GSE totally and completely healed diverticulitis by using it 2-3 days straight 8 drops 3 X day .. I suffered for years and found this on EC and started that night then for 2 days. That was in 2012 and I have never had another attack since and today is 8-7-21 .. no one believes me but that is the truth.

I have had diverticulitis for years. It flares up a couple times a year BAD. I go to Dr. I get cipro and flagyl. Last few times did not help. So I read about the apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper drink here.

2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in 10 oz of water. (Stanley from Huntingdon, Pa)

It worked in an hour. I would have paid $100 the night before to sleep and not hurt. I just couldn't. Pepto, Advil nothing helped. Then I read this. It worked. I'm still sore from 5 days of hurting but this mix is real deal. I mean it was that noticeable that quick. It's awful tasting. But worth the $10 I spent on acv and pepper

I got diverticulitis after I introduced elk meat into my diet ( elk meat is very lean) while living in Montana one spring 10 yrs ago. That summer went I on a camping trip(to oregon) and took elk jerky, a 5 pound bag of almonds and in the mornings would pick wild blackberries and eat almonds and jerky thru the day, within a week started getting pains and ended up in the ER , ( no help @ ER- gave me maalox).

Desperate for relief I visited a healthfood store in Brookings, OR and the kind store owner, (after asking me what I had been eating) quickly told me that the combination of elk, berries &almonds was causing diverticulitis. She then brought a tall bottle of Aloe Vera juice, some papaya juice & papaya tablets and told me to just start drinking the Aloe and to eat papaya tablets before each meal from now on - was cured within a few days. Free advice that saved me from more useless Dr. appts. and a lifetime of recurring problems.

I was really saddened when I met people who had had sometimes 5 surgeries for diverticulitis in Montana where elk is plentiful after that.... Once again -another example of medical community failing to help with something as simple as Aloe Vera juice & papaya for this awful, painful & sometimes life threatening condition. Even though I would tell people about this simple solution... They opted for believing their Dr.s advice that they needed surgery - after all Dr.s being a gift from God and all, win some, lose some "wisdom never lies" -Homer... Now I always check earthclinic before making a Dr. appt. to see if I can heal myself.

I had a severe case of diverticulitis and was hospitalized for several days. The surgeon told me I needed colon surgery. Once released from the hospital, I started drinking 3 glasses per day of aloe vera juice (I bought the gallon jugs from Trader Joes as they are the least expensive) and began taking Turmeric extract (800 mg. Capsules) -- I took 3 capsules morning, noon and night, washed down with aloe vera juice. I also increased my fiber intake (there is a psyllium husk and oat cereal that is loaded with fiber, but you could also just mix a tablespoon of psyllium husks in a Tall glass of water, stir and drink quickly). Long story short, I healed my diverticulitis, the fistula that appeared on CT scan disappeared and the surgeon informed me I no longer needed colon surgery. That was 2 and 1/2 years ago and I have never had another problem with my colon. I still drink aloe vera a few times a week and continue taking 3 capsules of Turmeric daily (the 800 mg ones) and eat the high fiber cereal a few times per week.

I told a friend of mine who had been suffering from ulcerative colitis for 6 months without relief despite a multitude of prescription meds and he tried the combination I described above (he said he also added Boswellian for inflammation) and within 4 weeks he was given a completely clean bill of health from his doctor.

Hope this helps anyone suffering from colon problems!!! I told my doctor and my surgeon and both were very impressed with the natural healing method and just wanted to know how I had thought of that combination. It did not surprise either that it actually worked!

Several years ago I had diverticulitis to the extent that I just wanted to die. Somewhere I read about Apple Cider Vinegar and cayenne pepper.

This is the formula I used - 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in 10 oz of water. In two hours I was feeling better. Using this formula for 3 days totally eliminated this problem. I have been using the Apple Cider Vinegar and cp for at least 10 years and it has fixed many other problems. Wishing you well.

My elderly mother had an acute case of diverticulitis. From July 2007 to July 2008 she was taken to the emergency room six times. Just around the 5th day of every other month (a two-month frequency) she would get an attack: First starting with a minor discomfort on the lower left side of her abdomen and gradually gaining intensity as the days went by up to the point she couldn't walk or do just about anything. Repeated tests, hospitalization and antibiotics were taking a toll on my mother, who otherwise is an energetic and enthusiastic 75 year-old person. Two meetings with a team of surgeons at her hospital, and the consensus was the removal of her entire colon. My mother though there was no other option. I though otherwise, since I educated myself about the disease and knew there could be other venues. I placed the surgeons on-hold while I experiment with different diets for my mother (none of them worked). I knew that the overgrowth of bad bacteria on her colon was a mayor factor. Now, if I only could kill them all.

Until I found this site. The testimony of "M F" (from Mineral Wells, Texas) was the key. I spent so much time reading about Grapefruit Seed Extract that I became convinced, this was worth a try. To all of you suffering from this condition read this with all your hope because I am not making this up: MY MOTHER STARTED TAKING THIS REMEDY LATE JULY OF 2008 AND AS OF THIS WRITING (MAY 29, 2009) SHE HAS NOT HAD ANY ATTACK (I myself am getting goosebumps as I say this), and she has been the person I'm always accustomed to see: energetic, active and in good humor.

Thanks to MF, thanks to this website, thanks to the Internet, thanks to the Supreme Being I believe in for giving me the opportunity to find this wonderful, natural medicine called Grapefruit Seed Extract. Please feel free to contact me if you need more information. I'm willing to share as much as possible.

I hope yu have a few minutes to read thru this. I've tried to keep it brief, but that's just not possible when praising ACV! There are NUMEROUS instances where ACV came to the rescue!!

1) I discovered ACV when my stomach ulcer was SO bad, every breath hurt, smoking just burned my stomach and, after eating, pain was constant. I was drinking liquid antacid straight from the bottle every few minutes.

A vegan friend told me that stuff was WORSE for me than the ulcer. He fixed an 8 oz glass of water with equal parts of ACV and honey (2 Tbs each; more honey if needed). By the time I took the THIRD swallow, I could feel the pain and pressure lessening like bubbles bursting inside. I started making it by the gallon (1/2 Cup ACV, 1/2 Cup honey and fill jug with water). Keep it in the fridge and shake before serving. I drank a glassful 30 minutes after EACH meal. In LESS than a month, I was symptom free and have had no problem since. I still smoke, I eat any/everything I want and no problems. I've fixed it for many, many people with acid reflux, chronic indigestion and diverticulitis. Every one of them was able to get off prescription meds within 3-4 weeks. (There's an additional regimen for curing diverticulitis. I'll send it in another time).

I started reading about ACV and found it balances Ph: if you're too acidic, it makes yu more alkaline and vice-versa....

Had a horrible attack of diverticulitis! The pain was excruciating. If you've had it before, you know! I could not ear, drink, sleep or eliminate. I went to God in prayer and asked for relief. Every good and perfect gift is from Him. GSE is a good gift from above! I purchased the NutiBotic brand from Sprouts for about $13. I took 10 drops in water in the morning and another 10 drops in water in the evening. By the morning of the second day I was 80% better. By the end of day 2 I felt human again! I continued with the same amount on day 3 for maintenance sake. I am back to normal now with a few changes to my diet just to give my intestines a break and cleansing.

GSE works. Don't be skeptical or afraid to use it. What usually takes several days or sometimes a week or 2 to heal, took only a day or 2 with the GSE! Thank you Heavenly Father❤

Came back from vacation- eating too much BBQ and got hit with an acute case of Diverticulitis/pain in abdomen, upper left Quadrant, right below my ribs/under my ribs a bit. Read some posts and the editors pick post was very helpful and followed it and my pains were all gone in 2-3 days with now maintaining if I feel anything.

I took 200-300 mg of the Grapefruit seed extract 2 x a day - about 500 mg thruought the day total-

I got it quickest in a capsule form - so I opened up the capsules and poured the content into water with some electrolyte flavored power (I use Ultima powder)

Also I used Jarrow NAG - 2 x a day

Drank Aloe Vera Juice as recommended - about 2 ounces, 3-4 x a day

1-2 Dropperful of Slippery Elm Bark liquid

Almost immediately after using the 1st round of GFSE, I felt relief a bit - within 48/60 hours of starting this regimen I am pain free and eating again. Was doing mainly liquids, fruits and cooked veggies. Now after 4-5 days of no pain, I'm back to fairly normal with chicken and other foods. Haven't had any Beef, Brisket or BBQ yet! Def feel like the GFSE was the main component that helped but all 4 things played a part. I also take digestive enzymes daily as a routine and a variety of supplements Wow! Gotta thank this thread and EarthClinic - My go to place anytime I have health related issues!

I found out about GSE after stumbling upon this site. I was originally diagnosed with acute Diverticulitis at the beginning of January, and was placed on a 10-day regimen of Levaquin and Flagyl- of which I completed. It took a good 7 days on both antibiotics for the pain to go away. After the cycle, I switched to a high-fiber diet, per recommendations from the Dr. I thought I was free and clear, and finally in "maintenance mode."

Fast-forward almost a month after my first flare up, I had a second- and more severe, flare up the first week of February. Since I had just completed a cycle of two strong antibiotic/antifungal, I did not want to go through a second cycle, at the risk of developing C-Diff. So I purchased some GSE, Slipper Elm extract, and Aloe Vera juice to try instead.

I've been taking 12 drops of GSE mixed with 1 full dropper of slippery elm into 8oz water- 3 times daily. In addition, I am drinking 5 oz. of aloe vera juice once in the morning. Just as the antibiotics, it took a good 7 days for the pain to completely resolve. But as I already mentioned, this flare-up was MUCH worse than the first one. As far as I can tell, the natural combo of GSE, Slippery Elm, and Aloe Vera juice works AT LEAST as well as the antibiotics; and they won't mess up my gut like antibiotics will.

I'm planning to stick with the aforementioned dosage until I've completed 10 days; then I will decrease to just one dose of GSE and aloe vera juice per day for maintenance. I think I've found a winner to keep this under control moving forward!

WONDERFUL SHAKE RECIPE that WORKS! incorporates a lot of ingredients mentioned here.

My husband and parents have both suffered from diverticulitis and this has worked for all of them...

1 hour BEFORE you eat OR 1.5 hours AFTER you eat, drink the following shake once in morning and once at night.

Ingredients:

  • 1 dropper of papaya extract (note: if you only have the pill then continue on and I will address this at the bottom)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 TBS organic honey (for taste and soothing properties)
  • 12 drops of GSE (grapefruit seed extract)
  • 1 dropper of slippery elm
  • 1/3 cup aloe vera juice/gel
  • 1/2 cup ice

Put all in a blender, blend and drink.

After you drink your shake, take a probiotic and 800mg of turmeric gelcap. Also if you didn't have the papaya extract then take the papaya pill now.

Has anyone had diverticulitis symptoms continue for more than a couple months? Mine have improved but are still there even though milder. Sometimes just moving causes discomfort sort of a soreness or just a very mild pain

. I've been using GSE drops for two weeks twice a day, was doing three and cut down because things had improved and then tried once a day but went back to two because I thought the symptoms might be increasing again, how long do you use the drops, and how long are they safe? I still haven't added many foods back in so mostly I'm still on a softer low fiber diet, it's hard to tell if a food I've tried to add back in is causing a problem since I still have mild symptoms? Anyone had this continue so long?

Apple cider vinegar is a life saver. I took it on my last bout of diverticulitis. It helped. It has digestive enzymes in it. Organic acv is about the only one you should consume to get the best benefits.

GSE and N-A-G

I don't usually make many posts, but after years of use of this life changing supplements, I felt like it was time to put in some positive reinforcement for the use of GSE and N-A-G for diverticulitis treatment.

I have had diverticulitis bouts for years. I have been in the hospital 2 times, and bedridden many more times. I have tried many, many remedies. Some of these remedies showed a bit of promise, but never really gave the feeling that they directly addressed my issues. Notably, probiotics for preventive. Oil of oregeno for symptoms was my most effective combatant against my issues, until one day I stumbled on a huge string of posts about using GSE as well as NAG to combat Diverticulitis. That day I ordered NutriBiotics GSE and Jarrow N-A-G. 2 days later, during one of my worst infections I started taking both of these products. By the next morning, the difference was night and day. So much so that I was intending on going to the hospital if I wasn't better. Since then, I have used GSE and N-A-G to address Diverticulitis infections with 100% success for years!

I should note that Both the hospital resident, as well as my primary care told me that I would likely need surgery "Due to the progression of my Diverticulitis". Not the clinical version of what they said, but you get the point.

My personal treatment:

During infection/flare up: 2 250mg GSE pills twice a day, 1 700mg N-A-G twice a day.

When I feel a weird pain in my gut that may lead to something worse: 1 250mg GSE pill once a day for 3 days

For me, I feel that N-A-G is less important. GSE is the big player here. But I swear by the combo when I need to stamp out the issue ASAP.

Just thought I would share something that has changed my life and IMO needs much more visibility in the world of diverticulitis treatment!

Hi everyone.

I have had pain in my left side on and off for a year and sometimes felt like I had a fever, shaking, nausea, bowel problems, and now affecting my bladder. etc. My G.P had only ever done urine tests but they have been normal. I think I have diverticulitis and I'm waiting for a scan to be done to confirm or not.

After reading the comments here, I have been taking Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) @10 drops x 3 times a day plus aloe vera high strength and slippery elm for 3 weeks, which I feel is just keeping me stable until I get a diagnosis. I'm now just taking the GSE and each time I reduce it to twice a day I start to feel not well again. ( infection symptoms)

I have changed my diet. I am eating porridge, some fruits and lots of veg. I can tolerate fish if not oily, but not meat. I only drink water or herbal tea. I take probiotics

How long is it ok to take the GSE for at full dose and is there anything else I need to do, please?
