Betel Leaves
Posted by Naga Jap (Los Angeles, CA) on 04/06/2014
Dear All Women and Men out there who suffer from yeast infection. I can't wait to share my experience using the betel Leaves for my yeast infections. It's been more than six months I have been suffering from yeast infections (nobody trusts me including the doctors), but I know that it's yeast infection.
At first, there was white thing in my genital area (I am a guy). I just washed it, and it kept coming back, then I searched internet, and found it was yeast infection. Then using monistat and few drops of vinegar, it was gone in a week, then came back again, diet, using a lot of remedies were not working like: ginger, garlic, coconut oil, turmeric, lemon water.
I knew for a long time about this betel leaves benefit. My friend and my sister already told me about it, but it didn't cross in my mind of using it. Well, one day I met my friend in the bus, and told her bout the yeast infection. Then she told me how to use it. I bought it following day. Here is what happened:
I went to the asian market (Hawaii supermarket in Alhambra, CA), I couldn't find it in other markets. I took the bus, it was a little bit late and cold, but I gotta do something for myself. I bought it, then used only 5 leaves (tore it in small pieces), put 3 bottles waters each 500ml, then boil it for about 20 mins. I mixed a little bit of the turmeric powder in it. Wait until cold, then drink it. Also important thing is to apply the water to the infected area. You will see the color changes to its normal color without any side effect like burning instantly.
I didn't do it that way. Instead, I used the still wet boiled torn leaves to apply it to the area. instantly the color changed, and I didn't see the peeled off skin anymore. I did it for few times before going to bed. Next morning, it looked great. but I still continue doing it for the next couple weeks until it's really gone. I apply it every 3 hours on day time.
On the 3rd day, I tested my spit into a clear cup of water, a lot white separate thing into the water, but I did't see the 'spider net' going down to the bottom anymore. I think the white spread like wet powder in the water are the dead yeast parasite.
Hopefully this post will help everybody in this world, no matter where you are. God bless, and thank you for reading my experience. Naga

Things NEEDED:
- Qtips
- Minced Garlic
- Towel
I get yeast infections quite often, I was looking for relief outside of the usual RX that I receive from my gyno.
I placed a towel underneath my body and then put fresh minced garlic on a QTIP and rubbed it around my inner labia and inside of my vagina. (I know... TMI). But I repeated this several times and laid down for about one hour. When I got up, I went about my business aound the house for almost three hours and then took a shower. Eventually most of the garlic came out after a thorough washing.
I still smelled like garlic (I am very sensitive to scents) so I took another shower.
I felt complete relief from the yeast after my second shower and the scent was not as strong.
Oral Yeast Infection Remedies

I have been using apple cider vinegar in warm water with garlic as a face wash to clear up an oral yeast infection. Wondering how long I need to do this for until it clears up my lips and face are cracking dry and itchy and I put coconut oil on afterwards but now what? This is day 2 and I'm pretty miserable.

Hi Cassy,
So sorry you are miserable!
You might try diluting the ACV and garlic more when you use them. Both are very strong, especially on sensitive skin areas.
Castor Oil may work well as a follow up moisturizer and is also anti-fungal. You could even mix it 1/2 1/2 with the cconut oil. I put castor oil on my face most nights and I do not wake up feeling greasy. (But I try to keep my hair out of my face when I sleep! )
Tea Tree essential Oil and Lavender Essential OIi together (and diluted in another oil) are good anti-fungals, too. But on your face I would dilute them a good bit...Maybe 5 drops of each per 2 teaspoons oil.
Let us know how it goes...I hope you feel better soon.

I have recently (within the last month) started taking anywhere from 1 tsp 1X a day to 1 tsp 3X per day, depending on my level of stuffiness. I have been taking it for my allergies and digestive issues) of Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. Both my allergies and digestive issues are GREAT now.
I am having hormone imbalance issues (totally unrelated to the ACV) but because of my age. (entering Peri-menopause)
I have now gotten a yeast infection (I think...still need to get in to the doctor to be sure since we first thought I had a UTI but the test for that was negative) and I haven't had one since I was pregnant with my youngest child (who is now 18 years old)
Has ANYONE had anything like this happen? I am wondering if the ACV, along with the hormone imbalance has caused this issue?
I understand that ACV is supposed to kill candida but could this be a die-off issue? I have not cut sweeteners out of my diet (I don't eat junk or processed food but I do consume raw honey, raw cane sugar (on occasion) and 100% maple syrup.
Any advice????
Yeast Infection Prevention

Yeast Infection Prevention:
I took antibiotics for pneumonia. I always get a yeast infection with antibiotics ever since taking tetracycline as a teenager. Since the antibiotic didn't really seem to work for my lung infection, I continued several home remedies. These didn't seem to help my lung infection, but they prevented a yeast infection -- at least temporarily. About 2 weeks after I stopped all remedies I got the dreaded yeast infection 2 days before my period. Less severe than my usual, but still itchy and uncomfortable. Now I'm trying to figure out exactly what kept the yeast at bay and wonder if readers can help. Here's what I did while on antibiotics:
- Fresh pressed or chopped raw garlic: 1-3 cloves 2x/day
- Olive leaf extract (liquid form in a capsule): 2 caps 3x/day
- Cayenne tea with 1 TB ACV and 1/2 T honey added
- Lomatium extract: 10-15 drops 2x/day
- Astragalus/reishi tincture: 2 droppers 2x/day
- Jatoba tincture: 1 dropper 2x/day
- Vit C: 500 mg 2x/day
- Probiotic: expired and no consistent amount but ~5 tabs a day of 1 billion organism non-refrigerated
I thought it might be the olive leaf that helped but I've been taking it for 2 days now and still have a mild yeast infection. I realize yeast infection prevention is probably more effective than treating an active infection, but I'm starting to wonder if it was one or more of the other remedies that led to my initial escape from yeast.
I could just take everything above to try for a cure but doing all that took a great deal of effort and I smelled like garlic at work (easy to explain during the weeks I had a bad cough, but not so easy to explain now).
Any thoughts?

Hello Bethany,
You ask why the formula worked... Well your combo of 9 items?... are all anti viral/fungal. A great combo.
So you got both infections under control... for a while.
But the infection is apparently systemic. And so comes back after being pushed off the field, but it's still on the sideline and jumps back into play as soom as it can. (Can sure tell I'm writing this during football season. ) So you need something to go with for a longer period of time.
Check out nystatin. I've had experience with it and it is a great anti yeast substance. And my old stand by is colloidal silver. On an empty stomach will over months get rid of virus/fungus and bacteria.
"Nystatin" is not a statin or at least I've never heard that. And use the CS as an irrigation also. Wherever the infection is where it is subject to direct application, it is especially effective. I mean if you can get it "squirted" where ever the infection is... Do it. High PPM from my experience is best. (Controversy on that. Some think a low concentration also works... Like 15 ppm. ) Nystatin comes in a cream form and I used that plus as a powder in water and taken orally.
CS...take one tablespoon on empty stomach twice a day for four to six months. Consistency and taking enough of it are the key.
On the lung infection, you'll need a nebuliser... A steamer... And the CS goes into the pan and you breathe in deeply the CS for five min after the steam is well under way. Twice a day for a month.
Make sure you give yourself a sinus/ear canal irrigation... five or six irrigations a week for a month. Yes, it's there too. You must get the ears so that the eustacian tubes can get the effect also.
I know this is frustrating for you, and it's the long term app that will nail the problem. As long as you leave ANY in your system it will come back. What you've done so far is good and demonstrates you are onto the real problem but persistence over many months is the answer. Using the right stuff is the answer. (Make sure you take some probiotics since you will be on CS for a while. Some say long term CS can hurt "beneficial bacteria" although I've not found that to be true.)

Hi Dave, thank you for your detailed response. Fortunately my bronchitis/pneumonia (first one ever) finally resolved, but it seems time, sleep, and my own immune system helped more than the prescription and natural remedies. Since lung infections have a way of recurring once bacteria/viruses have made their initial tracks/roads in the pulmonary tree I will keep your lung/sinus advice in mind for the future.
Nystatin is a prescription antifungal medicine (comes in both oral and topical versions). Am hoping to balance my body without antifungal meds just yet, although I do have some fluconazole (Diflucan) as a backup. I will read more about CS as I have some concerns about toxicity (especially the argyrosis) with long-term use.
Colloidal Silver, Boric Acid
Posted by Jenni (Miami, Fl) on 09/25/2013
Hi, this question is for anyone who knows. I was using colloidial silver to treat a yeast infection and uti. I was taking a lot of the silver orally (alternating between a tablespoon over the tongue and a teaspoon held under the tongue for 20 seconds and then swallowed) every hour. Ex: 4pm tbspn over tongue, 5pm tspn under tongue, 6pm tbspn over tongue for as long as I was awake. Internally I was instructed to put 3 oz of the silver solution into my vagina and let it sit there for 20 minutes. Then empty out and wait 30 minutes and then put a probiotic in. After all sorts of ups and downs with the uti and yeast and other symptoms I decided to try the boric acid suppositories. Decided not to douche with the silver tonight and only use the boric acid because I was unsure if these two methods are safe to use around the same time.
Long story short, would it be safe to let's say douche with the silver in the am, follow up with a probiotic after and then use the boric acid in the evening? Would it also be an option to douche with the silver in the evening and then maybe an hour later use boric acid? Any advice/knowledge would be appreciated:) Thank you.
Colloidal Silver, Boric Acid
Posted by Lloyd (Charlotte, Nc) on 09/25/2013
To Jenni re interaction of Colloidal Silver and Boric acid:
Any time there is a question of interaction, you can proceed cautiously by first applying a little CS to wrist and then a small amunt of Boric Acid to the same place and judge the reaction, if any. Your Boric Acid application I presume is diluted in water, correct?
I am only talking about a very small amount to first test. Then if no adverse reaction, try more but at a little higher amount. Again, if no adverse reaction try at higher amounts until you are confident that there is no adverse interaction.
Finally, when actually applying to infected area, only apply a small amount of CS first and then the BA. Next day, if no problem, increase CS a bit.
This idea is the same way you test for allergic reactions... small amounts and raising the level over a number of test applications.

I have been getting yeast infections after sex and during my period for the past 6 months. I have found several different cures that work within days:
*Soaking a tampon in Tea tree oil w/ water or ACV and water(leave in overnight)
*Inserting 2 Acidophilus pills inside and taking 2 more orally
*Fill spray bottle with water and lots of tea tree oil, spray your "lady parts" everytime you go to the washroom. It burns like fire but it works.

I have a yeast infection and no money or insurance to go to the doctor. So far I have tried hydrogen peroxide douches, eating yogurt, cutting out all sugar and carbs, and a fresh clove of garlic in the vagina every few hours.
When I initially did the garlic over night, the itching got much much worse and I took it out. I'm now doing it during the day, changing them every few hours. When will I see any improvement? Unfortunately I am highly allergic to monistat which ended up with me in the emergency room last time I used it :/
I am having pain in my lower abdomen along with frequent urination. Thank you.

Hi. I'm sorry you're having trouble with a yeast infection. You'll probably hear a lot of good responses to this post, but I wanted to weigh in with an Earth Clinic cure that my daughter and I both swear by: Dip a tampon in Apple Cider Vinegar and squeeze out the excess. Insert it and leave it in for a few hours or over night. The vinegar we used was an inexpensive store brand.

As to why one vinegar works better than the other, I have no idea. ACV is not sticky, however, and I find I like it better in recipes than the white vinegar. For my needs, it's been a good ingredient to keep on hand.

I meant white vinegar for tampon use. I ingest the ACV but have the white vinegar for cleaning purposes. I was just thinking apple juice would make things sticky so I would assume ACV would do the same since it is fermented apple juice.

I'm so miserable right now. I thought I had a UTI since I get them frequently and took the extra round of dose my doctor gave me just in case I got the UTI back. I did not see a discharge. As soon as I took the first day of antibiotics I saw the discharge and I knew I had made a mistake taking the antibiotic. 3 days of the yeast infection suppository treatment and no relief! It did not work this time. The cream that comes with it is also not helping me. I'm super uncomfy and want to go home. I will definitly go out during lunch to get the pills and yogurt. I pray this helps me.

What helps me is taking a non-dairy probiotic at least two hours after the antibiotic. I was advised by the pharmacist not to take them any closer together because the antibiotic kills the beneficial flora.

I have been having recurring yeast infections for about 9 years. I came across your site and after reading the "testimonials" decided it cant hurt to try ACV. I want to add that I had placed about a 2 inch piece of aloe vera (the middle gel-like part) in my "vv" for the last 2 nights. It helped to soothe the itching but the yeast has not gone away. in fact, it started to itch more today. I am broke so I am gonna give ACV a try. I plan to use 3 parts organic ACV to 1 part warm water this evening :
First in a douche while showering
And then I will insert a tampon soaked in the above solution
And wipe front to back
and let it sit for about 3 hours
I will repeat for 3 days and will let u know!

For me, ACV only works so-so for yeast infections. Boric acid is very effective against yeast.... I've used coconut oil on a cotton ball and put a light sprinkling of boric acid (pharm grade) on it (you can buy it on amazon, etc). Wipe down the area whenever you feel the itch. Works wonders for me!

For the lady that is RAW from pelvic bone to tailbone.... I've had recurrent yeast infections for the last 30 years & I've never been RAW with dry itchy skin. Yeast infections make you ITCH horribly INSIDE & on all of your moist Labia areas then you get a white cheesy like gunk inside. If you have sex, rub or scratch the area, it begins to burn & itch worse. What you have may not be a yeast infection at all, so GO TO A DOCTOR! There are FREE public health nurses, health departments, birth control centers & charities that will help you. PS- Ive never used ACV for yeast infections, only white distilled vinegar diluted with water.

Hi Ashley, A great way of geting rid of parasites & fungus is drinking copper water & all that you do is pour water into a copper container overnight & drink 4 glasses the next morning when you awake & during the day. I tried a lot of fancy things to get rid of the nasties & am getting good results but here comes the jughie part part because these nasties tend to sink to the bottom of the toilet so you have to use a fork to dig them out to see if you are getting them out of your system. Now copper kills everything, search the net.

I have tested negative for yeast and everything else it could be and have become desperate as anti-fungals stop working as soon I stop taking them. Boric acid burns like heck after only a few days (although it does help before I have to quit) I would love to get the name of the doctor you used! I am trying to figure out which doctor you refer to but there are so many claiming to be 'experts'.

Given your digestive issues, Anxiety and toe nail fungus you may want to look into leaky gut syndrome. I am on a diet called GAPS which targets healing leaky gut that would most likely cause all the issues you have written here. It is intensive and required a commitment but looks like you have already altered your diet so this may not be as much of a change for you. I highly recommend looking into it. It would be a total full body healing and should irradiate all those issues.

Consuming the ACV didn't cause a raging yeast infection. You likely were experiencing your body purging the yeast. Our wombs are self-cleaners and whenever taking anti-fungals, the body will remove it the best means possible (via excretion, skin, discharge, etc).

I've had a recurrent yeast infection for several weeks now that I believe was brought on by birth control pills (which I have stopped taking about 2 days after developing the infection). I am fairly sure the infection also exists in my bladder (as I have had frequent urination & have been urinating white specks for 2 weeks) and in my bowels as I've been struggling with constipation for over a month (doc says its probably stuck fecal matter). I'm not sure if this is considered general candida overgrowth. I don't have a coated tongue, rashes, or any other symptoms really.
I've been taking organic ACV orally for about 2 weeks (1 tsp in water several times a day, anymore makes me constipated) and applying nondiluted ACV topically (sometimes the organic stuff, usually the regular pasteurized stuff) by holding a soaked cotton ball under my clitoral hood and vaginal opening for 15 seconds each, then wiping the entire vulva and anal area (front to back of course) and holding the cotton ball on my anus for 15 seconds. When it gets really itchy internally, I will soak a few cotton swabs in ACV and insert as far as I can without letting go of the ends and leave in for several minutes (usually this step isn't necessary as the itch occurs mainly outside the vagina; if you can do without this step I recommend it as it tends to dry me out). The burn is not too intense unless I've been rubbing/scratching and lasts only briefly, then the itch subsides completely. This doesn't seem to help the infection itself; however, it does relieve the itch.
Other supplements/remedies I have been using include: 250 mg magnesium oxide 1-3 times daily; 1 tbsp blackstrap molasses in a 10 oz glass mixed with 1. 5 tsp organic ACV and 2 tbsp lemon juice, then topped off with water and taken in the morning before breakfast and sometimes before bed; 1/8 tsp borax and 1 tsp baking soda added to 1 liter of water and sipped throughout the day (if I take too much I get headaches so I usually only drink about 2/3 of this mixture per day. 5 days on & 2 off); daily multivitamin (vegan) most days; 125 mg lithium aspartate (5 mg lithium) in the mornings most days; gingko biloba once or twice daily; silica complex sometimes; 1 tsp psyllium with 20 oz water once a day; 1-2 tbsp ground flax added to food daily; 1 tsp creatine once a day; borax baths about once a week after swimming or when I see visible culture buildup (1/2 cup added to bath water and filled up to hips), acidophilus tablets twice daily after eating. If you would like any additional info about brand names or anything, email me.
I eat an almost vegan diet: no meat or dairy at all, fatty fish occasionally (though not recently), organic local eggs sometimes. Recently my diet has included fast/processed food once or twice a week, but I try to limit my portion sizes and eat veggies daily. I avoid sweets, eat whole grains, and add sea salt to my food when I can (helps cut down the excessive thirst). I exercise regularly (daily stretching and weekly cardio). I'm a healthy weight usually though occasionally I get slightly underweight.
I hope this helps, and I would appreciate any other suggestions if you have them.

Hello ladies, I have been suffering from reaccurent yeast infections for years. I have tried every remedy, including an anti-candida diet for 2 years ( yeast, sugar and wheat free. ) many thiings have worked but nothing has been long-term. I still get outbreaks consistantly. I am currently trying boric acid capsules, due to all the information I have ready from women who have had success using it. I bought a bottle at Walmart and made my own pills by dumping out the useless acidophilous pills I was inserting nightly and filled with boric acid. I started using boric acid caps inserted into the vagina on May 14, 2012. I have also been douching with hydrogen peroxide daily. So far have had a little relief but I still have a some itching. I will continue to use the boric acid caps and douch with hydrogen peroxide and water for two weeks. I will let you women know. Thanks for your letters women. Debbie, I very much agree. It is important for everyone who post info at EC to be specific and accurate, or misinformation can occur as a result. Also, in this new age of rapidly expanding info and discoveries, it's critical to be specific. Water isn't simply water anymore; there's tap water, bottled water, filtered water, distilled water, alkalized water, mineral water, etc. Salt isn't simply salt anymore. Also, while on topic, I wish people would also include the common name of a particular illness, not just the medical/scientific name; or maybe I need a e-medical encyclopedia. Also, how many mg, oz, or how many times a day or how many days also helps.

Dud, my point being that table salt is processed and does raise blood pressure etc and is very bad for your health. Raw sea salt or swimming in the sea does not raise blood pressure or endanger your health. Taking in excess processed salt via food or transdermally would not be healthful. If you still add table talt to your food, good luck to you.

Agreed Timh, people need to be specific about things and when someone does post something that may be dangerous for people to try I think it should be corrected. This girl specifically said "table salt" which could endanger someone with blood pressure problems. She may have meant raw salt but she didn't say that.

I was suffering from a yeast infection.
Quick simple easy way to get rid of one:
Stop using soap when you bathe. Bathe with water and sea salt. When you finish bathing, mix coconut oil with tea trea oil and apply to the vagina (can go in walls or inserted inside). Also take a drop of oregano oil after and mix in. You can also take 2-3 drops of oregano oil on the tongue.
Also, buy a case of kefir and drink one or two glasses a day. I also find that taking ayurvedic herbs like triphala and gotu kola also helped the process. Using coconut oil when eating has also done wonders.

Hi guys, I'm 16 years old and have been having a problem with yeast infections. Being a female teenager living with my father, you can see how discussing this topic with him is a little uncomfortable. I was so relieved when I saw this site. I've never tried ACV but it definitely works. If you don't have any ACV a good substitute is white vinegar. Itching and uncomfortable, I was in a panic to find relief. So I did some research and found that mixing white vinegar with some water and using a damp towel to apply to the area. If the infection is external. Mine is. I found instant relief! My itching and burning is gone! I plan to continue this method for a couple days just to make sure the infection leaves for good. Thanks to all of you who shared your stories!! You helped so much!!
