I have genital herpes and I don't have health care, so when I start to feel a burn or itch I rub hawiian tropic with aloe into the spots that hurt. If I catch it in time it will stop it from breaking out or it won't be as severe. Mind u this is an every day application. Apply accordingly.

I was diagnosed in 1985 with GH, I have found that Echinacea has reduced attacks to once a year. When I get the first signs of an attack I take 20 drops in water 3 times a day, after 2 days its gone. I have also noticed that attacks are very much related to stress and that daily meditation has helped me a great deal in reducing attacks.
Hydrogen Peroxide

I suffered greatly from genital herpe
s on a regular basis until I tried hydrogen peroxide. I was in the painful blister stage when I first tried it, and applied H2O2 with a cotton ball to the area, almost "scubbing" the blisters down because they were so painful and the area was so itchy. Miracle of miracles--it relieved the pain and itch almost immediately, and the next day the problem was reduced by 95%.
Now if I have an outbreak I usually ignore it until it gets uncomfortable, then apply the H202. It seems to be most effective when blisters have formed or are at least beginning, but I have also found I could prevent it from reaching that point by applying earlier.
Knowing that it is easy to fix once it gets worse, I usally can't be bothered to get out the hydrogen peroxide until it gets annoying. I don't pass on the chocolate or other foods that cause breakouts either anymore. I hope you will try it and that it will be a miracle for you as it has been for me.

Hi, i have read some of the feedback on your site and found it very interesting. I contracted genital herpes in 1981-2. I went to a clinic and they gave me the bad news. I asked what should i do when i get the outbreak as it was so painfull. The answer i got was "run and bath of warm water and pee it that ". mmmm very good. At that time there was no cream on the market or any other forms of treatment so it was a case of suffering for many days. I get the itch and the sore leg and the depression. But as time has gone on it has lessened and i have very few attacks so count myself luck in some respects but let me say i had my share and have sympathy with anyone who has herpes now even with all the treatments you can take. I did start to use a cream after many years called Zovirax which helped a lot.I do find or have found that a healthy diet and i don't mean drinking diet drinks and eating dietary food i mean eating veggies and drinking plenty of water seems to have helped me. I also do eat plenty of garlic and love spicy food.I also think that getting depressed about having herpes actually does not help as the depression brings on the attack. Maybe i am wrong but i feel that feeling down doesn ot help.So try and keep positive about the situation. Man it's not going to kill u unless u give it to the wrong person ahahahah.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

I have found a product called Traveler's Friend 'Citrus Seed Extract' which the health food shop assistant said he was sure was mostly Grapefruit seed extract. I tried it amongst many things I am exploring having contracted herpes. I am improving every day and continuing with oral coconut oil, colloidal silver and (carefully diluted hydrogen peroxide). The reason why I'm posting this is that I had three small blisters appear on the top of my p----. As well as all the rest of my genitals being affected this was too much. I put a drop of grapefruit seed extract on these three (they were close together). To my huge surprise within half an hour they had retreated, then got small scabs and healed far quicker than anything else has!! WARNING: I then got excited and put the gfs extract on other larger sores, and suffered severe pain which I think was a result of this. Nonetheless, the incredible speed at which the gfs extract turned those three sores (painlessly) into final phase needs to be mentioned and is surely worth exploring. I am now taking gfs extract orally (15 drops in a glass of water 3x/day and may increase)
Bbq Sauce

Hey everybody! I learned of a very strange but very effective treatment for outbreaks at a Herpes Awareness Seminar in Illinois last year. It hasn't gotten much attention as it has only come to being in the last year or so. Anyway, all you have to do is soak a little bit of BBQ sauce on the area of the outbreak. The acids from the sauce seep into your skin and neutralize the problems. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and you will feel a slight 'tingle' effect. After that, clean the area off with water and then witch hazel. This really works and came as a huge relief to me! (Just one more thing, this only works when there is an outbreak present.) Glad to help!

I caught the dreaded GH a few years ago actually from oral sex, not even a shag for the pleasure! Anyway, symptoms came regularly, each month with the usual burning sensation up my thighs, small red sores on the penis, etc - hassle is an understatement! I was 32 at the time, and it def slows you down in your tracks! Tried the usual remedies, Apple Cyder Vinegar, Bachs remedies as recommended on this site, diet change etc. I'm generally pretty fit and eat well, but to be safe I totally cut out anything with artificial sweeteners and stopped eating bananas / peanuts. By following the Organic Apple Cyder Vinegar route and the Bach route for months on end, the results were not really obvious - did lose a bit of weight though - probably the ACV and the cutting out of artificially sweetened food - also cut out booze almost completely to test the alcohol theory. All of the above may have helped slightly but it's hard to say. One thing I did notice about ACV was if you apply it directly to the sore areas with a cotton ball, or tissue - it would bring out the blisters/sores very quickly - almost instantly - maybe speeding up the clearing cycle, but once again it's hard to say if it helped. I'd also generally drink ACV twice a day, morning and evening (a lidfull in a glass of water) it's pretty good for you anyway so no harm giving it a bash.
I have not tried any doctor prescribed medicine at all - in fact on both tests at the STI clinic I came up negative for G-Herpes, amusing really, I didn't have a blood test but it shows the swab tests are scarily poor! There is no question though, it is def Genital Herpes I have.
I researched the web everywhere for help and found this site to have the most sensible suggestions and promised myself that I'd comment on here in the future. My symptoms were not as bad as the pictures you see on the web, but we're more than enough to put me off sex for a while, general inflammation of the skin near the head of the penis (redder than it should be), slightly itchy tingles like you have a pubic hair caught in your foreskin, tiny blisters which seeped a little for the first few months, these died down a bit to a less obvious soreness, but still obvious to me! As time goes by the symptoms seem to naturally slow down and come out less aggressively which makes sense - but they still appeared each month or even every few weeks. Just as I thought probably gone this time - there the usual redness/tiny sores would pop up again.
I tried using non-scented soaps - the usual high street suspects, I'd wash my penis each morning and night, but you get a bit worried about aggravating the already seemingly angry Virus so I was always cautious what I washed with! I found the Bach remedies to be a bit of a hassle, you'd end up going to the bathroom at work, putting a few drops on the areas which were aggravated, then standing there with your penis out waiting for it to dry, the Bach remedy also left you a little sticky as it is sweet, but none the less worth a try!
Anyway, cutting a long story short I was in Waitrose (English Supermarket) about 9 months back and picked up a bar of soap as part of my continuous attempt to find something that helps. The soap was made by Tisserand and is called Tisserand Organic Tea-Tree Soap. It comes in a cardboard packet and is a 100g bar of green soap. This soap which says it has "naturally antiseptic properties" seems to have worked at cutting down my symptoms, in fact it's almost eradicated them. Costs about %3 a bar. I wash my penis in the morning and evening with the soap, just lather the soap up in my hands and then wash myself with it, I also use it for the rest of my body as it's really nice soap anyway. I've not had an outbreak for ages, and the soap seemed cut outbreaks almost as soon as I started using it. It is possible that the timing of when I bought the soap coincided with my bodies natural defense to overcome the continuous virus outbreaks, (I started using it about 20 months into contracting GH - but I was still getting outbreaks roughly every 4-6 weeks at the time) but I would say it's more likely the soap does have something in it that helps massively. I can pretty much eat anything now and can go out on a drinking bender without worrying too much about the consequences.
In summary, get your body back on a healthy diet/lifestyle. Try and get good sleep hours to save you from being run down, don't go out drinking too much. If your system is run down then the virus is stronger. Cut out artificial sweeteners altogether, I didn't notice any obvious worsening as a result of consuming them, but everyone else seems to suffer so I just eliminated them from my diet - if you need sweets then eat things with natural sugars - honey sandwiches for example. Definitely try this soap Tisserand, make sure it's the bar of soap I've mentioned above as I think they do quite a few ranges in liquid form etc - I'm sure it's what helped me. I completely stopped Bachs remedies as soon as I started using the soap -they're really a bit of a hassle and people always ask you what they're for. I still drink the ACV every few days or so just because it's quite good for you, I also drink a lot of green tea as it's an excellent anti-oxidant.
It may be the amount of time I've had it, but at 20 months in I was convinced the GH was going to keep recurring regularly and was finding it was really controlling my life, I planned everything around it. Now 29 months in it's no longer really a hassle for me at all and hasn't been for the last 9 months since I first started using the soap. So my conclusion is it's either time or the soap that's done the most for me - so if it's time then there's light at the end of the tunnel for most of us, and if it's the soap then I'd recommend you at least try it - I'm not going to stop using it (ever!) - so Good luck Team H, my thoughts are with you!!!! Two other things; I also cut my pubic hair pretty short as I found it would get caught in my foreskin on occasion and cause unnecessary itching - guess that's a guy thing! And also I only wear loose cotton underwear, generally Ralph Lauren as I'm pretty cool like that ;-) Good Luck!

I found out about Stabilized Liquid Oxygen and DMSO and used both whenever I felt an outbreak coming on. I used to have between 2 and 4 outbreaks a year. I have not had a single outbreak in 2 years. They stopped after using the S.L.O. and DMSO, only when I felt an outbreak coming on, for approximately a year. I really couldn't believe it. I kept waiting for another outbreak thinking I just hadn't been stressed enough to trigger one, but 2 years later, nothing, and I've definitely had some serious, nervous breakdown, kind of stress during that period. I also told a friend of mine, who has had HSV1 since she was a kid, about it, and she used it with great success also. I tried to go back and get a blood test to see if I was "cured", but the doctor said it would be a waste of money because the virus is so illusive. She said even if you've been diagnosed it is not always present in the bloodstream. I guess this is because of the virus being either active or inactive. I also have a feeling she thought it was pointless because according to them, once you've got it, you've got it for life. I don't know if I am cured, but I will tell you, since I was diagnosed in 2000, I had never gone more than 6 months without an outbreak, and here I am 2 years, outbreak free. I am not on any medication or anything. I only used it when I first found out, and had no success with it. It seemed to actually make me break out more frequently so I stopped. If you can afford to pay for that prescription every month, giving this a shot is nothing. I don't know how it will work for others, but I wish everyone great success with it. No one deserves to live with the discomfort or emotional pain of this disease. Best of luck!

I was reading the Herpes pages, and someone mentioned to avoid foods and drinks with arginine. I think everyone should know that virtually all sex lubricants on the market contain arginine! I have not been able to find one that did not contain this, and it causes outbreaks immediately.

I've had herpes for a very long time and there's one thing that seems to trigger an outbreak without question and i know this will sound weird. the only thing that i can say deffinately causes an outbreak is splashback from the toilet. anytime i go to the restroom and there's a splash large enough to get my butt wet an outbreak will show up there within 24 hours. i'm not sure why this happens but it surely does.
Genital Herpes Triggers

Thank you all for the information regarding clearing up and preventing outbreaks. I've suffered from GH for about 10 years. I find my outbreaks are related to a latex sensitivity that I have. If I use prophylactics that are non-latex, I don't usually have much of an issue. Problem is, these products are very expensive. Also have found that excessive sugar in my diet can easily bring on an outbreak. Sun seems to counteract this. I think outbreak triggers and methods of clearing up outbreaks are very personal and different for everyone. Thank you all for sharing though, gives me possibilities to try.

This site is a blessing is all I can say. I tried almost every remedy on the site for genital herpes and they didn't work for me personally. My herpes is somewhat asymptomatic i don't have any pain just an itchy bump. Last year I had one that broke open and my doctor said it was herpes. Anyway I got another this past monday so I bought stabalized oxygen last night. I added 8 drops to a 8 oz glass of water before i went to bed. This morning the bump is almost gone and no more itch!!! I used and oxygen that also has amino acid & trace minerals. The studies and testimonials i've read about oxygenation made sense to me. I think you need to kill the virus from the inside out ... i will get tested again I pray for a negative test . Best of luck to all of you. I've also prayed alot I feel God led me to a cure.
