Afternoon Fatigue

I would try leaving out the bread and the yogurt. If you notice a difference in a few days, try adding one back, give that a few days. If you don't notice a difference, add the other item. Some people don't digest gluten or dairy very well and the body has to work harder. Try some chicken or maybe sardines with a salad, I bet you'll feel more alert. Good Luck

It's the pretzels and the wheat bread. Find snacks and lunch items that don't contain wheat. Also if your yogurt had any sugar added, it will add to the effect.

Hi Judy, All the starch that you are eating is making you tired, try having more protein & you will not have the slump, protein & salad will sustain your energy.

Hi Judy, Could be the bread. Do you use mayonnaise? Yogurt is not as good for you as advertised. Check out the ingredients and Google MSG for a menu about "truth" and what has happened to our food supply. We have been inundated with genetically modified food that is hard to digest. Try to avoid anything that contains soy or corn.

Judy, I agree with the others on the sugar and breads. Bread will act on your metabolism very similarly to sugar, meaning that it gets absorbed in to your blood quickly and lead to the famous "spike and crash."
And generally most of the population has a hard time digesting Gluten and Casin (the proteins in wheat and milk).
Of course this fatigue could also be symptomatic of an underlying condition. Do you get it at any other times?
Just a thought but for myself, Wheat makes me sleepy. Try changing out the wheat bread for a different kind. I don't know if you drink while you eat but if you do, maybe try not to. Drinking 30 minutes or more before your meal stimulates digestive enzymes and acids while drinking during a meal actually dilutes them. This forces your body to work harder to digest the meal you ate. It's a tough one but it could be your answer. Good luck!

Hello. I am reaching out for help. Last month I had a hida scan done which resulted in everything functioning normally. Last year I had a endoscopy done which showed acute gastritis. Went to see a different Gastro Dr. who has me taking a ppi which I think is contributing to flu like aches. Before that I had and still have this pain that won't go away in upper right chest thru shoulder. It is constant, most days I have to take acetomeniphen or the like for the pain in order to sleep. I clinch my teeth because of the pain and now that hurts. I am tired all the time and I am getting to the point where I don't feel like doing anything on my days off from work. My thoughts are foggy, I feel I am one big ache.
Sorry to be whining. I have tried the apple cider vinegar/baking soda a while back which helped the acid reflux but the pain was still there. I also did the lemon/lime and baking soda with water in the mornings to achieve a ph (pain still there). I am talking in circles here I know. Please, your imput is greatly appreciated. Should I go for more tests etc.? What to do.

Try Quecertin for aches. May take up to 6 wks, but it works. Take 2,500mg/day. I used to take 1 in the morning, 1 in the evening. Now I just take 1/day for maintenance.

Speak to a naturopath or nutritionist. Chances are you have a deficiency in a specific vitamin or mineral. I bet you could correct your chest pain with a change to your diet and lifestyle. Drugs just create new problems as you already know.

I empathize with anyone who has this problem. I know this is late in coming but I'd lie to give my personal experience with acute 1-shoulder pain. I have spoken to SO many people who have this problem. For my father-in-law, eliminating milk did the trick. For me, it was eliminating my allergy to wheat, corn and milk which was not only causing this pain but bloating, eyesight degineration, weight gain, itching, hair loss and a host of other problems. I say, fix YOUR diet; fix your pains. After totally eliminating the big 3 from my diet, my pain gradually subsided to none at all. This took about 8-9 days. If I eat any one of these 3 foods on consecutive days, the pain re-establishes into my right shoulder, chest, and now my forearm. So if doctors can't figure it out, look to your diet. Starting with a a basic meat, fruit and veggie diet for a while may eliminate the pain; then, adding back (one at a time) grains, milk & even sugar and corn syrup - will show what food is triggering this excruciating pain. Don't give up, your answer is waiting for you - you just need to believe that you can solve this problem.

Dr. Hulda Clarke states in her books that shoulder pain is caused by gallstones which she advises using her liver cleanse to treat. I personally have done her parasite, and liver cleanse and can state that it did get rid of my severe shoulder pain.
Her books, like The Cure for all Diseases describes how to do the cleanses (the parasite cleanse is done first), and essentially cure yourself. I don't agree with all of her views, but I do agree with her parasite, liver and kidney cleanses as being a very large step toward healing thyself. Hope this helps.

I'm a firm believer in ACV. However I too sometimes don't drink it daily (busy life and kid) and sometimes slack off. After day 1 back on it I felt 50% better. Less congestion and less fatigue.
Day 2: about 70% better.
Day 3: good as new.
I wouldn't say it gives me energy but it's more like it just makes me feel fully awake and alert and I just feel good and I FEEL HEALTHY again. I go to work and in the afternoons I am back to being super mom with no dragging exhaustion. I can just get up and do things again without that constant fatigue feeling. Getting groceries isn't a daunting task. Laundry gets done and put up. It's been 3 weeks now since I've been back to the ACV and after this horrible last run of being tired and sickly I will NOT slack off again and I keep several bottles of it and leave a bottle on my counter so there is no more "outta sight outta mind".
Here is my routine:
First I drink an 8oz glass of just room temp water after I wake up. Then I put about a tablespoon of ACV in 12oz of WARM water (mixes better in warm water and helps take away the vinegar taste - also I dilute it a bit more by using 12oz instead of 8oz water) and sip that every few minutes while I'm getting ready for work in the morning. If I drink it fast it can upset my stomach so I have found it better to not chug it all at once. Occasionally I'll add a teaspoon of raw organic honey but most mornings just the ACV diluted in warm water. I don't care what anyone else says. I found what has worked for me and I am sticking to it.
My only suggestion to anyone who says it upset their stomach would be to try diluting it a bit more like I did and/or try sipping that warm mixture while you get ready for work or do any kind of morning routine instead of chugging it all at once.
Thank you Earth Clinic. I've been a long time lurker but finally wanted to share what ACV has done for me personally and how much my overall well being has improved since back on it.

I have been suffering from fatigue for several months now. Actually longer. But, it's gotten worse. My husband has pretty much given up on our house being clean. He (my hubby) found this sight on Sunday while searching for ways to help our sick cat. I started reading up on the apple cider vinegar uses and started using the drink for energy on Tuesday. I didn't search deep enough to find out that the vinegar should be the unpasterized kind with the "mother" in it. I did use the basic store brand kind and started feeling better by the second day. This is the fourth day and I do feel better. The past two days are the first in months that I haven't felt like I needed a nap desperatly. I bought some of the vinegar with the "mother" in it today. So, we'll see how it goes. I'm so thankfull that we found this websight. Now, if only my cat would get better...
Thanks ACV

I used to have fibromyalgia. I no longer have it. I read a book called A More Excellent Way. The information helped me be free of the pain and the root of the problem. Now I have more control of my life! I have been sleeping better but still have a little fatigue. Where can I buy the unpasteurized ACV?

I hope your cat is better...Try using the Apple Cider Vinegar on your cat, I did! About a 1/4 Teaspoon mixed with 1/2 teaspoon water mixed together and rub it on your cat's fur and your cat will lick it off. I rubbed Coconut oil on my cat's fur today, not that much but just enough and he licked it off. If Apple Cider Vinegar and Coconut Oil is good for people, it is also good for animals! I read up on this on this site first to make sure!

It sounds like Fibromialgia (sp?) that you are suffering from. The best cause I've been able to find is MSG (MonoSodium Glutimate), a horrible additive that is in every kind of food. The thing that helps with Fibromualgia is a supplement/medicine called Guaifenesin, the main ingredient in cough syrup. The Guaifenesin by itself works better. Also, cut out all the MSG you can.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
I've been doing ACV 2TBS in 2 cups of water with 1/4 TSP baking soda. How can you do this? My acid reflux is about to kill me. I've been doing this for 5 days. How long do you do this, forever? Should I use less vinegar and no baking soda? The positive is my diareah is less and my skin looks better already. I'm not as tired, but the stomach....ouch. Please give suggestions, I believe, I just need somekind of adjustment. Thanks.

Diana, the reflux could be due to the fact that baking soda is alkaline, and a person's stomach is supposed to be pretty acidic.
Try taking the ACV with no baking soda to see if it keeps the acid reflux down.
On another note, does anybody know the explanation to why ACV and baking soda gives so much energy? I'm curious about the scientific facts. Any book recommendations would be great.

Hi Jane, I was interested to see the VERY strong dose of ACV you have been taking. I haven't found the usual dose of 2 Tbsp to 8 ozs water to have any effect on my fatigue so thought to try your remedy today in case I needed a bigger boost. (Your remedy being 8 times the usual recommended amount of ACV)
I intend to try this for a week, but I have to say I chickened out of 1/2 cup ACV and used 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup water and 1/2 tsp BS. There was a bit of burn going down but it didn't last long. The main thing was an immediate feeling of nausea though it faded away after 10 mins. I will keep at this level for a week, see how it goes and maybe up the dose next week. Cheers, Catherine

I have written a number of posts, but no one has responded. I foolishly, changed my screen name and city/country in the hope that folks would think I was someone different and would respond. I was not trying to decieve any one . I am just despearate for help and did no know what else to do. I humbly apologize.
I need help with horrific pain in my neck and shoulders and also foot etc. Under the skin it feels gravelly and broken up;massage seems to exacerbate it. It feels kind of crispy, crusty, crunchy-its not visible though- It feels like hot fiery needles and the pain is constant and excruciating.
I do not do well with vinegar and feel worse after drinking it as it is fermented I am also unbeliveably tired and generally wake around 3 am. My digestion is not good and I feel physically toxic and full of sullenness and resentment.
Please have compassion and help.
Thanks, serach

My suggestion for you is to read on your own and don't be afraid to experiment with natural products instead of expecting to find someone with the exact same symptoms you have.
This will no doubt provide you with good basic knowledge of the human body enough over time to eventually find a cure to your unfortunate illness.
Start with this site in the ailments section and look for people who have experienced similar symptoms related to your illness and then go from there.
Change your eating habits towards a healthier one, try various types of supplements one at the time and then listen to what your body is telling you in response. The fact that you are still breathing and have not been diagnosed with terminal cancer means you have a very good chance of fighting your disease.
Wish you best of luck!!

Hi Serach... Your mood problems, insomnia, lack of energy, digestive problems and possible excess calcium in your diet and blood problems all lead me to suspect certain things. You seem to have mineral defficiencies, heavy metal in excess etc. Many of your symptoms also suggest low thyroid and even possible candida issues.
My suggestion is for you to confirm your problems by going to a naturopath and first getting a hair analysis test. This will tell tou what minerals you are lacking and what heavy metals and halides you have in excess in your body. Then get yourself tested for candida as well.
The graininess of you blood is also a worry. This suggest liver or possible kidney insufficiencies. You can confirm this by having a full blood/urine test.
If you do have candida issues then have a look at the anti-candida protocol with diet which is shown at this link:
https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/candida.html#BILLS
This protocol consists of body detox, minerals, anti-oxidant immune boost, candida attack remedies and a diet.

Welcome to the club, (20 yrs) after yrs of massage, heat, accupuncture, psychobabble, a bunch of things that made it worse, trying all the docs meds, ALL the stuff around on fibro and cfs. The pain never stops. I have to take the morphine or Id do myself in. Can I suggest a hair analysis to see if you can get more of an insight as to whats going on. What about asking the doc for a virus panel? I am conscious of my liver so try to go real easy on the drugs. 1/2 an endep takes the pain back a few notches AND is good for sleep. I never slept in my life until I took that. Guanefesin helps with the pain for awhile if you want something more natural. email me if you want.

If you're feeling tense, lethargic, foggy headed, indecisive, digestively unsound try taking a chlorophyll algae supplement, or making wheatgrass juice. Apparently wheatgrass is the same as quackgrass/crabgrass? Just go into the back 40 and pick a bunch (providing there are no chemicals/pesticides etc back there..), the roots are good too. Put it through the blender with some water, pour it onto a towel over a bowl and squeeze the juice/water out. Or you can get a juicer like I eventually did. Well worth the $250. Run some dandelions through roots and all, too. Dandelion root tea helps a lot, too. Tea two or three times a day, a full glass of juice once or twice a day.

Thanks Nicola from the UK! I'm 39 yrs old with a long case of ailments and terrible fatigue. I'm always trying to take anything that will give me energy, with no luck. Somehow I stumbled on to this site, and was reading about how cocounut oil taking by mouth can give you energy along with other helpful uses. I really want to try this. And Already use Coconut Oil for oil pulling. I was wondering, for energy are you using the solid form? Just Eat a tablespoon of that?
Thanks!

Coconut oil in solid form is kinda nasty...
That said, coconut oil and I get along wonderfully! I eat roughly 5 tablespoons a day, and no it is not a laxative. :)
The reason it's so great for energy is because the medium chain triglycerides (the type of fat in coconut oil) is instantly usable by the cells in our body for energy. The mitochondria can eat it up right away.
This kind of fat is very, very healthy and has all kinds of other benefits as well, including digestive, brain, and nervous system boosts!

I just read in a book that fats like this help your body absorb nutrients. People on low-fat diets, the nutrients slip right through and never get absorbed. So what you might be experiencing is just your body ACTUALLY absorbing things like its supposed to.
