Anti-Fungal Remedies or Medication

For Thrush, the white coating in your mouth, I have found a good way to stop it for me. First, I brush my teeth as normal in the morning. Important! Upon waking do not swallow any spit (sorry). The spit (IMO) is FULL of candida, the white stuff, especially in the mornings. If I swallow anything, it fuels my gut candida and virginia candida overgrowth, I think. But, anyway, the second crucial part is this: I get some Listerine, or store brand of it, and put in a normal cup-full of it in my mouth. Now, for the fun part! I brush my teeth again gently - the gums, the nooks, the crannys, the toungue, back of the mouth as far as I can get, etc. - to get as much surfaces in my mouth brushed with the mouthwash in there. Yes, I lean over the sink and tend to drool, but I've gotten better at it with practice. My eyes can water from the sting, since it takes me over a minute to get all my surfaces, but I figure the tears go down the back of my throat and help wash things. I end up rinsing and rinsing with water afterwards just to get rid of the stinging, but its all worth it. I have found that the stubborn white coating cant be rinsed with just a half a minute of swishing; it needs to be brushed out!

The benefit of doing this twice a day for a couple days and then daily for a week or so gives me great results all through my body. This means that my digestion returns to normal (no longer constipated) and my vaginal yeasty beasty virgina dies down. In addition, I do take Femdophilus (refrigerated acidophilus from Whole Foods) twice/three times a day when I have a flair. (Once at night normally). I also take Azo Yeast (from any drug store) 4 times a day with a flair (twice a day normally). I have taken Diflucan in the past, once daily for thirty days to get rid of candida. This regimen works just as good for me! The only times I seem to have a flair now-a-days is when I run out of the Azo or the 'dophilus for more than a couple days. You'd think I'd learn...

Don't Douche
Posted by Mark (Las Vegas, Nv) on 02/23/2013

This is B.S. Women have used ACV as a douche for years to maintain Vaginal health. Douching is not always bad, especiually if something gets up there that needs to be washed out. Lake water, milk (from a milk bath, anything number of situations. Don't use high pressure.

If you douche with ACV, you should also be taking probiotics either orally or vaginally. I have had girl friends cure their infections using ACV and the women in my family all used it.

The don't douch hysteria is going way overboard.

Hydrogen Peroxide worked instantly for the itching caused by my yeast infection, even though it stung a little bit initially. But the relief was worth the use I'm definately sticking by this one. Thanks for the info on the site, it was really helpful.

I have have yeast infections the week before my period for the past 6 months or so....I was going crazy! Went to the OBGYN and she suggested that when I feel the slightest burn or itch that I put 1/2 cup of boric acid into a tub of slightly hot water about 2 inches deep and sit for 15 to 20 minutes before bed. She said that this would neutralize the inbalance of PH in the vagina. She said do this every night until infection is gone. (for about a week)

I started having a terrible itching two days ago. This had never happened to me so I didn't know where it came from, especially now that I am on a good diet. It may have been the bath that I took, and many other things. Anyway, the itching started being unbearable, last night I couldn't sleep at all so I started reading the cures on these site. I did the folic acid, garlic softgel and hydrogen peroxide. The itching really as subsided. Hopefully it goes all away. The hydrogen peroxide seemed to help a lot.

I have had a yeast infection for the past 5 years. I tried EVERYTHING. The apple cider vineger douche worked for a couple of days but the infection returned. Then I tried a cure I found for candidia, which I think I have/had, do to the other side effect of dandruff. I ate a section of a garlic clove and took acidophilus tablets. I was on the tablets, 3 a day for about 4 days, then I took a section of garlic before I went to bed on the fourth day. The next day I found that the white discharge I had been used to in my underwear was not there! Gross I know-- but think what a relief that was after 5 years of it.!! I will continue with the tablets and garlic to see if my dandruff clears up. Also I have found since taking the garlic that my tounge getting less of the white stuff (another sign of candidia). Try it! Hopefully it help someone else!

Boric Acid

Boric Acid has been a great remedy for my vaginal yeast infections. If you have BV it is not as good for a long-term solution. You may want to take an antibiotic cure and then use boric acid as a later treatment to prevent a yeast infection.

One thing though, if you want to really rid yourself of yeast infections, just remember to use the boric acid the whole span of treatment or else the infection will come back. Also NEVER ingest boric acid because it is toxic if ingested!

I was recommended to use it straight as a suppository for a full week, then stagger it every other night, then after a week of that stagger it every two nights, etc; until you don't use it at all.

Boric acid is antibacterial, but it doesn't kill the strains as well as antibiotic medicines (like metronidazole).

I am very excited to try the folic acid tx for my BV. I'll let you know if it works for me!

I recently had taken antibiotics for a sinus infection and ended up with a male yeast infection with severe external blistering and irritation. Found your website and read about acv for sinus and yeast. Not willing to go back on meds that caused this nasty thing I started on 2 tbsp organic acv and 1/4 tsp baking soda as internal and straight acv for external cleansing of blistered area .Did this 3 to 4 times daily. It burned for a few seconds but then all itching and burning stopped. In 4 days the blistering and irritation were gone and have not returned. Am still using acv to finish curing this sinus infection and other diabetes related problems also noticed better & easier digestion. Thanks for a great batch of info Highly recommend this site to all.

ACV worked for my Yeast Infection. I had already used Monistat (1 Day) and the result was nil. I also used the anti-fungal cream that came with it, with minimal results. The itch was driving me crazy, so my next stop was going to be Vagisil (which I've never used before.) But then I searched for natural cures online and found YOUR lovely site! I drank 2 Tbsp of Omega Nutrition's unrefined Apple Cider Vinegar (it's organic) in water, plugging my nose as I did. Then I sat in half a cup of it in a low bath for 20 minutes, pouring it over the front of myself as I added it to the bath. Voila! Three days of discomfort was over! I'm never buying useless ovules again.

I had a very severe yeast infection after taking antibiotics for a UTI which I believe came from a hot tub. I took a Diflucan after trying Monistat 1 day, it (monistat) did nothing for my infection as far as pain and itching... So, while waiting for the Diflucan to kick in, I still was uncomfortable... Ran across this site, took a bath with ACV and epsom salt about a cup and a half of each, I filled the tub more than half way and the water was pretty warm and soaked for about an hour... NO MORE PAIN OR ITCHING, this is wonderful... I almost can't believe it worked so well. It feels like nothing was ever wrong. I will definetly be taking a tbl spoon of ACV every night from now on, maybe I can avoid these things all together. YAY, oh and while I was in the tub I stood up and poured more ACV between my legs, it burned something awful but when I sat back down in the water it went away, the sensation of the ACV was totally worth it to get rid of the torture of the yeast infection.

I am simply amazed! Two days ago I started developing symptoms of a yeast infection. From past experiences I was dreading starting a "drug store remedy". In the past Monostat or others like it took about seven days to work, if they worked at all. I decided to search for an alternative cure and found this web-site. I read all of the testimonies about apple cider vinegar and had "_______" in my fridge so I had nothing to lose! I drank a glass of water with two tablespoons of ACV in it. I also put 1/2 cup of it in a hot bath and soaked for 20 min. As God as my witness I got out of the tub and already felt a huge difference. It was as if the discharge magically disappeared along with the itch. I thought this could not have happened so quickly and thought when I woke up this morning the symptoms would be back. I felt some mild pain this morning, drank another glass and soaked again. I have no discharge at all today and feel no other symptoms. I plan to soak again tonight and continue to drink the ACV three times a day from now on! I want to shout this cure from the mountain tops!!! Thank you for this website and for all that contribute to it. We can spread the word that meds often mask the problem and natural is the way to go!!

Clove of garlic works wonders for yeast infections! After inserting 2 small cloves of garlic into the vagina, the itching stopped in about 20 minutes! This was during the day...and no, I do not smell like a pizza. At night, I use the 3 day Monistat. I'm on the second day, and all the symptoms are beginning to subside. I really enjoy your website, and it is very informative. Thanks for the home remedies!!!

Apple Cider Vinegar and Salt

First of all, boo to Monistat. I tried it for 3 days and it didn't touch it. So this morning when I woke up and still had a full blown yeast infection, I started researching and came across this site. I found this cure and several others so I thought I'd give it a shot. First, I decided to try the salt only method. I made sure my finger was wet, then salted it and put it where the infection was (even inserted up into). Wow, that burned insanely bad but I just distracted myself by folding laundry and hanging up clothes. After about 15 minutes, I peed and washed it all off. Felt better and continued on. I then took a tampon and soaked it in ACV for about 10 minutes. Then, I tried the salt/ACV bath. This is what really helped. I poured 1 cup of ACV and 2 cups of salt into a very warm bath, sat there for about 30 minutes while I studied. This totally worked! No more redness, no more itching, I feel awesome. Thank God for this website!

Salt Water

Years ago I saw a doctor in Australia who told me that the only way to cure yeast infection was to douche twice a day for 10 days with a solution of salt and hot water (as hot as you can stand it), holding the solution in the vagina for 5 minutes, then draining and inserting new hot solution, etc. for a total of 20 minutes. Here's the problem ...I can't remember the proportion of salt to water! I think it might have been 1/4 cup table salt to one quart of hot water (boiled and cooled sufficiently). It works great! Does anyone know what the proportions are? Is it 1/4 cup salt to 1 quart hot water, or is it less salt?

It's 3am and I have been up all night with horrible burning and itching. I tried dabbing the ACV with a tissue and drinking it in water and I felt immediate relief. Thanks so much for the info, it is great to know I am not alone.

WARNING!

Oh a note about apple cider vinegar too. I went and bought the vinegar sold in grocery stores, you know the distilled one. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I drank it and immediately brought out into a yeast infection. I am not joking. As i drank it i began to feel that familiar itching of a yeast infection So just a warning - make sure that it is organic / raw apple cider vinegar that is bought (which is murky brown in colour) and not the other distilled one (light/clear brown is colour) Thanks again.
