Ovarian Cyst Dosages

Hello. Thank you for your post. You indicate that dong quai, echinacea and molasses are good supplements to combat ovarian cyst. However, I've found that there are different milligrams for each supplement. Which is best and what should the dosage be? Thank you.

Hello

I started using the beets, apple cider and blackstrap molasses mixture about a week ago. The day I started using it I saw blood but my period was suppose to be due in 4 days time so I thought it came early. The thing is I have not stopped bleeding since then. It's day 10 today and I am still bleeding. My period usually last for 7 days. I have a small fibroids and cyst on my two ovaries. Should I stop taking the mixture. I am so confused now.

How long do you have to take ACV or any other remedy to see results? I am desperately trying to avoid surgery but I have been taking ACV for close to 3 months now with no significant results.

Hi Margaret,

I have started taking the supplements. I stopped eating regular foods except for vegetables and fruits. I drink a lot of water. I have been feeling a little bit pains on that spot but can be ignored.

Please, I know 2017 was a long time ago. Do you remember if you felt constipated? I am so constipated. I have to been eating much of pear and grapefruits before I am able to get Bowel Movement.

Or was the TOTAL PER DAY 1,130mg and 400mg respectively?

Please read up on Lugol's iodine (or iodoral) for ovarian cysts. You can find info from Dr. Brownstein, an expert on iodine and glandular disorders, including ovarian cysts. Lugol's drops will be much cheaper than iodoral tablets. I believe the recommended starting dosage is typically 25-100 mg a day until iodine deficiency is treated. Ovarian cysts can sometimes disappear without any medical intervention.

Hi,

I hope someone reads this. Last month I went to the emergency room in agony and was told that my ovary was twisted, he seemed to assume I knew about it, well in any case today I went to a Gynecologist who informed me that it is the size of an"ORANGE".

Well I had been to see him four yrs ago and apparently he told me about the cysts, yet didn't say, "I want to keep an eye on these, see you in 3 months" or whatever, so now they want to perform a complete hysterectomy,

Also, I'm 70 yrs old and have never had an operation, I am petrified, do you think that the ACV and Molasses would help me?

While I was still having a period I never had cramps, they could boil me in oil and I would start every 28 days, so this really came out of left field,

I hope someone reads this, hugs Lillian

Nelson,

How did this work for your wife? I was diagnosed with an ovarian teratoma a few months ago (skin, hair, teeth, bone, etc) when I had a catscan in the ER from an accident. An MRI a week ago showed it was larger and that some other type of cyst is now growing in my other ovary. I have been told surgery is the ONLY option. I have been taking BSM for months to no avail. Added ACV daily a week ago as well as castor oil packs. I think I'm going to either start mixing the castor oil with DMSO or take a small dose of DMSO daily orally. For pain, NOTHING works as well as topical DMSO (and this includes prescription pain meds). I don't know what else to try. I'm already taking flax/fish/borage oil, serrapatase, dandelion root, millk thistle, turmeric, garlic, and some others (B's, potassium, etc).????

I have follicular cysts of different sizes in both ovaries and I have a thyroid condition also, have 125 mcg thyronome everyday. My gyno told me it's very normal and it's not a tension as if now, I should wait and watch it will go away. This report is 2 months old and now I am having some sort of pain in pelvis and I am freaking out. I am overweight too but I always have my periods regularly except once 4 years back that too for 1 month. Should I try it out? And what amount should I take and at what time? I am 24 yrs old. Please help!

Dear Aisha,

I don't know how long apple cider vinegar will take to dissolve what remains from the cyst. But many people do use it daily on a long term basis and find it helpful for a multitude of female and other problems.

If you are still having pain, I have found castor oil packs or charcoal poultices to work wonderfully for cyst pain. I use them for a couple of hours or over night. Just do not use a castor oil pack during your period. Charcoal poultices are okay any time.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Blackstrap Molasses
Posted by Mama to Many (Tennessee) on 04/09/2015

Dear Shona,

Is the pain in your pelvis and leg a new symptom since your last ultrasound? I am concerned about this because this type of pain can indicate a torsion of a cyst. When I had a torsion, I did have surgery. You can lose part of the ovary with an untreated torsion.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Blackstrap Molasses are both easy and safe things to try. They have helped many with cysts.

I would also add charcoal poultices over the ovary area overnight 4-5 nights a week. They have helped me with cysts and also help the pain.

How to Make a Charcoal Poultice

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hello Mama...

Can you tell me if it is normal to be in extreme pain after starting the ACV, Molasses, beets, ginger, lemon, honey for ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids? I can hardly move at this point and I don't want anything to burst and end up in ER...I'm hoping it's just inflammation and taking aloe vera gel straight from the plant will remedy this pain...My thinking is that I need to go slower, perhaps less ingredients too...I just don't feel natural healing should hurt this much.. What are your thoughts?? Thank you very much and God Bless.

Hi all,

For all those who used apple cider vinegar and black strap molasses to get rid of your cysts - what types of cysts did you have?

I have a complex cyst (not the cancerous type, but it could turn malignant in the far future), around 3 cm that I've had for at least four years. I've heard that functional cysts are much easier to get rid of than complex ones, so not sure if it's even worth trying this or if I should just give up and have surgery as the doctor recomended.

Posted by Mama To Many (Tennessee) on 12/24/2014

Dear Resh,

It seems that Blackstrap Molasses is helpful for many with cysts. For me, it is something I would want to try.

You might also want to try charcoal poultices over the ovary with the cyst at night. Here is a link to a story about a woman who use charcoal therapy for a cyst and endometriosis. Castor oil packs may also be a good option. I have used both for many things and always find them helpful. (Castor oil packs should not be used during menses, however.)

(The story is about half way down the page of the link above.)

If you decide to try castor oil or charcoal, I can share some more links with more information about how to use them.

Essential Oils
Posted by Bluessky777 (New York, US) on 11/28/2014

Hi, Momma to Many mentioned Frankincense oil can help treat an ovarian cyst. Can you recommend any other excellent essential oils to try? I was reading about Vetiver essential oil, do you think that would help?

Thanks

Essential Oils
Posted by Mama To Many (Tennessee) on 11/28/2014

Dear Bluesky777,

I would not rule out that Vetiver would be helpful for cysts, but I have not found any research to support its use for cysts.

Heritage Essential Oils sells a blend for ovarian cysts that contains frankincense, geranium and cypress. So, geranium and cypress might be worth a try.

However, my first choice would be frankincense since I have seen it work first hand in my family for cysts. I had an ovarian cyst that felt like an egg. (I could feel it from the outside! ) I used frankincense and castor oil on it and by the time I went for an ultrasound a couple of weeks later, that cysts was dramatically reduced.

So, castor oil alone may be an effective and inexpensive treatment for ovarian cysts. (Since Frankincense is more expensive and not as easy to find as castor oil.) I put it on a cloth over the ovary area, covered it with plastic wrap and then put a heating pad over that area over my bedclothes and slept that way for several hours each night. (Heating pad needs to be on the lowest setting.) Castor oil should not be used during menstruation, though. I was using frankincense on the area each morning. So, I can't say for sure which contributed more to healing.

Heat Application
Posted by Shrink Big Cyst (Constitution, Oregon, Usa) on 10/07/2014
★★★★☆

Greetings. My suggestion for instant relief of almost any pain, but especially a big cyst, is to apply HEAT! From any source. My choice is to wear a hot water bottle; I underestimated the healing benefits until I relapsed into 2 out of 10 health for the last week. My genius husband thought to use a back brace to leave me hands free. A large purse could probably work well. Now, I strap it on two or three times a day. I can also lay on my stomach with the hot water bottle on my spot; I can lay on my stomach for the first time in eighteen months! I apply castor oil on my belly, wrap the bottle in a towel, and have faith that the oil helps pull out toxins.

My question is when the cyst bursts or tears, other than the pain, is a relief of breathing felt? When my three babies were born the water leaking was instant relief. I currently feel in the last month of pregnancy, like I am carrying a 6 pound baby; I felt worse in the last 18 months, like sometimes I am carrying our 10 pound son. Do women experience heavy periods with clots or does the cyst dissolve slowly into bowel movements?

I look forward to reading more posts about the science and the process of healing, especially I want to know about maintaining cyst-free. I thought different times in the last 9 months since the removal of my IUD that I was cyst free. I juice fasted for a total of more than 70 days, in 7-10 day periods and felt relief. I am proactive with a 80% raw and 100% vegan diet. I supplement with herbs, warm teas, and iodine. Does anyone have experience with deep tissue massage, could I penetrate the cyst and poop it myself? I hope... What about acupuncture, acupressure? Thanks for your time and consideration.

Posted by Vani (Singapore) on 11/10/2013

Hi, I have 1 cyst measuring 7.8cm in my left ovary and 2 cysts measuring 4.3cm and 4.6cm in my right ovary. I have been taking beetroot, molasses and aloe vera 1st thing in the morning, once a day. I don't feel any changes in the sizes of the cysts so far. but within 3 days after taking this I felt good. I started feeling like increased blood count and it's circulation. and yes inceased energy level. within 6-7 days, pain in ovaries is gone. today is the 10th day of taking this tonic, I woke up at about 4.30am in the morning and am still awake until 11pm. energy level has increased. I have been having only vegetables, wholemeal bread and fish for the past 15 days. no sugar, no rice, no refined flour and no coffee. I have been taking vit B complex and vit C and drinking almost 3 litres of plain water per day, for the past 1 month.

My questions are - is it too early to expect changes in the cysts? I understand that I have to do this treatment for 40 days. at night I started to feel that, the cysts are softer. but by morning they become harder. do I need to change my diet? if I do castor oil pack, do I need to get cold pressed castor oil or normal castor oil will still help to shrink the cysts?

I had Overian cyst last year and I got completely cured. The only thing I was taking Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda first thing in the morning with empty stomach. I was taking 1/4 tea spoon baking soda and one spoon ACV. It took me almost 9months to complete cure of my overian cyst. I am still taking it couple of times a week to prevent my self. I changed my diet and doing excercise. You can also watch video on you tube for cancer cure they use baking soda. ACV and Baking Soda completely wash out your system or any other digestion problem from inside.
Good Luck.

Dear Priscy,

Do you have fever or bleeding or other symptoms?

I read some of the stories on the ovarian cyst page here at Earth Clinic and a lady named Bethany had a similar experience... You might read that first page of ovarian cysts to read her story.

I don't think the vinegar and molasses would cause a new problem. Perhaps they are causing things to happen too fast in your body. You might try taking a break from them both for a couple of days, then try one or the other and see how you respond.

Charcoal poultices have been used to treat both of your conditions sucessfully and might be helpful to you now while you are having worse symptoms. Charcoal is good at helping with pain and inflammation. If you can get some activate charcoal powder, you can make a poultice to place over your abdomen where you have pain. Charcoal must be wet to work. You would mix ith with water (or with flax seed and water) to make a paste. spread it on a paper towel and cover with another towel. Place on your abdomen and cover with plastic (to keep in the moisture. ) I would do this for an hour twice a day, and even overnight for several days. (To use it to cure cysts and fibroids, you might need to treat for many weeks.)

You can also take charcoal internally - 2 t. in a glass of water.

Try to drink plenty of water or herbal tea as dehydration will make the pain worse.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I will be praying for your relief.

Foods to Avoid

Question: Is it possible that carrot juice is making my ovarian cyst [aka tumor] bigger?

Starting on 08/04/2013, I began to live primarily on fresh vegetable juice that I make myself and a small amount of legumes [beans, lentils, tofu, and yuba]*. Initially, I started out with juicing 6 red beets, celery, and limes daily. Immediately I was encouraged by how I felt – besides more energy, I literally felt my giant ovarian contracting and softened. All of these feelings were short-lived; soon I felt my waist was expanding. I persisted and on 08/12/2013, I began adding 10-15 glasses of fresh carrot juice PLUS parsley and green apples while decreasing the numbers of beets to 2 – 3 daily. Yet, my ovarian cyst seemed to have hardened, and I felt bloated all the time. I am not giving up this routine, and a few days ago I began drinking apple cider vinegar (2 tablespoons), black strap molasses (1 tablespoon), and cayenne (. 25 to. 5 teaspoon) three times a day.

The fact of the matter is, according to my measuring tape, my waist increased from 33.5” to 35” since 08/04/2013.

What's going on? Am I just going through a phase [aka shock]?

*I have completely stopped taking all forms of sugar [except for green apples which Ted approves], salt, oil [except for small amount of coconut oil], dairy, meat, animal-proteins, gluten, flour, all the food banned by Ted.

Dear Ugobekee,

I am so sorry about the pain you are having with your cyst. You should keep up the Apple Cider Vinegar. You can also add 1 Tablesppon Blackstrap molasses daily. This is wonderful for pregnancy anyway. If I take Blackstrap daily when pregnant, I won't get anemic. And it is helpful for cysts. But it takes some time and you need some pain relief now.

I have had pain from ovarian cysts and have used Frankincense Essential Oil and Charcoal poultices to help the pain, and they did help me.

Frankincense Essential Oil is safe for pregnancy and is very helpful for ovarian pain and cysts.. Frankincense is not cheap--but a little goes a long way if you can get some. (Try to find it 100% oil and not diluted.) Massage 1-2 drops on the skin over the pained area. You can do this a few times a day.

Another thing you can do is try charcoal poultices. You can apply them overnight. If you go to the Activated Charcoal page on this website, you will find in the index, "How to Make a Charcoal Poultice." Charcoal Poultices reduce inflammation and also reduce cysts and help with pain. Make the poultices about 3inches by 3 inches. (The charocoal part. The towel you use may be 4-5 inches by 4-5 inches.) You do not want to make a really big poultice and you don't want it over the liver, as it would draw out toxins. That isn't a good idea when pregnant. But it you make them 3x3 and just put them over the ovary, you will not be putting the poultice over the liver area.

Please let us know how it goes!

To Frednal,

From Nigeria;

Re your ovarian cyst...go to Earth Clinic's "Ailments" section and scroll down to the "o" and find "ovarian cyst"...

Ted has good helps and one lady had an interesting remedy just before Ted's post.

Dear Ugbokee,

I'm so glad to read about your safe delivery. I was so scared at first when I saw the cyst was getting bigger and I was all smiles and filled with relief when I saw it worked. You just have me hope.

Please tell me how you did your combination.. in what measurements?

Thank you.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant. I went for u/s last week which showed the cyst has increased from 12cm to 16cm. The gynecologist said show suspects cancer and wants me to go for surgery. I prefer natural cure. Pls, what will I do to make sure that I have vaginal child birth and to shrink the cyst permanently?

Dear Ugobekee,

Hi there! You have been dealing with this your whole pregnancy, I believe? (I couldn't find your other posts, but I think we have talked about this.) I am wondering if you have tried anything regularly to try and reduce the cyst?

Do you have the option to get a second opinion and/or see a midwife? Usually midwives tend to be more willing to help mothers have vaginal births, even when they have certain health risks. (With my second child, I had a doctor who wanted to schedule a c-section, but I was able to safely deliver at home with a skilled midwife.)

If you end up having a c-section, I am wondering if it would make sense to go ahead and have the cyst removed, if that is what they are thinking. It might be easier to do that than trying to reduce a cyst while trying to enjoy and breastfeed your newborn. Just a thought.

Hi Pri,

When reading your statement I can see myself it it. I have been through a surgery to remove an large ovarian cyst in my right ovary 6 years ago and in 2013 I went for an ultrasound and discovered that I have several cysts in my left ovary. I didn't want to go through surgery again and the doctor prescribed me contraceptive pills but I couldn't see any change in my status

I did not do an ultrasound at all in 2014 and now on 2015 I decided to overcome my fear and did a check up and it turns out that now I have only one large cyst of 8cmx7cm and the doctors is telling me to remove it by surgery as it will not shrink. I don't want to go through surgery again, I am scared! I want to try everything possible way to shrink it. Please keep me updated with what happened to your cyst. I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar and molasses but I was not regular. Now I decided to fight this cysts as I would be grateful if some of you can give me hope if you found a large cyst of 8 cm shrink. Thank you

Cynthia,

Food grade H2O2 works like magic. My wife had very bad ovarian cysts when I first met her. It was so bad that she could not even have a period for over three years. Thankfully, I was an alternative health guy and had her take H2O2 . Drop 4 to 5 drops of H2O2 in an 8 ounce glass of water. The water has to be either distilled or completely purified, or RO water. Otherwise the extra oxygen will unite with the contaminants and you will lose the H2O2. Drink in the morning on empty stomach. Start once or twice a day, then increase to 3 to 4 times. or you can increase the drops from 5 to up to 8 drops. Google food grade hydrogen peroxide 35%. but don't ever use 35% always diluted it to about 3 %. Good luck

Kal_el, I just read your post replying to Cynthia on 2/22/15 re: H202 for dissolving ovarian cysts. You said you introduced it to your wife because she had a severe problem with ovarian cysts. I would like to know did H202 rid your wife of her cysts. I too suffer from repeated ovarian cysts. I presently have one that is huge and the doctor wants to surgically remove it.

Please share with me how long I should take H202 and if your wife is cysts free now. Thanks for your post and I will await your reply.

Hi Pearl. Has the ACV and BSM drink helped a lot in maintaining the Endometrial Hyperplasia Atypical Complex? I was also into Megace but was asked by my doctor to stop it coz it greatly thinned the uterus lining. Want to try this drink as a substitute for Megace. Please respond soon. Thanks!

I also have ovarian cysts on both ovaries. I have been getting Accupunture treatments and they have been quite helpful. I also started recently ACV. I take them in tablets. After reading all the comments, I checked Amazon for blackstrap molasses, they have them in tablets also. Would the tablets be equally helpful?

Thanks

Dear Sonia,

I checked on Amazon and saw Blackstrap molasses tablets, by Swanson. It looks like people have found them helpful for anemia. I checked the label on the tablets and they add iron to them. It is possible that is why they are helping anemia. Since blackstrap molasses has many nutrients and I am not sure which one (perhaps it is a combination) is so helpful for female issues, I would hesitate to say they will work as well. It seems unlikely that

you would get nearly as much of the many nutrients out of a tablet as you would out of a tablespoon of blackstrap. I certainly appreciate that they would be easier to take. Blackstrap isn't my favorite thing to take. The best way, I think is to put it into some milk.

Also, since they have added iron, it wouldn't be safe to take many of them a day to get more blackstrap into your daily diet.

Sonia: I bought some BSM tablets for the convenience, but I think these tabs are a combination of BSM & Iron, probably for people w/ low Iron issues only.

Try and find the "ingredient listing" and see if there is added iron as it's not good to have too much of this mineral.

I have been taking the ACV and molasses (8 oz of water, 1 TBSP of organic Blackstrap Molasses, 1 TBSPS of Organic ACV) twice a day for 2 weeks, and the pain from my large anterial ovarian cyst is all but gone! HOWEVER, I am going through one awful digestive ordeal. Gurgly stomach, gas, bowel with undigested bits (gross- sorry), nausea and stomach cramps. Its not constant, and at moments I feel fantastic, but when it hits, it hits hard. Once or twice throughout the day, and I'm losing 2-3 hours of sleep each night. Is this normal?? Help!!

It could be that you are having a cleansing reaction- sometimes called die off. There could be parisites or candida in your GI tract, just stick to a strict diet with very little sugar ect... Keep up the good work!

What Julie from Wharton NJ is experiencing is because of iron and Magnesium (Mg) content of blackstrap molasses. Every individual has different dose that would work for them & whenever in little excess, it will cause gargling sounds and lose bowel movements with or without mild cramps. This is because Mg increases gut motility and that's why its used as a treatment for constipation (Milk of Magnesia).
Just cutting down on dose a little will solve this issue as rightfully advised by someone here before.

To the person from Bear, Del. Looking for Organic Blackstrap Molassas, you can find it at any Giant Food Store, Whole Foods and Trader Joes. At Giant, just look in the organic food isle.

I don't know what grocery stores are in your area, but here in Washington the Safeway carries it on the syrup isle, and the Fred Meyer carries it in the baking section.

Just make sure it says "unsulphered". It costs less than five dollars a bottle here, and a bottle lasts about a month or so, depending on how much you use.

Good luck. :-)

Hi, I'm 5 weeks pregnant with 3cm cyst on right ovary. The OB told me that I need operation at third month of pregnancy, but I don't want to undergo operation while pregnant. It may put my baby at risk.

I want to try the ACV but afraid that if the cyst popped, the blood and fluid inside it will affect the baby. Is it safe for cyst to popped while your pregnant?Any advice? Thanks

Hello I read about your cyst and being pg. I had appendicitis when I was a little less than 4 mo. pregnant. I also had worked in surgery-- passing instruments. I would say-- try not to be scared-- find a good surgeon to do the Procedure. I worked with them-- so I knew who would be fast (less time out (asleep) but of course be a good quick surgeon. I would NOT have it done Laproscopically-- even if they offered. Choose a do regular incision-- it should be small and low and that type of inscision will give the surgeon better exposure. It will make it easier to see what they need to see, do what he needs to do --but get In & Out quickly. AFTER surgery-- take as little as you can -- for pain relief since you are NOT yet 4 months. This will be the first of many sacrifices you will make for youth child! I had never had surgery-- So I made sure everyone knew how concerned I was--mostly for a healthy baby. For your own knowledge-- find out what is being formed during the week you're due to have surgery ie. eyes, hearing etc. To give you some incentive-- to avoid drugs as much as possible. Make sure you have someone with you who can remind everyone-- that your goal is a happy healthy baby. I told the floor nurse and my husband I wanted the least drugs possible. I did endure more (but tolerable) pain--but it was worth it 6 months latter-- when my daughter was born just fine. It has now been---years ago. Good Luck Mommy--You can do it! PG 4 months --would have been safer --but a ruptured appendix (or ovary in your case) would be far worse for everyone-- due to a possible infection, a rupture is messy to clean up and would mean more time "Asleep". Been There,

Pam M

Hi Nicole, I am exactly at your situation right now. I just had my surgery last week and lost my left ovary. Before the surgery doctors told me that my right ovary is perfectly fine. But while surgery, they found out that even my right ovary has a 6cm cyst, they talked to my husband and told him that they can remove both my ovaries but he said no and asked them to preserve it. I am just 27 and have no kids. I feel so shattered. I dont know what to do. I still donno if the removed one was cancerous or not. I am still waiting for my final results.

Dim, Flaxseed, Chckweed
Posted by Aquarelle (West Coast, America) on 06/01/2012

My naturopath recommended DIM supplements (pill form) in the treatment of ovarian cysts. She recommended it for at least 3 months along with Vitex (chasteberry) to 'reset' my system. DIM is an estrogen blocker, extracted from cruciferous vegetables (like cauliflower) and I've read a few comments suggesting adding those into the diet which is a great idea too.

In addition to this, she suggested I take either ground flaxseeds or psyllium husks daily or on a regular basis in order to flush the system and keep things moving. She said that this is a big help with ovarian cysts.

I can say that a 'complex' cyst that was found back in December had found to be decreased in size in March, and just last week was no longer there. Although I am now also using a Chickweed tincture (as recommended by Susan S. Weed) because I wanted to shrink this cyst, the DIM and vitex are what was in use at the time of this 'shrinking' cyst. So that is promising.

But...they did discover I have a 'new' cyst. And my issue may not be about shrinking them as they come and go, but... How to keep them from recurring. And I believe that perhaps a large part of my issue has to do with stress. I have had my share (haven't we all) as I am also recovering from Adrenal Fatigue.

I looked up 'stress' and 'cysts' online and found a few interesting articles... Of course we all know what stress can do. I believe that this was a big dot to connect as I can pinpoint major stress events and what followed, though it's not a perfect pattern. Just a thought to throw out there. There is so much mystery surrounding ovarian cysts it's really very unfair.
