Can you please tell me how much you take and how many times a day? Your story seems very similar to mine. Thanks!

Hello! The last 2 years of college i have gained about 15 pounds that i have been trying to lose and it's been so HARD! I don't know why i can't lose these last few pounds. I weigh about 138-140ish and want to be back down to 125 (I'm not even 5'4) So, it's not unreasonable- since i'm not that big of a person. I read all of these amazing testimonies of ACV - but most of the people had somewhat significant weightloss needs and were quite over weight - does this work for "normal" people who only have 15-20lbs to lose? How did you lose your weight? how much AVC and when did you drink it?

Kimchee

I tried eating the Korean food, Kimchee after learning about it in school. It turns out that Kimchee contains a good bacteria called lactobacilli that helps the stomach the same way ACV does. It is also considered as one of the most healthiest food in the world by the Health Magazine. You can buy Kimchee on the Oriental section of US supermarkets. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimchi

I am allergic to MSG but I love Kimchee. There are MSG free versions of Kimchee available in local stores. Just be mindful to read the labels. Kimchee is definitely not a low sodium food, but the MSG free is a better option for salt content.

It is also easy to make your own Kim Chee - and much less expensive, too. Nourishing Traditions cookbook by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig, PhD have a recipe for it, and you could probably find some online, too, and in other cookbooks. Also, it is interesting to know that you can make it with or without salts and starters. A strictly therapeutic raw food version, for example, will not include any salt. Others use salt routinely as a backup safety measure, in case bad bacteria try to proliferate before the good lactobaccili really get going. You can also buy commercial starters that help jumpstart the good bacteria, too. And some recipes mix a little salt with a little starter. But it can be done successfully without any additives at all, just sayin. I've helped make it that way before, and eaten lots of it at a spa where it is a daily feature on the menu, (sauerkraut, actually, without the spices and hot produce that make it the version known as kim chee). It's all the same idea, really good for you. I met a man who cured his cancer (prostate) with a raw food diet, but he ate about a quart of sauerkraut every day, loved it. And for a 70+yo guy, he had great skin. Actually, I know women in their 40's who would wish for his skin, lol! He's had his cancer licked for many years when I met him. I learned that these fermented veggies are great detoxifiers, so it makes sense that they are good for weight loss. They also contain something that, when combined with cooked meats, turns the carcinogenic part of cooked meats into harmless and easily used amino acids. COOL!

I also tried taking lecithin with my meals for weight loss, however I had terrible reactions - headaches, feeling sick & tired. It took me awhile to figure out what was causing it. I took about 1T and later reduced to 1tsp 3x a day. Needless to say, I didn't lose any weight!!

Lecithin

I took lecithin at my doctor's request (she practices alternative medicine as well as being a licensed M.D.). I took it for panic attacks though. It really helped me! It helped to increase the seratonin levels in my brain due to having to take very strong antibiotics and steroids for an extended period of time after a major appendectomy surgery. Thanks to her excellent advice I no longer have panic attacks!

Lecithin
Posted by Citygirl27 (Richardson, Tx, Usa) on 09/22/2012

The fact is, no matter what your metabolic type, weight, or health condition, lecithin is a fat emulsifier. This means it makes fat water-soluble and ready to be flushed out of the body. The reason you see it in foods is because it allows oil to be mixed with water based ingredients without separating or clumping. Lecithin does not contain the phytoestrogens everyone panics about (if present they are trace and insignificant), but rather has phosphatidylcholine. In plain speak, that is choline like that which is in eggs, but instead in the form of a phosphatide from a plant. It works as a liver cleanser. If you are gaining weight, it means that receptors elsewhere in your body from what your liver is releasing are weak and are responsible, not the lecithin. Ted speaks of soy lecithin granules for weight loss in several pages on EC.

WARNING!

Please don't brush your teeth right after having vinegar. It grinds the vinegar into your tooth enamel and causes it to wear down. Do rinse your mouth with water. Once vinegar in neutralized it should be safe to brush your teeth.

Hello! That's awesome that it's working for you. Yay!

Just one suggestion on I've recently learned is don't wash your teeth directly after using acv. It'll wear the enamel faster. Wait 30 minutes or so before brushing.

Ok, i usually eat many but sometimes when i rather use the computer i don't eat. Once i was hungry but did not eat. So instead i just drank some water and ate an apple, after two hours i didn't feel hungry. Since my mother brought some food i ate and when did i felt really full!! You should try this, because your stomach part gets thinner when u get hungry and u feel full. If you do this continuously, your eating habits will be less and less and less.

Simple Diet

I used lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne about 15 years ago to try and lose weight - I did it for three days and I was about ready to line my kids up against the wall and fire. Not really - wouldn't do that...But this made me so hungry and edgy! It is not for everyone. I gave up and just went back to eating. Plus - these radical plans ALWAYS backfired on me and whacked my metabolism eve more - so it was even harder to lose weight. I still deal with weight issues (about 20 pounds over) but I find that I lose weight the best is when I am actually trying to heal my asthma...So - it is a simple diet - mostly fresh fruits and veggies - or steamed, plus an egg or two and one serving of brown rice a day. So - when I am sick with asthma -I REALLY want to be well and I stick with this and I lose weight. This time I need to stick with it past the asthma season. Plus I am adding in kelp now- this should help all three issues: Thyroid, asthma and weight.

Fresh Fruits and Veggies

I am 30 years old, but most of my friends ask me if I am still in High school. I have 2 kids, one is 6 years old and the other is 4 years, but I still look like a girl. I was not like this before, but after I started adding lot fruits and vegg to my lunch and dinner and eating in a timely manner, I lost almost 20 pounds in 6 months, and that didn't affect my glow, I usually see people loosing weight loose their natural glow in skin, But not me, as a matter of fact it improved my glow drastically....I even stopped eating non-veg and fatty foods. Trust me, it works like miracle...u too try....I never ever use any any cream or anything to my face, except for a regular daily moisturizer any brand with no grease in it

Liver Cleanse

Here is a natural cure for losing weight. "LIVER CLEANSE". All the drugs, in my opinion, diet pills, and FAD DIETS you've TRIED your whole life has caused excessive toxic build up in your liver, thus causing your metabolism to slow down, because the food isn't being digested properly as it should (kinda like a traffic jam). After using a liver cleanse, eat a 80% raw diet. Meaning most of your foods should be in their natural organic state, plenty of fruits, veggies, natural oatmeal, water(not tap water),and other foods that don't come in boxes. Stay away from boxed foods. Food isn't the number one problem causing obesity, in my opinion, it's what THEY put in the food that makes you fat (so they can make more money). When you look back at the 1950's or 60's and when you would go to the beach and everyone was pretty much in great shape, now there are more fat people than ever before. All of the huge food companies,in my opinion, put food additives and chemicals to make food taste sweet, when in reality they can cause chemical (toxic) build up in your body-which later on leads to many other health problems. Oh and, if you tried this and have NOT lost any weight check your thyroid, that could be a HUGE problem also. Thank you

How much water do you use to make this lemonade? I'm sure you don't just drink the above without water...do you? Thanks for your response because I am anxious to try this one.

Posted by Cheryl (Tecumseh, Ontario) on 11/05/2006

It is NOT true ... that the concoction should be drank without water. Here is the recipe:

How to Make Lemonade
2 Tbsp lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)
2 Tbsp genuine maple syrup (not maple flavored sugar syrup)
1/10 Tsp cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste
Water, medium hot (spring or purified water)

Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 oz. glass and fill with medium hot water. (Cold water may be used if preferred.) Use fresh lemons or limes only, never canned lemon or lime juice nor frozen lemonade or frozen juice. Use organic lemons when possible.

For the ACV lemonade fast that Carol from Washington talked about. What happens after day 5? Do you just repeat day 5 until you are done or do you start over?
