MRSA: i use grapefriut seed extract 125 miilagram 2 every eight hours. works twice as good as antibiotics and if you take 1 a day after that it seems to keep it away no side affects either.

Baths With Bleach

My daughter was diagnosed with recurring MRSA and one of the remedies both her doctor and her nurse recommended was adding bleach to her baths twice a week. They did not say anything about treating the boils, but it is supposed to prevent future colonization of MRSA when used in conjunction with an antibiotic regimine, daily disinfection of household surfaces, and daily laundering of bed clothes with bleach. I have read that bleach baths are also a great treatment for eczema, which my daughter also has.

Turmeric, Manuka, Tea Tree Oil, GSE

MRSA Treatment -- I just wanted to help others that have contracted MRSA by telling them what worked for me:

People seem to think that MRSA only happens in hospitals and unclean environments - think again. I'm clean, and I'm healthy. I am a professional athlete, and I contracted MRSA somehow after I fell and injured myself (road rash). I noticed I started developing a boil on my arm. It just got bigger and bigger, until my whole lower arm started to swell. I went to the ER and got a shot of antibiotics - the swelling started going down. When I got home, I went to my dr. and had the boil swabbed - tested postive for MRSA. I was prescribed 10 days of Bactrim and Bactroban antibiotic. The boil cleared up, but less than a month later I broke out with boils again. The prescribed antibiotic did not help. After reading Earthclinic, I tried the following things, and have not had an outbreak since. Turmeric (oral), Manuka Honey (oral and on the boils), Tea tree oil (nostrils and boils), and Grapefruit Seed Extract (oral). I have discontinued use of everything except the GSE - I still take 5 drops daily. For those of you reading this - don't be discouraged - take care of your body, be vigilant and you can defeat this.

I don't know about bathing with bleach but I do know that whenever I have had problems with re occurring boils adding bleach to my laundry, all delicates, it seems to help with the boils not coming back.

Baking Soda, Salt, Honey

WORKED TEMPORARILY

I have been battling with MRSA for almost a year now and am really frustrated. I have tried the baking soda and vinegar which help expedite the healing of the boil but didn't prevent me from getting them. I notice that you mention the use of honey. Is this regular honey from the grocery store or is this raw honey from the healthfood store?

Turmeric and Manuka Honey

I have tried almost everything to cure my MRSA.

Silver Biotics, Oil of oregano, ACV, diet changes, coconut oil, oil pulling, turmeric, GSE, black strap molasses, baking soda, campho, holy basil, zinc supplements, fasting, liver cleanses, manuka honey, hibeclens, kefir (acidophilus), tea tree oil, neem oil, baby powder, loose clothing, no alcohol.

The two that I have found to help the MOST (keeping the size and swelling down) have been manuka honey and turmeric. But NOTHING has stopped/cured my MRSA. It is so frustrating and makes me quite sad to have to keep going through this. My boils are heavily concentrated on my bottom. I can get up to 20 at a time just on my bottom. Sometimes they go down the backs of my thighs, but they are very limited to where they pop up.

I feel discouraged and so horrified at all the scars on my bottom. What am I doing wrong here? I eat 80% raw organic vegetables (but 100% organic all the time) I avoid alcohol and sugars. I eat meat maybe once a month. I'm absolutely at a loss and would love some help.

after suffering for 7 years, with an abcess, below the groin, and having tried everything, it would always come back leaving me in agony,
i searched the internet for all sorts of treatments, rather than take anti biotics which turn my skin yellow. i stumbled upon a site called activated oxygen i phoned them up here in the uk, and bought a pot of activated oxygen gel. i can only describe this as a miracle, i am currently on my third pot of activated oxygen, my abcess which had 5 holes, is about 97% cleared up to date, and this is only applying it topically. I am not sure if you can post links but google it and you have all the info there, it's amazing stuff.

thank you for this website....my 1 1/2 year old has been treated by doctors in the past for mrsa, this time when she got a boil (size of a golf ball) on her belly, i didnt take her to the doctors, instead i give her two 30-40 min warm baths a day, and then i waited until it came to a head, after it started to drain i put a tablespoon of baking soda and mixed it with a little water at a time until a got a nice paste, (baby didn't mind) covered it with gaze and tape. the baking soda helped drain it a lot. once the boil was down about three days later and turned into a big big crater, i stopped the baking soda and started using honey, overnight, it looked so much better its almost gone, baking soda/honey help my baby girl fight off that nasty bug ..it works!!! and its not painful for baby.

Acai Berry, Aloe, Probiotics

I gave birth to my son in 1/2007 and contracted mrsa in my blood and almost died. My son also contracted mrsa a few days after his birth on his skin. My son and I were in the hospital for a month after his birth. I ended up getting 5 additional surgeries to the c-section. I was on a wound vac and vanco and batriband, minocyclin, batrim...I tried so many drugs and never felt right and the mrsa would always come back, I was on antibiotics and IV's for 7 months and nothing worked. I was getting so frustrated!

Then, I started looking at natural cures and tried many. Finally, I found something that worked. Acai berry juice, Aloe vera juice and Udo's Choice probiotics. Take 2 oz Acai berry juice with 1oz aloe juice in the am and then again in the pm. I started out taking 12 probiotics a day 3 in the am, pm, after dinner and before bed. The first few days my body flushed out - try to start doing this on a weekend or when you are not to busy bc you will be in the bathroom for at least a day. Do this regimen for 2 weeks, then lower the juices to 1 oz of each in the am and pm and slowly reduce the probiotics (12 to 11...). If the mrsa comes back add an extra probiotic (11 to 12). After everything I tried this was the only thing that worked for me! It has been a year that I have been doing this regimen, I still drink the juices and I am taking 6 probiotics a day.
Please let me know if this works for you, if you have any questions you can e-mail me at [email protected].

I did it! I cured my son's MRSA that he was fighting for quite sometime. The boils were hurting him so bad it broke my heart. I just about came to the end of my rope when the physicians wanted to try him on another dose of antibiotics. I did my research on Allicin figured I had nothing else to loose. It took sometime to find the mg of Allicin that I was looking for (450 mg). I found some that was 490 mg and cost 1/4th as much as I was quoted at other nutritional stores. 7 pills for 5 weeks and he is cured! The doctors can't believe it. This Garlic Onion complex that I found is a LIFESAVER!! If you have trouble finding it locally please ask me and I will let you know of the company that I use. Good luck to everyone. MRSA can be beat!

Manuka Honey

I started using Manuka Honey on my outbreaks after 10 horrible months of recurring MRSA boil outbreaks, unfriendly & unhelpful doctors, painful cutting and draining. Once I received the honey I started putting a poultice of it on the boils overnight. Not a lot of honey but enough to cover the boil completely then cover it with gauze. The boils now only last 2-3 days and do not get very large. Now I need to find a way to stop getting them! At least I haven't needed antibiotics since I started using the honey which is wonderful because I became allergic to the Bactrim after 6 months of almost constant use.

Magnesium
Posted by Leah (Baltimore, MD) on 05/15/2008
★★★★☆

I am writing about all of the people who have talked about tumeric or garlic as a potential cure for MRSA.

I've been doing some studying and there is a commonality I've found in these items:

Magnesium
Tumeric: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/item/2043.html
Very high in manganese and high in magnesium.

Garlic:
http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/item/11215.html
Very high in manganese (both also very low in sugar and in fats)

French Green Clay has been touted as curing MRSA -HIGH IN MAGNESIUM

Antibiotics and poor digestive tract absorption will cause a magnesium deficiency.

Antibiotics kill off beneficial organisms in the gut, causing loose bowels, which decreases absorption.

"Antibiotics can also lower magnesium availability. Included on the antibiotic list are neomycin, tetracycline, erythromycin, ***sulfamethoxazole****, and sulfonamides.

Other medications that reduce the body's supply of magnesium include the anticoagulant drug warfarin; corticosteroids; oral contraceptives (birth control pills); and the immunosuppressant drug cyclosporine."

"Antibiotics (e.g. gentamicin and amphotericin) These drugs may increase the loss of magnesium in urine. Thus, taking these medications for long periods of time may contribute to magnesium depletion [9-10,12]."

http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/magnesium.asp

"Because magnesium plays such a wide variety of roles in the body, the symptoms of magnesium deficiency can also vary widely. Many symptoms involve changes in nerve and muscle function. These changes include muscle weakness, tremor, and spasm. In the heart muscle, magnesium deficiency can result in arrhythmia, irregular contraction, and increased heart rate. Because of its role in bone structure, the softening and weakening of bone can also be a symptom of magnesium deficiency. Other symptoms can include: imbalanced blood sugar levels; headaches; elevated blood pressure; elevated fats in the bloodstream; depression; seizures; nausea; vomiting; and lack of appetite."

www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=75

"Deficiency symptoms have three categories:Early symptoms include irritability, anorexia, fatigue, insomnia, and muscle twitching. Other symptoms include poor memory, apathy, confusion, and reduced ability to lea. Moderate deficiency symptoms consist of rapid heartbeat and other cardiovascular changes. Severe deficiency of magnesium could lead to tingling, numbness, sustained contraction of the muscles, and hallucinations and delirium. "

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002423.htm

What Magnesium does in your body:

"Magnesium: What is it?Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and is essential to good health. Approximately 50% of total body magnesium is found in bone. The other half is found predominantly inside cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% of magnesium is found in blood, but the body works very hard to keep blood levels of magnesium constant [1].

Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keeps heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong. Magnesium also helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and is known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis [2-3].

There is an increased interest in the role of magnesium in preventing and managing disorders such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Dietary magnesium is absorbed in the small intestines. Magnesium is excreted through the kidneys [1-3,4]."

http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/magnesium.asp

Also

"Magnesium ions are essential to the basic nucleic acid chemistry of life, and thus are essential to all cells of all known living organisms. Plants have an additional use for magnesium in that chlorophylls are magnesium-centered porphyrins. Many enzymes require the presence of magnesium ions for their catalytic action, especially enzymes utilizing ATP, or those which use other nucleotides to synthesize DNA and A."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnesium

Magnesium is VERY important to support a healthy immune system http://web.mit.edu/london/www/magnesium.html

Now I will say I am drawing correlations which are not scientifically proven. They are loose correlations and drawn conclusions. I am not affiliated with any health products or sites or doctors, I am not advocating the use of any health food product (it's really best to go natural with regards to vitamin intake). I have been suffering from fatigue, CA-MRSA, sleeplessness, arrythmia and bloating. I'm going to try more magnesium!

I challenge scientists to work with magnesium and MRSA.

Neosporin

I have already sent my story dealing with MRSA but I have to take issue with your cures for MRSA. There is no cure for MRSA only management. MRSA like normal staph live on the body and in moist areas such as the nose and sinus cavities. Turmeric like antibiotics works on the blood and in the body to remove the infection. There are some very powerful antibiotics and I have been on a few that do kill these infections within the body along with the good bacteria as well. I do not know if turmeric kills these good bacteria. The best way that I have found for managing my MRSA outbreaks is antibiotic ointment over the counter is perfectly fine. Put some of this on a qtip and rub in your nostrils once or twice a day. I stayed boil free for 18 months doing this and stopped for a couple of months due to surgery and in that time I had another outbreak. I have since started this again and remain boil free.

Morgellons Disease, MRSA: red wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon a day, for 3 or 4 weeks. Also garlic softgels,1000mg, 1 day a week, take five. The garlic might also be used for MRSA. This is what I use for all of my family, we do not go to doctors.

Cayenne

For Amanda from Terre Haute, Indiana. I had something festering on my leg and think it may have been MRSA - from a workout room where my shins touched a piece of equipment. I immediately put cayenne powder on it and stopped the bleeding and it healed up over the next week with that one application. I think it might be worth a try to rub cayenne powder on it to see if that might not do it.

Baths With Bleach

I have been having outbreaks for about 3 years now. I've found that when the sores are at their worst a HOT(as tolerable!)bath in a tub full of clear water and 1/2 cup of Clorox for 20-30 minutes speeds up the healing process. Afterwards invest in Lysol-and lots of it! Wash and change bedding daily and spray everything you touch with Lysol. In about 10 days you can rid all surfaces in your' home, negating the spread of MRSA infection!
