cfeel you might have to go a tad bit inside of your vagina a bit- because it grows on the inside of your labia and the bigger it gets the more it takes up the opening of your vagina. I did this method throughout the day. Then I found out about apple cider vinegar, I put a cap full on a cotton ball or I used a pad, cut it open and just used the top layer so it's doesn't absorb the vinegar. I then put the cotton layer entirely over my cyst and within 15-20 mins the cyst shrunk, I was amazed. I will be taking one last bath tonight applying the cider and compressing a warm rag over the lump, hopefully in the morning it will be gone. Hope this helps.

I noticed a lump on in the left side of my vagina on this past Monday I didn't think much of it as it wasn't sore but by Tuesday it was very tender and uncomfortable even when I was sitting still. I immediately searched for at home remedies and found this site. I am well aware of Apple Cider Vinegar medicinal abilities. So, I immediately went and applied some the the cyst using a cotton swab, I did this through out the day. And before bed I took a warm shower and rested with a cotton ball on the bump for about 15 minutes before going to sleep. I woke this morning to a smaller cyst and it doesnt hurt, it's still tender to touch but not uncomfortable to sit anymore. I will report back when it is completely head, but I just wanted to say for anyone who may be skeptical this is definitely works and I'm so glad I found this site.

Tea Tree Oil for Bartholin Cyst

I don't know where I read it but tea tree oil is the best! I hadn't had a cyst in 2 years! The last 2 I had (out of 5) at the time opened on their own after a painful week. The first 3 were helped with a catheter. The most recent 2 (total 7) opened on their own with tea tree oil along with hot compresses! It opens up my scar from the catheter and drains with no pain. Just gotta follow up with hot compresses and make sure you drain it well!

Today my cyst burst, after 6 days. I have had them 4 times before. This time, I tended to it early, and was only in excruciating pain the last 24 hours, and it did NOT grow to a lemon/orange size, or get infected, of which has happened to me before. The secret it to treat them super early.

I wanted to thank everyone for sharing on this forum and the others, because this think is the most painful thing ever and it's wonderful to be Googling remedies and read people's success stories when we're in such pain!

Today, actually, I called urgent care to confirm they have staff who know how to do a word catheter and drainage, because one time, I took the painful cab ride to an urgent care, and it turned out the person did not know how to treat it, and then I had to take another trip (luckily same day) to an amazing obgyn. Luckily, however, I did not have to go, because it burst.

I NEVER take aspirin or aleive - and today the pain was so HORRIBLE I took one 12 hour Aleve and was amazed at how well it worked.

You WILL get through this. Here's how I did it this time...without going to the ER or OBGYN.

Ingredients to get - if you can get organic get it, but don't worry if it's not organic.

1. square cotton pads

2. witch hazel

3. turmeric powder

4. coconut oil

5. tea tree oil

6. seal salt or mortens salt

7. apple cider vinegar

8. a few cup or small glass bowl - to mix ingredients, or to dip cotton into

9. spoon - for mixing ingredients

10. baking soda

11. Turmeric pills - to take orally - the brand I like is Gaia. These are the ones that are liquid inside the pill

12. a bathtub - I am so thankful for my bathtub!!

Things I did to make it burst:

Every day I had the cotton pads literally wrapped around the cyst. The skin around the cyst area can get a little raw, so just find a way to place the cotton near or around the cyst so the area around it is not getting rubbed in a way that hurts, and that the cotton pad is totally saturated with whatever you are putting on it.

I put some coconut oil in a bowl, and sprinkled the turmeric powder in the bowl. I mixed it so it became a paste. Then, I put the cotton pad in there, generously put as much turmeric/coconut oil paste on the pad, and then wrapped this around the cyst. It felt very calming, and like it was working! I went to work this way. I prepared a few other small cotton pads with the turmeric paste on it, and kept it in a spice jar in my purse. I changed the turmeric paste pads one time during the day at work to ensure I had enough paste on my cyst throughout the day.

As the days wore on, what I noticed was that there was actual blood on the pad I put on the cyst with the turmeric and coconut oil. This wasn't when it burst, this was before. My guess is the turmeric was somehow pulling out of the cyst a little bit of blood, and for sure, bringing the cyst to a place where it was about to burst.

In the am before work, and when I got home, and at night, I'd put witch hazel on the pads and put this on/around the cyst. This felt so calming and soothing. Later, I put tea tree oil also on the pad with witch hazel to give it extra powers.

I also took sitz baths 1 before work and 1-2 at night. I put tea tree oil and witch hazel in the bath. Please touch the cyst in the bath! Ensure it is getting all the water and healing oils to all areas of it. This will also help that it is not getting infected. This is so important when you are putting the cotton pads around the cyst - it will really hurt - but try and be sure that the witch hazel or tea tree oil really get to ALL the areas on the cyst and AROUND the cyst - so it does not get infected.

I also took baths with SALT - and think this really was something that helped me. Pour in alot, and be sure that it is dissolving close to the cyst in the water.

I tried ACV - a wonderful all healer - on a cotton pad and put it on my cyst but my intuition said that was not the strongest thing for me. I really encourage you to listen to your intuition and gut response to how each remedy is making you feel.

Later, when the cyst felt like it was --- really tight, really full of puss, like the skin of the cyst was getting thinner --- I put on the small cotton pad a mixture of baking soda and salt that I mixed in a small bowl. I read that in another forum, and think this really helped me pop it.

Right when I was researching is I could find calamine in my area to try the Phobey's remedy - it burst. Someone wrote to not worry if you have all the ingredients, and I agree. Just use what you have and keep trying.

Another thing that helped me with my last cyst - and this one is prayer. Prayer in ANY WAY that works for you. I also literally "talked to" the cyst - and just thanked it for bursting, and visualized it bursting, and visualized me being so happy when it was finally OVER. These things are HORRIBLE, but you CAN get through it. I did, and I felt like I was about to pass out from the pain on the 6th day. And that was the day it finally burst.

Witch Hazel

Have had a Bartholin cyst for several months now-before today it was less than the size of a grape and not painful or even uncomfortable. Today it swelled up to the size of a walnut and became very painful to sit down on or walk with. I had previously tried tea tree oil, compresses with water and tea bags, and apple cider vinegar, and none of it worked (though the tea tree oil softened it a bit for a while). I had some witch hazel pads leftover from when I gave birth a couple years ago, and so I put one on the cyst hoping it would at least soothe it a bit. Within a few minutes the pain was almost gone, and when I went to check it ten minutes later I couldn't even feel where the cyst had been. This was from a pad that was almost completely dried out. Luckily my mom had a bottle full of witch hazel, so I reinvigorated my pads and put another one on. Going to keep using it for a few days to be sure it stays gone, but I am absolutely thrilled that this worked so quickly. Wish I had used them several months ago when I first found the cyst!
