General Feedback

I hate to say it but I was raised on a the poverty level of society as I was growing up. My grandmother would do everything she could to keep our family fed and and clothed. She would buy good food, but also some not so healthy choices. Like hot dogs by the pack, and soda by the Liter, because she felt it was cost efficient. So we would normally end up having to buy food that would last the whole month, which included pork, hams, corn dogs, and etc...
If your a child being raised in a crowded home, you usually have to eat what's served on your plate regardless of nutrition. Well what's good for the goose is not necessary good for the gander. Just because Sean is 16 and is a growing boy who play football, doesn't mean 10 year old Sherry can eat a pound of potatoes smothered in butter and a huge sloppy Joe.
I was overweight most of my life. I used to be 180 pounds when I was 16, now I'm down to 145. It's all because I change my life style. Growing up I was mentally depressed. When you are depressed you tend to eat more, because your trying to fulfill an emotional need with food, but all it does is lead to weight gain. Also not having healthy choices leads to bad health. We also eat when were bored, if you having nothing to occupy your mind having some food is one of the first things that tends to go on the I do list.
When I was a little girl I was sheltered and wasn't allowed to do much in the way of having a social life. My guardian was overly protective and gave me a lot negative self talks. I couldn't go to the neighbor's house because their were boys there, but my brothers could go just about anywhere they wanted and could roughhouse all they liked. Play sports, have friends, and participate in after school activities.
I came from an African American family. My family couldn't understand why I would eat so much and they would ridicule me because of my weight and size, and to this day their are lot of emotional scars left behind. I dread gaining and weight and I am constantly trying to get down to 125. It was all ignorance and I suffered alot for something I didn't cause or couldn't help.
The point of what I am trying to say is that children who are overweight cannot help because parents and guardians simply are not giving them right choices. It pains me to see older and younger alike who are in the category of obesity. I want to tell people so badly that the food choices they are making is what's causing this epidemic, as well emotional problems.
Kimchee

★☆☆☆☆WARNING!
I read the comment about kimchee being a healthy food. I personally like kimchee but if you look at the ingredients of kimchee and Korean foods in generally, it is loaded with MSG, which is poison to the body. So beware; look for a brand without MSG.

I tried eating the Korean food, Kimchee after learning about it in school. It turns out that Kimchee contains a good bacteria called lactobacilli that helps the stomach the same way ACV does. It is also considered as one of the most healthiest food in the world by the Health Magazine. You can buy Kimchee on the Oriental section of US supermarkets.

Avoid Spun Honey

I got a huge pot of organic spun honey from the farmer's market last month. It was delicious, but after a couple of weeks, I noticed a huge buildup of dead cells on my tongue towards the back. It was pretty gross. I also felt my metabolism slowing down and I gained a couple of pounds even though I was eating very healthily. I bought regular honey at Whole Foods last weekend and after 3 days my tongue is back to normal and I am starting to lose those 2 pounds! Interesting, eh?!
Tea and an Apple

Ok, i usually eat many but sometimes when i rather use the computer i don't eat. Once i was hungry but did not eat. So instead i just drank some water and ate an apple, after two hours i didn't feel hungry. Since my mother brought some food i ate and when did i felt really full!! You should try this, because your stomach part gets thinner when u get hungry and u feel full. If you do this continuously, your eating habits will be less and less and less.
Simple Diet

I used lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne about 15 years ago to try and lose weight - I did it for three days and I was about ready to line my kids up against the wall and fire. Not really - wouldn't do that...But this made me so hungry and edgy! It is not for everyone. I gave up and just went back to eating. Plus - these radical plans ALWAYS backfired on me and whacked my metabolism eve more - so it was even harder to lose weight. I still deal with weight issues (about 20 pounds over) but I find that I lose weight the best is when I am actually trying to heal my asthma...So - it is a simple diet - mostly fresh fruits and veggies - or steamed, plus an egg or two and one serving of brown rice a day. So - when I am sick with asthma -I REALLY want to be well and I stick with this and I lose weight. This time I need to stick with it past the asthma season. Plus I am adding in kelp now- this should help all three issues: Thyroid, asthma and weight.
Liver Cleanse

Here is a natural cure for losing weight. "LIVER CLEANSE". All the drugs, in my opinion, diet pills, and FAD DIETS you've TRIED your whole life has caused excessive toxic build up in your liver, thus causing your metabolism to slow down, because the food isn't being digested properly as it should (kinda like a traffic jam). After using a liver cleanse, eat a 80% raw diet. Meaning most of your foods should be in their natural organic state, plenty of fruits, veggies, natural oatmeal, water(not tap water),and other foods that don't come in boxes. Stay away from boxed foods. Food isn't the number one problem causing obesity, in my opinion, it's what THEY put in the food that makes you fat (so they can make more money). When you look back at the 1950's or 60's and when you would go to the beach and everyone was pretty much in great shape, now there are more fat people than ever before. All of the huge food companies,in my opinion, put food additives and chemicals to make food taste sweet, when in reality they can cause chemical (toxic) build up in your body-which later on leads to many other health problems. Oh and, if you tried this and have NOT lost any weight check your thyroid, that could be a HUGE problem also. Thank you
Fresh Fruits and Veggies

I am 30 years old, but most of my friends ask me if I am still in High school. I have 2 kids, one is 6 years old and the other is 4 years, but I still look like a girl. I was not like this before, but after I started adding lot fruits and vegg to my lunch and dinner and eating in a timely manner, I lost almost 20 pounds in 6 months, and that didn't affect my glow, I usually see people loosing weight loose their natural glow in skin, But not me, as a matter of fact it improved my glow drastically....I even stopped eating non-veg and fatty foods. Trust me, it works like miracle...u too try....I never ever use any any cream or anything to my face, except for a regular daily moisturizer any brand with no grease in it
Avoid Butter and Restaurants

I am 39 years old and recently realized that going to restaurants can set me back 10 days sometimes in my weight loss regime. I realized this after going to a home-style indian restaurant 2 weeks ago. Their food was delicious, but cooked in lots of butter and sugar. It literally took 10 days to cover. My body fat went up by 1% after the meal and only today, 10 days later, has my weight dropped .50 of a pound, even though I have been exercising every day and on a very healthy, low fat diet at home. So I think one has to be very vigilant about the butter when going to a restaurant and ask that the food be prepared in olive oil. 10 days to recover from 1 meal -- can you believe it??
