Natural Remedies to Prevent Kidney Disease

Kidney disease is considered a progressive disease that develops over time, particularly if necessary treatment is not followed. Treatment at any stage is important. Several home remedies can help manage symptoms and prevent further disease development, including apple cider vinegar detoxifying and baking soda for alkalizing the body.

Additional treatments include Arabic gum, castor oil, cayenne, and juicing with such combinations as celery, cucumbers and apples.

What Is Kidney Disease?

The kidneys are two organs situated on either side of the spine at mid-back and above the waist.

These organs function to purify the blood, remove excess fluid, balance the salt and minerals in the blood and normalize blood pressure. However, the kidneys can become damaged due to diet, life choices, and disease, causing waste products and fluid to build up in the body. The result of this damage can be kidney disease.

Also called kidney failure, kidney disease is characterized by the kidneys’ inability to function properly. At advanced stages, dangerous levels of fluid and toxins build up in the body.

Continue reading below for in-depth treatment protocols for treating kidney disease, including those from Ted from Bangkok and Bill Thompson's alkalizing advice. One of the most important repeated suggestions in this section is alkalizing with remedies like apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda. Other contributors offer reports of remedies and supplements that have been helping, such as DMSO and Castor Oil packs. Dietary changes, such as eliminating carbonated beverages, are advised as well.

I just want to thank Ted for the good work he is doing here on alkalizing. I took Zithromax for pnemonia and it hurt my left kidney bad. I discontinued after the first dose, but pain for three weeks following first two pills. I have been working hard to heal this, but the spleen began to hurt as well. After this the liver and or gallbladder were off too.

I was able to read through this site and see advice that Ted gave to others.

https://ted.earthclinic.com/cures/kidney_disease.html

Based on my own research I can say that Ted is more than brilliant. I am certain that his advice has helped me and many others. The doctors do not know how to heal kidneys. Its a very difficult task, but doing the right things certainly help. I had no time to waste with this either.

Do you have a high amount of Uric acid in your system? If so sugar is bad. Black cherry juice may help reduce it.

Hi Everyone... One fact that seems to scream out from the research regarding kidney problems is that a major cause for this condition is because the body is already far to acid, resulting in dangerous erosion and damage to the kidneys themselves caused by the acidity in the blood. Ted from Bangkok has said this time and time again on EC.

Kidney disease and high body acidity also means that the body will have great problems digesting acid foods like raw Apple Cider Vinegar(acetic acd, malic acid) and citrus fruits(citric acid) which are normally beneficial to people whose bodies are not so acidic and who have sufficient stores to neutralize the citric acid to citrates and acetic acid to acetates. Ingesting these raw acid foods -- when the body is already so acidic and body bicarbonate stores so lacking -- are not beneficial to the body because in people with already acidic bodies and in order for these ingested acids to be converted to useful alkaline salts, these acids must first be neutralized by our bicarbonate stores during digestion. Excess blood acidity caused by a bad acid diet and a resulting lack of bicarbonate stores is what damages and erodes the kidneys. So if you have kidney problems then this essentially means that your body's bicarbonate and citrate stores are heavily depleted and also means that you are eating way too many acid foods -- so you cannot efficiently neutralize these damaging acids in the blood or within the cells themselves.

Therefore the common sense approach would simply be just to take Ted's Alkalizing Remedies to increase bicarbonate stores(alkalize the blood) and citrates (to alkalize the intracellular environment) within the body. From the research, bicarbonates and citrates are particularly useful for the kidneys in this respect.

So for some people to advise, as I have already read on EC, taking acidic foods like raw ACV and citrus fruits when someone is suffering from kidney disease caused by a lack of bicarbonate alkali in an already acidic body would seem to be absolutely crazy and completely the wrong advice.

It seems to confirm my doubts as I'm those rare ones on whom Apple Cider Vinegar did not work rather it sent my Blood pressure through the roof and I had to be put on medication after hospitalisation. My cholestrol is high too, though I generally eat healthy.

Can u please guide me on the kind of foods to avoid n to have with HBP n Cholesterol n early menopause at age 38. Since then I've been downhill.

Even if I take lime/lemon everyday but it constipates me severely. I'm scared to try Baking soda becoz of the sodium.

What kind of supplements/diet would help? I look forward to your guidence.

My daughter is 12, she has been suffering with Nephrotic Syndrome Mcd for 10 yrs. She had relapsed and we were waiting to go on the high dose steroids, her protein spill was +3. She had a very sore throat and I had the idea to get her to gargle with apple cider vinegar, 5mls (a capful) in a glass of water 3 times a day. I was very surprised to find the next day her protein was +2, the next day +1 and then neg. It's been 10 days now, I get her to drink a glass of Apple Cider Vinegar before bed, when she gargled she also swallowed it. I am still in shock this worked, no high dose steroids with all the horrible side effects.

Hi, I just noticed that a couple of people requested an update concerning my daughter's experience using apple cider vinegar for nephrotic syndrome MCD. Well I'm very happy to report that she has had no further relapses, she is still off all medication. We continued using the ACV gargle and swallow 3 times per day for 1 month. After that she did it once per day for 2 months then stopped.

While on vacation she came down with food poisoning and did not relapse, also after returning to school after the Summer holidays she came down with a sore throat, cough and cold but again without relapse, previously the most trivial infection would start a relapse.

Re Apple Cider Vinegar for Nephrotic Syndrome

Hi Tina,

Yes my daughter was crippled with pain when reducing steroids, her doctors always seemed very surprised by this. I am a biochemist and through research, I came to the conclusion she was suffering from osteomalacia (sort of adult rickets) brought on by loss of vit D3, caused by the massive doses of steroids used for Nephrotic Syndrome, I gave her 5000 iu of vit D3 along with the necessary co factors, ( Magnesium Vit b2 and vit K2, and after 24 hrs she already felt relief, all pain was gone in 5 days. Tina I am so sorry you are suffering from this terrible illness, and because it is uncommon no one understands what you are going through, the treatment causes as much suffering as the disease. my daughters teachers seemed to think she had cystitis and that I was making a fuss over nothing. She still has her vit D3 as it is still too early to make much vit d3 from the sun. Shes had no side effects (actually her eczema and hay fever disappeared) but that's a good side effect. I am sort of embarrassed writing this because as a scientist this all seems too good to be true. I am currently reading every bit of research I can find on Vit D3 . I hope you can get into permanent remission soon.

Thank you for getting back to me so soon...Today I had horrible hand and forearm cramps to the point that my fingers were locked in an unnatural position. The pain was excruciating. I tried to eat anything that had potassium in it which seemed to help. Has that ever happened to your daughter? I have started to take vit D3 in hopes that will also help. Please ANY advise/help would be appreciated.... Thanks for all your help. Tina

Hi Tina,

So sorry you are having the dreaded cramps, yes my daughter had this, it's very common, The problem is that with Nephrotic Syndrome when you lose the albumin through the kidneys it is carrying all sorts of valuable substances as its known as a molecular taxis. So you can lose all sorts minerals, hormones, fatty acids even drugs. So you can become depleted very quickly in many things. The best thing for the cramps is Magnesium, in fact its difficult to keep potassium in your cells with out it. Unfortunately with today's farming techniques ( artificial fertiliser, etc ) its difficult to replenish the lost minerals through food alone, I use a coloured sea salt that hasn't had the associated minerals removed, I also gave extra magnesium, zinc, copper and selenium as I felt that they were particularly lacking in modern foods. I also tried to give her the best diet possible. I had one mom tell me when her son is weaning off the nephrotic levels of steroids, that he has to use a wheel chair, because of the pain and muscle problems.

Start with supporting Kidneys. To reduce infection & inflammation, place a Magnetic Bed Pad in the low-back area of the K's while reclining in your living room and/or in your bed while sleeping. Next take Cranberry capsules or softgels to clear out infection. Next take Dr Christophers Kidney/Bladder herbal combination to strengthen K's.

I have read some very promising stuff about apple cider vinegar healing some on dialysis. I know it is rare, but I believe I can and will experience renal recovery. What I read is correct. The doctors and nurses will not give you any suggestions to get off dialysis, but for one they want to give false hope. But the main reason is that they will lose their INCOME if more people experienced renal recovery. One person said she didn't drink the vinegar, but laid in it every night and got "healed" in 9 months. What do you think about the vinegar?

Blackstrap Molasses fights cancer and will increase urination. I'm sorry I cannot recommend a therapeutic amount. Maybe start with one TBSP in warm water or 2% milk before going to bed. Someone else posted taking 3 tsp throughout the day but at this stage I would think starting at a larger dose first would help. I take either/or, depending on my urine flow. I read that therapeutic amounts of B-Complex also fights cancer but you have to be careful of the binders and fillers.

I totally agree that ALL of our food is genetically modified in one way or the other. None of our food is safe. It is no longer the way God created it. My kidneys were shutting down on me. I read something somewhere (that I will try to find) about Blackstrap Molasses and I tried it. It helped me. The majority of food and supplements in the health food stores is bad for you BUT I get the unsulphered BSM at the health food store and the "Real Salt" sea salt. It is the flowing/anti-caking agent in what is acceptable as table salt that is the culprit to many ailments and could be what contributes to your difficulty. This has been a piecemeal learning endeavor for over twenty years. I'm only trying to share what was wrong with me and what helped.

L: Two items that will help.

1. Take a bottle of Dr Christopher's "Kidney/Bladder" herbal complex in the recommended doses.

After two wks of the herbals, take a bottle of Raw Kidney Glandular supplement.

These two items will help clean & rebuild the kidneys.

Eating Watermelon is also good source of antioxidants and natural diuretics that are beneficial to kidney function.

This will help short term status but you need to determine the cause or underlying factors that are stressing your kidneys to such a degree.

There is a lot of things you can do. For my grand daughter since she is a child, they couldn't do much without the doctors permission. If you want to get rid of a bladder or urinary tract infection DO NOT take antibiotics. Otherwise, the infection will just keep recurring. Use a capful of organic apple cider vinegar in water and drink throughout the day. This turns your body and pH alkaline. If your body is alkaline, then bacteria, viruses and fungi die. They ONLY live in an acidic environment. Do you know that people with cancer are ALL Acidic! This is the problem in this country. We are loaded with acidic foods and wonder why disease is so prevalent.

Improve your kidney function easily with acv and baking soda

My wife is a diabetic, with hypertension and COPD and deteriorating kidney function to go along with it, as it usually does as time goes on. Though I don't remember where I read it, we discovered how to IMPROVE her kidney function, not just stabilize it. I'm pretty sure it was a European study because the 'ingredients', simple as they are, were in metrics and had to be converted. Her kidney function was down to 20% at that point.

I started giving her 1/8 tsp of baking soda with 1 tbls of acv, in a glass of water... doesn't matter how much water. In 4 months of taking this most days, she was up to 31%. That's as high as we have been able to get it, but at least it stopped falling and the prospect of needing dialysis is no longer an urgent concern.

Why the acid and alkalizer combine to work so well, I can't say, but they work well together, and have for some years.

Dear Kelly,

For someone with multiple health problems, no one may be comfortable to say for sure if coconut oil is "safe." It is a food that has helped many people with many things, so unless certain fats are restricted by your friend's doctor, it does seem a reasonable thing to try. But do get a high quality (cold-pressed) coconut oil that smells like coconut. Start with a small amount and increase as desired. A small amount being a teaspoon once or twice a day. The maximum daily recommendation for coconut oil is 3 Tablespoons a day, I believe.

My wife had been diagnosed by our DO with kidney disease. She has been diabetic for many years and doesn't take very good care of the condition. Her GFR was 38 and Doc was concerned. I personally felt that she was already on too many meds and looked for a more natural method to raise the GFR. I found on more than one website in the UK, that there have been extensive studies on the use of ACV with baking soda, with impressive results. You won't find these studies in the US because the drug companies won't make a nickel from the results. This treats the problem, not the symptom.

We consulted with Doc, to make sure the sodium wouldn't be a problem with her hypertension. Doc looked at the UK studies and said, "Give it a try."

More recent blood work has seen her GFR go from 38 to 45, and now up to 53. We are no longer waiting to be told that dialysis will be on the agenda. The combination also seems to have help bring her BP down a little bit.

Another positive note to this is that my wife had not been one who wanted to try 'natural' remedies. Now that she has seen very good positive results, she reminds me if I forget to mix up her acv/soda combo in the morning. She is now more willing to try some of my "crazy" ideas.

I would highly recommend checking out the UK studies. The reports showed that in more than one case, people had been able to stop dialysis after using the combination.

My wife takes 1 oz. of ACV with 2 oz. of water and 1/8 tsp. baking soda. We use raw ACV.

Second, take gold sea cucumber supplement on daily basis (Luxor brand is very good: Many cured of kidney disease/kidney failure).

Third, daily take beenzyme and papaya leaves containing papain (Optional: Can add on bromelain enzyme supplement) that break down protein in your body. Especially after every meal take beenzyme tablet to break down protein. Daily take papaya leaf supplement too.

U will be on your way to improve your health. Your doctor will say "You are a miracle" like my mum's kidney specialist said to/told her so.

WARNING!

I've worked with dialysis patients for years and bentonite clay has come up many times. It destroys your kidneys over a few years. The clay sticks to the inside of your nephrons. As the kidney disease advances (slowly) the nephrologist will ask you to allow them to perform a kidney biopsy, it is at this time that it is discovered that clay, acual clay, is stuck inside the millions of tiny nephrons in each kidney. Although you may see positive results, kidney disease, and evenually dialysis, is the end result.

My friend who is a diabetes type 2 was having problem with kidneys. His doctor advised him to take 500 mg baking soda tablet one in the morning and another in the evening. His kidney is working correctly. But if he stop taking baking soda tablets, his kidney is not functioning properly. Baking soda will keep the body alkaline. You may try this technique.
