Abeera,

I can tell you what has worked in oral LP of the mouth for several of us. It is probiotics that contain the BLIS K12 and BLIS M18 strains of probiotics. After brushing your teeth at night before bed, dissolve one tablet or lozenge in your mouth and don't drink any water for at least a half hour, longer if possible. I successfully used Jarrow brand lozenges, but they seem to be difficult to buy lately, so I switched to Carotec brand from Naples, Florida. These help heal the mouth but do not extend elsewhere in the body, unfortunately. One man found some healing by using 1 teaspoon of Black seed Oil daily. If you look under the ailments tab at the top of the page, Lichen Planus, you can see some suggestions from Ted and Bill that may be helpful for the LP on your skin. Best wishes.

I have lichen planus and lichen sclerosis of my penis starting in 2013. I have found that a prescription salve works as long as you continue to use it. The salve is Alcometasone Dipropionate Cream 0.05%. When I stop using it after it heals up it flares up again. I don't have it anywhere else that I am aware of.

Frank, how long did your penis lesions stay? And did they ever go away? I've had mine for over a year on and off :(

Hi Abeera,

I am so sorry to hear about the LP. I looked at the Carotec site and they do not ship to Pakistan. I found one site that ships worldwide but it looks very expensive:

http://blis.co.nz/blis-k12-throat-guard-daily-vanilla-blism18-deal.html#.UwPl6bK9KSM

The Jarrow lozenges were the best price, but I can't find any for sale now.

Maybe if you researched BLIS K12 and BLIS M18 you could find a store in Pakistan? I use the kind that contains both ingredients in one lozenge.

I am sorry that I don't know of an inexpensive place to buy these that ships to Pakistan. I will continue to search for you and will post if I find anything. Take care.

I've been suffering with Lichen Planus for 2 1/2 years and I tried everything. Oatmeal baths, tea tree oil, olive oil and leaf. I went to my doctor and she prescribed medicine to help with the incredible itching sensation. It didn't work and was referred to a dermatologist. She began saying that it wasn't as bad as she's seen in the past. She prescribed a steroid cream ans sent me on my way. Everything cleared up. Till I ran out of the steroid cream and it came back twice as bad. She then put me on a steroid pill with more creams. But, I knew it was temporary. I could feel it trying to come back. Around my eyes and mouth the top of my genitals. My legs were starting to get it at this point and my arms and my back was also covered now. Then it came to me. I use to go tanning, you know in tanning beds. Just in the spring for a month or two and only a couple times a week. I'm not a sun worshiper but, I didn't like getting a sunburn in the summer. So I would go for a short time just to create some color so I wouldn't burn. But, after I got married three years ago I decided to stop for now on, because it's not good for you anytime, and I didn't want to put myself at risk for cancer. But, like I said I've had this rash for 2 1/2 yrs now. So it became very obvious why this rash was taking over. And what was keeping it at bay for all these years.

I starting going into tanning beds or red light therapy (which is safe by the way) when I was 18 or 19 and just very little in the Spring and I stopped going when I was 31. I never had a single problem with my skin during this time. Before I went tanning ever, in high school I remember a period of time where I had this rash on my face, but then it went away after a few months and trying not wear makeup.

But, now at 34, I have this all over my body... nothing seems to hold it back. So, I decided to go tanning... for small amounts of time 5 to 8 minutes and for a month or two. Also, for only a few times a week. I've gotten through the first week and I have to say I haven't felt itchy even once! I've only gone three times and my sores are healing. All my bumps and new ones trying to form are gone! My skin is smooth. My scars are still there, but they even look better.

I know tanning beds aren't any good for you, but I look at it this way. Small amounts shouldn't hurt me and I'm wearing SPF 50 during the day. Just so I don't get additional exposure from the sun. I feel so much better.

FYI: My dermatologist was absolutely against it! She was not open to hearing this idea of tanning that could help me. My Dr wouldn't hear of it. I'm going to continue to treat my self a few times a week for two months. That should nip it in the bud, at least for the rest of the year. I hope this could be helpful to those out there suffering from this. I know how you feel.

Tea Tree Oil, Dietary Changes, Urine

I was diagnosed two months ago with lichen planus. I have the rash on my ankles, inner wrists, underside of my tongue and inside the walls of my mouth. For the itch on my ankles and wrist I rub three things on the rash that immediately stop the itch. First I rub tea tree oil on it followed by olive oil (organic) and baking soda. This is not a cure for lichen planus only a treatment for the itch.

Diet is key to controlling the intensity of the rash. Basically you have to eliminate all sugars (including honey and agave) dont eat any bread or white rice no processed food etc. you have to get super clean on your diet. I have since gone 90% raw which helps alot.

I got rid of the bumps inside my mouth and the painful lesions on the underside of my tongue by gargling with my urine. I know this might be hard to believe but google "urine therapy" and you will see that urine has a long and ancient history of being used as a medicine.

I found this very interesting been suffering with the rash on my hands, arms, feet, legs and lower back. I have been using Aloe, and had made those diet changes you talked about. However over the past few weeks, I have been eating more sugar and white flour and for sure it has flared up again. Thanks for your suggestions.

Vitamine E for Lichen Planus -- I'm going to make this short and simple. I've been dealing with stress for the past 5 years and that's when my symptoms started to show. In 2007 my first Lichen Planus breakout started to show on the inside of my wrists. I tried every medication and every cream there was. I was using vitamine E oil for my face at the time because I always read it was good for the skin so I decided to give it a try. I popped the capsule and spread the oil on the inside of my wrists and I cannot remember how they totally faded away.

I've been using it for the past 2 weeks since my recent outbreak and I have noticed a dramatic change. No itching, no redness. The rash starts to fade away by becoming brownish color. I'm using one capsule a day every day.

I do not guarantee it will work on every person because I think it depends on the severity of the outbreaks but you should definitely give it a try.

I hope it works out for all of you looking for a cure.

I tried your treatment. Vitamin K and D and baking soda. I also used borax for a couple of weeks but had such good results got lazy and quit the borax. I was two days from going to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary and was not getting better. My doctor told me not' to go.. Two days after starting treatment I had amazing results and now the lichen planus is going away. In fact the salt water in the ocean along with some sun and the treatment had amazing results. I was using all kinds of creams for itching and two days after the treatments started have not had to use any creams.. I still have a little itching but thats just from the healing of the areas. I also am taking grape fruit seed extract and that appears to be keeping any bacterial infections from starting. I am very thankfull. Doug. ps I have had toe nail fungus for four years and doctors did not want to treat. I see that I now have pink starting to show where the toenail starts growth... looks like it may be curing that also.

This is my first time to this site and I realize that a lot of poeople are very desperate to find a cure or some relief, I haven't been diagnosed yet I have an appt with a skin specialist in june. It took that long to get the appointment. It started 8 months ago with a couple of bumps on my wrists and it stayed that way till about one month ago, now it is all over my body except my face and chest. it literally is all over my body and I really get no relief unless I scratch till it bleeds. Will my body be scarred like this forever? I had really good skin till this. I have seen a couple Drs but none knew what it was I looked at pictures on the web I have it in all the classic places, that is how I diagnosed myself. What is acv and all this vit d and etc what are the dose and how to apply and/or drink or gargle. please help.

Hello Doug, Rawy, Gloria,

I also was diagnosed with Neurodermatitis which another term for Lichen Planus thru a skin biopsy. The Dermatologist now says I have Eczema and to live with it. I can not stop scratching it's unbearable and I feel like my skin is crawling and recently I would feel like I was getting bit. I started following Ted's recommendations. Raw apple cider vinegar 2 tbls with 1/8 to 1/2 tsp. of baking soda with a little water. Try to do this twice a day. I also have been taking 1/8 Borax (20 Mule Team) NOT BORIC ACID very important in 1 liter of distilled water. Drink thru out the day and when finished continue with good drinking water. This kills any "nanoinsects" I tried the methylene blue also read about this on this site! I have had this condition for at least six years. And am very anxious for it to be gone. Most of my Doctors have said it was caused by stress. Not giving me much hope and thank goodness I found this site. This is the first time in years that I feel like my skin is getting better. I feel like I have three different skin conditions going on. Yes I have eczema, but there are also patches of tiny bumps like a hives rash. The last is these red painful bumps that sometimes turn into pimples. If I don't scratch they go away. I may have parasites and this is causing the third condition. I have also started a candida free diet. Body Ecology is a good place to start. Also recommended is a thing called the zapper.Google it. Let me clarify Do the borax 4 days on 3 days off or every other day. Methylene blue I do eveyday and apply to skin this is a .01% solution with Vitamin C also.read about this!. Apple Cider Vinegar I try to do everyday!!! This has really helped! I also tried applying it to my skin. Burns and then helps with the itch. Another thing to help with itch is a high dose of Vitamin C (asorbic Acid!!!! only)5000 mg to 10,000 mg a day. I hope this helps Read all the Eczema posts! and Methylene blue. I'm also trying Tumeric for the red scars to heal! I'm also a user of food grade Hydrogen Peroxide but have not been using it during these methods but plan to go back to it soon!

I know your suffering and hope this helps!

In my above post I confused Lichin Planus with Lichen Simplex Chronicus! So sorry for this but one could try these rememdies, they are inexpensive and may help. I agree it starts from within and cleansing is always good.

Hi Gwendolyn, please clarify, I have lichen planus and I hear so many mentions of Borax (20 mule team) if I am not mistaken this is a laundry or cleaning powder? Are you saying drink this? I am not opposed, I just need to know if this is a part of the formula you are suggesting. I am simply looking for some sort of a solution to kill the parasites that invade the body causing these rashes to continue living. Thank you

I got lichen planus 8 months ago. Nothing helped until the doctor prescribed Clobex ( Clobetasol Propionate). The suggestion was to use this spray two times a day for two weeks. I only had to do this procedure for three days before the rash went away. I strongly recommend this medicine even though it is very costly. My doctor gave me a coupon which enabled me to only have to pay $140.00. I suggest if you have this problem to use this product as it is well worth the cost. Good luck!

Why ask for remedies when there are so many listed here? I make a list of remedies and then slowly go thru the list to try each one. I list them in order of how I feel they may work with my body. Good wishes!!

Lichen Planus of the skin. I have tried numerous steroids with temporary relief. There was always a re-occurance. The best home treatment is to apply a wet cloth to affected areas. Allow the cloth to remain on the lesions for at least twenty minutes. Repeat this treatment three times daily. Significant improvement noticed. Itching completely stopped.
