Putting 1/2 cup sea salt in a bath of hot water to which you bathe for at least 20 minutes helps with a bladder infection.

There is always good old cranberry juice for a UTI. It worked for me when no antibiotics did. You want pure cranberry juice and not the so called cranberry juice cocktails. I was prescribed this treatment as 3 cups per day of pure cranberry juice by a VA doctor after trying every antibiotic available and it worked for a chronic urinary tract infection when nothing else did. It cleared the infection in about one week for me....Oscar

Baking Soda

Baking soda (1/2 tsp in 8 oz water every 2 hours at the onset of a bladder infection, repeating for 3 days) has been 100% effective for me. It changes your body's alkalinity making it inhospitable to bacteria. When I was in the throes of a terrible bladder infection, here are the steps I took and worked like a charm (and it's never gotten this bad again now that I know to start the baking soda at the first sign):

1. Take 600mg ibuprofen to reduce inflammation of the urinary tract (and I wash this down with the first dose of baking soda water).

2. Frozen pack wrapped in a towel held over urethra to reduce inflammation.

3. Doing these 2 things makes me able to urinate normally within an hour.

4. To completely kill the bacteria and keep it at bay, you must keep doing the baking soda water every 2 hours, urinate frequently, and wake up a couple of times in the middle of each night to urinate so bacteria can't breed--do this for about 3 days and you'll be good. If you start to feel signs of UTI returning on that 4th day, restart the regimen immediately and keep doing it for a couple more days (but you shouldn't have to).

Baking Soda

UPDATE::: Ok guys, the vitamin C cure DID not work, as the cream of tarter in a few inches of water, DID NOT WORK EITHER. Baking soda didnt work, and I got sick and could have possibly poisoned myself, (i just read about the dangers of taking too much baking soda online) UGH....

I was beginning to despair, so NOW, Im feeling great, and for the last week or so Ive been taking massive doses of Echinacea, (4 4oomg pills 4 times thruout the day) but altho I was feeling better, it wasnt really nipping my problem in the bud, as I was beginning to have excrutiating pain at night, and by now I starting to feel fully convinced I have the dread, interstitial cystitus!!!

Guys, D MANNOSE!!! I have tried D mannose TWICE before inthe past and it seemed to do nothing for me. It was like drinking sugar water, it seemed to be the most rediculous cure ever!!!!! However, after tireless internet google research, all these women were swearing by it, (even saying things like, 9 out of 10 women are cured by D mannose, and I have interstitial incurable bladder disease and this cured me) so I decided to give it another go.

I tried a really cheap brand of D mannose before, and some women claimed that it DOES make a difference to go with a high quality more expensive brand, and that not all d mannose are created equal, I guess, so I spent about $25.00 for a little jar.

It says on the jar to take a teaspoon every 4 hours, (like 4 times a day) and double for a raging case, (like mine) I took a teaspoon and a half every 2 hours like SEVERAL times a day, and by the third day, I really almost feel normal again, I feel great. I ordered another jar, I really think its working!! Its pricey but worth it.

I suppose the d mannose receptors attract e coli to them and then they attach off the wall and get flushed out of the bladder. Ive also read the d mannose can do this to sperm! So be careful ladies, if your trying to conceive, I read d mannose might interfere with pregnancy. They are even trying to patent a contraceptive using d mannose, lol! I was thinking of using d mannose as a preventative, as many women have had success doing that, but since I want to have a baby... I'll have to try something else when I dont have an infection. Im gonna try a brand of herbal cranberry supplement sold on amazon. One women claims after intercourse she takes 2 pills and a full glass of water and she hasnt had an infection in 10 years.

Im going to continue the d mannose for another week after my symptoms have fully gone. A teaspoon three times a day. Good luck ladies, and I will report back with my progress!!

Cinnamon

Cinnamon as a curative for UTI (urinary tract infections). Use/mix with toast or small yogurt. Stumbled on this when researching the topic of UTI's. So my wife gave it a try and... Bingo. Situation solved. Now a regular part of her diet. Also, when our female dog was passing blood the vet. wanted to schedule an operation he thought things were so bad. Took her home and just thought before we brought her back we would give her some yogurt with cinnamon. Next day urine looked perfect and brought the vet a sample. He was in disbelief as she tested normal. We've told many people about this as it is easy, cheap and really works. So for people and pets try it. Just a teaspoon seems to do it. We give it daily to our pets for years and never a problem since. Hope this post helps someone.

Olive Leaf, Turmeric

OK, guys, I'm sure by now, it's well known, (since I've tried every cure on this website known to man) My struggles with Chronic Bladder infections on here.

Recently, I broke down and went to the hospital to get antibiotics. They didn't work, it was alarming truly, this is modern medicine. After, about, THREE trips back to the hospital, and THREE rounds of antibiotics, and about 4 months of struggling with my latest bladder infection, I finally found a natural cure, that I think is very effective.

I was frustrated, nothing was working. I tried the ACV, I tried sea salt, baking soda, alka seltzer, EVERYTHING. Coconut Milk, (which tastes really gross)

My friends, a combination of Olive leaf extract, and turmeric herb cured my stubborn bladder infection.

You have to take about 2 dropperfuls of olive leaf extract (alcohol free) dissolved in a cup of water about three times a day, along with 2 caps of turmeric herb, three to four times a day.

This is intensive treatment, but that's what it took for me.

I cap my own turmeric by the way, in veg. caps 00

Coconut Milk

Absolutely.

Coconut milk does appear to work for a bladder infection, or UTI.

Ever since I had my daughter 4 years ago, I get chronic bladder infections, I'm prone to them. I get one about every six months. I've tried everything from the over the counter medications to cranberry supplements, syrups, and juices, Uva Ursi(which has worked for me a couple of times), and Apple cider vinegar(which is sometimes effective at getting rid of minor bladder infections in the early stages).

Last year, it went to my kidneys, and I became very ill. I had a full blown kidney infection. At that time I was on the apple cider vinegar trip, ( I was stubborn, my Mom kept telling me to just go to the doctor and get antibiotics, and I didn't listen till the last minute)and that did nothing for my kidney/bladder infection. When I finnaly broke down and went, they put me on STRONG antibiotics I was amazed at how effective they were at curing me, and within a week, my infection was gone, but then I got the worst yeast infection I've ever had in my life, and so I spent another week battling that, LOL!!!

Sometimes you need to break down and get antibiotics.

However...this time, although I did not have a kidney infection, just a bladder infection, and the antibiotics they put me on, weren't as strong, they really weren't working for me and I was getting frustrated, so I decided to try coconut milk.

The day I decided to try the coconut milk thing, I woke up with a nasty cold. I kid you not, within three days of drinking a can of coconut milk a day, the cold was COMPLETELY gone, and the bladder infection much, much better!!!

I've always had techniques to shorten the duration of my colds, like vitamins and teas and stuff, but I've never had a cold just be gone, in three days.

I've been having to deal with this painful bladder infection for 3 weeks now, and now it seems to be gone.

I drank about 5 cans of coconut milk in a three day period. Also, at first I didn't like the taste so I sweetened it with ice and sugar and it tasted awesome. By about the second day I didn't mind the taste so much so I just made sure to chill the can in the fridge before opening it. works!!! I'm amazed.

Alka Seltzer

I have had a recurring bladder infection for a couple of months, but yesterday after it struck back with a vengeance I got desperate. I got no sleep last night, up at least a hundred of painful times, and could not even get to the bathroom in time so I had to start walking with a towel shoved between my legs. YUCK! This morning I found this thread, and while the person's story about kidney infection is scary, I immediately took two Alka Seltzers, got into a warm bath, and by the *time I got out* I was peeing normally. I'll go to the doc. But I'm amazed. How can it possibly work that fast??

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil cured by urinary tract infection. I took only one tablespoon a day.

I used "___ Coconut Oil" from Whole Foods.

I had a urinary tract infection with moderate to severe symptoms for approximately one week, and then mild to moderate symptoms for two weeks thereafter. I wanted to avoid antibiotic medication at all costs, seeing as the effects of those antibiotics can be as problematic as the problem itself. (Don't get me wrong -- I understand that sometimes you HAVE to take these things. But in this case, I wanted to find a way around it).

I spent the first few days chugging cranberry juice and drinking water. This was pointless and did absolutely nothing. I even used unsweetened, pure cranberry juice which was terrible to drink. It probably works for some people, but not for me.

Then I tried some random supplement especially formulated for curing UTI's from Whole Foods with cranberry extract and d-mannose. This worked better, but still not enough.

Next, after reading the reviews on this website, I tried apple cider vinegar. This helped, and reduced my symptoms of the UTI by about 40%. However, if I forgot the ACV for a day or two, the UTI would come back.

The only thing that worked 100% was coconut oil. I took a single tablespoon each day. It helped tremendously and cured my UTI. I don't know if coconut oil will work for everybody, but for some reason, it worked incredibly well for me. Since I only took one tablespoon in the morning, I imagine it would work very well if they took two tablespoon, one in the morning and one at night.

So before you try using antibiotics (which can be ineffective, especially if the bacteria develop a resistance to the antibiotics) *TRY* coconut oil. Just go to Whole Foods and buy cold-pressed coconut oil.

I didnt know what to do, talked to a friend and he said get acidolpholus (sp?) and overnight it was so much better I was up and going to do all I had missed days before...!!!

Sea Salt

A while ago I had a bladder or urinary tract infection. (I am unsure because I didn't go to a doctor.) There wasn't much pain except for when I was done urinating. It seemed like my body was trying to push more out than it had. During this time I always had the strong urge that I needed to urinate. When I'd go it be a very small amount of urine. This had went on for a little more than a week when I then noticed blood when I wiped. Knowing that that was a very bad sign it was either a trip to the doctors or search the internet. I came across the remedy of drinking Sea Salt. That night I drank a teaspoon of Sea Salt in water. About an hour after doing so it felt as if my body was trying to cleanse itself. It gave me a loose stool and urinating felt the same. I decided to wait a couple of days before attempting either more sea salt or if it had gotten worse to go to the doctor. A couple days later I was fine. No more discomfort or blood in my urine. A teaspoon of Sea Salt in warm water did help a lot. I would recommend trying it.

Baking Soda

I have chronic bladder problems (Interstitial Cystitis) and am always looking for something to make it better. I drank 1/2 tsp of baking soda in some water during the worst possible bladder pain ever. In 15 minutes the pain was gone. I feel that the baking soda made the urine less acidic and that let my bladder be less irritated. Anyway, baking soda did what hundreds of dollars of meds could not do--make me feel better!

UVA URSI WORKS!!! This supplement will cure the most stubborn bladder infection. I tried everything you buy at the store, and tons of cranberry supplements and juices. Nothing helped me. Uva Ursi was the only thing that worked and worked quickly. 2 caps at night and 2 caps in the morning. $4 for a bottle at the store.

Definitely NO sugar/fructose/etc with a UTI. Just a small amount of sugar (as little as 1 tsp and there's a lot more than that in sweetened juices) can suppress our immune system, putting our white blood cells into a temporary coma. And your white blood cells are the immune cells which fight infections.

Alternately, you could dilute it (2:1 ratio, 2 part cran juice to 1 part water) and/or add some Stevia as a natural sugar-free sweetener.

Methylene Blue

★★★★★

Had a bad bladder/UTI infection. Pain in the lower abdomen, mild fever and sweating. Tried oil of oregano and black seed oil for about two weeks; no change. Finally checked through my health database and found an article by Dr. Joseph Mercola. Excerpt below:

“Methylene blue has also been shown to have several other health benefits, such as:

Reduces the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) — I consider this one of the most significant uses of methylene blue, as it offers a powerful, gut-friendly alternative to antibiotics for treating UTIs. This is especially beneficial for the elderly, who often have compromised gut health.

Since methylene blue isn't metabolized by your body, it gets excreted by the kidneys into your bladder, where it accumulates and eventually reaches concentrations high enough to act as a strong oxidant, effectively targeting and eliminating pathogens in the bladder.”

Started with 10 drops of 1% liquid (5 mg) in a few ounces of water twice a day (tasted terrible). After the first day, all symptoms were done. Continued this dosage for 4 or 5 days to insure that the infection was gone.

Side effect, my chronic tinnitus was dramatically reduced.

Will continue taking at reduced dosage for the tinnitus and as a preventative for infections indefinitely.

Urolesan sold on Amazon (overpriced of course because it's sold by private companies)is the #1 European medicine for UTI. It's the first thing doctors in Eastern Europe recommend for UTI. Manufactured by pharmaceutical companies. Every woman knows about Urolesan. Works fast.

Active ingredients: 1ml of product contains 67.6 mg of fir oil, 16.9 mg of peppermint oil, 92.95 mg of castor oil, 194.35 mg of wild carrot liquid extract (1:1), 278.8 mg of hop cones liquid extract (1:1), and 192.95 mg of wild marjoram (Origanum majorana) liquid extract.

Corn Silk

I have used corn silk extract for UTIs with great success. I found that cranberry works specifically on a particular bacteria associated with UTIs, but if it doesn't work for you, what to do?

This is the one I used: https://www.herb-pharm.com/products/corn-silk

I found immediate relief from pain/itching - by the end of the day, that symptom was gone.

The dosing is easy - 1 dropperful in a water dilution / dose (there are instructions on the label for dosing)

You may find this option works faster & costs less than all the cranberry remedies.

I also use Lugol's for UTI, but I apply it topically with a cotton-tipped swab to an area of skin measuring about 2" by 2". I apply it three times over a 2-hour period, and possibly a fourth time after another hour if it's a persistent UTI. By the end of that time, the urine is clear and the pain is gone. Lugol's is incredible stuff.

Alkaline Water

Hello, I had a very uncomfortable Urinary Tract infection a week ago and I bought the product one finds at the pharmacy (AZO tabs.) which usually works for me. I took the full dosage and this time the AZO pills didn't work?

I had to go to the doctor and I was given one pill for Fungal infection until they could test my urine to find the real culprit and as usual I could not get results until Monday as everyone is closed for the weekend. The Fungal pill seemed to work, but the next day the Infection and pain was back again! So I read that some women are helped with UTI by drinking alkaline water so my husband and I drove into town and bought 2 gallons of alkaline water to see if it would work AND IT SURE DID! Alkaline water (I drank quit a bit) relieved me of all the pain! The pain came back after one day and a half for about half an hour and then it went away again after I drank more Alkaline water! What was weird was that even though the pain was gone I had some slight discomfort in my lower tract and lower back area. I continued drinking the Alkaline water. Then about three times when I went to urinate my flow of urine was hot? I never experienced hot pee? After the hot pee episode every symptom of the UTI problem was gone! Including the pain in the lower back and lower stomach area! I feel back to normal and will not have to go back to the doctor if this continues. Also for seniors a retired nurse told me that UTI can be dangerous for Seniors and is the second cause of death for seniors. The infection can go to the kidneys and cause Septic! Very dangerous!

So take this infection seriously! Especially if you are a Senior!

Baking Soda

Here is something I came across. Could be useful.

FORSKALIN
"After customary antibiotic treatment, the vast majority of the bacteria are either killed by the antibiotics or eliminated during urination, " Abraham said. "However, there are small numbers of bacteria that survive antibiotic treatment because they sneak into the lining of the bladder, waiting for the opportunity, after antibiotic treatment, to come out and start multiplying again."

The researchers found that forskalin has the ability to force the bacteria out of their niches and into the urine, where they can be killed by antibiotics.

Abraham said that forskalin's action makes intuitive sense, since the herb is known to rev up certain cellular activity. This heightened activity in the bladder causes the specialized pouches to "flush out" their contents -- in this case, the hiding E. coli.

"This herb has been used in Asia for centuries for a wide variety of ailments, " Abraham said. "However, one of its constant uses has been for treating painful urination."

D-Mannose
Posted by Anne (Orange County, Ca) on 10/09/2020

There is a link between meat, chicken specifically and e coli which causes many UTI's. I happened to read the case study about it today.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20080990/

I just ate some chicken last night but I feel my best eating a raw food diet, it makes my arthritis better and I feel less inflammation. For the UTI, I use the sea salt remedy I found here at Earth Clinic. It really helps within the same hour -- you feel 50% better!

Colloidal Silver
Posted by Ashley (Minneapolis, Mn) on 06/08/2016
★★★★★

Colloidal silver is amazing for UTIs. I have tried so many remedies: cranberry extract, raw apple cider vinegar, oregano oil pills, and d-mannose. For me, D-Mannose did work, but I got horrible gas pains using it (seems to be a rare side effect). For me, colloidal silver is the fastest and most effective way to get rid of a UTI. I just follow the directions on the bottle that I get. Mine happens to be 500 ppm (part per million) and the bottle suggests that adults take 1/2 teaspoon twice daily. Doing this 3 days in a row tends to clear up almost all infections, though you can always go longer. My bottle suggests that you not go over 14 days in a row. Though as a preventative measure to UTIs, I have changed my diet. I very rarely eat meat or dairy products and just consumed more veggies, fruits, and whole grains. Though meat tends to affect me more than dairy. I find that if I eat meat more than 3 days in a row, I tend to get a UTI.

Multiple Remedies

I developed a very painful bladder infection that affected the right side of my body from under my ribs to my knee. It was incredibly painful, just a little more bearable than gallstones. My sciatica flared on my right side as well.

I started taking Acidophilus Pearls every morning and night in addition to unsweetened Cranberry juice and Apple Cider Vinegar in water throughout the day.

For the first few days I took Colloidal silver in water, then switched to a few drops of Wild Oil of Oregano (93%) under the tongue a few times a day.

I took Magnesium and Turmeric for pain and inflammation management. (although I had to mega dose ibuprofen at night as that when it was at its worst)

I really started to improve when one morning on a whim I took a capsule of Activated Charcoal (260mg). The pain completely subsided! I took another around lunch and remained pain free for a few more hours. I couldn't take anymore as I can get very constipated if I take too much. I did this for two days.

The pain did return each late afternoon but I continued with the cranberry juice, OOO and Acidophilus. One the second day of using AC, before bed, I ate some pineapple and drank Senna tea.

The next morning.....no pain. Nothing. Like I never had the infection.

Not sure what finally did it, but happy it's gone after 6 days of agony!

I did continue with the cranberry, Acidopilus and OOO to be sure it wouldn't come back.
