Nutritional Yeast

My grandfather took Brewer's Yeast every morning. I do not know how much he took. And I don't remember how long he took it when I noticed dark (looked black) hairs growing amongst his pure white hair. I do not believe they had nutritional yeast back then. This was around 1964. I do not know which is better, to take Brewer's Yeast or Nutritional yeast? I have not read all the posts to see if anyone answered this question. Does anyone know?

I have replaced the sugar in my coffee with BSM, and have been having it in shakes. I have been doing this for 4 days and I SWEAR my greys are already disappearing. I am shocked! Its also a LOW GI sugar, much better for you than normal processed white sugar. You can 100% replace sugar with it.

Folks, stop and think about it. We all react differently to taking the same supplements or food. Our bodies processes are unique to each one of us. We don't use things the same way. That is why when you try something for Grey Hair, what works for one person will not work for the next. To try a cure for something, you should give it a fair amount of time to work, say 3 to 6 months. If it does not work, move on to another cure, after all they are all natural and not overly expensive. Good luck finding what works for you. Don't stop until you succeed.

Vit B-12 and graying hair. I was taking B 12 (methylated and sublingual) 5000 mcg (which is rather A LOT) and since my husband was around I gave him one too. That was few days ago. Today I commented that his hair which turned silver gray more than a decade ago looked more like dark blonde than silver but I had no idea why. Tonight I came to EC for something else and found THAT connection. It worked!

Minerals

I believe all disease symptoms and degenerative aging systems start with a mineral deficiency, so minerals are always first to be added to any cure. I've seen people lose their gray hair in a year and go back to original hair color in most cases.

I am a man in my early forties with a lot of white hair (not even gray - it's stark white). As my hair is naturally black it really sticks-out. Now here is the thing: I have a brother who is 3 years older than me. I am the "healthy one" - always working out and watching what I eat whereas he drinks heavily and smokes a little, he has virtually no gray at all.

I have tried to work out why we have this difference and can think of two reasons:

1) We are both very tall but I am an inch taller and often have cold hands & feet. I reckon this means scalp circulation is also not as good.

2) My "healthy" diet of no alcohol was not as healthy as I thought. For years I was drinking diet sodas and my bro drinks beer by the case-load. Turns out beer has copper and a couple of other minerals and my diet sodas leech minerals from the body.

So now I have quit sodas some time back and am trying to get more copper in my diet. First off was BSM which may be very, very slowly working. A black spot of hair about the size of a fingernail has formed around my temple area.

Recently I have been taking a bit more powdered cocoa and the spot has turned into more of a streak of dark hair - seems to be working. Encouraged by this I am trying to eat more nuts and have even tried liver - it has to be the most disgusting thing ever but if it can help me get some hair color back I will eat it now and then.

I am also drinking a little beer these days. I have read that those who drink in moderation tend to live longer than those who drink nothing. Today I ordered some liquid chlorophyll and will add that to the diet.

I would love to hear the thoughts of the board. I hate having so much white hair at this age - it is the only thing that ages me. I really, really want to get more of my black hair back naturally.

Hello, I am 39 years old. This year, I noticed some gray hair and felt a little depressed and sad. I started taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for general well-being. I noticed my gray hairs are gone for good. Black Strap Molasses is good in term of iron and magnesium, but if you are concerned with your gray hair then ALP is the answer.

Laura, I like math, so since nobody has answered you yet, I take a stab at it. The original post says "2,000" mg Ionositol. The person who posted had 1,000 mg capsules/tablets, so I makes sense that ANY any way you get that 2,000 is fine. 2x 1,000,4x500, or so. Then after 90 days you just take 1,000 mg of Ionositol, 500 mg panthotenic acid, and 700 mg PABA.

It takes about three months of one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses, sometimes two tablespoons a day to treat grey hair. Hang in there.

There is an alkalyzing protocol by a man named moreless which uses blackstrap molasses and lemon juice and extremely diluted calcium hydroxide and water and kelp. This protocol has cured many diseases including candida even though there is sugar in the blackstrap molasses; this is due to the fact that candida cannot exist in an alkaline environment; so basically this is about creating the correct ph level in the body. Also I believe it is the lemon juice that activates the minerals in the blackstrap molasses to it can be absorbed. His protocol is on another website so I don't know if I can mention it, so try googling Moreless ph balance, or moreless alkalyzing drink of if interested contact me and I will send the recipe. Also different types of baths are included to also alkalyze, but what I am saying here is that perhaps this is a safe way to take blackstrap molasses because the body is alkalyzed and candida will not be a problem. Moreless is no longer on his old forum but has a new forum, if you can email me do so or I will check back on this post. Starhawk Houston Texas.

Wheatgrass

The best remedy for gray hair I have found is wheatgrass (juice or powder). When I started taking a combination of the juice and powder, I was shocked after a couple of weeks that I had large patches of dark hair growing. In about three months I could see the dark hair moving from the back of my head slowly to the front. Interestingly I found that the strands went dark from the roots to where my hair dye had grown out. There was no gray and then the dark started growing. I believe that the hair is like a piece of chalk you place in a glass of ink. When you drop it in the ink the whole thing turns dark. A strand of hair when given the proper nutrients also fill up. I gave my sister wheatgrass juice and powder and the same happened to her. It was more noticeable as she had more gray. Within a week you could see dark hair peppered all over her scalp. Wheatgrass contains so many nutrients including copper, so it is fantastic to take every day. There is much information on it on the web. I had fantastic blood results by taking wheatgrass.

About restoring natural hair color - Boron deficiency can cause that so supplement with borax (the mineral source of boron) as it helps restore hair color. Tried it myself and noticed a big difference in about 2 months.

Onions

Among the multitude of remedies for Grey hair listed on this thread, I have not seen onions mentioned. Onions work for me. Now in my late sixties, with barely a Grey hair, I average one small, raw, yellow onion a day, either in salads or otherwise. With a life style subject to constant changes, there are times, where my nutrition is not always guaranteed. One month with very few or next to no onions, will show up on my hair similar to tree rings - my normal colour, a whitish section, then normal colour, or another whitish section, depending on nutritional circumstances. This is my experience only, and simply and strictly anecdotal. I don't know how onions prevent or even reverse greying hair, all I know, it works for me. Onions, a household staple, inexpensive to obtain, may be the answer for those where other recipes don't work. Simply mix in salads, mix with mayonnaise, or what have you. Warning: Onions being a blood thinner, check with your physician if you are taking any blood thinning medications already. Do not exceed onion intake to more than a medium size yellow onion per day. Women may start to menstruate, even if beyond menopause.

Avoid Corn Syrup

HI U FOLKS, , , , , , , , wrote on this subject many years ago. BSM contains iron which is a two edged sword. It cut both ways. You don't need iron if you don't need iron, but I was going to shoot a bear in the fanny. As a diabetic, my glucose when out the roof and scared my mule. I still have a jar in the cabinet that is many years old.

For a diabetic to worry about grey hair is beyond belief. Worry about having two good legs to walk on. It's a sheet + 2 =8 thing.

About 3 months ago I started taking 1 Tablespoon of unsulphured blackstrap molasses daily, or at least I tried to do it daily, because many times I'd forget. I just pour onto a spoon and then swallow it. The taste is ok, not great and I just get it over with quickly. I was hoping that it would help with my graying hair all around my hairline, and sure enough this stuff works! I had a lot of gray and now it's almost all gone. I bought the unsulphured blackstrap molasses at the health food store, haven't found it at grocery stores around here. I'm very pleased and will continue. Thank you to EC and everyone who has contributed such helpful information on so many subjects.

When I heard about molasses taking white hair off I could't believe it. But I though it was worth to try. every morning in a 8 glass of water I mix' two table spoons of the blackstrap molasses, two table spoon of raw honey, and two table spoon of apple cider and drink it. I have to be honest the taste I don't like very much, but the energy i get from that is tremendous, and not only that but because of the apple cider keeps me away from any type of viruses including flu. This is a great thing I am so glad I learn about it because it been already 5 months since I started taking it and almost all my white hair is gone!!! I will take it for the rest of my life, thanks to my Health book I purchase!!!

Bee Pollen

My husband and I started taking bee pollen over twenty years ago, we are both now in our fifties. We have our full hair color, but it seems like most of our friends are grey - or dye their hair. Many female friends 5-12 years younger tell me that they are more than half grey - so they dye to cover it. I've read that bee pollen sometimes restores color to grey hair. So I be live it is possible. we just feel happier and healthier on it - so we've kept it up. We let it slip this winter and then I got that wicked cold that is going around - the long one.

Copper, Zinc

You do your research. Lack of copper has been linked to aneurisms in a very real way not a we kind of think way like they do with Alzheimer's disease. Lack of copper also causes the skin to age faster and sag. Cornsyrup depletes copper and it's in practically everything. Raw Cacao and Molasses are both high in copper and good for you if you don't have sugar issues.

The post I'm replying to is two years old, but in case someone else wants to know the answer: You will know you are buying the correct molasses -- the one referred to on Earth Clinic -- if the *front label* on the molasses jar has the words "unsulfured" and "Blackstrap Molasses."

Most people use regular molasses, not blackstrap, for cooking because the regular kind is lighter tasting and sweeter. That kind also usually states on the label that it's unsuphured, but it is not blackstrap. If a recipe calls for molasses, do not use blackstrap molasses. Regular molasses makes great gingerbread, and spice cakes.

Just remember, if you're trying molasses for health reasons, only buy *unsulfered* *blackstrap* molasses. The front label on the jar will clearly state this. Many people say the organic kind of blackstrap molasses has more nutrients. Personally, I don't know about that, but maybe so. In my town only one store sells blackstrap molasses. It's unsuphured, but not organic. The iron content per serving listed on the label only reads 2%. You can order organic unsuphured blackstrap molasses online.

Hydrogen Peroxide
Posted by Robert Henry (Ten Mile, TN) on 06/20/2014

HI U WILD AND STRANGE PEOPLE, , , , , , , , ,

Been researching as usual and the topic is grey hair. At 78 I have little, whereas my wife was totally silver at 30. Hey, don't start that stress stuff. Anyways, the current theory is that the hydrogen peroxide you produce in your body does this trick because you lose a particular enzyme named catalase.

Now here is the fun part. Our Bill Munro at 89 had a head of hair like a teenager and no one in this world has inhaled as much hydrogen peroxide as he did. You can look his picture on the internet. Amazing. I bought his oxidation theory and also inhale hydrogen peroxide several times a day. One thing it has done is shut down the mushroom factory in my nose. I do 1 and 1/2% via my nose.

As Dr. Jacobs said about DMSO and double blind tests... Million dollar race horses don't know this FDA stuff, so if it works, they run. If is doesn't then they don't. I'm wearing that ditty out, but it's true.

Would like some of you wormy folks to address my postulate that inhaling hydrogen peroxide just may have the reverse effect on getting grey hair.

This should stir the pot pretty good.

Blackstrap molasses has a lot of iron in it, though. Assuming you're not prematurely gray, isn't too much iron contraindicated for mature women?

Due to my hair loss I can't use the conventional hair dyes, however I found taking unsulphured blackstrap molasses 2 teaspoons twice a day for the last 3 weeks has turned all of my grey hair to dark black with reddish pigment. The copper in the molasses helps to change the hair colour. Good Luck

BSM definitely causes gray hair to grow dark. It happens after 2-3 weeks of taking BSM as your hair grow. It does not make hair getting darker! New darker color shows like roots on colored hair. When you stop taking BSM you will notice after couple of weeks more gray roots showing up again.

I was actually surprise that this remedy works so well. Regarding lack of copper: gray hair is just a symptom of it. I read that lack of copper is causing brain aneurysm and stroke in effect but do not ask your doctor if it is the truth.

Anyway gray hair doesn't mean you will get a stroke, you might be at higher risk of having one.

PS I am looking for advice how to deal with heel spur.
Soaking in Epsom salt helped my right heel but left got worse. Ouch! it hurts!

Avoid Corn Syrup
Posted by Om (Hope, Bc Canada) on 07/14/2015

Hi Sasi (Melbourne) ---

Blackstrap molasses as a food in my opinion, is far too valuable to discard in favour of "health".

I have it almost daily and when forgetting, seem to feel it is needed. When I was diagnosed with sugar imbalance, I fell into a deep hole by believing I needed their medication. Through study on EC here I learned that it would kill me and possibly not the disease. More info on this, and confirmation, through GreenMedInfo online.

Blackstrap molasses is harvested usually by very poor workers in Asia who, as they harvest it, have little food and live by starvation but BMS keeps them free of disease and cancer.

To keep BMS out of the diet when it provides the so much needed minerals and nutrients, makes no sense.

Allopathic med provides no education on nutrition and is unable to advise people on their nutritional needs other than their policies which have caused waves of disease all over the world. Look alone at salt, refined, and caused so much heart disease.

My relationship in that early time of bs inbalance, has altered my relationship with food in a very negative way. But I learned through research I can rely on myself by finding a way back to health. That is a matter of personal choice. People smoke but are afraid to discard a medicine that will dry the blood till there is a heart attack described as "due to diabetes complications".

So I take that nutritious food that has also freed me of arthritis. Too much money and politics ruin everything.

Namaste, Om
