WORKS! My twins had scabies from the day care weeks ago and we learned Permethrin is not what I want to expose my bpys to. So I researched on the Earth Clinic website and found this recipe but I changed it a little. 1. Wet skin with natural hand sanitizer made with Thymol extract)
2)first layer with ORANGE OIL
3)second layer raw organic COCONUT OIL.
4) third layer TEA TREE OIL (now brand)
5) within 5 minutes the scabies literally crawled out by the hundreds (scary),
6) leave oil mix on skin for at least 30 minutes,
7) soak in shower and watch the mites run down the drain, and wash with Sulpher soap. 8) disinfect entire home with 1 percent hydrogen peroxide spray and Borax solution (can also spray skin with this). Use borax to spindle on carpet and then vacuum a few days later. 9) Rinse and Repeat
10) RELAX! ... Please follow these 10 easy steps and soon you will be posting the good news. Like I did for twin boys! No more scabies! Yaaaeeeeeee and my boys are safe from pesticide toxicity!

I want to let every know that this recipe works for scabies! We used it here on a seer of 7 year old twin boys! We included Sulpher soap and a spray of borax and hydrogen peroxide. As to the comment of "watch them crawl out" I think that was to make a point. So much safer and better than using insecticides! Everything was easy to get. I live in Livonia, Mi and there is a health food store here that has wonderful staff who helped me and told me how to use all these. Like the tea tree is so good to add a drop into my kids hair after shampoo to deter the little critters. Also coconut oil used for moisturizer and cooking, orange oil to clean my wood floors.... All these things I can use for multle purposes! I love this site and thank you for posting this recipe for scabies. Who would of knew? Coconut oil, tea, tree, orange oil, borax, Sulpher soap.... So easy and effective.

Jd, if I am the Tim you question. I used to always experience the "dryness" thing w/ tetracycline type antibiotics as opposed to the penicillin type. It's something to do w/ hydration at the cellular level. Do a few cups daily of filtered water w/ a pinch of sea salt in each to replace minerals. Steam therapy will help ease the bronchiole and the herb Mullein will soothe & heal. Take some probiotics (broad spectrum) to replace gut flora. Wait about two weeks and try the ACV again.

Your "reaction" could have something to do w/ candida die-off or herx. After yrs of debilitating struggle w/ undiagnosed fungal infection and getting worse, I tried the "foot bath zap" a few months ago and herxed for 4 days. My reaction was like yours, I became completely drained of energy and simply went into sleep mode for about 1 or 2 hrs. As for antifungal herbs, Grapefruitseed extract is the best imho. Caprylic acid or simply coconut oil is very good antifungal.

Hope this helps.

Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, Coconut Oil

I broke out about 3 weeks ago, just because my nephew sat on my rocking chair then left with his father, only to find out that he had scabies. I never knew anything about scabies till I got it and saw the symptoms, itching around ankles, elbows wrists, inner thighs, stomach (which I found out on the computer) so I went to the doctor after 3 days of scratching, and yes I used the cream, once a week for 2 weeks, the first time I thought I was cured because their was relief for 5 days but started scratching for the next 2 days then I used it again (as per doctors instructions) but it got worse, I couldn't stand the itch and I looked at my skin and there were burrows everywhere.

So I came on here and decided to do the bleach and water, hot shower first then sprayed and it was burning for a little bit on the rashed up areas but would go away after being totally drenched in it, but I was ok and I washed it off in hot water after 10mins (I know this is way too quick but tomorrow will be longer) as I did this at 2am and need to get to bed. The results are amazing, no scratching no crawly feelings and I blow dried myself instead of using a towel, I will be carrying this bottle everywhere I go and I have even thrown everything that I have worn and slept on in the machine with bleach and hot water and putting it in the dryer, big house cleaning will be next and I will be throwing out the mats, covering furniture with plastic so it is easy to clean (after I spray it) then I will be visiting my brother and nephews and I will be spraying them too or they will not be allowed back in my house.

Homeopathy: Psorinum 30

[Slightly long, sorry] Cm from Wilmington, Nc asks: "Any other advice on this treatment for scabies?

Re: other advice on the treatment of scabies - as soon as Psorinum does its work, if the hair isn't back, you'll notice that another homeopathic miasm, the Syphilitic miasm, rears its ugly head. Some dogs seem to inherit it at birth which is responsible for the bone and nervous disorders (incessant biting, itching, barking, irritability, restlessness), black patches, rupia, sores and eczema that accompany scabies. You can approach a good homeopath or go very carefully through the symptoms and treat it with Kali iod 6x, Aur met 6x and Nitric Acid 6x.

The way I recognise the Syphilitic miasm is by the waxing and waning of the symptoms with the moon cycle - its at its worst on full moon and a few days before a thunderstorm.

I'm beginning to think that this syphilitic tendency is the primary cause that draws the fleas, mites and fungus to the body (parasites after all can't live on a healthy host). Removing the parasites without removing the primary destruction is pointless.

Psorinum clears the case if it is simple or else shows the way to the deeper problem.

I hope that helps.:)

Cm and Jo, Sorry for not replying. Yes, 2 pellets of Psorinum 30c or 30x is more than enough for 2 months. Then you can repeat it. Acts as a preventative too. I've healed about 6 dogs with scabies with Psorinum 30.

I've had a few problems with moving up to Psorinum 200 (as Peter Morell suggests) that I'll explain:

1. Psor 200 brings up very deep aggravations of hidden diseases. If they're cancerous or have a systemic infection or failing organs, you'll see their entire body throws it out onto the skin, conditions which last for months. I've come to feel a dog's life is so short that there's no justification for going deeper.

2. Psorinum has an amplified effect in the fall. It is a very powerful remedy working for months on end so be warned.

Just stick with a couple of doses of Psorinum 30 spaced 3-6 months apart and the hair should grow back easily. Don't go higher unless you have a homeopath to advice.

Hi, Recently a puppy came into my yard that was real sick. I felt so sorry for him that I took him to the vet. They gave me vitamins, antibiotic for him and sent him on his way said he just was sick that is why he was losing his hair. Well, the doc was wrong he had sarcoptic mange, which is scabies and guess who got them me. I have spent 300 dollars on this dog and my family trying to get rid of them. We ran out of money to treat the dog or ourselves so I went online looking for help. I tried the borax and peroxide that helped somewhat.

The vet gave the dog ivermectin and the borax and peroxide baths seems to help. You have to keep your bedding washed and dried everyday you need a mattress cover. Wash them in borax and hot water. I spray everything down with lice spray.

P.S. don't let pets in area until dry and cover food and water well before spray. My mom's dog drank her water after I sprayed and got real sick almost died and I didn't even spray it near the water. I vacuum everyday. My husband and I have so far been able to keep the scabies to just us and the dog. We have my special needs son and my mom and dad live with us and they have not gotten it Thank God. We started using Germ x hand sanitizer on our bodies everytime we felt a little itch we would put it on that spot on top of lice treatment shampoo we put that on at night before bed and leave on for 8 or more hours. We started to get rid of them. I slacked off for 2 days and we got reinfested really fast so we are back on the germx washing and vacuuming and lice shampoo and borax baths for pup and us and it is going away again. All I have to say is keep it up it might take a while but I believe we are on the right track I pray do not slack off- those buggers reinfest fast. ps. puppy is a white long haired 6 month old poodle that is so sweet and smart I think he is the best dog our family is ever had Now if we could just get rid of the bugs that came with him.

Best remedy yet!! I was covered from head to toe with this horrible disease. I tried two seperate all Natural programs on the internet. One with no help and the other one I just couldn't handle the smell of sulfur. It is 3 weeks later and I still smell sulfur in my clothes and towels. I then started my Permithen 5%. Two episodes a week apart with some results but not enough to make me happy or actually sleep through the nite. I then found this site after reading from another blog site that one doctor said the true way to kill the Scabies is bleach and water. The doctor said that bleach penetrates the skin and the chlorine kills the mites on contact.

I read some of these comments and decided what do I have to lose. It's been two days and I am pretty Damn happy with the results. Two days and dried up Probably 75% of the mites, just be careful it can burn a little but well worth it. I will stick with the Bleach and Water. Good Luck!

I am fully cured now! Here's an update on how I did it. I found that using sulfur daily decimated my skin. So, I mixed sulfur powder with vaseline and applied it from the neck down and then hung out, on a sheet, in front of the tv for an afternoon. I probably left the sulfur mix on for 4 hours or so.

I bought some diatemaceous earth which is a natural insecticide. I dusted my mattress, area rugs, couch, and my car with that.

I washed my linens daily and placed all of my dirty laundry in a plastic garbage bag to keep it seperate from everything else. I washed my clothing in hot water, adding borax to the wash.

I showered or bathed daily. I used Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Oil liquid soap. I kept a small container of a mix of borax and sulfur next to the shower. I mixed it with the liquid soap and used it as a scrub.

After showering I would use an oil mixture of clove, neem, orange, and tea tree. I used vitamin e oil as the carrier oil and found that it worked better than coconut oil because it is thicker and therefore coated my skin better.

I took a hot bath in salted water every other day instead of a shower. I noticed that the salt water bath did wonders for any bites I had. I used sea salt. The improvment over the course of a week was dramatic!

I have not had any new bites in over a month. I will continue with the oil treatments and the tea tree oil soap, but have stopped using sulfur and borax as a scrub.

It is such a relief that I am cured. However, my skin is scarred and ruined from their bites. This has been such an awful experience, but I wanted to let everyone suffering know that there is light at the end of the tunnel! You can beat this!

Good luck and keep at it.

This is a life altering pest. Now I check my skin daily for anything unusual. The doctors don't understand these little invisible monsters. I've tried the internal pill and the 5% cream. Here's what worked best for me.

1) Purchase over the counter Lice treatment (1% Permethrin), Nix or store brand, RID can burn.
2) Before bath cover head and neck with Sublimed Sulfur and Petroleum Jelly or Vic's Vapor Rub mix - avoid eyes and mucous membranes.
3) Mix Neem oil-cold pressed(10 drops), Eucalyptus essential oil(10 drops), 1 tablespoon of salt and Olive oil(1/4cup) then pour into hot tub and soak for a minimum of 30 minutes
4) While in tub gently rub an ex foliating brush from your toes to your neck to get the oil mix to cover your entire body. - If they are on your neck and head rub there as well.
5) Wash completely off with Peppermint Castle soap.
6) Dry off some but stay damp, rub in Nix from head to toe, leave on for 8-10 hours. During this time use a blow dryer on areas that itch. If you feel a burning sensation Wash off immediately.
7) Re-apply Nix a second time for another 8-10 hours and repeat steps 2-6.
8) Worn clothing should be placed in a plastic bag for washing in Hot water and adding 1 tablespoon of Borax w/ soap powder to each load
9) Iron clothing before wearing, wipe down everything you've touched with a damp hot rag and detergent, vacuum often/w heppa filter. Steam clean furniture and bedding.
10) If you see a spot on your skin start to itch and see a red dot you can also use Clove Bud Essential oil and a Que tip applied directly to the spot and hold for a minute. It kills the buggers dead. Be very careful with this oil, it will burn your skin.

I did all of the hygiene ideas recommended--washed all my clothes and linens in hot water with anti- bacterial soap, threw my bedspread in the trash, etc. And I did 2 rounds of the medicine my doctor gave me-- Permethrin.

However, I honestly think the bleach cleanser (bleach and water) I tried one night was the actual cure. It stopped the itching immediately and after applying it directly to my skin for a couple of nights, the mites are gone. This has only gone on for a week for me. My heart goes out to those of you who have been dealing with it so long. I'm a health care professional and have been around scabies-infected people for years but never got it until now. I was infected with scabies from having sex with a man who does not have the symptoms. He must just be carrying it. Anyway, I don't care if the bleach is bad for your skin as long as I'm cured. This has been a nightmare. Good luck everybody.

How to get rid of scabies/mites. I had a bad attack, with bites all over. I went to the chemist who gave me a cream to put all over my body after a shower and leave on for 24 hours, but still had the crawling sensation. A cleaning guru in Australia had mentioned that orange juice is a cure for head lice, so I bought an orange and washed myself with it (undiluted) including my hair. I haven't had a bite since. If I felt 'something' I bought some roll on personal insect spray and rolled it all around where the sensation was, because I was so badly bitten there would have been extra mites hanging around. Have not been bitten in 2 days. Apparently it's the citrus juice - it gets right under your skin. Grapefruit and lemon juice are apparently better.

There are two types of scabies, but it is the same "bug. " The first type is simple to cure with a cream or pill from the doctor or whatever method you use. The second type is crusted scabies in the beginning stages. A person with an imunno deficiency in their system, like herpes complex 1, which is a cold sore, or blisters on the fingers or anywhere on the body. Also, warts may also cause immune problems. As the scabies multiplies, the person feels no itch because he is not able to detect the chemical igE that the scabie releases with feces into the host's pore. The scabies multiply by the hundreds of thousands on the person's skin and no one is the wiser. The person may have some patch of eczema on their body, such as an elbow, face or hair.

Fungus creams cure these patches and no one is the wiser. As the scabies multiply, the person may sometimes have a pin prick bite feeling with no visible bug to bite. The person may sometimes have itchy skin, but lotion heals that. There may be places on the body where the person thinks he has some type of clear wart or mole. It hurts to the touch, but is not otherwise bothersome. The "pimple" is a scabies nest with hundreds of thousands of scabies and eggs in it. The bug continues to multiply until, one day, the igE is too much for the person's bloodstream and he begins to feel the itch, the crawling and the biting these scabies cause. The doctor prescribes the cream and it does not work. The dermatologist says he has herpes simplex or shingles and gives him steroids, which will definitely worsen the scabies condition. The scabies live in the skin and, as the years pass, begin to make brand new nests in each pore of the skin. The scabies are everywhere, in the legs, in the back, in the arms, in the face and even definitely in the hair. This condition is the beginning stages of crusted scabies. There are pictures on the internet of horrible cases of crusted scabies in the last stage, which causes the person to look deformed. The problem is finding a doctor who understands that the condition 1)is highly contagious 2) needs the pill ivermectin or its equvalent 3) needs a cream to be applied for at least three weeks and maybe 6 weeks 4) will require treatment for a long period of time and especially a doctor who understands that all the family needs to be treated, even if they do not have symptoms. If someone has had scabies for years, many people may have been infected and should be informed to prevent an epidemic.

I found Eucerin for very dry skin or Equate, vaseline, diluted amonia, moist tar (a drugist can mix this without a prescription), something sugary that dries on the skin like molasses or syrup and lots of showers helped me through the hell I suffered. Do not take baths, let them go down the drain. Protect others by covering with clothes from head to toe, vacuum very often daily, wash anything worn even for a minute. Put the clothes in a plastic bag to carry to the laundry room to wash or stick in the dryer for 30 min. Don't hug anybody, or touch anybody. Everywhere you walk is contaminated. Crusted scabies has so many scabies, they are visual to the naked eye and their eggs get in the fingers, which is very contagious. To find out more, Gaylestevenson(at)ymail.com. I welcome any questions or comments.

Bleach and Water

Bleach and water is for sure the way to go for instant relief. I mixed bleach and water 4:1 ratio aprox, and noticed that my itch had subsided almost immediately! How awesome is that?! Also the second time I treated my skin this way I added about a tablespoon of olive oil to the mix, this seemed to lessen the harshness of straight bleach on exposed skin and open cuts from scratching. Thank you for the advice people of the internet! I love you all!

I suffered from scabbies for 8 months and no doctor told me that it is scabies and I tried so hard get rid of that horrible itch at night. When my wife had same symptoms then we checked the internet and find this site. Thank you to all of you for your posts. I have to say that ivermactin was the only solution to get rid of it and one dose is sufficient. I also bought Borax from Walmart and cleaned our entire house hold with bleach and borax for ten days. No doctor will prescribe ivermactin unless you push and find one doctor might write the prescription. The only place you may find Ivermactin is Smiths Pharmacy at Yonge-Lawrance location. No other drug store have it. As I said the bleach, borax and kwalada lotion does not cure. Ivermactin did work for me and my wife.

Folks, I consider myself pretty medically minded but this type of scabies was quite difficult to eradicate. Read the article from Australia and if you're ready to try anything, go to a livestock feed store and get oral Ivermectin paste 1.87% for only 10 bucks (5 treatments). It is for cattle and horses but as long as you follow your weight calibration, you will be fine. The article suggests very difficult scabies require oral Iver on days 1, 2, 5, 6, 15, 16, 22 and 29. Check it out:

For those of you using essential oils, be sure to use "therapeutic" grade oils. Also be careful of clove oil-it is a "hot" oil and be irritating to skin. Also always do a patch test first.

Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide Soak
Posted by Hayden (Nz) on 01/12/2012

My battle against these creatures was a full blown chemical assault. Borax was used for cleaning clothes, and also combined with hydrogen peroxide to mist around the house and on my skin after a shower. I also used orange oil extract, clove oil, coconut oil and two different types of chemical scabies treatments I alternated between, and used twice over 3 weeks. (be careful as they can be an accumulative poison if used too much) My concoction of chemicals cost around 120 us dollars, but was well worth it. (the two treatments I used were 'Derbac M' and 'Benhex Cream')

I actually got a little depressed after reading about the resilience these vermin can have. I've never done so much laundry :)

Anyone waging this war has my sympathy, but keep up with the cleaning and you'll preserver. I met my nemesis face to face at work as I dug 5 or 6 them out of my hand under a microscope. Needless to say I kept my secret quiet whilst worrying that I'd pass them on to someone else. I think there's a automatic association people make between scabies and uncleanliness/bad hygiene. I know I did, but to my relief I learned this isn't the case.

I'm contributing my story due to the appreciation I have for the advice people have given. I'm itching just thinking about the whole ordeal.

I had an allergic reaction to the mites which would bring up itchy bumps all over my stomach / legs. Try not to scratch these as they are not the mites, and will leave you with red bumps all over the show. I took antihistamines to alleviate the irritation, and in turn make life bearable.

Good luck :)

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Pregnant Mamma With Scabies Scare (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) on 01/06/2012

I am 24 weeks pregnant. We had relatives come to visit our home and after they left they informed us they found out they had scabies. My husband, our three year old daughter, and I watched our bodies the next few weeks for scabies signs and were relieved to find none.

Then about 6 weeks after their visit, I started to notice itchy bumps on my stomach. I freaked out. I found this website and scoured it for natural remedies due to the fact that I did NOT want to use the prescription cream while pregnant. I had read many facts online about how it hadn't been tested thoroughly on pregnant women to have a definite answer as to whether it was completely safe (although the doctor said it was... I didn't believe him). I take my pregnancies very seriously and did not want to cause any harm to my unborn baby. My husband and daughter never showed any signs of scabies but we had them use the cream anyways as a precautionary. Here is what I did for a natural cure for myself:

1. I took a bath 2-3 times a day in hot water for 20 minutes with 1 1/2 cups Borax and 1 1/2 cups hydrogen peroxide. Sometimes I added a cup of citrus mouthwash.

*Before getting into the bath I put my dirty clothes in a plastic bag and had my new clean clothes ready on the counter.

2. While in the bath I scrubed borax mixed with a bit of water in a small cup all over my body (like a body scrub) then washed off.

3. I drained the bathwater then took a shower. I used Selsun Blue dandruff shampoo on my head because of the sulfur it has.

4. I got out of the shower and air dried.

5. I used a 6 oz. Water bottle and filled it with 1/3 borax, 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, and 1/3 warm water (to dissolve the Borax). Then I sprayed it over my entire body then air dried.

6. I used a mixure in a bottle of 10 drops Tea Tree Oil, 10 drops Neem Oil, and 10 drops Clove oil, and filled the rest of the small bottle with Olive oil (as a carrier oil to not irritiate my skin). I rubbed it all over my body generously.

7. I put on my clean clothes and immediately wiped up the shower with disinfectant wipes and bathroom cleaner. I took the bag of dirty clothes and towel to the laundry room.

8. Every morning I stripped the bed linens first thing and put them in plastic bags. I put them in the washing machine with hot water, detergent, and 1/2 cup Borax, then dried on high heat. (I also used vinal plastic mattress covers under the linens so I could just wipe them down with disinfectant wipes.)

9. I never wore the same thing twice (and I didn't let my husband or daughter either). I was constantly washing something all day long. I washed blankets and hand towels, pillows, you name it.

10. Anything I didn't need immediately and was too difficult to wash I bagged up and put in the garage for about a week.

11. I sprinkled Borax all over the carpets, let sit for an hour, then vacuumed up. (I only did this once, but vacuumed daily.)

12. I disinfected the bathrooms, kitchen, doornobs, light switches, computer keyboards and mouse as much as possible.

13. I tried not to wear a coat or mittens or hat when going places so I had less to wash.

14. I used a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and warm water to spray all over the furniture, then vacuumed.

15. I prayed every minute of the day for strength and courage to keep pressing on even when I was tired.

After a few days of this regiment my itchy spots vanished. I continued for about a week for good measure. (I also had my husband and daughter take baths every day with 10 drops Tea Tree Oil).

The only problem I had was I kept finding tiny pin prick spots on my body (looked like teeny drops of blood). I freaked out thinking I was getting more scabies even though the bigger itchy spots were gone. The dermatologist assured me that those pin prick spots were blood vessels due to hormonal changes in my pregnant body. These could easily be confused with tiny scabies dots- so I was relieved to find out they were natural and no problem.

I will never know for sure if my itchy spots were scabies or not, but I for SURE did not want to risk it. All the hassle and stress was worth it to me if I caught scabies in the early stages. It was very stressful for me as a pregnant women worrying about my baby and finding natural methods to help. I hope this post helps any pregnant woman out there who thinks she may have scabies or any other type of mite!

I also started drinking a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in hot water with honey 2-3 times a day for good measure. I read it helps to balance the PH of the body (making you an unwanted host for a parasite) and has many other health benefits (like bowel movement regularity). I also stopped eating junk food and more fresh fruits and veggies.

For anyone dealing with scabies, I sympathize with you greatly. It stressed me out so much and no one can understand the emotional torment you go through in this situation. God bless you!

My mum in a really lovely care home contracted scabies back in july, after several visits from the GP a diagnosis was reached and treatment commenced. - she is still infected and so are three members of my family! - we have tried lots of the above tea tree oil, coconut oil, neem oil, and sulphar soap and bathing twice a day (doesnt help but makes me feel clean) also washing everything after one wear including used towels after bathing - all the bedding washed on a daily basis - all very time consuming!

After some big scratching the other night and my skin feeling like it was crawling I decided to use a clothing lint roller (like selotape for clothes) but I ran it over the severely itchy areas on my body which felt a good bit less itchy and also collected any little critters roaming around on the surface (RESULT) - I am now taking this a little futher after rollering I am applying either sticky dressing pads to major bite areas or bits of microporous tape across the little bumps cause the little buggers once caught on the tape cannot move including any new ones crawling out. Also lint roller very good for going over soft furnishings after hoovering to collect any strays - quite effective up to now. - early days will keep you posted.

I think I contracted scabies from a chair that was given to me. I tossed that chair in the trash and ran to my doctor who prescribed permethrin. It seemed to work well and I was bite free for about 3 weeks and then started getting bites again, although no where near as bad as the first time. I seem to have stopped it from spreading this time by applying a mixture of coconut oil, clove oil, neem oil, and tea tree oil. Of course, I am cleaning my home thoroughly with a 50/50 bleach mixture and washing my clothing/bedding/towels with borax. I have also been using a scrub made from citrus soap and borax in the shower.

I mixed a big batch of oil and apply it two or three times daily all over my body. (My husband says I smell like a spice rack.)

I use:

8 oz coconut oil

1 oz clove oil

4 dropper fulls neem oil

.5 oz tea tree oil

I also added two heaping teaspoons of sulfur powder.

(I bought everything online.)

The oil warms the skin almost as if you applied "icy hot" or some other muscle relaxing cream. I like it but, others may find it too hot in which case you may want to lessen the amount of clove oil.

The neem oil and sulfur smell awful, but the other oils mask the smell. Based on what I have read on this site, I will probably add some orange oil to the mixture for good measure.

It's too soon to say that I'm cured, but I seem to have stopped it from spreading. Although no one else in my family has caught this, I'm going to begin treating them with a milder version of the killer oil. Better to be safe than sorry!

Good luck all!

Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide Soak
Posted by Bitemenot (Radcliff, Ky) on 11/30/2011

-DAY 1 of treatment,

-Acute infestation, possibly under a week, 3 people (one is a 3yr old), two adults showing signs of infestation.

So about two weeks ago a friend of my wife possibly brought over some friends of her own (scabies). Though her friend claims it is psoriasis all of the indicators point to scabies. All of the girls friends within the last few months have broken out with a rash. Now two weeks after the girl spends the night on our couch, my wife is diagnosed with scabies and two days later I am. It started as just a few bumps we assumed were a reaction to an antibiotic, then it spread, waving and waning. Thighs, then hips, then back, then legs, now face. Then we found out about the girls other friends breaking out. I immediately began research upon my wifes diagnosis, spent roughly 12 hours of straight research.

Her doctor prescribed her Ivermectin, , my doctor did as well, I am not real fond of the idea of using such a powerful pesticide like chemical in my body. Besides, we have a 3 year old and we are sure not putting it in her , so we are exploring safer alternatives first.

Although I was hesitant to bathe (and my wife is extremely sceptical) with Borax, which some places inisist is toxic. I decided it couldnt be any less safe externally bathing in the stuff than digesting/metabolizing pesticide.

Tonight I soaked for about 30 minutes in a bath(super hot) of a little more than half a cup of borax and a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide (walmart didnt have the 35%). Letting each different part of my body soak for 10 minutes at a time, legs, chest/back neck, face /head/scalp. BTW I did spot test the Borax as I suggest anyone do before spreading/bathing with a unfamiliar chemical across a large surface area of your body. I just started showing epidermal indicators (bumps) today and my wife 3 days ago, so I do not believe our infestation to be to severe. We are cleaning the house thoroughly with the Borax as well. My daughter was a little itchy last night, but otherwise exhibits no signs at the moment.

The original suspected carrier continues to proclaim to be diagnosed with psoriasis or egzima, with recent visit to hospital (ER), and months ago by a dermatologist.

I'll keep yall updated on the effectiveness of treatment.

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Pricilla (Houston, Tx) on 11/20/2011

After battling these little unseen monsters I finally was able to get rid of them. I initially thought they were nits but seeing that the lice treatments had not effects towards my symptoms and oddly had some eggs that were nothing like nit eggs it came to my concern that it was something different after our dog was confirmed to have a type of manges that is contagious towards humans and once it hops over it is considered scabies.

I desperately searched online and picked a little bit of here and there to find an immediate solution to the irritating issue. I was already following the regulations of making sure everything was thoroughly washed and dried in 2 cycles to make sure we did not continue to have issues but found out it was different procedures when it is diagnosed as scabies.

I faced my head down in the sink with hot water running and first grabbed the bottle of hydrogen peroxide and spread it evenly throughout my scalp to make sure the pores were open then I rubbed Borax all over head making sure I made the point to rub in (with gloves) thoroughly let it stand about 2 minutes before dumpling chlorine free clorox all over making sure to hit the scalp rubbed more borax in left the solution on for about 5 minutes still making sure I was facing down in the sink. After that I grabbed the citrus mouthwash (target brand) and put it all throughout scalp and hair (yes it does burn all over and more where you have scabs) left it on for 6 minutes and then washed roughly with steamy hot water (up to what you can tolerate) and then applied the Rosemary oil based shampoo by fairy tales lathered it in and washed out with warm water. I could definitely feel the difference instantly. I blow dried my hair thoroughly and went soundly to sleep. Thank you for the best solutions found on this website woo hoo!

I sprayed everything down with chlorine free bleach/ borax solution with a little water and washed all clothes and bedding with borax and have yet to see any type of reinfecting ;0) what a relief. It has been 2 weeks of nothing yupie!

O yea and by the way the tried getting to my hands and arms and they did manage to get some bites but were unsuccessful because I threw hydrogen peroxide left it on for 30 seconds rinsed then rubbed borax left it on for another 30 seconds then lastly threw the citrus mouthwash and the marks and redness went away.. The best solution ever!

Clove Oil
Posted by J. (Gold Coast, Qld, Australia) on 11/12/2011

I just came across the article called "Clove oil can be treatment for itchy rash" which discusses a new study from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Australia. In the article the researches discuss how they discovered clove oil is effective in killing the scabies mite.

"Researchers tested the clove oil, nutmeg oil and ylang ylang oil on two different types of mites in the laboratory to see how many died from contact with the oils.

'We tested the oils on the mites, and found that clove oil killed all the mites within 15 minutes'."

"The importance of this research is that the scabies mite has become increasingly resistant to current treatments, especially in Northern Australia where scabies is common. Our research aims to identify naturally occurring compounds that can combat scabies and prevent resistance from occurring."

In my opinion it needs to be diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut oil before applied to the body (we tried to stay at the 6% strength that was mentioned in the article to being 100% effective in killing both normal scabies as well as scabies that have built up a resistance to permethrin, within 15 minutes).

Up until now we've been using borax & hydrogen peroxide baths twice a day, neem oil and tea tree in coconut oil and applied after the baths, DE (Diatomaceous earth) and borax on the carpets and DE on the car seats, plus washing everything in borax and hot water and changing clothes after each bath, clean clothes in bags, dirty clothes in separate bags until washed (all remedies learned thanks to this site! ).

I just read about the research on Clove Oil today so that has been added to our coconut oil as of now. Not sure when we will know when the scabies are finally gone, have been at it for 9 days now, will give it a couple of days with the Clove Oil just to be sure. Does anyone know if these remedies will actually sink into the skin and kill the female mite? Or will it just kill the babies as they hatch from the eggs and come to the surface?

I hope this helps!

The over-the-counter Hydrogen Peroxide here is 3%; just the usual HP bought for disinfecting wounds. Hope that helps. I'm not sure how much to use, there are lots of different recipes out there.

Thanking God for this site, I had scabies, tried the cream that the Dr. gave me, two treatments one week apart, well it did not work, I was desperate and found your site. I used 2 cups of borax with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide in a hot bath 2 times a day for 2 weeks. Soaked for 30 minutes, dipped my head for the first 5 minutes of the bath. Scabies are totally gone! My Dr says I just drowned the bugs, but I had such fast relief, the first night I slept with no itching! I don't care what the dr. says, this cured me.

P. S. I did invest in a steamer and was obsessed with cleaning for the 2weeks, and I washed bedding everyday and never wore the same thing twice without washing. Good luck to all you people fighting these little critters, try this it works! Thank you Earth Clinic.

Ok I have been suffering from scabies for about 6 or 7 months now. I have been back and forth to the doctor and they keep prescribing premethrin cream... IT DOES NOT WORK... Huge waste of money. I have applied and reapplied over and over needless to say with little results... I tried putting SSS from avon all over my body to help get rid of this I put it in my hair it seemed to help a little bit but I noticed that it gave me pimple like bumps all over me. I told the doctor it was in my hair she said that it does not get in the hair... Which is a load of crap because that was where it was the worst. I know I got it from the laundromat I was working at... The washers kept flooding and I ended up soaked with the dirty water every time I worked. The place didnt have hot water ever. So people who would come in to clean their clothes would press hot and either get luke warm or cold water. So if someone had scabies and thought they were washing in hot water they werent and I was wearing that nasty water for 8 hours.

This site has ended up as a life saver. I just got done with the first soak in the tub. I itched like crazy when I first got in. I had it really hot that is probably why. I am noticing that the itching has already stopped for the moment. I didnt rince it off I let it air dry hope that was right. I am cleaning and cleaning and doing laundry like crazy with borax. I am going to mix borax non clorine bleach and water to spray on my carpets, beds, in the car and going to wash all the floors with borax bleach and mr clean. Or should I used flea spray? I have washed out the dressers with borax mr clean and water. I am washing all the blankets and sheets and keeping the clothes away from the ones that were in the dresser until I can rewash them in borax. I have bleached my pillows and dried on high heat in the dryer and placed vinyl covers on them and the bed. Is there anything else I need to do to make sure that I dont get this crap back? It has been going on long enough...

I am going to continue the soaks for the next week. Skin seems dry so I got some Cocoa Butter Lotion to put on my skin. Or would lavender baby lotion be better? I hope this works because I am so tired of my head and coochie and under my breasts under my arms and legs itching like crazy. I need a good nights sleep for once. I am exhausted.

Another thing should I treat my cat and dog too? The cat seems to be itching which she does when she eats stuff she isnt supposed to have (my room mate feeding her crap from the table) but the dog isnt itching at all. They both sleep in my bed. Spoiled rotten lol. I was thinking of making some of the treatment into a paste and dab it on her itchy spots as well. Would it hurt her?

It has been an hour and no itching at all... This is wonderful... OMG I feel great... For the first time in months I don't itch at all...

Permethrin
Posted by John (Tampa, Fl) on 10/25/2011

I am concerned about the percent permethrin mentioned in this article. I have used permethrin for many years for many purposes. The concentrated permethrin I have been able to buy is 2.5% or less; I mix a quart of concentrate with 25 gallons of water to treat grass or ground for fire ants and other pests. To treat clothing, everybody uses a 0.5% or .005 permethrin. Please revise the "permethrin helping cure" article.

I have tried some of the ideas here in order to avoid my health insurance's deductible. I don't go to the doctor much so a visit this late in the year seems like a waste.

I contracted my scabies from a longtime friend of the family who hugged me several weeks ago for an extended time (2 minutes?) while photos were taken. Turns out she has been dealing with an intense rash and may even still be in denial about it being scabies.

Unfortunately, I wasn't immediately aware of her affliction and assumed my itch was due to mosquitoes, allergies, new detergent... Until I was fully infested. Then I treated with lice shampoo, bleach, peroxide, hot water, various lotions... Some provided relief, others provided chemical burns! (yes... I missed the part about the "non" chlorine bleach LOL)

So, unable to take it any more I decided to step up the battle and purchased a concentrated 40% permethrin solution which I used to create an 8% permethrin spray. After completely washing my body using Joy to removed all body oils and dirt... I applied the 8% permethrin from the neck down. When my wife came home, she aided me in treating my head, face and ears.

I will WARN you... This stings like a *****! The areas that I damaged previously with the bleach were the worst and I almost washed the solution off... but I knew this was my last chance!!! The burning subsided and the itching was already lessened within the hour.

I let the solution airdry and left it on for over 18 hours. I used a little calamine lotion upon going to bed to soothe the few areas still itching. Then showered vigorously in the morning. It is now mid afternoon of the day after my treatment (the same day of the showering) and I am a new man. I've had a few itches and welts (less than 5), but nothing like what I have dealt with for the last 2 weeks; my body was covered.

I plan to repeat my treatment with permethrin next week to be sure I have beat it. I post this more as a ray of hope for anyone suffering, rather than a guide to follow. I do not suggest you do what I have done as you could seriously harm yourself. What I am suggesting is that you visit your doctor and use plenty of the permethrin cream to cure yourself once and for all!!!

I realized this goes against the "natural" theme of this website... But it's the only place I found any real information, and I want you all to experience some relief. Several of the stories I read on here brought me to tears! Good Luck!

Animals do get mites - dogs have their 'own versions' of sarcopties and demodex, as do pigs, and as do many other animals. These species don't usually result in sustained infections on humans, but human infection is possible.

I believe some individuals are far more resistant to scabies than others.

I can't shake it off for months, but my wife and daughter only need one conventional treatment. After too much contact with me, even when I think I'm cured, they get itchy spots again, but one or two treatements will cure them.

On each occasion I've had it, it has taken me at least six weeks to get rid of it, with repeated rotated, conventional treatments.

Another point: While transmission is most likely by sustained skin to skin contact, a simple hand shake will do it.

I have seen that myself. I went into a boardroom whilst I had a diagnosed, (treated and almost recovered) scabies infection, I shook hands with everyone, then we sat around the table and started talking. Half an our into the meeting, one manager on the other side to the table started scratching the crease inside his elbow... on his right arm, the one I had just shaken! His scratching intensity increased to the point he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeve to examine his arm.

I was too embarassed to say anything.

Interesting to note that he had obviously had a prior exposure to react so quickly (but then, at about 50 years of age, that is very likely to have occurred).

This worked for me. I have had scabies twice. The first time I just went to the doctor and got permetherin creme. After the first application it helped, but came back strongly in a week. I did a second dose and that finished the job. A year later I broke out with it in Germany. I looked into getting the creme again, but learned that in Germany the government requires you to report that you have scabies and they treat you and essentially quarantine you.

So I found this forum while looking for over the counter cures. I did some bleach baths, which seemed to help, but definately did not cure me. I then did the borax and Hydrogen peroxide baths, which worked perfectly. The results were immediate and compelling, but I did daily baths for a few days. I didn't want to take chances, so I did a few more baths over the next three weeks just in case I got reinfected from clothing or something, because I had not taken the time to steralize everything. I have been scabie free for about 8 months now. I feel much better about soaking in borax than rubbing permethrine cream all over my body. I believe borax is much safer, but I am not a doctor. I wish all doctors had the knowledge an honest to give out this proven cure.

Cleaned and then avoided touching everything at start. It's back. And each time it seems the cream stops it then three days later it doubles. Lost my faith in the doctor. God I hope the list of cures I found off this page will help. You all give me hope, itch itch itch, I will let you know what worked for me just saying, thanks aaahhhh, itch itch itch

Sixth Step: Wake up and shower. Repeat the three phases another day or until you feel that the bugs and itches are completely gone.

Another recommendation is to start taking Garlic Supplements. Garlic Supplements are said to be the worlds natural "wonder-drug" and have been known to cure everything from the common flu to the plague!

Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, Noxzema
Posted by Michelle (Las Vegas, Nevada) on 09/20/2011

I want to start by saying I believe I got it from my dog. I have read numerous sites that say you cannot catch it from your pet but I do NOT believe it. My dog started losing its fur, and scratching herself bloody. After two trips to the vet, they said she had allergies. About two weeks after her itching began, so did mine. The vet prescribed various creams, pads, medicines, and special food to help with her "allergies. " As her itching got worse, so did mine so I began using Benedryl spray, cream and many other "itch-relief" medicines... None of which worked for very long. I was awakened every night about 2:00am with INTENSE itching. I was scratching so hard and so much, I was covered with bruises in between all of my bumps. One night I woke up with hives as well. I graduated to tea-tree oil and Noxema rubs, then after finding this site, onto Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide soaks. During this time, my dog was so miserable, she was going crazy with the itching so I took her to the NVASPCA. They diagnosed her with Mange! I went to the Dr. and got a dose of Permethrin Cream.

I did my dose of Perm a few days ago, and am now making a "scrub" on my wash rag with Lavendar soap and 1/4 Borax. Then I rinse off and squirt Hydrogen Peroxide on my wet body and dab dry. I carry Peroxide in a spray bottle and use when necessary. It does burn so I think it is working and I was at a point where burning was better than itching so I keep using it. At night, my hubby rubs me down with Noxzema, from top to bottom, with a deep massage to work it in real good. I feel I am on the road to recovery. I am sleeping through the night, and not itching as much during the day. My bumps are starting to get dry little "heads" on them. I have washed everything... HOT with Borax, and I vacuum the hell out of my carpet. I hope and pray this is it!

I have used all the suggested thing to cure scabies. Some helped but most did not cure. I have had allergic reaction to some of the treatments such as too much bleach.

To change the PH balance and make my body uninviting to the pests, in desperation I used bottled lemon juice. Real lemon juice undiluted, right from the bottle. To be easier to apply poured it into a covered container and keep in the refrigerator. Oh, feels so good cold to sooth the itching. Would take my shower then after drying off. Use a clean wash rag soaked in the juice to totally wet my body down then allowed to air dry. Did this morning and night for two weeks, also vacuumed and washing bedding and clothes daily. Was mostly free of pests in 3 days but continued just to be sure. I have had scabies 5 times and my Dr says it is a pH imbalance problem so now I eat very little sweets, white flour products and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Sure don't want this again.

I would try natural sea salt in water... That may help. Also, working toward a good ph balance may help too. Apple cider vinegar on the spots may help as well... One other idea is hand sanitizer on spots.

Sea salt maybe the overall best long term help, others have posted much about sea salt and the benefits.

All of these ideas work great for little ones as well.

I am currently very itchy and feel all the creepy crawlers around my body, which is how I got to this site. I have many bug bites that are small, some are bigger but much smaller than mosquito bite. I just don't know if is scabies? or rodent mite? or bird mites? I use tea tree oil on my body bc is the only thing I have available at the moment I don't seem to have any immediate relief, now I just concerned that the smell of the oil is too strong for my baby. I have to buy all the other recommendations as soon as possible. I am currently nursing so I am just praying my baby does not get these things. Is driving me crazy. Just wondering, has anyone ever being helped or got rid off by going to a pool (it has chlorine) or the beach (have salt)? I will try the pool tomorrow since I can go with all my children and not worried about the chemicals. I will post what treatment works best for me. But anyone with children please any recommendations will be helpful. I have a 7year old 4 year old and 10months old. I have seen a few bug bites on my seven year old not the other 2, but I am still concern specially about my youngest.

Hot Cloths

For years I've tried everything that I could find that was non-toxic to annihilate my scabies. I was desperate -- just as desperate as those here whose posts I've seen. I tried the peroxide with borax and it did not help. But the grains of borax helped by being abrasive. Finally found sulphur powder. Mixed it with either eucerin moisturing cream and another batch with petroleum jelly. Again only temporary relief. Okay, two days ago my inner thighs were so chafed and sore that I applied an ointment which was of a mix Vitamins A and D in petroleum jelly. Bought at CVS. Just to fight the soreness, but I reached for the Vicks. Those things must have overlapped, this was my final attack for that night. I got up and did whatever needed doing around the house, and when I began ironing and felt the itch I took a cloth, rested my iron on the cloth -- it was VERY warm (hot) and I put it against the itch. Over and over I used a supply of washcloths that way. It proved to be the final blow to this curse.

I'll never really know if the vicks, the A & D ointment that began the end of the scabies, but I have seen a straight 24 hours that increased to 48 hours with no itch. Or if I itched I hit it with yet another hot cloth --- Do I dare feel cured? Desperation will push you to do unconventional things. And yes, I did plug the iron in and had it near my bedside. And yes, when what was left of the population kicked up at 2AM, I put on my light, turned the iron up, rested it onto a cloth and hit the itch with it and the thing came to a complete stop. This has been ongoing for now two almost three days. I've put away the things set up here that made my areas look like a laboratory. The clove oil, the various mixes of sulphurs, the rubber gloves for wiping down all plastic coverings with bleach, the diatomaceous earth, the dishes with a concoction of clove oil- d. Earth - moisturizing cream. Clove oil is caustic enough to eat into any mixing dish that isn't china or stone-ware. The inner peace at seeing my house look now as normal as before is healing itself.

My prayers were (and are) aimed at St Jude, St Joseph, St Anthony (dear St Anthony please look around my health is lost and cannot be found) . You've got to pray; man and his toxic concoctions made in labs are not always --- in this highly advanced age of moon shots etc ---enough, or might do it but leave you reeling from side effects. Not for me. Natural is always the best of options, first. Okay, the 'iron' isn't purely natural, but it sure seems to have been a good last resort at least for one who was sure there was only one way to rid myself of these: my death.

Do not put anything like metal onto your body ONLY A CLOTH THAT HAS BEEN MADE VERY WARM. I only say this because the desperation can drive us to the edge of madness. Terry is appropriate; like your washcloths. Not a thin cotton fabric. God bless you, one and all.

Hi everyone. I want to first state that it seems everyone has different outcomes with their treatment of scabies. I used the Borax/H2O2 bath soaks for 4 days with no improvement of my rash. It got worse. The itching was relieved for approx. 4-6 hours after the bath soaks, but the rash continued to spread down my arms and legs and up my neck. On the 4th day we decided to try permethrin. That was yesterday. Today my rash is still visible but with great improvement. Nearly all redness is gone ( except in the severe areas) and most of the itch is gone as well. My skin feels like sandpaper where the bumps are but looks let irritated. I plan on using the second dose of perm in 7 days as directed on my script. I will update my post if anything has changed. I hope my post will help someone, anyone who is battling with this infliction.

God Bless.

I know what you are going through! Here is my story. My son went on a mission trip and came home with scabies. Got the cream treated all family members, washed everything and a few weeks latter I had them from my back to my ankles I am talking everywhere!!! I was the only one that was invested. Went back to the doctor another round of cream! The bites continued for four months it was like I was chasing them all over my body! Tried the borax with peroxide baths twice a day, the anti bacteria lotions , neem oil, tea tree oil, olive oil, jergins lotion with lavender, orange oil, in it. Went through (4) tubes on prescription creams, wash everyday sleeping on a air mattress I felt like a crazy person Was so desperate to get rid of them that I ordered poke root and did that, if someone posted I tried it!

Finally could not take anymore, found a different dermatologist the first one did do a scraping and I did have scabies made a appointment the bites that I have been chasing was fungalitas basically all the oils that I have been putting on my skin got my hair follicles infected, yes they itched and looked just like scabies! He gave me a prescription of sulfur antibiotics, four days later no more bumps. I hope my story helps some one I never want to go through that again!!!

Bleach and Water
Posted by Buggie (New York) on 08/28/2011

I have been infected with buggies for years. I have tried EVERYTHING and I do mean everything.

In desperation I decided to try garlic. I chop up 2 gloves of raw garlic every morning, mix with butter or olive oil and spread on bread. I am still not completely clean but 80% of the sores on my skin have disappeared and the rest are healing. Apparently the chemicals in garlic spread throughout your body. This is long term however.

Another thing is eggplant. It comes close to worming you.

Also, get a plastic bottle bidet and clean yourself with clear water after every bowel movement. Afterwards, wipe with petroleum jelly. Make sure that you are absolutely clean because that is where these buggies come from. It took me years to figure out that my own insides were the source of the problem.

Combining long term use of garlic and internal and external cleansing can reduce the miseries and give you a start in getting rid of the buggers.

Another thing that works on the sores on the skin is Vicks. Rub it in and it stops the itches and starts the healing.

I don't know how to get rid of them permanently.

Clove Oil

How did you see these? I looked through a magnifying glass with a light shining on my skin and still could not see anything. I used the clove oil too, but I leave it on all day so that when they come out onto my skin they get a taste of it and die right away. Not sure about the jojoba oil, but I used coconut oil because it absorbs deeper into your skin. Most other oils only lay on the surface. Best to put it on just after the shower while your pores are open so it absorbs deeper into your skin. Also, if you are using the Permethrin cream, doctor's tell you that you are no longer contagious and then need to apply in again in a week. This was absolutely not true in my case. Got it from my husband AFTER in between his Permethrin treatments. Use the clove oil mixture even it you are taking to Permithrin just in case there are some stragglers hanging around that could reinfect you. If you are using bleach, they will kill the adults that are on your skin, but the ones that are under your skin - most of them, will be driven further into your skin to get away from it, then it is even harder to reach them AND they will be doing their burrowing deeper in your skin making more tunnels and causing more damage. I used the clove oil with much success, but wasn't sure if they were all gone, so I took the Permithrin treatment and clove oil at same time, it's almost gone now. No more itching, but they say the rash and some red spots will continue up to 3 weeks after the last treatments as your body secrete the dead mite, their larvae, eggs, and waste from your body. Hang in there. If this persists more than 6 weeks, go see an infectuous disease doctor for sure.

Yes I agree, I have been on another forum trialling differents treatments with different members. Even dog flea treatment which worked, but a few of us relapsed. After reading this article that another member posted
http://www.plosone.org/article/fetchArticle?articleURI=info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0012079

an Australian study conducted last year, we decided to give clove oil a go. We are having excellent results after 2 days. We are diluting 1 part clove oil to 3 parts grapeseed oil. Cover entire body including scalp. For genitals and, nose and eyelids we are using 1 part clove oil to 9 parts grapeseed oil as it can sting when applied. Well worth a try we have tried everything out there.

Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, Clove Oil

I would like to thank everyone with their experience's and recommendation's. I have had this rash for approx. 10 days. I went to the ER to discover my worst fear, Scabies. I work at a Hotel and think I contracted this nasty disease there. My husband does not have any signs of the pest as of yet. After reading what permethrin is and what it can cause, and how effective it is, I became very, very scared. Apparently permethrin "use" to work but because the mites are insects and their life cycle is so short they have built up a immune to this toxic they are calling a drug.

After reading ALL posts in this forum I decided to try Borax w/H2O2. I made my bath with very hot water and added a cup of each and soaked for approx. 20 minutes. In a matter of minutes my skin stopped itching. My infestation is severe. I have a rash across my abdomen, my chest my entire back, buttocks elbows, inside and out.. Upper arms, upper things and back of my knees. I actually sat in the tub crying because I actually felt relief for the first time in 2 weeks. This disease has taken its toll on me, depriving me of sleep as many of you already know how it keeps us awake at night.

Once my skin air dried My husband applied the clove oil ( we mixed it with mineral oil, and he mixed it way to strong as it burned to the point I needed to wash it off) He is at the store now to buy more mineral oil. Its been an hour since my bath and I am itch free, my rash has even lightened up in color to a pinkish, instead of RED.

He sprinkled the Borax on the carpet (we removed our dog and cat).. Letting it sit for an hour and then vacuum it thoroughly. We plan on bleaching everything we can once he returns home, washing all bed linens and clothing.

I plan on keeping an update to this forum on my battle of this nasty pest. I hope my post provides testimony to anyone who is skeptical of using non-prescribed treatments.

Thank you again to all who posted this remedies, and god bless.

Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, Coconut Oil

WOW at first I thought you guys were trying to see what weird crap you could get us dummys to put on ourselves. And then I got desperate at 3:00 in the morning and ran to pick up Borax, hyrd prox, and coconut oil. Oh and I got a strawberry/banana smoothie for my pain and suffering. I followed ya'lls instructions for the bath and afterward rubbed the coconut oil on. My skin looked immediately better, but I started feeling things crawl on my toes and then a few bites so I then squirted the clorox/water mixture all over my bed, around my bed on the side of the box springs and on the carpet and on me. I feel like I am at war with a micro organizm that I can not even see. I have never heard of coconut oil and what I bought was in the baking isle and looks like crisco but a taller narrower can. I thank you all for sharing your advice. I tried the apple cider vinegar first, it burned like a sun of a gun. And all they did was multiply. So, harmful or not, it seems to be working as I am not itching right now and honestly as much as I hate to hear the side affects of any medicine because then I feel like I have to make a choice of which problem will be the bigger headache, I AM SO FREAKING GLAD TO NOT BE ITCHING RIGHT NOW! I am going to snuggle up to my clorox bottle and put on my battle uniform of Pjs on and hopefully get a good night sleep thanks to all of yall!!!! So if anyone reads this and is hestitant, as God is my witness... It works!!!!! Maybe now I will get enough rest to fight this battle and win!!!

Bleach and Water

Hey everyone - the bleach and water work 100%... Not sure how good it is, but I am definitely seeing sign of improvement. I did permetherin 3 times and it didn't do much. I did Ivectermin/Stromectol and it helped.

Here is my cure:

Bed bug spray EVERYTHING -- it has permetherin in it. If you have it in your scalp use CVS 1% Lice shampoo.

Shower every night as hot as you can stand it, dry off and spray with water and bleach solution.

Spray the bed with bug spray, get in bed. Leave Window open to circulate air, fumes I am sure are not good for you.

Wake up, shower and scrub gently with a KITCHEN (yes, I said KITCHEN scrub pad to remove dead skin, and dead Scabies and whatever they leave behind), spray again. Spray everything with bug spray and bleach/water solution - wash everything daily.

After a few days you should see sign of improvement.

This has ruined my summer 2011; I have been in despair... So down over it. Cost $$$ and I have had it since the beginning of May... it's now August.

I have red marks all over my chest and upper legs, and some inside my arms. But it gets better.

God knows what all these chemicals are doing to my body, but I was desperate, I am hoping I am through the worst of it now.

Don't give up!

Editor's Choice

HELLO EVERYONE,

I have been cured of scabies for about 4 months now and feel obliged to enlighten every suffering human being of the secret. Two Words: CLOVE OIL. It can be purchased from any type of natural food store including whole foods, or online. When using it, you should probably dilute it in another type of oil, I used jojoba oil. So probably about 1 drop of clove per 2 teaspoon of jojoba. Mix it up. Rub this mixture all over the body and leave on for 15-30 minutes. Shower and make sure you have washed all of your linens and clothes beforehand with SPECIFIC DETERGENT. BORAX. ADD at least a cup and a half of borax to each load of laundry and make sure you have cleaned everything in your home or you will be reinfected. You may feel the scabies coming out or literally freaking out on your skin, like I did. They came out of tiny wholes and pretty much looked like they were suffering and eventually stopped moving after 20 minutes which is when I showered. It took me a few times to completely get rid of them, so don't feel hopeless if it doesnt work the first time. BUT IT WORKS! It took me approximately 4-5 days to completely rid them and I'm glad I did. Hopefully you guys will take my advice and no longer suffer. G-d Bless!
