Apple Cider Vinegar

I have an occasional excessive sweating and body odour issue - right arm pit only! I have been suffering on and off with this since August (last bad case of this was a few years ago) and have ruined so many clothes and am so self conscious I just had to do something. Luckily I found the earth clinic website yesterday and all the wonderful advice from posters.

Today I applied Cider Vinegar to my armpit and left for a few minutes before showering (not organic with mother but I shall definitely be investing in some). I also applied a different deodorant from my usual one and have been dry and non-smelly all day.

Am also making a conscious effort to move my arms more/massage my underarm and drink lots more water.

Thank you to all contributors on this website!

WORKED TEMPORARILY

Yes, the same for me. It worked really well for around a week and I was stoked! Then it lasted shorter and shorter amounts of time. Back to the deodorant.

Anti-Candida Diet, Grapefruit Seed Extract
Posted by Healthnut (Los Angeles, Ca, Usa) on 10/09/2011

This Yay is not for anti-candida diet because I don't follow that, but I've always had a very strong/unpleasant body odor, it started with puberty and I think it's because I got parasites (pinworms) as a kid and never told any adults because I didn't want to suffer the humiliation of having them pulled out of me like other kids did. I think the pinworms would go away and come back and I just dealt with them and this has caused my very strong unpleasant BO, because parasites release toxins in your body and the horrible smell is the evidence. I've used natural deodorants from healthfood stores for the past 15 years, they are not that effective but I use them anyway. I can't use anti-perspirants, they cause huge sweat balls under my armpits that hurt and they make me smell worst.

Last night I had a breakthrough, I bought GSE (grapefruit seed extract) and put it in fresh pressed coconut milk/water and drank that. I put about 30 drops. today, I woke up wiht no BO whatsover and that is almost impossible for me, I have a super strong odor, usually an hour or two after washing/shower. I am besides myself, happy and decided to look up GSE and BO and sure enough people have used it. I also rubbed GSE under my armpits. I'm doing my own parasite (pinworm) cleanse by eating 11 cloves 3x a day, cranberry juice, I'll incorporate the other ingredients prescribed by curezone.com I hope this helps a lot of people out there. God bless you all!!!

Chlorophyll

I spent nearly four hours reading everything I could on this site. It was unbelievably helpful, but most of all it made me check out what was going on in my body, supplements I'm taking and their effect, and noting changes in my body. I had an additional problem of urinary incontinence where I would have small leakage during the day. I wore panty liners every day and washed, washed, washed.

After reading on this site, I realized I wasn't drinking enough water and my urine was too strong, so I increased the water, took liquid chlorophyll for the urine odor and vaginal odor and it was 80% better. I haven't used the hydrogen peroxide yet, but bought some to douche with. In the meantime I douched with a little tea tree oil and grapefruit seed extract. That helped a lot. Going to do all three (tea tree, grapeseed, and a few drops of chorophyll) and alternate days with hydrogen peroxide. I'll either come out smelling like roses or blow my va jay jay up! I also found out taking B12 causes excessive sweating and stopped taking it. I take a B complex 100 instead. Actually, as you can see, I'm trying to find what will work for me.

I found the chlorophyl really got things cleaned out and started. It's an all around good guy and cleans out unwanted bacteria, gives you more energy as it increases oxygen output, creates healthy blood cells - enriching blood, etc. Etc. Read online its benefits. There are so many. Right now I have no vaginal odor and am doing kegel exercises that's helping the incontinence. Am really grateful to you ladies (and gents?) who cared enough to share. It helps so much to know there are alternatives. God bless you all!

I will not go into detail concerning the torture that I went through for almost 2 years searching for a cure for underarm odor. But, I will say that I tried it all!!

I wasted alot of money buying things to treat a symptom. Eventhough I thought I was pretty healthy. I eat the right things, excercise, drink water, take whole food supplements, etc. But, this smell would not go away!! To combat this issue internally. I started out with a colon cleanser that didn't do the trick. The very first day that I consumed 7 wheat grass tablets. It did the trick (My body was toxic. ) Now all that I use for deodorant is Coconut Oil, and I got my normal fresh smell back. To God be the glory!!

If you are having bad odors, you will need to do a really good detox. If your just talking of an alternative for deoderant, this is what I make for my boyfriend: I buy the liquid crystal salt deodorant spray and add 30 drops per 1oz to it of each of the following: patchoulli & cedarwood & sometimes frankinscence. For a female, I use 30 drops patchoulli, 30 drops cedarwood, and 30 drops of jasmine. Both of us get commented on it daily asking where to buy the cologne & perfume! LOL

Lemon worked very well for me as well and after a while I didn't need to use it as often! But the best thing was Chlorophyl tablets or else Spirulina, Chlorella and Chlorophyl powder. After taking this for a while I never smelled again! Before, even if I took a bath every day I mostly ended the day with bad odor!

Hi Vidiz, My husband had very bad problem with his body odor so after reading some posts here we stopped using soap in the shower. Soap is now only used to remove excess dirt or grease. Lemon (lime to expensive here) is applied under the armpits and nothing else and this works. At the beginning we would also apply the lemon a few mins before showering as well as it takes a few days of this before the smell becomes normal smell. The only soap we now use is an ayurvedic neem and lavender one with no glycerin and on rare occasions it is used as a shampoo. We also don't use any shampoos (not even the natural ones) and use borax water. Oh and also for the first week he still used the crystal deodorant but not now. To be honest we were surprised at how well this worked. We have now been doing this for about a year. A relative who would occasionally complain about my husbands odor, suggesting he needed to use deodorant (which he was already wearing) now does not complain.

We also had bad candida and now it is nowhere near as bad, so it may be worth doing the spit test to see if it is a problem for you as it can also contribute to odor problems. All the best.

After showering and scrubbing armpits with soap, apply lemon juice to armpits. Do this right out of the shower after drying off. This seems to stop the odor. I am one who will be stinky if I don't use deodorant even a few hours after a shower, but this works.

Of course you could just try a different deodorant, some just don't work for some people, even if it has in the past.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your experience, I have had the same problem and I wonder if it is related to taking vitamins/supplements and the detoxing process, anyway, what has worked for me is to apply zinc oxide paste (very inexpensive and found at most pharmacies) after I shower at night. Then I shower again in the morning and don't apply anything (no zinc oxide, no deodorant, etc. ). I also always make sure that my shirts are worn only once before I wash them since bacteria can stay in them and then, well things get ugly. I don't apply zinc oxide in the morning since I am afraid it may stain my shirt, I hope this helps, good luck!

I recently had a bad experience at my workplace awhile back and these guys kept talking in a non-discreet disrespectful way (maybe because they didn't have the guts to tell me I stank). Had a few close friends whom I kept asking if I did smell... Even asked my ex bf if I did and he said I never did. But these 3 guys talked about it and how they made rude and loud remarks, rubbing in my face that I smelled like onions or rotting squid or some degrading adjecive that they could think of... It really made me depressed and think if I really had body odor. I used antiperspirant/deodorant, the same one for 13 yrs... Then one day it stopped working. If I dont use it, I smell kinda musty in the armpit area. In the Philippines, it's mostly 95 F and up ALL YEAR ROUND and people here are so self-conscious about smelling, especially for women like me. I just want to get rid of the stink. I just hope MoM will work for me.

I already tried antiperspirant, didn't last because my underarm sweats a lot (like a lot).

Tried tawas crystals or potassium alloy crystals (powdered and the crystal), worked for awhile but I started stinking again after 2 weeks... Don't know why... Maybe the potency of the crystals?

Tried a local lime (Calamansi juice), put the juice in the underarms but I think when I sweat it worsens... The freshness just smells like vinegar almost hahaha

Latest experiment is to try tea tree oil after showering then putting on MoM... will it be more effective if I use baking soda after I let the MoM dry out?

Please help me regarding this matter.

Thanks for the posts everyone. :)

Great post!

I have been using baking soda for over 5 years and nothing else. It's the only thing that works for me and it works perfectly, I could even go a few days without a shower if I had to (and I live in hot South America). I'm sure the rock deodorant kind works also but I have never been able to find it (plus soda is CHEAP and works, so why not).

I don't find that baking soda irritates the skin. What I do is after showering I put a little soda on the palm of one hand, and with the other drop some water so the mix is in watery form. I mix with both hand and then *gently* apply on both pits and let air dry. If you rub it too hard you will irritate the skin and it will burn. I suppose the same happens if you do it after shaving.

Milk of magnesia equally works but it's more expansive and it leaves a "gooey"/stick feeling.

Body Odor:

Ever since I was 13, no deodorant completely worked for me. I made the mistake of trying every chemical-laden deodorant on the market. I didn't realize, until I weaned myself off of commercial deodorants, that it is the DEODORANTS that are the problem!! I switched to rock type deodorants (there are several different brands, you can buy the kind with the rock or spray-on liquid) about 4 years ago and I will never go back to any other kind of deodorant ever again. In fact, when I do put on regular deodorants now, my body completely rejects them and I break out in horrific, very painful rashes. A few tips for effective use:

1) You need to give your body time to "detox" after using regular deodorants before the natural crystal rock kinds work for you. About 1 or 2 weeks is usually sufficient before you notice a real change.

2) Follow the directions carefully or the deodorant won't work! Apply IMMEDIATELY after getting out of the shower. For a rock deodorant, wet the rock under running water and apply about 20-30 strokes per armpit (yes, really, that many). For a spray deodorant, apply 4 or 5 sprays under each arm.

3) If the natural deodorant doesn't work for you on its own, you can also apply baking soda to the armpit area. Be forewarned though, baking soda can be a little harsh and can leave you with raw skin if used everyday.

- If you are experiencing a lot of body odor, also try the following things which addresses the issue from the inside out: oil pulling, taking coconut oil internally, taking ACV internally, eating an all-natural diet, eliminating toxins from your household, and using all-natural dioxin-free tampons.

Female Body Odor:

To prevent this, wash gently with a 100% natural glycerine soap everyday, which can be purchased very inexpensively for approximately $1 at most grocery or health stores. Don't use regular soap or body washes that are not formulated for use in this area - this is a very gentle region and a body wash that doesn't have a very neutral pH will sting and irritate the area. The more chemicals you can keep out of this area the better (latex condoms, tampons that have dioxide, douches). If you are still experiencing odor after keeping good hygeine, see a doctor, because it might be the sign of an infection.

Foot Odor:

Rock deodorants can be used for this same purpose - and it works! See the instructions above for application. I prefer the spray-on for ease of application.

Mouth Odor:

Good oral hygeine is key. Brushing after every meal and regular flossing are obvious solutions, but if this doesn't work on its own, see the EC posts for oil pulling, oil of oregano, hydrogen peroxide and sea salt rinses.

Choose a deodorant that doesn't stain.

A good deodorant is one without leaving residues and odours behind. I've been using UARMSOL deodorant for many years now, even when I sweat, I have no more underarm or armpit odours. I applied 1 pinch and it's all to it for the whole day without worries about any smell afterwards. There's no chemicals, oil or fragrances added. No staining clothes too. There's no after sport smell or odour masking. And the best thing is I don't have to shave!

As an added bonus, the skin under my arms is no longer irritated and bumpy-it is smooth just like any other part of my body. Try it-it is the ONLY thing that has worked for me!

Lime or lemon works great as well. Just cut a fresh lime of lemon and rub it on the underarm and the odor will disapear. You must reaply every day but it cuts the odor. Fresh juice only ond not the bottled kind.

Homemade Deodorant
Posted by Angela (Seattle, Wa) on 08/03/2011
★★★★★

First of all, thank you to those who posted about Milk of Magnesia. I am going to try that very soon.

What has worked for me for the past 2 years is homemade natural deodorant. It does not "cure" body odor permanently, but it does work to eliminate smell if used each day.

I found the recipe on a natural homemaking blog. It contains some combination of the following igredients:

-coconut oil

-baking soda (preferrably natural)

-cornstarch or arrowroot

-shea butter (optional)

(Mix all together adding more cornstarch or baking powder as needed to make a thick white paste that becomes mostly solid, depending on the temperature in your home.)

The shea butter was recommended because baking soda can cause a rash after prolonged use. Only a little shea butter is needed. I have had the best success mixing this with cornstarch baby powder. Coconut oil is an antibacterial, so it really cuts the smell.

Some people have made it thick enough to be shaped into a recycled deodorant case. I just put mine in a tupperware dish and rub it on in the mornings. I also sprinkle on excess baby powder to dry the area as it can feel a little oily. Many people swear by this deodorant. I am so thankful to find it and be free of the scary aluminum anti-perspirants. Feel free to Google search to find more recipes out there.

Hi I have the same body odor problem. I have hyperhidrosis so I sweat a lot. I cant step outside without sweating and as soon as I start sweating I start to smell. This started back in the 6th grade and has been controllable until last year my senior year. I smelled so terrible I that I started to stink up the whole class. It became so bad that I started to skip school to avoid ridicule. My doctor prescribed hypercare but all it did was burn and itch my armpit. I missed 70 days of school and my gpa dropped from a 3. 4 to a 2. 6. I wasn't able to get accepted to any of the colleges I applied for. I cant even take a step outside without smelling so terrible. I tried baking soda but my armpit get rashes and I've been drinking ACV with the mother and showering with it also. How long until it takes effect. I'm desperate here...... SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

Hydrogen Peroxide Spray

I get 12% food grade hydrogen peroxide and dilute it with rose water. Approximately 70% hydrogen peroxide and 30% rose water. I put this in a small spary bottle, then after I get out of the shower and dry off I use about 5 sprays per armpit and rub it in. When I am really stinky I use this in combination with ACV, sprayed on a few minutes before I get into the shower. If you have armpit hair then the the hydrogen peroxide will lighten it and if you shave your armpits then it might sting a bit.

I had ingested the bentonite clay (1 Tablespoon diluted with water; 15 ml) to reslove some toxicity issues and noticed that my body odor was completely solved as well. it has absolutely no taste and no side effects. it didn't make me nauseated like ACV makes me feel. also make your salivatory glands pure so your mouth is "fresh". I love this stuff.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Acidophilus
Posted by Willow (Lexington, Ky) on 06/20/2011

Hi,

I accidentally cured my body odor problem when I was treating myself for bacterial vaginosis. I am on a strict regiment of herbal supplements and vitamins. One of these includes acidophilus and apple cider vinegar (with mother). After experimenting with several types of acidophilus, I wound up taking a gelcap version that requires refrigeration. It has 2 or 3 BILLION live active cultures. This is the dose that I maintain daily. After being on this for a month and half, I noticed I didn't have to fight with body odor - which I always felt was a symptom of some other underlying issue. I used to prepare my day around the fact that I would sweat through deodorant. I was using rubbing alcohol daily after showering to kill remaining bacteria. I packed deodorant EVERYWHERE I WENT. I truly feel I got to the root of the evil bacteria by taking probiotics and ACV though. I tried everything from various natural deodorants, to no deodorant, to the horrible "anti-sweat" deodorants. The acidophilus and ACV has truly helped maintain a healthy pH. I just make this very much a part of my daily life and I have no more issues.

Hope this helps.

Instead of going to the trouble of buying a hand sanitizer... Why don't you just buy a small bottle of eucalyptus 100% pure essential oil or tea tree oil essential oil. That is pure with nothing else. There are other essential oils that you can use that kill bacteria as well. You could dilute them with some water and put them in a little bottle for use when you are out.

try hand sanitizer- 1 time in the morning and if necessary repeat once or twice during the day. You can buy a tiny bottle for your purse, in case the smell comes back. Hand sanitizer kills the bacteria. hand sanitizer is basically rubbing alcohol.

Since I started using lemon juice I never looked back! Soon I will try and see how many days I can go without using it. Even on very hot days (and we have had quite a few this year), I can wear clothes made of artifical fibers without smelling at all! Before, even with the best deodorants I would get to the end of a hot day and I would be smelling. I think that the problem for most people is bacteria, at least for under arm odor. Now even if I don't have the time to take a bath on a hot day I don't smell! When I travel I take a couple of lemons in my suitcase wrapped in a plastic bag.

I LOVE this site!!! I have learned so much. But I do have a question about the BS / ACV combo for armpits, as ther are so many posts on it, I was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me. Am I supposed to use BOTH? Or use baking soda after the ACV? Is it better to use the BS wet or dry? I read some posts where wet usage was recommended but I ended up with a white drippy mess :) Is it better to just pile it on dry

I really hope someone can direct me properly, I have bad odor under my left arm only, incidentally this is the same armpit where I have developed a large cyst several times from store bought deodorant, I have tried all types-even the crystal which did nothing for me. I am polycystic to begin with so I try to watch what I use on my skin.

One last question about the baking soda: I shave frequently so how long should I wait for the ACV or BS application? Thanks so much everyone for your time and valuable posts, I love this community and am spreading the word about Earth Clinic.

Zinc Oxide Ointment
Posted by Sue ( Jamaica) on 06/18/2011

What I am thinking is this, if the reason for the body odor is not the deficiency of zinc, then zinc tabs won't work. If the body is highly acidic, then I can understand why the ACV works. Whatever is causing the BO will predict what will work and that is why some cures work with some people and not with others.

Baking Soda
Posted by Debbie (Melbourne, Australia) on 06/05/2011

Correct me if I am mistaken but I read somewhere that body odor is caused by bacteria on the skin. If you kill the bacteria, you kill the odor. Even bathing in ACV would be beneficial, or a few drops of Tea Tree oil on a wet flannel. Coconut oil under the arms would also do the trick.

Hi Greggitta, have you tried lemon juice? I don't think that I used to have such a problem with transpiration smell as you but I had a bit of a problem anyway. Since I started rubbing half a lemon under my arms morning and evening a few weeks ago the smell stopped completely right from the first day. It has been very warm here and even though I don't take a bath everyday anymore because of my dry skin I never, ever smell. I have the idea that the lemon killed the bacteria that was causing the smell. I will try now rubbing the lemon only once a day, I think that it will work. I ingested VCO for awhile but I never thought of checking the odor as I was using deodorant anyway. Still, I feel the lemon works better than any deodorant I ever tried. I even take a lemon with me while on a trip as one lemon lasts me a few days and I am trying it out for the white spots on my skin as well. I just carry it in a plastic bag.

I have had terrible under arm odor on the right side for decades. I've tried a lot of things. I started ingesting Virgin Cocout Oil 2 days ago - shooting for 1 tablespoon twice a day. No bathing before bed last night and I still woke up this morning smelling like a rose. I can't wait to go dancing. ;-)

I struggled with body odor (it smelled like old lunch meat... To be so discriptive! ). I started taking flax seed for other reasons (fiber intake and hormones). The body odor receded, but I do not know why... Either because I was having more active bowel movements or it changed my hormones. I am just happy I don't stink anymore!

Now, my husband struggles from a sore back, and no, it is not related to a vitamin/ mineral or exercise issue... He stinks! Because he bathes only once a week. If he would only shower more I would not make him sleep on the sofa! Hence the back problem would be solved! LOL

I have tried several different formulas over the years, suffering from underarm odor since a teen. Clinical deodorants, natural deodorants, salt crystal, tea-tree oil, witch hazel, and NOTHING has worked as well as MOM has. I have only been using it for a week now, but I hope it lasts for me as long as some users have reported. Before, I did not have profuse sweating, but immediately after showering I could notice an odor. Alternatives to aluminum-based deodorants would work for a couple of days, but this is actually going over a week now on MOM and I'm super happy about it.

I find using a small spray bottle works best for application, I purchased mine in the travel/trial-size product area of the local pharmacy. I spray one spray under each arm before bed and after showering, and allow to dry before dressing, and have no trouble with odor now AT ALL. I still sweat mildly, but it's natural for our bodies to eliminate sweat, so I'm not worried about that. It was just the BO and now it's GONE! I highly recommend this to anyone, it's a cheap and effective solution.

If you are not eliminating your bowels regularly and completely at least once a day, you may have a build up of bacteria, which escapes the body through our sweat, our breath etc. You should try a good colon cleanser, be sure to take fiber, omega fish oil 3-6-9, and probiotics with it. Try this and you should notice a difference within a week. You may still sweat some, but without the embarrassing odor.

Mary from Minneaplois really got me to thinking... It only makes sense that the really horrible underarm odor is internal. I took her advice, got me a good colon cleanser, I already use crystal deoderants, and added probiotics to my regimen. It makes sense that keeping the colon free of fecal matter reduces or rids the body of embarrassing odor, from breath to underarms. So, while I agree that using ACV, & other remedies can be successful, don't forget to keep your digestive system healthy, it all starts there. Be aware of the unhealthy foods we eat that can contribute to unhealthy digestion, and lets load ourselves with the one thing we've heard forever, WATER! I began this a week ago, and already I've seen remarkable results. The underarm odor is all but gone, and I just feel better.

I just started using nothing but coconut oil as a deodorant. I'm loving it. I've used many kinds of deodorants including the sodium stone, and so far this is the best for keeping odor under control

My 8 year old daughter also had an odor issue - her underarms smelled 'oniony'. I had her using deodorant, but have found that (evco) coconut oil and baking soda do the trick. Using equal parts, melt the coconut oil, then stir in the baking soda. I put it in a small plastic container and put it in the freezer (just until it hardened). She uses a swipe of it under each arm every morning, and what a difference! I couldn't believe it...

Powder With Cornstarch

Several years ago I switched to natural deodorants from aluminum based anti-perspirants/deodorants due to health concerns and skin irritaton. Eventually even the natural ones began to irritate my skin, so I tried powder with aloe and cornstarch. It works amazingly well for days when I don't do much sweating, like a typical workday sitting behind a desk. Usually one application in the morning is all that's needed. I'm thinking of keeping some at work, so on warmer days or on days that I go for a walk or bike commute, I can do a quick wash of my underarms in the restroom and re-apply. My underarms feel so much better! Healing after a long time of being irritated and raw.

Body odor tip: avoid caffeine! I discovered after I stopped using deodorant many years ago that I have nasty smelling perspiration a few minutes after drinking a cup of black tea (which I am a real guzzler of, truth be told). Last year I experimented by cutting out black tea for a few days and voila, no smelly BO, zip, zero. Anyone who is having issues with body odor should try this!

Kleemarti from Tampa, Florida, Hillsborough, I had some pretty bad reflux not so long ago. The #1 remedy for this I found on manukahoneyusa. There are types of foods and drink to avoid and those you should take but most important smear 1 tbls of the active manuka honey on (in my case) a 1"x1" piece of rice bread (no wheat gluten) and chew well and swallow do this about 20 minutes before each meal. Initially you will feel a slight sting (healing sting) but the honey will coat the esophagus and start healing. This actually works for many digestive issues. The honey has to be applied to something (bread apple, banana, etc) or else it is absorbed into the bloodstream too quickly.

Now knock that reflux out, the manuka saved my life.

I have been using a 3% solution of H2O2 with baking soda for the past 2 years as a deodorant and I never have underarm odor. Simply mix a 3% solution from your 35% FG H2O2 (I would not use the stuff available at the grocery store because the impurities in it will be absorbed into your delicate underarm. Afterall this was why I stopped using deodorants). Spray some on a cloth and dip that cloth into the baking soda and rub in on. Wipe off any excess.

For my stinky pits, I now have a concoction that works wonderfully. After showering, I first rub virgin coconut oil on my armpits. Then I wet a finger with water and dip my wet finger into mixture of a little Borax and baking soda, and rub that on. Then I end with a squirt of vodka. (I mix in a spray bottle vodka and a few drops of sandalwood essential oil. ) When I just used baking soda, my pits became irritated and dry. I believe I had a yeast problem, thus the Borax; and the VCO for the dryness. No more body odor for me!

I switched to more natural soaps and the deodorants without aluminum and so many chemicals since those irritated my skin, and was using them with success for at least 1 1/2 years. However, I started having problems after I started a new job. I do not know whether it was stress, diet, different clothing fabrics, or some other factor. I started getting recurring rashes on my armpits so at first I thought my deodorant was contaminated, but buying new ones did not help. I suspected moisture was a factor, probably causing excess bacteria or fungus growth. The aluminum-free deodorants do not stop moisture, but that was not causing a problem before. Eventually odor was also getting hard to control also, like never before. I even switched back to an aluminum anti-perspirant and a deodorant soap, but that was not helping.

I turned to this site (of course) for a deodorant remedy after deodorants were no longer effective and started using ACV with "The Mother" about a month ago. I use a cotton round to apply ACV in the morning, keep it on for a while, then rinse it off in the shower. I often use it before bedtime too and just leave it on, especially when I was trying to heal the rashes, which ACV probably only helped to heal and did not irritate at all. I also do not rinse it off if I am just staying home.

The vinegar smell is very strong at first, but it fades after it dries and with time, or after rinsing. Now I have no more odor problems as long as I keep up with it daily. I also do not have a problem with rashes anymore. I have not used soap or deodorant on my armpits at all since I started doing this. What I love about ACV is that it is not messy, there is no residue, and it is great for the skin! I even use it after hair removal (I use an epilator), but I see others saying the opposite, so be careful.

Even though the vinegar smell fades, I can still smell ACV a little bit up close. It is not a bad smell (and no odor most importantly), but I am always a little self-conscious wondering whether others can ever smell any vinegar on me up close. My husband does not notice it, but he does not have the greatest sense of smell either. He does hate the smell though when I first apply it of course! Either way, there have been too many benefits, so I am sticking with this as long as it keeps working!

Coconut Oil, Baking Soda

I'm convinced that a lot of the body odor we experience comes from the residue of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and other chemicals left on our skin. (70% of the oxygen we comes in comes through the skin and not the lungs. ) By switching to natural alternatives (borax and baking soda), after a year, I could wear the same socks for four or five days and no one would know it. If I'm right, I've uncovered a pretty sly business model--more soap, more body odor, more deodorants, more soap and even more body odor. In the past, it was common to wash your hair once a month. I'm convinced people didn't walk around smelling like they were living on the street.
