Hi! I started taking BSM about 4 weeks ago. I take one big tablespoon in the morning with warm water. I have 25% grey hair towards the front of my head and at 29 it makes me feel much older than my peers and makes me feel very depressed.

I don't see any change in colour as yet. Please can someone help to tell me how long it would take to show the results.

There is an alkalyzing protocol by a man named moreless which uses blackstrap molasses and lemon juice and extremely diluted calcium hydroxide and water and kelp. This protocol has cured many diseases including candida even though there is sugar in the blackstrap molasses; this is due to the fact that candida cannot exist in an alkaline environment; so basically this is about creating the correct ph level in the body. Also I believe it is the lemon juice that activates the minerals in the blackstrap molasses to it can be absorbed. His protocol is on another website so I don't know if I can mention it, so try googling Moreless ph balance, or moreless alkalyzing drink of if interested contact me and I will send the recipe. Also different types of baths are included to also alkalyze, but what I am saying here is that perhaps this is a safe way to take blackstrap molasses because the body is alkalyzed and candida will not be a problem. Moreless is no longer on his old forum but has a new forum, if you can email me do so or I will check back on this post. Starhawk Houston Texas.

Just wondering about using blackstrap molasses. I bought some, but did not see anything that said it had copper in it. Did I buy the wrong kind? With all that sugar, wouldn't it be better to take copper supplements? I found some on line. Just wondering what the difference is between copper supplements with no sugar vs BSM with sugar?

Perhaps try coconut oil, as well as oil pulling with coconut oil. I have found that since including a regimen of 2 Tbs. of coconut oil per day taken internally, and also oil pulling once a day -- that my gray hairs have been replaced by brown again.

Good luck!

Mark it is a good question and one I hope somebody will be along to answer. I wondered about your very question because my situation is quite similar. Although I have quite a lot of grey everywhere it is very prominent on my right side also and I mean remarkably prominent and noticable too. There seems to be no logic as to why one side would grey so much quicker than the other and I am very curious to know the answer too. I have tried to work it out myself but I am at a loss really only coming up with wild speculations but I agree something seems to be causing it.

Hi Debbie, I completely agree with you on the use of microwaves. Not many people are aware of how long the Russians banned them for because they were not satisfied with the safety of them. I have always intuitively believed them to be dangerous and I would never own one despite recognising the convenience. For me saving a few minutes here and there is all well and good but it could cost you years of your life.

Deb I also was interested in your use of wheatgrass on another topic and if the benefits have been sustained? I have recently started taking it but could not find the brand you had hinted at previously even though I am in Sydney? My own view is that certain things may work for certain individual types and it is a process of figuring out ones own cure, I just hope it is wheatgrass for me too, that would be so great!

Faithful, throw away your microwave... It kills all nutrients in foods. You are better off putting a little milk and molasses in a saucepan and gently heat it there. Do some research on the dangers of microwave cooking. You may as well eat cardboard if you are using a microwave.

Hi,

I am trying the blackstrap molasses for grey hair and I came up with a recipe that makes it taste really good. I am following the mixture of milk & water (both heated in microwave), and molasses as one of the previous person has noted on the website. It tasted good, but the smell of the molasses was still a little strong. I think if the smell is neutralized, it makes it taste better. I put in coffee cream (french vanilla) and a little bit of honey with the mixture and it really tastes great. it's also giving me so much energy. I'm so glad I came to this website to learn about molasses that is so good for you all around.

Will post more with updates. Today is my second day of using it and I will be replacing this with my in the morning coffee. The result so far is a lot of energy.

Took organic unsulphered BSM for months and did not notice any difference, in fact, more gray hairs than ever seemed to be coming in. Purchased some chlorophyll just to try out, and my gray hairs are all but gone. And now my hair is a deep, shiny chocolate brown, healthier than it ever was before. I take one to two tablespoons a day. I believe it is the copper that is helping me. I use Nature's Way Chlorofresh, in case anyone is interested. Have been taking this for about two months. This may not work for everyone, but it sure has for me.

Alain posts that BSM is high in potassium. I started supplementing with potassium a few weeks ago to help with muscle aches (for which there's been a huge improvement) and I'm sure my formerly grey hair is returning to its normal colour as the dye grows out. Bonus!

I had some grey hairs and chose to go the natural route and try Blackstrap Molasses to get my color back. Well, I took the Blackstrap Molasses concoction for about two weeks if that long. It caused my sugar levels to soar and my flawless face went crazy. My cheeks were covered in fine and large pimples and they itched! I'm still working to get my skin back to normal. I have family members that are diabetic and I think my body is sensitive to big spikes in my sugar level. Good luck to those using the Blackstrap Molasses method. It's not an option for me.

I need help very badly and hoping there's a positive answer. I have been suffering from fungus many years now... I think I breathed it in or contact with my skin when I was cleaning some old belongings of people... It was almost at an instant I got very sick... Felt like an old withered log eaten buy termites and feeling extremely dirty.... I finally went to see a doctor... I got better but I am not really cured... I sneeze too easily and it seems to dominate my left side especially in my left nostril... I have tried almost everything to cure it but it won't comletely leave me along... I read all your post about fungus and gray hair using molasses.... I would like so much to use it but I am worried about this fungus... Do you think I will be feeding the fungus? Any alternative?

Thanks for this recipe for a nutritious tasty hot drink. I'm going out to buy it today. I am 61 with no grey hair although small parts occassionally turn grey then reverse. One coin sized patch turns white if I get a bad shock that 'freaks me out' then gradually recolours. This has happened twice that I can recall. Another small patch can turn grey if I eat the wrong food then gradually recolours when I stop eating the problem food. This has happened a couple of times since I first noticed it 15 years ago. It takes a couple of weeks for the colour to fully return. I eat gluten and dairy free, with very little meat and lots of raw foods, fruit, nuts, juices and cooked vegetables etc plus nutritional suppliments including B vitamins. I also use soy milk but am currently changing to raw goats milk. My husband's hair went grey at 60 when he went on a prepackaged diet with many refined foods including white flour and sugar, dairy products and cheese. Now he has stopped that diet the colour has mostly retuned to his hair. I will add BSM to my diet for taste nutrition and hopefully a healthier look.

Tommy, maybe you would like to read the book I am reading at the moment, The Cancer Industry by Ralph Moss (it is a book from the 80's but the reality has changed very little since then). You are right, we should have the right to get the treatments we choose, not have governments ban many of them and persecute people! But freedom is very scarce nowadays.....

Rima, there have been quite a few discussions on this site lately about the banning of supplements here in Europe as well. For us it will start in April this year! Supplements are already awfully expensive, this will only make it worse because only big companies will be manufacturing them. And the maximum amounts of vitamins and minerals will be lowered quite a lot but I am sure not the prices meaning that you will have to take a lot more and therefore will be paying premium prices to get what you need.

Hi Rima, Thank you for the link. It's up to us the people to stop this dictatureship against us. Wa are free to treat ourself the way we like and these pupputs goverments should side with the patients insteed of defending the big pharma. I have a friend who recenty left Montreal to Portugal for prostate cancer treatment. Even chimeo he couldn't get in Montreal ( he had to wait for the waiting list). Big pharma is patenting anything on earth so we cannot use it. They are patenting even herba extract so normal people will never see it. Plus they are pushing these puppit regimes to disturb the supplement market.

Wheatgrass

Hi Deb

I believe I have purchased the same brand of wheat grass that you have been using... New Zealand brand with the words “"Certified Organic. A Guaranteed Shot of Authentic Sun Grown Wheat Grass". The jar I have states that you should take a maximum of 4 a day which is the equivalent of 2.5 grams. I note however that you were/are taking 10 tablets a day. Can you advise how many grams that is equivalent to? Or alternatively advise how many grams are in your whole jar and how many tablets are in the jar?

Juju, I only take the capsules because I don't like the taste much in powder form. I also sometimes buy drink fresh wheatgrass juice (in a shot glass from a juice outlet). The capsules I buy are a brand from New Zealand which says "Certified Organic. A Guaranteed Shot of Authentic Sun Grown Wheat Grass". I am not sure I can tell you the brand on this website. They also sell the powder. You could probably google them. Cheers Deb

Wheatgrass

Sue, I buy it in capsules because it is easier to take. I take about 10 capsules per day (5 in morning and 5 in evening). You have to keep it up because I stopped the wheatgrass and started on the Super Greens and my gray hair returned. I am now back on the wheatgrass capsules. It also keeps your body alkaline.

Wheatgrass

Did you buy it in powdered form, or in capsules?
Also, a question for some of you biochemists out there: I read that oils can remove pigment from hair, which makes sense given the many people who report that oil-pulling removes stains from teeth --maybe oil lifts pigment from surfaces. But oil is also used as a conditioner, and at least one reader mentions using castor oil on eye lashes to darken them. Does anyone know more about oil/pigment etc? Or do various oils do different things?

The best remedy for gray hair I have found is wheatgrass (juice or powder). When I started taking a combination of the juice and powder, I was shocked after a couple of weeks that I had large patches of dark hair growing. In about three months I could see the dark hair moving from the back of my head slowly to the front. Interestingly I found that the strands went dark from the roots to where my hair dye had grown out. There was no gray and then the dark started growing. I believe that the hair is like a piece of chalk you place in a glass of ink. When you drop it in the ink the whole thing turns dark. A strand of hair when given the proper nutrients also fill up. I gave my sister wheatgrass juice and powder and the same happened to her. It was more noticeable as she had more gray. Within a week you could see dark hair peppered all over her scalp. Wheatgrass contains so many nutrients including copper, so it is fantastic to take every day. There is much information on it on the web. I had fantastic blood results by taking wheatgrass.

Vanessa:
Have you tried any of the other remedies on the Gray Hair page?:
https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/hair_gray.html

I would guess that where you live, something like seaweed should be readily available. Also, it's non-prescription and it should be quite inexpensive too. Remember that the life cycle of each hair is a few years, and the hair shaft above the scalp is dead keratin, so it won't change back but new erupting hairs you will be able to see if they're dark. The amount of bound iodine in seaweed can vary greatly, like by a factor of 100, but Iodine isn't the top reason for seaweed in this case. As a living plant from the ocean, it will have most or all of the trace minerals that are mostly missing today from any land soil-grown food plants. The one specific trace mineral that gets mentioned repeatedly as being deficient in gray hair is COPPER. It is also necessary in reinforcing the arterial walls to prevent aneurysms. It is usually available in a 3 mg dosage tablet copper sulfate.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/172218-supplements-for-gray-hair/
According to Oregon State University's Linus Pauling Institute, loss of pigmentation is one of the many symptoms of copper deficiency, since copper has an essential role in the enzyme processes involved in melanin formation. This is a trace mineral, meaning that the body needs only a small amount. While too little copper can contribute to health problems, too much copper can also be unhealthy. Consult a certified nutritionist to help determine the right dosage before supplementing copper to help with graying hair.

Kelp: Sea-based foods like kelp are high in naturally occurring minerals including iodine essential for the proper function of the thyroid gland. Unfortunately kelp has fallen out of favor in Western diets due to its salty taste. Whilst in Asia recently I remarked how uncommon it was to see people under 70 with gray hair, this is due partly to their wholefood diets and consumption of sea-based vegetables. #

Fermented Foods: long implicated as being essential for a healthy digestive system. Most cultures have a version of fermented foods which provide local beneficial bacteria for the digestive system. Examples include miso, Kimchee, Sauerkraut, yogurt, Kefir, sourdough breads. Many of these you can make yourself using easily obtained base products.

Then there's Foti:
http://www.scumdoctor.com/beauty/hair-coloring/gray-hair/Herb-To-Eliminate-Gray-Hair.html

Many traditional methods use herbs to eliminate gray hair and a popular Chinese herb used to get rid of gray hair is Foti. Foti is the common name for polygonum multiforum. It is a climbing vine with red stems and white or pink flowers. It is grown in central and south China. It is known to grow to a length of 30 feet. It is known as He Shou Wu named after a folklore hero

I am 30 yrs old and I have some gray hairs. I always feel really not confident with myself around people. Previously I dye my hair but ever since I took the blackstrap molasses I stop dying to see the result. It has been 4 months already but I can still see some gray hair growing. It's just that some of the gray hair growth are more fine rather than thick like before. Is this a progress since most of the testimony I've read from other people, their gray hair grows to their natural color? and is is ok to pluck the grey hair? would it caused more gray hair to grow?

White Potatoes
Posted by Brooke (Montgomery, Tx, Usa) on 12/21/2010

Hello Patroce,
I am not sure of your question - however, I will put it all together for you! Take the peelings of white potatoes and put them in patapar paper (look that up), it is basically wax paper without any wax on it. Put the peelings in the paper and take each side and pull up, making a little "pocket" for the potato peelings and put a rubber band, or tie it up so that it is really tight!! Put that in some water that is boiling already, if you want to add a little water to the peelings, then just add a tsp. , however, I don't add any. This supplies some essential elements that are needed by our bodies for proper thyroid function. Some other things you can add to your diet for proper thyroid activity are - citrus fruit juices; orange juice plus lemon juice or grapefruit juice plus lime juice; carrots; and seafoods.

And avoid fried foods, starches, refined sugars, onions and garlic. Next thing is to have a Pennsylvania Crude oil massage on your scalp from 1/2 hr to 1 hour - depending on the time you have. Followed by a massage with petroleum jelly. The way that I have always done it is I put my petroleum into my crude oil bottle. It takes a while, but I have a thick crude oil that is easy to pour into my hair. (I now have two different crude oil bottles that I use, if you do this, then just take out approx an ounce to 2 ounces of oil and put in an ounce to ounces of Vaseline. Put your other oil into another container and add the same to that. ) I take a little and put it into the cap and then just pour on approx 4-6 caps all over my scalp. Then I take a hand held massager with a cup attachment and go over it for 30min-1hr. I usually do it in the morning before anyone get up!

Next you get into the shower and put some grain alcohol (one drop of grain alcohol to one ounce of water) onto your scalp, this is to close your pores.

Do this one time a week. I also take a mixture of: A simple syrup (sugar) base blended with Elixir of Lactated Pepsin, Liquid Liver Extract, Fluid Extracts of Black Snake Root and Wild American Ginseng, Atomic Iodine and Grain Alcohol. Each 1/2 teaspoon provides. 225mg or 150% of the Recommended Daily Allowance of Iodine. So I recommend seeing a Dr before starting this formula, because of the Iodine. And if you are taking any Iodine supplements then you should not take them anymore because of this formula, if you get it. I use a pendulum and kinesiology for taking my formula, so if you can learn how to do that it would be the best. I took it 3x a week the first two weeks and then left it off I think a week, and then I repeated that, and now I only take it one x a day for 5 days and leave it off for 5 days. However, you would need to follow your own intuition for taking it. What works for me, doesn't necessary work for someone else! I also have a "violet ray" which can be very dangerous!! You can NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL on the day you use it. However, I think that the "violet ray" is just a better way to get the circulation up to the scalp. The small vibrator would be enough. I have experimented with my hair forever!!!! (15 years) If you decide to get a "violet ray", then you NEED TO LOOK ON THE INTERNET FOR ALL OF THE WARNINGS!! Then I use the Olive oil shampoos and conditioners for my hair. I have found that my hair doesn't do well with the olive oil conditioner, so I just put the olive oil conditioner onto the scalp part of my hair and then I add my favorite conditioner to the bottom of my long hair! (By the way, I have NEVER had hair past my shoulders that didn't look healthy, and now I do!! )

I hope this clears up some things for you, and every one. It is also the best way to stop the balding process and to regrow balding or even balded hair. The bald head can be regrown this way, only if it is not from a fungus that has attacked the cuticle.

Coconut Oil
Posted by Ellen (Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada) on 11/07/2010

Although Coconut oil is wonderful, and great for your health and so many ailments, it will not turn your hair back to it's orginial color. The only thing that will do this is restoring your body with minerals. You need to have all your minerals topped up by supplying it with kelp and redstar flake yeast. Both are very high in minerals, but kelp has the added addition of iodine which is so important to health. I take 1/2 tsp of kelp in my diet every day plus I substitute redstar flake yeast for cheese. I got to tell you that my hair, skin, and health have never looked and felt better. Try this as you will not be disappointed. The hair is a barometer of your health. If you have a lot of minerals your hair will not have gray in it and it will be soft and supple and shiny. If you are not supplying your diet with minerals, then you will have gray hair prematurely and the hair shaft will be rough and dry and dull. Believe me, I went from dull to shiny in about 6 months by supplementing my diet with minerals, and not from supplements either as I took none - only minerals from a high brix diet (look this up) and Laminaria digitata kelp, plus the redstar flake yeast. Good luck, Ellen

Onions

Among the multitude of remedies for Grey hair listed on this thread, I have not seen onions mentioned. Onions work for me. Now in my late sixties, with barely a Grey hair, I average one small, raw, yellow onion a day, either in salads or otherwise. With a life style subject to constant changes, there are times, where my nutrition is not always guaranteed. One month with very few or next to no onions, will show up on my hair similar to tree rings - my normal colour, a whitish section, then normal colour, or another whitish section, depending on nutritional circumstances. This is my experience only, and simply and strictly anecdotal. I don't know how onions prevent or even reverse greying hair, all I know, it works for me. Onions, a household staple, inexpensive to obtain, may be the answer for those where other recipes don't work. Simply mix in salads, mix with mayonnaise, or what have you. Warning: Onions being a blood thinner, check with your physician if you are taking any blood thinning medications already. Do not exceed onion intake to more than a medium size yellow onion per day. Women may start to menstruate, even if beyond menopause.

I have noticed some improvement too after about 6 months of taking a multivitamin containing huge amounts of B vit group. Three month into it, I also added BSM after reading positive feedbacks on this website. Once or twice a day, BSM taken with milk and brewers yeast. So, yes, I added more vit B in the form of brewers yeast. Now I can see auburn highlights so clearly around my face (on the temples and just above my forehead). My natural colour is ash blond and these auburn highlights look quite different from my natural colour but it is still better than having these patches grey. My grey strands, however, are still there on the rest of my head. I found a few strands with brown roots but the white rest. So it is definitely helping but slowly. I have recently added black sesame seeds (like 10 days ago). One table spoon a day. One chinese doctor advised me taking them as in China these are known to promote black and healthy hair.

O. K. , well, I can't really say I'm not still a little confused. I wonder where you would find year old potatoes that are not rotten. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Sorry Kay - I will give you some direct quotes from the Edgar Cayce Readings -

(Q) What can I do, if anything, about my hair turning gray so prematurely?
(A) With those shocks to the nervous system there has been changed a great deal of the pigment, or the flow of the activities. If you would prevent the hair from turning gray, let at least two meals each day be taken of the peeling of Irish potatoes - it'll turn it to its normal color again! They may be cooked, yes. 32.

(Q) What is lacking in my system that is causing my hair to gray, and what can I do to prevent it?
(A) Eat more potatoes; that is, the skins of same, and we will find it'll change the color back more. The PEEL, not the pulp! 33.

(Q) What is best to use on my hair at this time?
(A) Any of those influences or forces that we have indicated are well for same. Nothing better than White Vaseline and a WEAK solution of alcohol; but grain alcohol, NOT that which has been denatured. 34.

(Q) How should the potatoes be cooked with the peelings?
(A) Either baked or boiled. The Readings have continually recommended the addition to the diet of the juice made from Irish potato peelings. Stew the peels of three or four potatoes in a little water and drink the juice, about twice a week.
Cayce Quotes on Potato
257-228

The peelings of potatoes don't of themselves make hair grow if everything else is done to prevent it! But it tends to stimulate, to keep the activities in such a manner as to be beneficial. For this body, or any other body - if it desires to use it - though it's rather late for this body to undertake to grow back hair, when it might have followed this procedure some twenty years ago and prevented the loss of the hair; but for most bodies, about an ounce of the potato peeling juice taken every few days is beneficial. It also carries the salts that are helpful in stimulating an activity for better assimilating forces in the body. For it tends to keep a balance. But remember, much depends upon the manner in which such potatoes are used, - where and how they are grown, and how prepared. But in general, these are beneficial in the manner indicated. 2011-2

(Q) How can I keep my hair from turning gray?
(A) The citrus fruit juices and the regular weekly use of the juice from the Irish potato peel. Peel the potato and make a soup of the peelings, see. Take this weekly. This, with the character of the dressing for the hair, should correct this condition. 3900-1

(Q) Is there any real benefit to be gained from the "gray hair" vitamins?
(A) Upset stomach is usually gained! If you desire to prevent gray hair, drink at least once each week half a pint of juice prepared from Irish potato peelings. Just the peelings, not the bulk of the potato. This will aid in keeping the correct color in hair. 5197-1

(Q) How can I improve texture of hair?
(A) Better be glad that you have it, but the peelings of Irish potato boiled and taken once a day will improve the texture of the hair. This will require a long period of about six months. Two ounces of this fresh juice a day. 774-2

While there are those conditions that still disturb the body with the manner in which there is the inflammation in the eye, or in the lids and the iris, these - as we find - are somewhat on the improve. We would use the potato poultice, scraped old Irish potato - not new; put the scraped potato in a gauze and place on the eye (with it closed); not the potato directly to the eye in this particular case, but in a gauze, and sufficient quantity of it to fill the whole socket space. Let this remain as the body rests, for an hour to an hour and a half; then take off. It will be found that considerable amount of inflammation will be drawn out. Do this for two to three days, or two or three evenings; then rest by leaving it off for two or three days - if it makes for too great an irritation, which at times it would, dependent upon the newness or oldness of the potato, you see, that is used. When the poultice is removed each time, cleanse the eye with a weak solution of boric acid. This will make for a cleansing of the inflammation from these conditions. 5499-1

Do not use the new potato; that is, use the potato of the year previous, and scrape same and lay over the eye of evenings, and cleanse same afterward with a weak solution of Boric Acid. 2638-1

.... We would apply a scraped Irish potato poultice over the eyes; that is, scrape an OLD Irish potato (not new potato) and apply between gauze. Let this remain on the eye for at least thirty to forty minutes. Then bathe off the eyes (when this is removed) with a weak eye lotion

I hope this helps!

I'm a little confused about this remedy. Does the skin need to be peeled very thin without flesh, or can some of the potato be attached? Do you need to make a fresh batch of potato skin tea each time you drink it, or can you make it and use it for a couple of days or even just the same day? What is the ratio of skin to water, is it like the skin of one potato (maybe 1/4 cup) to a cup of water? And, lastly, what exactly do you mean by an OLD potato, is that growing eyes, shriveled up, etc. ? Sorry for so many questions, I just don't know where to start. Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us.

Do you add water to the potato peels, Brook? And won't we be getting much of the chemicals the potatoes are treated with as well? What is the benefit for the eyes?

EC: Yes, add water.

Gray Hair Remedies

If you make a Tea out of the peelings of old white potatoes then strain it, and add any seasonings to make it taste better - that will make your hair turn back to its natural color. The way to do it is to get an atlas mason jar and put the peelings into it and then close it loosely and put it in a pot lined with a towel to keep it from breaking. Boil it for about an hour to get all the potatoes vitamin properties. Then carefully open it with another towel and strain it. Then add your seasonings. Do it 1-2 times a day for as long as it takes to get your hair back to it's natural color. You can use the potato that you don't use to shred it and make a poultice for your eyes with it. It is great for the eyes!!

Hi Donald, I am not claiming to be a specialist on the theme here, but as far as DNA playing in to greying hair goes I think the scenario is more something like this: our DNA is what determines that around a certain time of our lives (average age 30 ish) the body will start reducing its production of or assimilation of the minerals that play major role in hair color. Reinforcing that mineral or group of minerals (this is the extent of my knowledge on the matter-I'm just referring to the principle of it) rekindles the 'coloring' process back on! On top of that just like deborah suggested, if for some reason it didn't work for you, you still did yrself a big favor by supplementing with many of the minerals our 21st century foods are depleted of.

In regards to the diet soda issue, it's not the caffeine that is destroying anything good they do, it's the artificial sweetener! I have read many studies on the topic from various reputable resources (I never take just one source's word for anything, always cross reference! ) It has been shown to actually CAUSE weight gain primarily in the abdomen. It has been shown to not only CREATE cancer cells, once they are created the chemicals then FEED the cancer and it grows at an alarming rate. It's poison and it infuriates me that I have to be so very careful and diligent about not getting any food with it in it, the first step in my personal choice to purchase (or grow) organic and even then you still have to read the ingredients to check for cholesterol, sat fat, SODIUM (thats the one I see the most of) but at least you dont have to worry about preservatives (shown to be the main cause of lower testosterone levels in men, which can lead to PSA, colon cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and ED! )

Oh btw I found this thread when searching for which vitamins CAUSE gray hair. I have recently completely changed my lifestyle regarding nutrition, supplements and becoming more active. I just noticed a gray hair and upon closer inspection I found quite a few gray roots, the length of the new growth looks about like the the length of time since I have made these changes, the first was cutting red meats, sodium and sat fats. Eating more fish fresh veggies and lots of fresh fruit and smoothies with raw oats, blueberries, greek yogurt, ground flaxseed, scant amount of physllium husk, vanilla almond milk and organic protien powder. I have been taking 5000mg of Biotin for about a month to a month and a half now. I noticed my eyebrows growing back in first, they had bald gaps in them before and I had to draw them in with an eyepencil, then my hair seemed to be getting thicker. I am suspecting it may be an imbalance in the zinc and b vitamins. I am starting a b-complex supplement today in addition to my biotin, b-6 and folic acid with DHA among multiple other vitamins and supplements. Oh sorry to make this so long but another topic you should read is on this site is

turmeric (I can speak for this, IT WORKS! ! ! I had horrible boils come up fast and big and PAINFUL, in desperation to avoid the ER, a search brought me to this site and the topic on turmeric. I started it on Sunday morning (3 a. M. Edt) and it is now Friday and it is completely gone, only dark spots remain where the skin is still healing. Within 3 hours of the 1st dose I had incredible relief and 50% reduction in boils and some completely gone. H2O2 inhalation therapy. I have heard of this before. I have known someone using the ingestion method and she was visibly younger looking! I have been too scared to try it. I got all the supplies and followed the preparation instructions but have not really tried it yet. I have also just purchased some herbal tea for cleansing. My current dosing formula for blood cleaning, gray hair,

in 8 oz glass I combine (all ingredients are raw, organic and natural):

1 tsp ground turmuric
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/8-1/4 tsp ground black pepper (1/4 makes it a bit spicy)
1 tbsp honey
1-2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar with MOTHER (I have found only ONE that is not pastuerized, which kills it)
2-4 tbsp lemon juice (this works amazingly to cut the vinegar taste and smell! )
1/4 c boiling water (this helps melt the syrups and make it thinner for fast swallowing)

stir well and drink it down. I have found that holding your nose really does take bitter tastes away and sometimes I use less water so there is not so much to drink but since discovering the lemon juice its almost good! . I use chocolate almond milk to chase it, its thick and YUMMY and almonds are super good for you! Peace - May it begin with me. . . Steph

Chlorophyll

I am a big believer in chlorophyll to keep the hair from turning gray. I have been a user of green juices for about 7 years. I notice that if I stop taking them for a week or so, a white hair will pop in. As soon as I start the green drinks again, the white hair will literally change back to its normal brown within days. Chlorophyll drinks carry lots of oxygen to the cells removing toxins. They also have lots of minerals so they will bring the copper and zinc in also.

The other thing I notice is that if you have a very stressful life, you will need a higher amount of these juices. So for me, I need to up my green juice quantity when really stressed. Another good side effect of the chlorophyll is that my skin is radiant with literally no wrinkles at all and I have lots of energy. I'm in my mid 50's and most people think that I am at least 10 years younger.

BSM definitely causes gray hair to grow dark. It happens after 2-3 weeks of taking BSM as your hair grow. It does not make hair getting darker! New darker color shows like roots on colored hair. When you stop taking BSM you will notice after couple of weeks more gray roots showing up again.

I was actually surprise that this remedy works so well. Regarding lack of copper: gray hair is just a symptom of it. I read that lack of copper is causing brain aneurysm and stroke in effect but do not ask your doctor if it is the truth.

Anyway gray hair doesn't mean you will get a stroke, you might be at higher risk of having one.

PS I am looking for advice how to deal with heel spur.
Soaking in Epsom salt helped my right heel but left got worse. Ouch! it hurts!

In response to the use of baking soda with apple cider vinegar, that combination is more for weight loss. I have two daughters who were born with white hair and they have slowly added more, I have no way near the white hair they have. The organic molasses we have is unsulphered - blackstrap...but does not have copper in its ingredients...is this the wrong one?

Please note that hair on the crown of your head grows an average of 1/2 inch per month and grows at a different rate than the sides. You might try adding some chelated zinc to your diet as low levels of this mineral can hasten the greying as well.

I used a combination of biotin, organic silica, and zinc to stop hair loss and to regrow hair that grew back in in my natural hair colour and not the grey/white hair that fell out.

I have been taking 1 Tablespoon BSM in my morning tea for three months. I wish I had taken pictures before I started because I am not sure if I am seeing any results or not. I know that I am not getting more gray. And around my face there may be a greater percentage of brown but the crown is still quite gray and the bottom line is still must color my hair as often. I shall continue but wish I had greater progress to report.

Could you maybe specify in spoons how much molasses you take each time? I have been trying it for a while but so far nothing seems to have happened. I drink about 1 soup spoon in a glass of water every morning. Maybe it is not enough....

WARNING!

NAY, this is not my experience nor what I have researched. When I tried blackstrap molasses, my sugar went out the roof for several weeks. My doctor told me that iron can mess you up big time. It took awhile to get my glucose back reasonable.

I caution any diabetic about using blackstrap molasses.

EC: Thanks, Robert! This thread has just been cross-posted to the diabetes page.

This has been my experience using black strap molases. i take it three times daily. once in the morning, once at miday and once in the evening. i pour about one incn in a styrafoam regular size glass, mix well with warm water and down the whole thing. i am 56 and started graying in my early 20,s. i am pretty much all grey with some white. i have been on this regiment for over three months. i also take b vitamins. my hair now is getting some color at the top of my head and working downward. i visited my son the other day and he said that my hair was getting darker and was i using a hair dye. i assured him that i was not. then about one week later i visited a friend i had not seen in a long time. she looked at me and asked if i was dyeing my hair. and finaly when i went to get my hair cut my barber commented that my hair was getting darker. this change of my hair can only be the result of the unsulphered blackstrap molasses (ubsm). i use only unsulphered blackstrap molases which can only be bought at health food stores in my area.

also i have type II diabetes. because i am unemployed and uninsured i could not take my prescribed insulin. i just could not afford it. i googled natural cures for diabetes and found out that unsulphered molasses would cure and regulate blood sugar. it suggested using it twice daily would do the trick. recently i went and had blood work done for my diabetes and the results were that my blood sugar levels for the past three months very normal. again i contribute this to the ubsm. i am certainly not saying that one should not take their medication for diabetes but the addition of ubsm certainly cannot hurt as it is low in sugar. you would to talk to your doctor about it first. anyways usbm is working for me . i really believe that it works but in a very slow way. have patience and hang in there. have a good day. donald

Hi Sarah

Thank you so much for the reply. I am still waiting to see some results.Could you please let me know how much is the concentration of B6 and B12 is in the supplement you are taking? Also, if you can let us know composition of "Unsulphured blackstrap mollases" that will be great. We can then match it, perhaps that will make some difference.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks so much for your response Sarah. Perhaps if you got a minute some time you could advise me what with the brand of black strap molasses you have found to be successful ... I have been using an organic unsulphured blackstrap molasses product for 10 months (also now coupled with a vitamin B supplement), I have a healthy balanced diet and lifecyle and I am not noticing any improvements in the grey hair situation! I am 30 only years old and over 50% grey and it is really starting to get to me! Thanks so much for your time to-date responding to us white tops!
