I'm sorry I am a person who had to have surgery and suffered from constipation all my life. Honey at the end of the day it is diet diet diet. I would only move once a week at most times. I had "poop envy"...lol of my husband. I started following the rave diet and now i can 2 or 3 times a day. Beets Beets Beets is all i can say along with the ACV and just plain water but most of all it is diet. If you are that constipated like I was you were eating crap..i was or you are eating meat...i was. MY body could not digest meat and processed foods. By this time I had had enough of both to last me a life time. Don't miss'em... I like poopin' more... "Don't hate me 'cause I poopin"...lol. I chase a good movement like methheads chase a high. Start looking for what works for you and don't stop until you do you'll find that thing that works for you. BEETS BEETS BEETS oh yeah and cayenne honey and lemon, ginger and ACV all in one good warm cup of water. drink lots of water. Seriously, I know your plight but you have to change that diet to change your life... best of luck...
Coconut Oil

I had candida, and one of my symptoms was constipation -- I was lucky if I had BM or went to toilet once in 4 days. And my stools were painful, dry and hard. As part of my own protocol to both kill the candida as well as to get rid of my constipation, I took 1 tbspns virgin coconut oil 3 times a day in my coffee or raw. I also alkalized at different times daily, using Ted's baking soda alkalizing remedies.
The effect of the coconut oil and baking soda can be explained like this. When the ingested coconut oil moves from the stomach to the duodenum, the pancreas squirts out its enzymes for digestion in bicarbonate solution into the duodenum. The bile from the liver breaks the coconut oil down into small droplets and the excess alkaline bicarbonate from the pancreas combines with the coconut oil to make a form of "soap" that greatly aids in passage of faeces down the intestines. But if you are lacking in bicarbonates stored in your pancreas or the food you eat is too acid, then you will need to increase your bicarbonate intake to increase this store.
I would normally take the coconut oil directly before or directly after meals. I would take the Baking soda remedy (any will do from this site), either one hour before or 2 hours after meals.
This had quite an effect, my stools soon became smaller and much softer as a result, and after a few months of this protocol, I became regular again, with BM every day.
It was, therefore, a combination of both taking coconut oil and increasing my bicarbonate intake(Baking Soda) that helped cure my own constipation problem.
Flaxseed

I've had so much benefit from this website that it is now time to contribute myself. I was severely constipated as a teenager. I went to the toilet once or twice a week at the most. As an adult I changed my diet to include more fibre and the problem corrected itself. However, after the age of 40 it crept back despite being on a rigorous healthy diet. I tried many things but the thing that helps reliably is 2 tablespoons of golden flaxseed a day. I simply mix the flaxseed into my food at night.
Honey With Olive Oil, Oranges

I just want to tell people that if they are severely constipated, that three or four tablespoons of honey can get your bowels moving, but they will move easier if you add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil or any good oil, such as sunflower or safflower oil to the honey as well. And something else that usually will do the trick is two or three oranges ate one after the other. I used the honey method on a relative who had not had a bowel movement in over a week. After the dosage his bowels moved that evening!
Fermented Food

It would seem internal healing of the digestive system/gut, is the key and I've been greatly helped by bringing fermented foods into my diet. I had used coffee in the a.m. for years as my "motivator". Finally caught up with me. It's a horrible crutch that requires always having access to coffee and cream wherever I went. It stopped working and I went through 10 days of being a human sewage lagoon. In my web research I came across this site and the saltwater remedy got me going although I had to gag it down. I realized a new and longterm solution was required. My naturopath suggested introducing fermented foods into my diet as a long term solution.

I tried Donna's suggestion on acupressure and it works!!! I rub not only my stomach but where my colon is. Also I found taking 2 tbsp. of molasses morning and night followed by acv in tea and then the acupressure works every time for me. I don't have to sit on the crapper for 15 minutes anymore.

A very good remedy for constipation and heartburn is: peel and core apples (sweet or sour) put them in a freezer ziploc bag (add 1 tablespoon of bottled lemon juice 2 tablespoons of water/gal. bag) and freeze. They come out like really good applesauce and are well worth the time spent. Here in Ohio when winter rolls around the apples are 3x the price and have no flavor. If you suffer from chronic constipation and heartburn they will especially help if you eat before bedtime. Hope this helps someone. God Bless.

Make sure if you rub your stomache that you do it in a clockwise motion. Rubbing counter clockwise can result in increased constipation and can cause problems with your intestines.

I found that I cured my constipation by eliminating dairy. I have been constipated since I was a baby. I eliminated dairy to consider it a possibility for fibroids but to my surprise I was cured of constipated. I have never been without constipation for 21 days without any aids.

Hi. What I discovered years ago is a simple yet very effective and natural trick to be rid of constipation.
In the early evening (taken early in the day, you'll feel painful cramps) I eat 1 apple. By morning I have a very good BM. The 2nd night I have one more apple and usually the problem is gone.
IF this doesn't work at all over the first night; the 2nd evening I eat 2 apples.... for me its guaranteed it does work in the morning. Repeat the 2nd night too.
Apples are Fabulous for many reasons.

I always tend to forget about this easy remedy... but I swear a regular serving of fresh cut watermelon does the trick every single time... in less than an hour or so. I have had chronic constipation and GERD for years. I'll have to remember to eat my watermelon a few times a week!

Club Soda cure, I have been using ordinary club soda for many years now for urinary infection, burning sensation on urination and also constipation. I am a homeopath and I suggest this remedy to my clients it work magic each time.
On reading the ingredients in club soda I notice that the main ingredient is sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, potassium sulphate( potassium sulphate is known as Kali sulp) a homeopathic tissue salt for urinary infection detox and diabetes, other ingredients
they also add carbonated water for the fizz. Try two eight ounce glass daily, you may add lemon for addition flavour.
Please let me know if other individuals have this experience.
Olive Oil and Orange Juice

Have been constipated for 7 days as a side effect of medicine for headaches. I tried 1/2 c. olive oil and 1/2 c of orange juice. 2 hours later, no bm but I was gagging and vomited. It takes a lot to make me vomit. I may never be able to taste olive oil again. Still coming up in burps. Sorry so graphic. Maybe this remedy would work for someone that doesn't already have a slow intestinal motility.

I have had gastric bypass surgery and as a result when I eat things I am not supposed to, I often become constipated. Whenever this happens I grab a bag of baby spinach and make myself a salad. Within a few hours, I'm ready to get down to business!! I also stay 'regular' by drinking 2 tsp of ____ _____ in room temperature water every morning (on an empty stomach). This is the powder form of juiced barley grass but it does contain Maltodextrin.
Flax Seeds, Apple Cider Vinegar, Dates

I found the following mixture worked well for my constipation problem, hope it will help others. Bring two cups of water to a boil and add two tablespoons of flax seeds, continue to boil for fifteen minutes, then strain off the flax seeds and discard seeds ,allow mixture to cool somewhat, it will be jelly like, add one teaspoon of apple cider vineger and stir. Drink one cup of this on an empty stomach one to two times a day depending on severity of constipation. If very constipated, be sure to also drink three cups of hot water through out the day. I have found a more pleasent remedy for mild constipation or just to stay regular try the following: Boil one cup of water and add six dates, allow to soak, when cool, drink the liquid and eat the dates. Take at bedtime for best results. Good health to all and A HUGE THANK YOU TO EARTH CLINIC.

Hi everyone, ACV does work and it has helped me in various situations. I mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in honey and I take one or two teaspoonfuls before or after meal once or twice a day. It clears my sore throat, soothes my tummy aches, made me lose weight, opened my sinuses during cold. Please do not overtake acv. Be moderate. I've been constipated and I've had two difficult b-movements ending in harsh stool and slight bleeding due to stretching of tissue. When I eat pumpkin pitas, I go next morning and stool is softened. Pumpkin is good, but not too much bread. Pumpkin pitas are found at Spanish and Mexican bakeries. It's a great snack and heals prostate problems, bladder, low in calories, high in betas, rich in potassium. It's no wonder, I always feel good after I eat pumpkin pitas. God bless and take care.:)
Water

Constipation: I spoke with a naturopathic doctor who said that ACV is great in limited amounts. Said that when you take too much, the stomach stops producing its own acid; it regulates itself to the acv and may produce smaller amounts which may account for constipation. I have personally found that drinking a lot more water can regulate my bowels more than anything else. Water is the key. I met a lady who said she drank about 2 gallons of water a day and lost 50 lbs she was carrying, mostly around her stomach. That's all she did. When I saw her later in the year she said her doctor told her to cut down on the water as it was flushing her nutrients out as well which was making her feel extremely tired. Cutting back to a gallon a day worked for her.
