I got a UTI and it turned into a kidney infection. I wanted to go the natural holistic route. I first tried what many suggested on EarthClinic such as D-Mannose, Cranberry juice and organic Apple Cider Vinegar. To my great surprise it did nothing for me. Absolutely nothing except turn my UTI into a Kidney Infection. I even tried Parsley tea, which helped, but didn't quite do the trick. I finally gave Olive Leaf Extract a go and was finally cured. In my case it took 4 weeks from the time of infection to when I was cured.

I took ONE capsule FOUR times a day spaced out, which was at least 1000mg of Olive Leaf Extract a day. I used two brands, one with Olive Leaf Extract with 250 mg per capsule and another Olive Leaf Herb Extract with 300 mg per capsule. When I ran out of one, I used the other. This miraculously and completely cured my problem. Folks, I was in serious pain urinating and experiencing terrible pain lower back (kidneys). I can honestly say this was the ONLY thing that worked for me. A family member even took the same dosage for kidney stones and they were cured after taking it for a month straight.

The only "negative side" to taking Olive Leaf Extract was that I had bowel movements ever other day as opposed to every day, but it was worth it. I also had to drink lots of high pH water. This was the easiest natural cure for my UTI turned Kidney Infection. =)

Try Stinging Nettle Root first. It can help with that problem. Mine shutdown and that's what helped open it up. I took two 500 mg capsules.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Ted!! I have been suffering for a week and a half with a TERRIBLE bladder infection. I have tried every remedy in the book, not wanting to resort to antibiotics. I tried D - Mannose, Uva Ursi, Baking Soda, ACV - NOTHING would touch this! As a last resort yesterday, I decided to try the Sea Salt Remedy. I did as Ted instructed and took 1 tsp. of sea salt disolved in a glass of water, then I purchased some unsweetened cranberry concentrate (100% juice) from the health food store. I drank about 3 or 4 glasses during the day, of the juice mixed with water, according to the directions on the bottle, and by yesterday evening everything was SO much better. I woke up last night and went to the restroom and for the first time in nearly two weeks - NO PAIN! I have just drank water since last night before bedtime, and each time I have gone to the restroom STILL NO PAIN. Everything feels pretty much normal now. No bacterial odor in the urine, no burning upon urination, no painful bladder cramps or urgency - NOTHING! I really believe that this infection is GONE! Ted you are a lifesaver. Thank you for this WONDERFUL REMEDY!!

Alka Seltzer

I have suffered with UTI's for about 20 years. I have had procedures that were very painful because the doc recommended them, however nothing worked. I had a urologist tell me that half of his patients carried anitbiotics in their purse to take when needed. This was a scary situation to be in because I wondered what would happen the day the antibiotics didn't work for me. I think I would slit my throat... Kidding. But, my last UTI incident I was out of pills so I attempted to go to the urgency clinic but could not get in because they were only taking acute patients with severe problems. When I got home, I told my husband that I could not get in to see the doc. He had read about the Alka Seltzer. Well, had nothing to loose so I took 2 that night and by morning I felt much better. I now take one Alka Seltzer per week for maintenance and have not had another UTI incident for one year. It has truly worked for me and highly recommend it.

infection will be gone.

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Nan (Canada) on 07/09/2022

A few other points:

- People who suffer from UTIs frequently might want to carry oregano and goldenseal tinctures (or pills, if available) with them, ready to take with water at the first sign of discomfort.

- Take very hot baths with 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup ACV (organic, if possible) whenever needed, every hour if necessary - it does help a bit.

- When the infection is healed (or during an episode), a visit to a homeopath/naturopath might be in order. Many people with UTIs are helped by taking Cantharsis or Apis Mellifica, or other homeopathic remedies. Just know that each remedy is specific to the exact kind of discomfort or pain the individual experiences, so it's best to check with a professional.

- With severe chills or fevers or pains, visit urgent care or your doctor immediately.

- My number one tip is that you start on this or some protocol the MINUTE you feel a twinge. The earlier you stop the infection from growing by the hour, the better. Do not go to bed tired, thinking, "I will treat it in the morning." It will be too late by then.

I have been getting cystitis on average twice a year for over 25 years.. I used to just get antibiotics and drink cranberry juice but they don't work for me anymore so I started trying natural remedies. After over a month of battling with limited success, I tried this:

First I drank a half pint size glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon squeezed into it.

Then 10 mins later I took a heaped teaspoon of D-Mannose (extract of cranberries).

Within half an hour I could tell it was working, now the infection was a bad one so I had to do it again about an hour or so later. Then again 4 hours later. Then once more the morning after. In the days after that, if I ever felt it threatening, I just drank the lemon water and that was enough to stop it.

It's worth noting that I had been taking D-Mannose prior to trying it in combination with lemon with very limited success.

D-Mannose, Lemon

Hi, I'm 48 and have been getting uti's since I was 16. Antibiotics don't work for me anymore, so in desperation I searched for a natural cure.

I tried a number of things, acv, bicarb, herbal mixtures, d-mannose, garlic, fasting, cranberry.

A month in, the d-mannose was the most helpful by far and kept it at a low level but wasn't fully getting rid of it. I was having to take copious amounts and the test strips never went to less than a light purple.

Until I tried this (inspired by a feedback comment on Amazon): half a lemon squeezed into a glass of warm water, drink that and then about 10 mins later, a heaped teaspoon of D-Mannose.

Half an hour later the test strip was completely clear of leucocytes! I repeated this every few hours for a day or 2, then a maintenance dose once a day in the morning for the next few weeks.

I call it citricide lol and it has been a miracle for me. I am posting it on here in the hopes it might help others.

Bee Propolis

It's the first time I decide to contribute to the site, since I was helped in numerous conditions in the past. Nevertheless, despite the valuable advise, all these years I never seemed to find relief from UTI, a plague I thought I'd never gotten rid of. I'm now 37 and, other than the UTI's, a happy, healthy individual. I went through a nasty cystitis/urethritis once, caused by Esterichia Coli. Back then Mannose had helped, but I never felt well ever since. The year-long condition I used to suffer from, at least up until last month, is described as honeymoon cystitis.

Every time I've had a partner I had to live in an inhumane condition and suffer unbearable pain and misery, stinging, intolerable burning and urge to urinate which never eased, visits to the toilet day & night, totally unable to put up with underwear, go to work or do anything other than cry and suffer. I had tried everything. I was tested through numerous cultures of urine and vaginal fluid and the only thing ever found was Ureaplasma Urealyticum. I was given massive doses of antibiotics (once I had to take Vibramycin for 22 days), which didn't relieve me and only worsened my situation in the long run. I drank massive amounts of soda, my best bet being some minimum temporary relief. I am meticulously clean. I tried every natural aid in this site and elsewhere, literally everything, you name it, every bitter, gross herb/substance in nature. Homeopathy didn't help either.

Last summer, my cousin who's a bee-keeper, gave me a couple of bee propolis clumps to make a propolis tincture (I'm sure you can buy on-line, but here is the recipe, for those like me who want to try at home:

100gr. of pure, unprocessed propolis (cut in the size of peas) in a 720gr jar filled with 95% pure drinking alcohol.

Leave in a warm, dark place for 30 days, shaking the jar from time to time. After that, pour the tincture through a cloth in a bottle. Done).

Last month, exhausted from the year-long torture and excruciating pain I was suffering, I was driven to do something crazy: dampen a piece of cotton with drops of the propolis tincture and put it straight on my genitalia. The moment I did, I felt a horrible burning underneath, but my pain was so awful anyway (the night before I was peeing traces of blood and pus) that I decided I would put up with it as long as possible. I wasn't able to take it for more than 20 seconds. And that was it.

A couple of minutes after I had removed it, all pain stopped. I didn't need to go to the toilet anymore! I repeated an hour later. I drank a lot of water, ate a couple of garlic cloves, wore my underpants and went to work. I had my propolis bottle with me. The next 7-8 days I only had to apply the cotton once daily, in the morning, for a few seconds, and then I was ok for the rest of the day. I've also been taking 20 drops of the tincture in half a glass of water daily. Now, whenever we make love with my partner, I keep the old habit of rushing to the toilet right before and after, and at the slightest sign of unease I'm quick to apply propolis. I know I'll be suffering for about a minute, but I will be perfectly well the rest of the day/night - and without medication. Propolis is a wonder of nature, it saved my life and I really wanted to share it and help as many people as I can.

Thank you for your time.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

When I was together with my daughter's father I would get frequent urinary tract infections, especially after sex. I read here about the apple cider vinegar and baking soda remedy. So I tried it and it worked every time I needed it! I mixed 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar (though I found just regular white vinegar to work, as well) and just 1/4 tsp baking soda in a tall glass of water and would drink it as I felt comfortable, sometimes just sipping throughout the day or other times drinking a lot at once if I was thirsty. It's actually not an unpleasant drink in those proportions! It would always get rid of the urgency to pee within like, 30 minutes. Thank you so much!

I was in a car accident when I was young which left me wheelchair bound. This accident seems to have a negative effect on my bladder and I am prone to UTIs. I have tried many things but Dmannose seems to help the best. I have now moved on to d Mannose that have Cranberry and Hibiscus. They taste better so that's a big improvement but I feel that little bit more healthier.

Baking Soda and Molasses

How to Kill a Urinary Tract Infection

Baking Soda and Molasses helped me to get rid of a deadly UTI. As a single again woman, trying to impress God, I have fought like a manic to keep my life clean. And since I have no one who knows this as well as the Good Lord Himself, If I have to say so myself, I have done a pretty good job these past thirty years to live single and separated from the special privileges of marriage since I am not married. So where did this UTI come from?

All I know is, I came down with pneumonia, the hospital gave me antibiotics, which cleaned out the pneumonia and left me with a UTI. Since I was seemly, out of date with fighting a UTI in my older age it act like it came to stay. My body forced me to give up sugars and starches because it made the conditions worse. I tried so many things that Earth Clinic and the internet suggested: probiotics, baking soda, vinegar, garlic, folic acid, over the counter suppositories etc. that somewhat help but did not cure this condition.

The UTI seemed to want to outlive me! Turn to your neighbor and say, "it cannot stay, it cannot stay." A week had passed, two weeks had passed and none of the oldies seemed to work. But praise be to God I came across what some people call the Cancer Cure and decided to try it. "Ha, ha, ha it worked for me. I laughing because though I suffered with this about three months, and it even took most of my hair with it, ( I tell you that UTI had the devil in it), I out lived it! .

I used Molasses and Baking soda, and sometimes Honey and baking soda dissolved in hot water. Even though as a norm sweet was not allowed on my diet, this sweetness seemed to do actually what they said. The article said the molasses or honey was bait to draw the baking soda in the cells to kill the bacteria or cancer cells.

I tried to be nice, as a Bible walker you learn how to talk to the mountain. I tired saying, " Urinary track infection go! " And when the UTI would not listen, I had to get a now word from the Lord, and it was the Molasses and Baking Soda for me. I used to take it twice a day. ( ½ teaspoon of baking soda stirred in about a cup of heating water on the stove. Then stir in a tablespoon of molasses and drink hot or cold. I was immediately feeling better. I drank this until I was sure the UTI was dead. Another words, I took it until I was able to eat my regular foods without a back lapse.

I learned about body PH on Earth Clinic and I often wonder if it has to do with my body PH being too low that I fought with this so long.

It has been almost two years since I had the Pneumonia and its family, and I am still trying to strengthen my immune system. I am thinking that I should perhaps go back to my original low sugar diet until my hair makes a comeback. I think I will.

Oregano Oil

I literally made an account just to share my ordeal with this stupid UTI I've had it since the summer but didn't know, I just ignored it, mind you my diet is pretty clean so it's no surprise that I kept it at bay to the doctors surprise. One doc wrote me a script for bactrim & told me to start it right away. I didn't. I saw my Gyno 12 hours later who told me I am just dehydrated....... The urine came back positive for E. coli a few days later and the test also stating the bacteria being immune to bactrim.....dodged a huge bullet there. So its been a week of me drinking lots of water and cranberry juice (not cocktail). I've been taking d mannose, an herbal pill called bladder comfort, and I've been drinking lots of tea with ground thyme in it (I ingest the thyme powder), and I've also been eating a light diet comprised of yogurt and toast, minimal carbs and sugars, and taking a probiotic. All of this for a week made my symptoms more mild but didn't really dissappeaR.

But I bought oregano oil today and ingested the wild mediterranean one which is food grade, and my symptoms seem to be vanishing and it's only been one day!! I'm excited to see this uti finally go! And naturally!!

I think my uti was stagnant for so long that's why it's taking me longer to flush it out. It's been about a week I'm anticipating another week or so. Naturally healing takes a little longer

D-Mannose is WONDERFUL. Like many women, I've gotten UTIs all my life, particularly after sex. I wish I had known about D-Mannose a long time ago, because it would have saved me from taking many courses of Bactrim and Cipro (and, as many of you know, the more antibiotics we take, the more resistant the bacteria become). D-Mannose works by attaching to e. coli and carrying it out of the urinary tract, so it's gentle on your system, and I have never noticed any side effects.

I recommend that you use the powder, rather than the pills. I didn't find the pills to be effective, especially when there's already an infection present- they might be more effective for prevention. The powder only tastes a bit sweet, like a mild sweetener, and dissolves easily into any liquid. If I have an infection, I'll take quite a bit of it, up to two tablespoons, several times a day. And then I drink a lot of water to aid it in flushing the bacteria out. My other recommendation is to buy it online, because it will be half the price it is at a store. I use the subscribe and save program on Amazon and just have it delivered regularly so I never run out (which, as I have learned, can become an unpleasant and desperate situation resulting in buying a bottle at Whole Foods for $36). As a nurse who used to work in a nursing home, I wish doctors knew about this stuff- so many of the elderly patients always had UTIs and were constantly on antibiotics. I wish more women knew about it, too...which is why I'm posting here! I hope my post will help some poor soul find relief, without a trip to the doctor and a script for unnecessary antibiotics.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda cleared my UTI infection. I had two urine tests done before I started taking it and it showed that I had a UTI. Went here on earth clinic to search up remedies and started taking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with 1/4 baking soda in a full glass of water. I did this 2 times a day after meals... I wanted to do it 3 times but I didnt want to drink after 6 pm (because I would be urinating all night). I did this remedy for 4 days. I went to another doctor to take a urine test and they called me to tell me that my test came back negative! Which means my urine was normal! Oh my god, I was so happy!! So it really does work! I'll keep you updated because I still had an appointment so see a Urologist so i'm going to double check one more time with him which is good. So please, try this remedy - it is AMAZING. Thank you earth clinic!

Sharon: For the above poster to report such extensive natural remedies and still suffer UTI, there is yet underlying issues. This means a Gallbladder Cleanse and a Colon Cleanse is necessary or the infection continues. Once you do the cleanses and do the other natural antibiotic herbs listed above, then you can begin Probiotics in moderate doses for prevention. But before buying Probiotics, start replenishing with Kefir. You can make Kefir yourself or purchase from grocer or health food stores that stock it. WalMart has Kefir, some with added natural or otherwise fruit flavor as well as sugar, and some without.

As for capsules of Probiotics you want as many strains as possible but with an abundance of Acidophilus & Bifidus. 1-4 Billion units total is good maintenance but up to 40 billion for disease treatment. Also be sure to get a product with Preprobiotics like FOS which helps your gut manufacture Probiotics itself. As for brands it's up to you but start with something affordable and go from there.

Alka Seltzer

WARNING!

I have suffered from recurring UTI's and kidney infections my whole life. I do all the right things, but my anatomy lends itself to frequent infections. I have been prescribed C***o in the past, a very harsh antibiotic that's given to anthrax patients, many times and was just fed up with having to take so many expensive pills. I got a UTI two weeks ago and decided to try some of the cures on this site. I will admit, Alka Seltzer (taken as directed) almost immediately got rid of my urinary pain. However, 3 days later I was in the emergency room with severe lower back pain, fever, and fatigue. The UTI had traveled to my kidneys. I was "forced" to get a shot of an antibiotic and take a round of antibiotics to get rid of the infection. I am currently doing a detox to remove the toxins from my system, but I just wanted people to know that the Alka Seltzer may make it easier to urinate, but it will not cure the infection.

Who would have thought sugar would be be the cure for my constant UTI's? D-Mannose has made my life so much better. Every 2-3 months a UTI would flare up. It has gotten to the point where I can feel it start and know immediately what it is. I would go to the doctor to tell them. Hey! I don't need the lab tests. I know my body. They would roll their eyes. They need do the lab test anyway. The tech would call... Surprise! You do have a UTI.

After a while, the drugs and doctors visits were overwhelming. I found out of D-mannose on this site. It is a wonder! Now when I feel a UTI coming on, I take a couple doses of D-Mannose for a day or two and it is gone. I has changed my life for the better.

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus Tea Prevents UTIs Flavonoids in hibiscus tea possess antibacterial activity. Gossypetin prevents bacterial biofilms that cause UTIs. I few years ago I developed recurring cystitis to the point that my GP wrote me a prescription for a course of antibiotics. Antibiotics are the worst option because they destroy both good and bad bacteria. Once antibiotics are stopped an infection can often resume with a vengeance. I tried D-mannose first, which worked OK for a while and then I tried hibiscus tea. Hibiscus tea was a complete game changer. Within two days my UTI had completely cleared. One cup of hibiscus tea taken every night with my evening meal is enough to keep UTIs at bay. I have never suffered a UTI since. I always try to make sure that my kitchen cupboards are stocked with enough hibiscus tea.

Oregano Oil

Once again, I got a UTI. I'm older and seem to be getting them more frequently. This time after I had an illness (was told by a cupping practitioner I'd had COVID) and I had had diarrhea for a couple of weeks. This gave me the UTI, even though I clean always with water and soap after using the bathroom and am careful to not do the things I should not. I got it anyway.

I'd gotten other utis in the past couple of years and never want to go on antibiotics but I could never get rid of them on my own. Cranberry never worked for me, I tried D-Mannose without success.

Then I read two solutions that worked for others that also worked for me. I'll post this under each solution.

The first is lemon water. One person said cranberry never worked for them (me neither) but lemon did. Hot lemon water 2x a day. It was so much reduced at the end of the day, I was so surprised! I did it for two more days but I still felt twingey.

I had a doctor's appointment the next week, and I thought I'd have to go on antibiotics because even though lemon helped tremendously and immediately, I could still feel it.

So I came back here and started going through every cure. One woman posted about oil of oregano and cornsilk tea, and that she'd had a bad bout of diarrhea and got the UTI right after that, like me. It helped her so that she did not need antibiotics.

I have both cornsilk tea in the house and oil of oregano and made it right away. This was the solution that kicked the final bit of it out of my system. I had to do it for several days. By the time the doctor appointment came days later, I didn't need to say anything to them about it. I felt a little twinge about three days after I stopped taking it. I took two more cups on two more days.

This is the first time ever I have not had to go on antibiotics for a UTI. I hope this helps someone else.

Also the practitioner I saw said if you have diarrhea and UTI, after using the bathroom, first rinse the area with water, then wash with soap and water. Then mix a teaspoon to a tablespoon in a small container of warm water (like a handheld bucket, mine is maybe four cups max). Use that to cleanse the area well. Don't do it frequently because you don't want to kill the good bacteria in the area, but this can be done as a cleanse on a short term 3days or so basis to keep the area clean to help heal. It helped me feel better right away. It doesn't heal the UTI, but does a great job of sanitizing the area for you.

Thank God for this website. May our Creator bless and heal everyone who comes to this site looking for cures, to those who post their solutions and give all of us hope, and blessings to the developer and people who work on this site.
