one thing that can cure your Hidradenitis Suppurativa is Burdock root. Take Burdock root for 3 months ( 3 times daily) and then stop for 3 months, then repeat... you will not have any problems anymore. Eat lots of read meat ( Burdock may lower iron), lots of fatty fish, limit dairy (once again because of iron absorption) and fruit + vegies. WORK OUT A LOT
Laugh a lot

Thank God for this site and for your post, Michelle! After trying so many suggestions (Tumeric, baking soda, drawing salve, etc.) Burdock root tablets have succeeded in helping my HS! I have no angry red lesions for the first time in 3 years!
That said, this isn't a complete cure. You need to figure out if you have a food intolerance (mine are excess sugar and corn) and drastically reduce those/that food in your diet. Looking into leaky gut syndrome may also be helpful (I swear by acv, kefir, and probiotics. My stomach has never been this happy). Best of luck to everyone! So encouraged and thankful to have found this site!

Mine too. Specifically corn and sugar. Going to try this ASAP.

I had trouble with genital boils for several years. It turns out they were caused by hidradenitis suppurativa. I also had a recent bout with cellulitis on my calf; that was fixed by green smoothies. Earth Clinic is my go-to for any health issue, so I've tried the turmeric, which worked the first few times but made my stink worse.
Because of the odor from boils, I used tea tree oil during showers and also applied it before dressing. It smelled great, but that didn't reduce or drain anything.
Chronic body odor and halitosis were the reason I started taking chlorophyll. They have somewhat improved since I replaced the liquid version with the gelcaps, surprisingly. Since chlorophyll fights staph, my new breakouts are small and painless even if I have starches or sweets. They also heal quickly. My memory and stamina are also improved.
I still had awful, dark scars from the cellulitis. I've had melasma on my chin for years, too. Someone here recommended hydrogen peroxide for acne scars, so I tried it. The cellulitis scar is fading, and it's only been about a week. I also use it on my elbows and knees. One elbow is showing marked improvement.
Here's the kicker. Earlier this week, I tried the peroxide on those chronic boils before bed because of intense itching. Yes, I worried that it would burn, but it didn't. They were greatly reduced in the morning. Generally, they would be painful to wash during bathing. Not anymore! Today is day four or five, and, as happened yesterday, I had a normal shower without pain. This time, I put some on the boils after the shower, and I expect they'll only improve. I'll continue putting peroxide on them at bedtime.
I also take ACV for hot flashes, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and Type 2 diabetes.
Thank you, Father! Thank you, Deirdre Layne! Thank you, Earth Clinic!

I've gained significant weight over the last two years and this led to my armpits becoming much worse. I was at a point where I would have at least 5 boils at any one time around my armpit area.
Around 3 months ago I started to apply cold pressed coconut oil onto my armpit skin once or twice a week. I initially started because I'd heard it was anti bacterial and honestly I just wanted to take away some friction.
Within a week I noticed my armpits looked less angry, and I wasn't developing new boils as quickly as "normal". And within a month my boils were down to almost nothing. I'm still like that now. I'll get maybe one or two a month, my scarring seems to be fading too, and I have less than half the blackheads I had when I started.
For the first summer in a long time I can wear cami tops, and short sleeve dresses without being embarrassed.
I haven't tried the Apple Cider Vinegar but I'll defo give that a go when next I get a boil and will update.
I'd 100% recommend coconut oil to anyone. I know it probably won't work for everyone but for me it's been an absolute game changer!

I dont know whether this was HS but the symptoms seem to sugest it was. If any one seems to get a recuring boil it might be worth a try and would be greatfull for another person reporting back on its efficacy.
The dressing was just clean absorbent toilet tissue, with eclectric tape top and bottom with a strip down the middle to stop the oil coming through onto clothing. Changed every 24 hours.

Hi Diane
My daughter also has DS and HS. You mentioned that you know of other girls with DS who also have this HS condition - I'm interested to hear more if you know anything further of the correlation etc.
We have found HS is definitely a hormonal response to adolescence. Recently, her cycle has been all over the place together with those horrible emotional outbursts. We have removed all Gluten, Dairy, Sugar and Nightshades (tomatoes, capsicum, paprika, potatoes, eggplant etc). We have a daily protocol of organic turmeric capsules - 2 daily, VitC with Zinc, Fish Oils, Probiotics, tea tree oil on lesions twice daily and homeopathic remedies. We have reduced her outbreaks significantly now with only small lumps appearing during/prior to her cycle. These are reasonably manageable when seen early. But were looking to better this if not prevent.
I'm currently looking at a herbal mix here in Australia called Happy Hormones which helps regulate the androgen hormones - which we feel may be a large contributing factor in our situation.
I will definitely add Colloidal Silver to our mix . We can get it here in Australia in our Health Food Shops.
Thank you

I'm 32 years old and I'm suffering HS for 10 years, I had read and try every antibiotic, and some natural remedies, but my worse situation now is, My husband is starting with the problem in his testicles after he started to drink ACV to lose weight? and I feel terrible and I don't knew the HS could be contagious.
every month before my period I have the ball, I'm using with good result a silver gel, the name is "colloidal silver" help me a lot to calm and restructure the skin and the ball gone after 3 days.
I hope you can try the colloidal silver.
I have try a lot remedies but the ball coming 3 or 4 months later.
I'm feel crazy because if I'm depress, sad, worry, angry even excited or happy the ball coming up, I'm can't stand my hormonal disorder.

Hi - just reading the above comment on your husband getting cysts similar to HS.
I've been an HS sufferer for many years now but this message rang an alarm bell as my husband is a testicular cancer survivor. PLEASE get the doctor to check his cysts to make sure it is not testicular cancer.
The doctor will be able to see right away if the cyst is a tumour or not.
HS is NOT contagious and his problem is unrelated so please don't feel guilty that you have given him something - you haven't.
I can't stress enough how common testicular cancer is in men or the necessity to have any lumps in the area checked. TS is a VERY fast cancer, but also one of the most survivable if you catch it fast.

In respnse to the lady that has HS and her husband now has it too...I have suffered with HS for 14 years, and i had to diagnose it myself (then my doctor said "oh you are right...UGH). anyway, I recently learned that a friend of mine suffers from what sounded to be a similar condition; however, her doctors did something that mine have NEVER done, which is to culture the bacteria. Turns out that she actually has community-acquired MRSA, which IS contagious. Oddly, my husband had a lesion on his inner thigh a few months ago and "suggested" that I was contagious (jokingly, of course). Now I'm wondering if maybe my problem is CA-MRSA, not HS, and am going to have my dr. culture my wound next time I have a flare-up that becomes severe enough to need his attention. Anyway, just thought that in addition to prior comments, this might be a good thing to have checked out as well in case it is something contagious such as MRSA, since their presentations can sometimes look similar.

I agree with you i was diagnosed with HS about 6yrs ago i have suffered with this for 10yrs i recently moved home and went to a new doctor about something unrelated (i gave up going to doctors about my HS along time ago) anyway i asked my new dc if the present condition could be related to my HS this dr took a swab and sent it away to be cultered the results have just come back today and i actually have MRSA! I'm happy and angry at the same time, that no other dr has ever done this when they have very similar symptoms im just hoping and praying now that the antibiotics i have recived today will put an end to this misery.

I have been diagnosed with both MRSA and HS. The symptoms of the lesions are slightly different, so stopping treatment for one because you think all symptoms are caused by the other might make things worse. When I have had MRSA lesions, they occur anywhere (mostly my legs or face). If they do open or drain, the drainage is thick with a greenish tint, and sometimes you can see the infection beneath the skin. When the wound is completely cleaned of bacteria, there is a definite hole where the infection was. With the HS, the lesions are boils. Just wanted to let you know that it is possible to have both (as I do)so don't neglect your HS remedies if you have a flare-up of MRSA. The MRSA antibiotics don't help with the HS at all, or at least they didn't for me. And I wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions, I've never found a better place for info about HS.

I just wanted to say that HS is NOT contagious. I have had HS for 36 years and I was married for 19 years and my husband never once had anything, my doctor also assured me that you can not pass HS so your husband had a different issue going on.

I would have to agree HS is not contagious. My first relationship was 19 yrs in that time I gave birth naturally to two children neither of my children contracted this nor my ex. Current partner for nearly 8 years and he's safe too.
