Hi, I am 58 yr old women. Perioral Dermatitis for four months. Tried everything. It almost went away on its own while in Fl by the ocean.
Someone told my sister this is a stress rash. I totally believe that is what caused it. She suggested high grade salt diluted in water to suck up the toxins. Mine was very red and angry burning and itching. I used pink Himalayan salt. I just put it on rash and let it dry then rinse off with very cold water. Oh my GOSH alot of redness gone after first time!!! Everytime that I feel the burn or itch I do it again. On my fourth day and it is almost gone! I have washed my face a couple of times with the African Black Soap with Oats, Alo & Vitamin E. I have not as yet used any lotion or anything on it as it seems to make it worse. I am so happy!

Has anyone considered environmental causes? I am originally from a hot humid environment but now live in a fairly cold dry one. Each year I return to the tropics it only takes three days to flare up. The itching around my mouth drives me crazy and my lips get so swollen I look like a cartoon character. My doctor told me years ago that a move to the beach would help. Thankfully I know that within a few days of returning to a cooler environment it will disappear completely. That's my experience anyway...
